Actress Bianca “Bia” Pearl has finally landed the headlining role that could help leave her scandalous past behind—a role that may even earn back her parents’ respect. All she has to do is stick to the script, both on and off camera. Bianca is determined to prove to the press that she’s not who they say she is…an overrated gold digger.

Firefighter and former foster child Eddie Rice has always drawn the short straw in life. Now, he’s determined to help kids in need have a better future than he did. And when Eddie is selected to represent the fire station at Last Chance County’s masquerade ball, he realizes it’s the perfect opportunity to secure the mayor’s signature on a grant for a much-needed rec center.

But when a case of mistaken identity and a bribe lead to Eddie and Bia being trapped together in a fire, the pair must team up to escape—and protect their futures in the process.

Rescued Heart is a heart-pounding romance that celebrates the power of second chances, the resilience of the human spirit, and the transformative power of love.

I’m always fascinated with the idea that love can grow from deception. Authors Megan Besing and Lisa Phillips explore how a fake dating deal forces two broken people to tear down walls and experience unexpected feelings as they navigate the complexities of their relationship. The evolution of the characters’ feelings is noteworthy.

Bianca ‘Bia’ Pearl and Eddie Rice remind readers that beneath their professional front and seemingly ‘got it all together’ persona, they are really just two people struggling to be loved for who they really are. Mixed in with this is Eddie’s struggle to forgive and Bia’s need for approval and to be seen as anything but weak. The author duo’s faith threads show the need to rely on God’s timing and caution us on limiting God’s plans. This is no easy feat for Bia and Eddie as their lives are on the line…more than once!

If you like pacey, unique plots and a well-done fake dating trope featuring light faith threads, this one is one to put on your reading list.

Awesome read. Eddie was an awesome and likable character. Bia wasn't likable at first, but turned out pretty great

Rescued Hearts by Lisa Phillips and Megan Besing really did not capture my attention. I really wanted it to. There was hints of suspense, but it really didn't seem that much of a story element until the very end of the book. The familiar setting was nice to see and return to. Readers will enjoy the familiarity of the setting and a number of the characters. However, the hero, Eddie, had some elements in his past that were kept hidden from the readers. Those points didn't really bother me. Phillips and Besing did create a hero who wanted to help the less fortunate children, in order to give them what he did not have, which is admiral and made him a more heroic hero. However, Bianca is a girl who wanted to be an actress, but one encounter with Eddie to try to make more numbers for her movies, and she is questioning her whole life's choices. I had a hard time buying that. Plus, the story hinted at some suspenseful moments, but it did not really come to fruitation until almost the end of the novel. Overall, Rescued Hearts by Lisa Phillips and Megan Besing told a really slow moving story that I could not wait for it to be over. I wanted it to be more interesting, but for me, it really didn't capture my attention.

I loved being back in Last Chance County and the opportunity to revisit some of my favorite characters.

The book is filled with suspense and criminal activity and kept me guessing who was involved and why.

There were some great characters in the book who live out their faith each day. Eddie tries so hard to make a difference in the lives of the youth in the area. It was so sweet to watch him advocate for the kids on the baseball team. I could identify with Bianca as she had so much compassion for people and was often misunderstood.

Thanks to Sunrise Publishing for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Rescued Heart was another fake relationship theme, but also unique and different.

For starters, both characters knew it was fake and agreed to not fake date, but just be around each other and let others make their own conclusions. But then all the danger and life threatening accidents which made Eddie jump into the rescue, added some swoon worthy hero moments for Bia fans.

The scenes with the children who Eddie was spending time with and trying to help were some of the sweetest moments for me. The compassion from both Eddie and Bia towards the children were evident in the interaction with them.

I also liked that Bia was a new Christian and was trying to show others she changed and to honor God through her work.

Another great segment in a wonderful series.

