Phoenix Rising

Rate this book
How can Fairy Godmothers help their charges find love in the modern world when nobody believes in magic anymore? Simple, they run a dating agency!

Rhys Spencer is determined to prevent his rich father from shutting down the charity he set up for kids in gangs, but he needs the money from a trust fund to do it. However, his grandmother has withheld the funds until he proves himself to be a mature, responsible person. To her mind, that means Rhys being in a serious relationship. Rhys turns to the Fairy Tale Match to find a woman he can use as a fake girlfriend. He will do all it takes to claim the money that will thwart his father’s selfish plans. The feisty woman the agency sets him up with, will not stand in his way.

Taylor Shore has more complications in her life than anyone should have to deal with. Guardian to her two half-siblings since their parents’ deaths, she has her hands full with their constant troublemaking. The last thing she needs is to win the prize in a dating agency competition she never entered. Furious to find her friend entered for her, Taylor is determined to send her prize packing. The guy that turns up to stay with her for three weeks, however, has other plans in mind. Refusing to be ordered from her house, the arrogant man offers her a deal she’d be a fool to refuse.

As Rhys inserts himself into Taylor’s problems, he begins to turn her life around. The angry fireworks between them gives way to a passionate love. Just as they find happiness, a vicious lie told by Taylor’s sister breaks them apart. Flo and Lotta have their work cut out for them to bring Rhys and Taylor back together. Time is against them and tragedy lurks on the horizon. Can Flo and Lotta save the day, or will Rhys and Taylor lose the precious love they have found forever….

Although the third book in the series, this can be read as a stand alone novel.

I am a huge reader and have been since I was a child. I love books and the written word. It has been my dream my whole life to be a writer.

I began writing romance books, but have discovered over the years that my true passion is mystery! Every romance book I wrote ended up having a bit of a mystery added to it. Now I have succumbed and am writing mystery with just a hint of romance in it. I couldn't resist adding a paranormal twist! And so The Psychic Eye Mysteries were born.

I have now completed the third book in the series and am working on the fourth with plenty more to come. I have fallen in love with the characters and the places and am thoroughly enjoying exploring the world I am creating. I hope you enjoy delving into it too.

I am not a prolific poster, but I do post now and then with news on my books. If you want to follow me, you won't be bombarded with tons of posts! Promise. All you will get is notification of when a book is coming out and any updates on it, which won't be many. I like to spend the spare time I have writing the books for you to read and hopefully really enjoy.

I loved writing this book. As those who read my blog know, this book has been both my easiest and hardest book to write. I first had the concept of this book almost a year ago when I started writing Wild Fire, the first in this series. I knew this book would be the third, but I also knew it would be a while before I started writing it. Rhys felt like such a special character when I first was inspired by his story. I was extremely excited to write this novel.

I started trying to write Phoenix Rising before Shadow of Suspicion. I actually wrote forty five pages, but I was happy with none of it. Rhys just wasn't showing himself and his relationship with Taylor was completely wrong. In the end I left it alone and wrote the other book first. When I came back to Rhys, I changed many things about his motivation and that changed Taylor's character as well. Several supporting characters from the original forty five pages underwent a dramatic change, although names remained.

What I ended up with was a book that flowed from my head to the page like a dream. I loved every second of Rhys and Taylor's story. It has become my favourite book to date. Rhys finally let his very special personality shine! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I loved writing it. It is the third in The Fairy Tale Match, but you can read the book as a stand alone novel.

This is a story of two people from different worlds, with more in common than they could possibly imagine. Neither one likes the other when they first meet. Rhys wants to obtain his trust fund to save a charity that means everything to him. Taylor wins the match through a competition her friend enters her in. She certainly doesn't want this prize! She already has more on her plate than she can handle.

Taylor is determined to send Rhys packing. He is just as determined to remain and draw Taylor into his plans. What begins as the battle of two stubborn people, turns into a love that dreams are made of.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Who needs Match.com when you can have two match-making fairies that guide you through the twists and turns of love to the very end?
I was drawn into this book from the rich writing. I fell in love with Rhys and felt every emotion he was feeling. The deep, dark scenes drew me in so fully, not only did I experience what the characters were feeling, but I felt like I was in the room with them. Danielle Rose-West has a way of wording things so that everything around you blurs and disappears. By the end of the book, I couldn't put it down and was upset that it was ending. I will miss the characters.
This was my first novel by Danielle and I'd love to read more about the fairy Godmother's match-making stories.

I expected more here it was still good and Ms. Rose-West did a good job but I really was not feeling the chemistry between Rhys and Taylor. Taylor is a judgemental, stubborn, obnoxious, blinded, sitting on her high horse cow. Bless the story and Rhys and Flo and Lotta but Taylor ruined it for me. I know she had it tough bla bla bla but I mean come on her sister was a nasty piece of work and it was not as funny as the first two books.

I am looking forward to Abbey's story though.

Another Fairy Tale Hit

Beautifully orchestrated around a broken family surrounded by destitution and gangs. Brilliant plots and wonderful characters.

I recommend this 100% to anyone looking for a sweet contemporary romance full of simple miracles that are anything but.

Rhys is a guy with a background. He has turned his life around for the better, trying to help others do as he did. Taylor is a young woman caring for her two younger half siblings since the death of their parents 5 years ago. She is having a hard time of it, thanks to trusting the wrong man in her past and the hardships pushing her further away from Claire and Greg. When she wins a contact through the fairytale dating agency, she knows there has been a mistake, but Rhys is determined to help any way he can.

Well, this was a fun read although the heroine was kinda whiny but maybe she deserved to be. She had some tough things to deal with, her younger brother and sister who were brats. She 'won' the Fairy Tale Match thanks to her friend who signed her up and the guy she was matched with was a hunk, of course. He was rich and he needed a pretend girlfriend to get his grandmother to sign over his trust fund. Well, the story went as expected with lots of things you would not expect but except for the crying and overreacting by Taylor, the heroine, it was good. I liked the story and the fairy god mothers were a hoot. This is light reading and you feel good after you finish. If you need a book for the beach, get all three of these. They stand alone.
