It’s fall in New York, arguably the most beautiful time to be in the city, but Bella Russo doesn’t care. After experiencing the unthinkable three times in a row, she gave up on everything, and her husband packed his bags and left.
Thick in the fog of her disappointment, Bella takes a series of DNA tests to find out what’s wrong with her. Little did she know one of her tests would reveal a dark family truth: her grandfather had a secret family, and she has an uncle she never met.
Even though Bella spends every Sunday supper with her family at her Nonna’s deli in Little Italy—famously known for her iconic meatballs—they never told her the truth. Could she trust them to tell her now?
When she researches her uncle, she finds out he owns several restaurants, so she visits one. Her uncle isn’t there, but instead, she ends up butting heads with the executive chef Wyatt Henderson. He’s a little too pretentious for Bella’s taste, and yet, Wyatt is obviously close with the uncle she never knew. Before she fully comprehends what she’s doing, she befriends Wyatt to get her answers.

SUNDAY SUPPER is officially out there in the world. ✨
I’m feeling all kinds of emotions today. The excitement I felt in 2018 when the idea of this story first popped in my head. The heartbreak after heartbreak of possible chances with getting this published in 2020. The defeat of giving up in 2021. The what if earlier this year when I picked it back up…and the falling in love with this story all over again.
I’m proud of all of my books, but this one is something special. It’s my love letter to New York and all things food. I felt challenged re-writing this one, but what came out was a beautiful tale of deep intimacy and what it means to sacrifice and love in a relationship, even beyond the romantic type. And I am so thankful for the challenge.
Enjoy Bella and Wyatt, and your fall trip to New York. Make sure to bring snacks…you’re going to get hungry. 🍝💞
Oh this book took over my evening. And then suddenly it was 1 AM and I was puddle finishing this beautiful story. I loved the way two difficult topics (mentioned in the content warnings below) were handled. The honest and hard conversations were had with raw human emotion and a clear strength of soul.
And let me tell you, this book screams FALL IN NEW YORK. I’ve honestly never had big designs on going to NY but this book might have just convinced me. The setting is beautifully landscaped and had me wishing I was wearing a sweater right now.
THE ROMANCE. Gosh. This is how you write that instant kind of connection. There’s a fantastic slow burn with immediate chemistry. I was all for Bella and Wyatt from the get-go. These two souls who feel so broken about some deep things in their lives and how they finally found that person who seems them as a whole.
There was just the right level of family drama too. I was intrigued and drawn into this family. I loved the journey. I loved this book. Read it!!
Let me start with just saying I freaking loved this book!
I love it when I make a (negative) assumption and am wrong. In this particular case, I was wrong on the meet-cute. I knew the premise. Bella discovers her grandfather had a secret family and, wanting to learn more, visits the restaurant owned by the uncle she’s never met. The chef himself overhears Bella insulting a trendy dish; his dish. This would be the introduction of Bella to Chef Wyatt and how the story would be set in motion. For the sake of honesty, I couldn’t see this being cute or landing right. First off, who the heck do I think I am? Roll your eyes at me. I rolled them at myself as I typed this. SHAME ON ME, I know. I hadn’t even read it yet!
Gah. I was wrong. I. WAS. WRONG. The set-up for why she’d feel entitled to have her opinion, the way Chef handles himself, and the story unfolding from there is flawlessly executed.
Wyatt is the absolute best 👏 don’t come at me, booksta, but Hot Chefs are all the rage right now, and dare I say he’s even better than the other really popular one currently in the book world???
Sunday Supper is open-door, but it has to be. Sinko has addressed some hard topics related to the intimacy between Bella and Wyatt. She did it with gentleness and honesty, and I was so impressed. I will sing the praises of this romance and these characters for a while! In so many ways this is our traditional romance, and yet in some very important ways, it’s so much more.
Again I loved this book!
Seriously, romance lovers don’t sleep on this one!