Such a great story, I couldn't put it down! Actress Bianca “Bia” Pearl has landed in Last Chance County to film her latest movie. Firefighter and former foster child Eddie Rice is tasked with being on set undercover. He has a heart for helping kids have a better future. From the start when Bianca meets Eddie, they make deals to help one another, she for her ratings, and he to raise money for a center for the local youth. Someone seems to be sabotaging the filming and delaying the production. Much of it seems directed towards Bianca. She is caught up in various dangerous situations and Eddie is the hero rescuer. I enjoyed their interactions and growing attraction. I enjoyed the baseball scenes with the kids Eddie is coaching. I enjoyed the faith was a part of their lives on this road to forgiveness, and discovering what is most important in life.

Rescued Heart is a captivating story with a light faith thread, a journey from brokenness to healing and forgiveness, and just enough of a mystery to keep the reader guessing!

Sometimes when I read a book a character captures my heart. This was especially true for the male main character in this story. Eddie Rice has beat the odds. His past has not defined him. It has made him a better man. He is a hero in his own right, not just because he is a firefighter, but because he truly cares about those less fortunate and gives back. He has been there, done that, and knows the youth of his community need a solid place to grow and have a chance at life. His entire personality and quest for taking care of the youth of his community was truly inspiring.

Bianca "Bia" Pearl is a movie star who has also overcome some things in her past. Things that were truly not her fault, but yet they have marred her name. She is on the set on her newest movie in Last Chance. This is a movie unlike some of the others she has appeared in. She wants to show the world she is a different person now that she is a Christian.

Bia and Eddie meet by chance at a masquerade ball when she mistakenly thinks Eddie is someone else. However, as you read this book, you realize this meeting was not by chance. It was meant to be. There are accidents happening all around Bia. One has to wonder if she is being targeted or if this is only a coincidence. Eddie is asked to go undercover as Bia's fake boyfriend, which does not sit well with him. He stands on principles of honesty, but the protector in him will not allow him to fully say no.

I always enjoy a visit to Last Chance, but I must say the characters in this story have stuck with me long after finishing the book. Two people whose lives have been irrevocably changed by something that was completely out of their control have chosen to make something better for themselves. There was plenty of suspense and questions about who was to blame for all of the so called accidents. I was completely shocked by the reveal. There was a possible romantic connection building in this story, but the story was so much more than your usual romantic suspense. I easily read this book in one sitting as I lived for a few hours with these characters.

Thank you to Sunrise Publishing for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“Dating a movie star...for beginners.”

Rescued Heart by Megan Besing has so many good moments! I love all the banter between Eddie and his crew. Especially when they came up with the idea to do a class for Eddie on how to date a movie star. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that!

Bianca Pearl was such a good character! I’d love reading about her. She has some family drama/tension and is just trying to do better since she has found religion. Which is something I think most people can relate to. I love all of her interaction with Eddie’s baseball team, especially with Scarlett. There was always a cute or funny moment when they were all together. Bianca and Eddie’s “fake dating” was great. I always love a well written fake dating trope. It was nice to see Bianca and Eddie start to build a friendship while they were fake dating. Definitely helped them out when it turned into real dating.

Eddie Rice was a truly wonderful character to get to learn more about. You met him in Rescued Duty and I’ve been dying to learn more about him. I love how good he is with the kids he works with. He just wants them to have a better childhood than what he had and I love reading how he helps them do that. Eddie and Bianca have a lot of similarities. There’s biggest one is like Bianca, Eddie is trying to do better now that he has religion in his life. I love that Eddie and Bianca got to work in this together doing the book and it helped with their overall character arc.

Rescued Heart is the seventh book in the Last Chance Fire and Rescued book. You get to see characters from previous books which is great if you’ve been reading the series as they come out. But if you haven’t that’s okay too. A lot of them get enough explanation of who they are that you won’t be confused about them. This book has fake dating, banter, and a little bit of a mystery. Put that all together and you’ll have a good read on your hands.

These thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks Sunrise Publishing, Lisa Phillips and Megan Besing for the ARC.

