To start my review, I'll send a thanks to the author, Muraly Srinarayanathas, the publisher, Forbes Books, and Goodreads for the privilege of winning a digital copy of Between Borders, Beyond Boundaries: Strategies for Authentic Business Engagement in an Interconnected World in a giveaway. I will share my review to Amazon and Barnes & Noble as well.
This memoir/self-help/inspirational book is focused on the author sharing their personal anecdotes, motivational thoughts and opinions, and tips for business skills like networking, speaking, being open to new and unique ideas, and thinking outside of the box. Srinarayanathas employs a method called EIA, "embed, interpret, and act." The first step involves embedding yourself in possibility and in what Eugene Debs called "... the great throbbing world that reaches out in all directions." Once we open ourselves up, we can have an analytical approach to the information gathered. In this step, it's important to ask yourself questions and think deeply about your approach to different situations. Once you've thought, you use that data to act with your best adaptation in order to become a more well-rounded person. These are all great tips for anyone, I think. There is then a section on marketing in both local and global capacities and information on consumer sentiment.
There are other sections on thinking more globally in a business sense and the author uses some examples of global organizations in order to express how this can be beneficial. This would be a great book for those looking to improve their practice of diversity and inclusion practices in the worldplace, in business, and those looking for new and fresh ways to think about their business. There are also lots of quotes that have a deeper meaning and cause you to think more about how you approach your own path in life. Between Borders, Beyond Boundaries is a book about making real and honest relationships in business when working with people from different cultures. Muraly Srinarayana thas shares many stories from his own life and career. He shows that business is not only about smart plans or strong numbers. It is also about people, trust, respect, and listening to each other. The book has many personal stories and clear tips that are easy to follow. One part I really liked was when he talked about slowing down and taking time to learn about a person’s background before starting to work together. This made me think of a project I had with a team in another country. At the beginning, we could not understand each other’s way of working. There were small mistakes and delays. But during coffee breaks and friendly talks, we learned more about each other’s culture. We began to trust each other, and after that, the work became much easier and faster. Muraly explains that even if the world feels more connected today, real understanding does not happen by itself. People from different cultures may see things in very different ways. Between Borders by Muraly Srinarayanathas is an amazing book for entrepreneurs. I found this book through a recommendation I received from an entrepreneur friend who told me this book would help me understand how to apply new strategies to have a broader and global vision for my business. The EIA method is amazing, using this strategy to approach international business to emphasize a good fit supported by culture and adaptation. Something I need to highlight is the authority the author has as a seasonal entrepreneur, that helps relates his journey on these matters with his own personal experiences, on how he experienced this cultural immersion, and how he had to adapt to different cultures such as Asia.

International business as the basis of the discussion makes it very appealing for the reader to get into this very interesting panorama and all through the EIA method, which I had never heard of but which I think is spectacular. What I can highlight the most about this work is clearly the story that the author brings us, because it makes you understand that every success brings behind a tangled and complex situation, something that works as a key foundation for that success that clearly reflects the author.

While I did enjoy this read, I assumed this was going to be more of a guide. I do very much appreciate the personal examples given and the well thought-out explanations, I think I was expecting just a little more on how to be successful in the business world. It's very hard to balance between the personal journey and the how-to and Srinarayanathas nearly achieved it. It was really nice hearing about his success and I will take some of his how-to's with me to be successful in the world.

Great for Business Majors
If you’re thinking of getting a business degree, I highly suggest reading this. It gives you insight into one man’s experience and a bit of insight into different parts of businesses.
That said, I was very much not the target audience. I ended up skimming quite a few chapters that were life story because I wanted to get to the advice sections of each chapter.

Amazing book
This book took a big place in my heart.
Not even in my college career had I learned as much as this book taught me.
What I liked most is that this guide offers strategies for navigating diverse markets such as cultural sensitivity, adaptation as keys to innovation and leadership in an interconnected world.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in these topics. Great reading!

The right tool for the right business
This book is a great tool for any entrepreneur/business seeking to expand internationally. The method of embedding, interpreting, and acting is very eye-opening and could really skyrocket any business. But the steps have to be followed. I got a lot out of the different case studies where we could actually see the method in practice. The value of listening to local markets cannot be understated. Excellent book.

I really liked Between Borders, Beyond Boundaries. The book felt friendly, like hearing inspiring stories from someone you trust. I learned the EIA method (Embed, Interpret, Act), and I can see myself using it when working on a team or helping others.