ARC Review 5/5 Stars 2/5 Spice This was 100% the right book at the right time for me. Marrying into a Chicago-Italian family and spending manyyyy cooking lessons with Nonno and Nonna, this book hit really close to home. K. Sinko 100% did her homework about the restaurant industry, italian cooking, and the sounds and feel of NYC in the fall! It was perfect! Bella and Wyatt were such a delight! I was rooting for both of them the entire time! Their conflicts were grounded and real. The motivations for all their actions made total sense and their story was beautiful to read about. The book does approach some difficult topics like infertility, physical intimacy struggles, family secrets, and it was all handled with such care, grace, and intentionality. Lastly, the romance was straight up SWOONY!!! I'm a sucker for a chef romance and this did not disappoint! "Yes, Chef" is all I will say on the matter.
My goodness, I was captivated by this deeply intimate story.
From the opening meet-cute through the adorable epilogue, this visceral romance took up space in my heart. Wyatt might be the MOST attentive and intentional MMC I’ve ever seen, and I love him for it.
As someone who has experienced multiple miscarriages, I tread lightly when stories involve them. The way Sinko portrayed the feelings of grief and brokenness was genuinely healing for me.
Furthermore, the MMC is dealing with his own health issues that are rarely discussed in the romance universe, and I absolutely loved how she incorporated this within their relationship bond.
Immediately immersed into this little Italian family in New York City, familial love and city atmosphere filled every single page. The family dynamics provided so much heart and levity to this story, and their problems felt realistic.
I also have to say that I’m one of those rare people who doesn’t like NYC. I lived there for one summer, which was enough to make me realize I couldn’t deal with the chaos. So it’s EXTRA impressive that Sinko made me fall in love with NYC through this book, especially seeing the magic of the city through Bella’s eyes.
My one complaint: Lon. I just didn’t find certain aspects involving him believable to their whole picture.
But there are so many extra layers to this book that I adored: the fierce friendships between the MCs and their friends, the therapy rep, and the nitty gritty of moving forwards in your own life. The layers stacked together to create a beautiful balance of deep and lighthearted storytelling.
Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this book to all romance lovers!
Friendly warning: you'll devour “Sunday Supper”. Prepare yourself. Cancel your plans. Lose yourself within the pages of this book.
“Sunday Supper” explores the complexities of family secrets and the power of love to heal old wounds, but with a lighter, more romantic tone reminiscent of another winner in my world “Funny Story” — yes this one is on the level of an EH novel, friends.
The forced proximity and second-chance romance elements resonated with me in “Sunday Supper”, as Bella's unexpected connection with Wyatt unfolds amidst the backdrop of New York City's Little Italy during the best season of them all, Fall.
Kudos to Sinko for tackling tough topics that aren’t often written about in romance novels. I’m in awe of how she was able to write about intimacy issues with such grace and kindness.
“Choosing to love someone has nothing to do with what you think you deserve or don’t deserve. Love is deciding that despite it all, you still choose to love that person forever.”
K. Sinko is amazing. She depicts a perfect fall in NYC with the most lovable characters ever. The coziness of really experience NY makes falling in love with Bella and Wyatt even more fun.
I love how she sheds light on two individuals that think they are broken because their bodies don’t perform how society deems as normal. We read as their past miscarriages, unfaithful partners, and struggles in the bedroom affect their relationship and trust. It is beautiful seeing how they open up to each other and try to get through their issues with each other.
However, it pained me reading how Wyatt continued to let Bella in, while she kept hiding her secrets. I get it though. And I am SO glad that going therapy was included because sometimes we cannot get through things on our own!!
Wyatt and Bella have such a cute relationship. Their quick banter back in forth made me fall in love with them immediately. His confidence and gentleness was oh so swoony. Bella made me so proud for all her times of standing up for herself and getting so strong throughout the book.
All of the side characters have my heart too, except Lon. Screw Lon. Bella’s dad had few moments, but they always made me giggle. I liked him. And man do I love Percy. She is one strong lady that I want to be friends with. Each character was just so fun and I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, K. Sinko writes friendships so so beautifully. Chef’s kiss.
"You take them at their best...and their worst. You don't pick and choose the parts to love and ignore the rest. You choose to love them wholly."
This book is so close to a 5 star for me. K.Sinko writes passages like the one above that hit me so deep. I rarely highlight quotes but I find myself always doing so in her books. That said, I ate this book up...no pun intended! I've never found meatballs so appetizing. LOL I did not get the cravings like I did with Safe Harbor and ice cream however that's probably because I am not a big Italian food lover! K. Sinko has become one of my favorite authors and there is no question after reading Sunday Supper, I will read anything she writes. I feel like her leap into Adult Romance was perfected after The Offer and I love how she writes about real life topics with such intensity and compassion. This is the ultimate fall mood read.