A headlining actress with a scandalous reputation. A firefighter with a heart of gold. A masquerade ball, a mistaken identity, and a fire that changes everything.Welcome back to Last Chance County—where second chances are forged in the flames. Rescued Heart is an emotional, high-stakes story filled with hope, heart, and healing. Bia and Eddie are total opposites, yet watching them collide and grow through a fake dating setup, shared goals, and growing faith was so rewarding.Eddie absolutely stole my heart. He’s not just a firefighter—he’s a mentor and steady light for the kids in his community. I especially loved the baseball team he coached and how those boys and girl welcomed “Coach B” into their circle—it was such a heartwarming touch that brought depth and joy to the story. The romantic tension was slow-burning and layered with trust and vulnerability, but what stood out most was the emotional growth both characters experience. And that twist? I didn’t see it coming! There’s just enough mystery, meaningful faith, and genuine character connection to make this one hard to put down. I read it in one sitting and loved every second.Perfect for fans of emotional Christian romance, small-town suspense, and stories where love grows from unlikely places.

In Rescue Heart we met Bianca, and Eddie, who accidentally run in to each other at a charity event. Bianca who is an actress temporally filming a movie in Last Chance County, who wants to right past wrongs, and Eddie a firefighter who want to help the kids who he coaches. When their world collide they decide to fake date.
In between coaching softball/baseball and movie set drama is a very sweet love story.

With part of Rescue Heart's story set during a movie production there were multiple behind the scenes moments, that felt fun and different, and the contrast of a movie production in a novel was excellent. The ongoing suspense was highly intriguing and while this wasn't non-stop suspense, it gave Rescue Heart a more realistic lifelike pace.

I like that both Eddie and Bianca struggled with the idea of fake dating despite it being a popular trope, it isn't authentic, and I appreciate Megan's take on this.

This was a great Christian romantic suspense. It held my attention and it was filled with action and danger and twists and turns. Our heroine Bianca is an actress and she comes to our small town to star in a movie. Our hero Eddie meets her at a masquerade fundraiser through a case of mistaken identity. When they both witness a crime the heat starts to rise. Bianca is trying to get out of the weight of the lies her ex and the paparazzi spread about her and when Eddie is deemed her hero, she strives to keep him close to improve her image and boost the production. Unfortunately, Eddie is a former foster kid and he has a big problem with lies. As they get to know each other, they spend time both on the baseball field and the movie set and things heat up even more. With family hurts and danger swirling around, these two take us on a ride and get our hearts pumping. I’m excited for the last book in this series to release soon! This is a just kisses romance.

"Plus, I found giving God the job of looking for my future spouse works out best."

In “Rescued Heart,” book 7 by Lisa Phillips and Megan Besing Bianca Pearl is hoping to finish the movie she is cast in as one of the main characters. Little does she know how much that role can change her life in an instant.

Eddie Rice is unfortunately caught up in another job, other than his own of being a firefighter. Will this change his world, his struggles, his livelihood…for the good or bad?

Really enjoyed this book. Might be my favorite from what I have read so far. It had very great lessons on trusting God in life itself. What people do to you in life does have an effect, but how we handle it is the most important.

This return to Last Chance County was just as thrilling and hard to put down as I expected it to be. I enjoyed reading about Penny's journey to faith as well as her and Bryce attempting to move on from past mistakes. The villains were truly diabolical and despicable, and the heroes were easy to cheer for. It was nice to see some loose ends wrapped up from an earlier book in the series, and the threads of truth and faith woven through the story fit perfectly. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys inspirational suspense, and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Rescued Heart is a romance novel with hints of suspense! When Bianca and Eddie meet at a Charity, their worlds are forced to collide. Bianca is trying to right the wrong and prove the world that she has changed for the better, and Eddie has a burning passion for the kids and wants a youth center. Together, they make a deal to fake date in order to help each other. But one expected save after another crowns Eddie a hero, and an attraction to settle between them. I loved how a relationship can bloom from a scenario like this and I loved the faith elements intertwined within.

I have enjoyed the Last Chance story arc and am going to be sad to see it end soon.

Overall this story was interesting. It’s always interesting to me when a story theme is based on a lie. It defiantly doesn’t give the best message as Christian’s when there’s a commandment against lying.

However I liked the heroine of the story Bia and her new faith journey. She wanted to make something more of herself and her acting career. Something to glorify God, and I think that should be the goal for all of us.

