After going to a cabin in the woods, Quinn finds herself stuck in the midst of a blizzard with her three masked men. As they spend the holidays with one another, Quinn is left captivated. Christmas and New Year’s Eve will never be the same. Tis the season for giving, and receiving. Holy, not so silent, night...
This is a Dark Romance/Suspense, RH Novella with MMF and MM scenes.
Molly Doyle has been writing since she was in grade school, and has been a published author since she was sixteen. Once she moved her talents to an online platform, her writing took off. Melt for Us by Molly Doyle is a dark, short, spicy RH Christmassy romance — the second novella in the Order of the Unseen series. It follows Quinn and her three masked men as they retreat to a cozy cabin during a snowstorm for the holidays. Between twinkling lights, mistletoe, and the crackling fireplace, their Christmas and New Year’s Eve turn into one steamy, forbidden adventure. ❄️🔥
Please note: This book also contains MM scenes (I’m again mentioning this because I know some girlies are not into that — I’m not either, but I just fast-forward such scenes 😅).
───♡─────────────
♡ What I loved most: • The spice was — once again — absolutely delicious and on point 🤭🔥 • The holiday atmosphere was so cozy and festive — snow, lights, warmth, and tension all blended perfectly 🎄✨
✘ What didn’t work for me: • The prologue was literally lifted from Bloodshed — I understand the intent for context, but reading identical word-for-word sections between books felt repetitive 📖 • The ratio was off: 95% spice and only 5% plot 🫠 • The SA plotline came out of nowhere — if Quinn was that deeply affected, it should have been mentioned earlier 😕 • Quinn’s reaction in Chapter 9 felt exaggerated and unrealistic, especially given the setting and her supposed progress 😬
❀ Overall: This felt like a filler book — a sweet, spicy interlude rather than a true continuation. While the atmosphere was undeniably festive and the spice was perfectly steamy, the lack of depth made it feel like a bonus scene compilation rather than a novella with purpose. I still liked it — it was warm, sexy, and cozy — but it didn’t add much to the overarching story. Think of it as a little Christmas gift from the author: fun, fleeting, and a touch naughty. 🎁💋
𝓶𝔂 𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓾𝓰𝓱𝓽𝓼 I really don’t like RH, and I don’t know if this is classified as that, so I knew going into it I probably wouldn’t love it, despite enjoying scream for us, and I wasn’t wrong.
Everything I liked about scream for us was literally non existent in this book. All the characters felt completely different, the story felt like it was a third in a long series the way the characters kept referencing their past. I know she’s setting things up for the future, but it just felt like I was reading the middle 10 chapters of book.
My biggest issue though was that Quinn speaks on SA that she experienced in her past and it just came out of nowhere. It was literally thrown in there simply to justify certain actions, and I was annoyed because how didn’t anything in scream for us trigger her? Idk if I’m insensitive or I’m handling or wording this poorly, if I am lmk, but it just was done really poorly in my opinion.
Basically it was really clear that this was thrown together last minute, and while I appreciate that authors need to build on the hype, this just could have used a little more revision. I was planning on reading the books around these people because I don’t like RH, but this solidified that.
I know I’m giving this a really low rating, I just really didn’t find anything I liked in this.
holy shit this was horrible. the writing style was giving wattpad. and a poorly written wattpad story. the characters were so fucking unlikeable and annoying!! most of the time i just wanted to cry because of how cringe they were. and honestly there is seriously no point to include their feelings the characters had for one another. it could’ve just been a book with a proper plot and smut. and no romantic development because the romance in this story was just weird. and no, the smut is not worth the read. the smut scenes were so shit and it got boring at some point
Oh gosh do I have a lot of things to say about this book! Trust me, if I could give it 0 stars, I would. Basically read this book if you want straight porn with literally no plot, questionable characters and uncomfortable scenes all the way through!
If you're wandering what my favourite quote was, it's definitely "My nipples pucker at the festive sight" I mean you can't tell me this sentence isn't a pure masterpiece like yes amazing
This book actually was worse than the first one, as crazy as that may sound considering how bad the first one was lmao but yep the author did it! congrats i guess?
First of all, I feel like the boys are all secretly gay for each other. I mean like I had my doubts before but after they started fucking each other i was like yep knew it! I also hated the fact that Quinn fetishises the fact that two guys are fucking, it's both disgusting and hurtful.
She also never questions the boys when they kill someone??? she's just like oh you killed someone? omg that's so hot like what??! they are fucking psychos wdymmm
The fact that they also fucking act out Quinn's rape scene was actually so fucking disturbing?? like just why, how is that meant to be hot when it's literally on the limits of rape i don't get it
They also randomly talk about rape experiences, death and trauma in the middle of fucking each other like that just made the whole book even more awkward then it was before
And don't even get me started on the choking scenes, they were a MESS lmao
And if this review did not already convince you NOT to read this book, they use the words "Milk me" so yeah no, that's a hard pass for me, I ended up just laughing and cringing all the way through ew
“This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen,” I say. Micah turns back to look at me. “I don’t know about that.” “Okay. Name one thing more beautiful than this.” His hand grips my thigh, just above my knee. “You, Quinn,” he tells me. “You.”
Okay well, compared to the first novella and the full book this was just eh. Almost all smut again, and the rest of it wasn't as interesting.
The fact that Quinn was assaulted sorta came out of nowhere and I didn't like how that was handled. It's almost like the guys have to kill someone in every single book, so hey let's introduce another person who wronged Quinn so we don't forget how they'll do anything for her.