I liked being able to visit some of the other Last Chance characters and see how their lives and journey is going.

Over all it was a good read and had some interesting twists at the end!

This series just keeps getting better and better, as do the heroes! Be still my heart, Eddie is a fantastic guy. He had some elements that I felt kinda in the dark about, but honestly I think it just added to his overall charm. And I mean who doesn't love a guy who enjoys being around kids!? It's kinda one of my downfalls lol.

Though the story felt a little slow at times, I actually didn't mind it. I was just engrossed in Bia and Eddie's story and it was fine. Just made it feel like I spent more time with them. Overall I enjoyed the story line, the characters and the charming setting.

I love the characters of Last Chance County and the setting (even though I'm realizing it's a lot bigger than the small town I imagined from the first book). This story focuses on Eddie, one of the fire fighters who is trying to help at risk kids and get them a real community center and actress Bia or Bianca Pearl. It starts out with Eddie rescuing Bia and then goes on to a fake dating to help Bia's new movie and keep her career going. Throughout the story is a strong faith element, there is some suspense but not as much as I thought there would be and I didn't know who the villain was until the end.

I enjoy reading books featuring Last Chance County and the many characters we meet there. Rescued Heart is another one that I have loved. I really enjoyed how the chance encounter from mistaken identity led to fake dating as Eddie and Bianca strike up a deal that will benefit them both. However, with Bianca’s life in danger, the stakes become very high.

There was plenty of mystery to keep me reading and I really enjoyed seeing the “fake dating” blossom into friendship and more even though they both tried to hide their real feelings. Megan Besing and Lisa Phillips kept me guessing and did a wonderful job bringing all the pieces together at the end. If you enjoy mystery, suspense and a little romance, I definitely recommend Rescued Heart!

Rescued Heart is a story of misinformation, past painful experiences, faith, redemption and new beginnings. Firefighter Eddie Rice agrees to help actress Bianca “Bia” Pearl get safely through filming a movie while also spending time together away from work. Sparks fly throughout the book making the reader want to hurry and turn the page. It’s very hard to put this book once you get started. I had to be careful writing this review without spoilers.

My thanks to the publisher for an ARC of this book. The opinions stated here are mine.

I love second chance stories, and Rescued Heart is a doozy! With a damsel in distress, a real-life hero, and an old-school mystery, this story is super fun.

But it's more than just a beach read, though I could get behind a chair on the beach with a frosty glass of iced tea with this one; deep faith lessons shine through from the very beginning. My favorite books are those that go deeper than a story that I'll read today and forget tomorrow, and Rescued Heart is definitely a story that sticks with you.

I loved Firefighter Eddie Rice who had a rough childhood and now is trying to make a difference in the lives of needy kids. You will love the antics of the kids! Actress Bianca Pearl worked hard to be the kind person that she really is but there was trouble on the set! How about some fake dating to straighten things out? Lisa Phillips always writes an riveting story and Megan Besing does a great job too! I received a complimentary e-book from the authors and Sunrise Publishing. I recommend Rescued Heart, the 7th book in the Last Chance Fire and Rescue series. This is my honest opinion.

Fast-paced action with multiple complex characters in a Last Chance Fire and Rescue story. Number 7 in the series, but it can be a stand alone. Scenes set in the firestation and at the movie filming location. Interesting characters will keep you guessing which side each one is on. This book was provided by Sunrise Publlishing. This series is so fun with different authors and Lisa Phillips. The characters come to life with their past baggage from family problems. Actress Bianca Pearl and former foster child Firefighter Eddie Rice meet through a case of mistaken identity at a masquerade auction that leaves them trapped in a burning room. Their story is a highly enjoyable, faith based book of danger and suspense with an unexpected twist. I would recommend it to those who enjoy suspenseful romance-coms.

Fire!

This is one fantastic book filled with romance, suspense, and heroes hotter than the fires they fight. It has everything a girl needs without too much heat.

Loved the main characters as they fought their attraction through individual struggles and shared chaos. Absolutely fantastic book.