To be clear, by all means, off the rapist, it's the reenactment I'm referencing.
Anyway, I will still read the second full book and see how I feel about that.
I want to preface this by saying if you have any triggers at all for r@pe, do not read this because there is a large focus on it. It is an unconventional way for trauma to be dealt with, however I can say from a personal standpoint that I understand why a certain scene went the way it did as a form of catharsis. Especially because later on there is a scene where she takes full control over all three men.
That being said, I really did enjoy this smutty xmas/new years novelette. I personally really enjoy this series from Molly Doyle and cannot wait for the full-length novella. Ghost is one of my favourite anti-heroes and I just need more from him!!!
AHHHHH!!!! I just finished reading this novella its like a mini one before the next one.. its fast pace and steamy!!!!
Quinn and the boys are enjoying Christmas in the woods we get steamy scenes and more info about the guys we know there real names now which ill put when the novella is released so you’ll be surprised hehe. This one is light on the killing but we do have some killing. We get more of Quinn with Jason and Michale and more with ghost daddy 🥰..and some yummy MM scenes.. and more deliciousness .let's say those Santa hats and Christmas lights are involved 💦🍑😈😈😈 I wont say much more hope you all enjoy it when it comes out.

wasn’t the worst but wasn’t all that either. the thing that put me off was how they randomly start talking about rape experiences and trauma in the middle of fucking and then they help her by chasing her and acting out the scene so she can do more then before... everyone hyped these novellas up so much on booktok, so i had high expectations going into them, but never mind lmao.
I don’t know what the hell happened but I gave scream for us a 5 star and I expected this one to be up there in range of being good for me. But it was not. Like wtf was this. I wanted a scream for us but in a smutty Christmas way. That’s what I was expecting. I didn’t want a sex assault reenactment and rape plot that came out of freaking nowhere. It didn’t make any sense. It’s like two completely different people wrote these two novellas. Because scream for us is soo different from this one. I’m sorry but this a hard no for me.
This was.... fine. I was indifferent about Scream for Us and this was no different. Some of the scenes I felt like I had read before, the introduction to MM was so abrupt and the way they talked about SA just seemed like a way to introduce CNC which was really uncomfy to me. Idk just wasn't memorable
This is a reverse harem novella. If you are not into rh, don’t read it.
the spice in this one was way better than the first one (except Chapter 5… I didn’t like that Chapter) Great spice, I like the characters a lot. Can’t wait for the full length novel because I want to know what these men do for living!!
This was just as great as Scream For Us. You got more info on who Ghostface, Michael and Jason are which I really liked. I'm SO excited to hear there's going to be a full length book with these characters!! I can't wait for it!!
I didn't like the book from the start, nothing compared to "Scream for us" in my opinion. These Christmas hats? Cringe. Breathplay? Come on. She'd literally die... But when she tries to "replay" her r@pe out of nowhere, after just admitting to herself that she was raped a year ago... I'm out. Out. Out.
Melt for us was a good novella to end my Christmas season reads. I did like Scream for us more, though.
Ghost, Michael, and Jason, who now have names, take Quinn to their cabin in the woods for some fun for Christmas. Together, they take her to pick out a tree and shower her with gifts, as they know that she loves Christmas. We see a new side of the guys as they are now showing Quinn a softer, more passionate side with her until she tells them about a traumatic experience she went through one Christmas that she had never told anyone about. She says that she is fine until she is faced with the trauma on New Years Eve, and now it's time to get revenge.
“We’ve lived in darkness for so long,” Damien says, grazing his lips against the crook of my neck, trailing down to my collarbone. “You are the only light we have.”
This left me excited for the full-length novel. Before diving into this novella, be sure to check the trigger warnings.
We finally get name reveals!! And these men remain positively unhinged <3
This was definitely a more intense and emotional read than the first novella despite there being less murder in our twisted Christmas special. With a heavy focus on trauma related to rape, we see a major scene in which Quinn and the guys reenact a rape scenario as a means for working through the memory and gaining a sense of control over her life. There’s emphasis on sexual violence and growth and the dynamic between Quinn and her now unmasked men is very interesting to see.
There’s banter and comfortability that we haven’t seen before. There’s a deeper relationship between the men that were seeing for the first time and I’m very eager to eventually read the full length novel that’s set to take place between the events of the Halloween and Christmas novellas.
We’ve ALSO gotten more distinct personalities that separate the three men, creating a noticeable spectrum from softer and sensitive to intense and violent. I appreciated the development of their characters, especially “Jason” and “Michael.” With “Ghostface” being the main man we were seeing Quinn interact with during Halloween, it was nice to see the other two feel more solid as characters and individuals.
Since Halloween, Quinn has grown much more comfortable with the idea of murder and voicing when she wants someone dead. The act is no longer shocking and I’m very interested to see the exact development that brought her to the mental state we see her in during this book.
The spice level has also increased 👀 with an already established relationship, these four really can’t get enough of each other 💃
CW: explicit sexual content (involving consensual violence & BDSM), retelling of past rape, consensual non-consensual role play/consensual reenactment of rape scenario, violence, blood, gore, cutting, kidnapping, murder
Molly did it AGAIN! Am I partial to one of them? Yes but I do love them all. Loved this so much but 100% check trigger warnings before you read! I cannot wait for Molly to write more into this world, I will read anything she writes
I didn’t like this one as much as the first one but it was still a great little read and hot af. I really hope there’s more of these coming out in the future. Where can I find 3 hot serial killer boyfriends? 😂🙈