I appreciated her openness about the spicy scenes in the beginning as she highlights the exact chapters to decide for yourself if you want to read or not. Honestly, they weren't bad at all if you don't mind a little open door romance but I also feel you would not miss a thing of the plot if you decide to skip those chapters.
Her writing keeps me captivated every single time and I was completely invested in all the characters from our main to side characters. The MMC aka. "Hot Chef" "Short King" was definitely swoon worthy in the way he treats our FMC with so much love and tenderness.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I can’t express how much I absolutely loved this story. It was so wholesome, sweet, and cozy! I loved Bella and Wyatt so much! Their chemistry was amazing, I loved them joking back and forth constantly, I loved the REAL struggles they each dealt with and how they were eventually able to work through those problems together! I will say, there isn’t much spice and it was so refreshing honestly. I was giddy while reading 99% of this book 🤭
I loved the side characters to pieces as well 🫶🏼
The idea of Sunday suppers with Bella’s family made me so happy. I loved that whole Lonz couldn’t bear to spend his Sundays there, Wyatt was more than willing to change his schedule and be there not just for Bella, but because he enjoyed the fellowship as well! And I could just picture it all perfectly while reading, the smell of marinara, meatballs, and spices- being surrounded by an overwhelming amount of love! And now I just want some of Nonna’s famous meatballs! 😅
I loved Matteo. I know their meeting wasn’t conventional, but I adored his personality and how Bella was able to get to know him while getting glimpses of her Nonno at the same time 🥲
The friendship was a huge highlight for me as well! I was happy that despite the secrets, grief, and confrontation that Bella and Percy’s friendship came out stronger! The two of these ladies loved each other through it all and it was nice to see 🥹💖
Overall, this was the perfect book to start off Fall with. This was my first from this author and I throughly enjoyed her writing and storytelling and I CANNOT wait to read more of her books!
how do i talk about this book without talking about it???
first off, i wanted to thank K. Sinko for the opportunity to be an #arcreader for her new book!! it’s always an honor and a privilege to do something in return for the authors who do so much for me.
this book! did i receive it today? yes. did i finish it today? yes. did i have a 9 hours work shift? yes. but none of that matters! what matters is THIS story and the characters of Bella and Wyatt. Sinko did such a great job creating these characters and this story and making it feel real. i felt like i was reading someone’s story that happened rather than one that was created.
i like that she put specific content warnings in the beginning of her book without being too specific (iykyk). i appreciated the opt-out option for the spicy scenes, as those are not a personal palette favorite (wink) and that she was sensitive to something a LOT of people have struggles with. on that topic, i like that she had a perspective of that struggle from both character’s perspectives, not just one.
overall a good book, a good story, and a good read. i would say quick read, but i’m just a maniac and have the pace of that squirrel on caffeine from over the hedge.
I don’t think there is ever going to be a book that K. Sinko writes that I don’t love. She seriously kills it every time!
Sunday Supper was a great step into seeing how K. Sinko would write adult romances versus her YA ones! The fall vibes were immaculate, the drama was perfection, and I love our short king (Wyatt) 😍 I will never get sick of saying that Italian families are my favorite to read about. The way they are always written just makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside and even when the drama is sad or frustrating, everyone always ends up coming together as a big a family and continues to care for each other. I crave that type of family SO BAD. I loved that the HEA took a bit to get to because I really appreciated that Bella took the time to work on herself and really understand what it takes to make a relationship work and while also learning that she is deserving of everything as well. What’s great about Sunday Supper is that even though I no longer get the kids from her Scoops series and the comfort they brought me, I get a whole new set of family and friends and they feel just as comforting 🥹 I can’t wait to see what else K. Sinko writes!!
Thank you to the author for the arc in exchange for an honest review!
This book!! Ugh! Thank you K. Sinko for giving me early access to this amazingly romantic fall read. I couldn’t have been more obsessed with how the book started, ended, and EVERYTHING that happened in between.
A couple of things I loved: I’ve never read any romance novel that discussed sexual dysfunction in such a sensitive and sexy way! I also enjoyed the stunningly descriptive plates of food that were casually a part of nearly every big moment in the novel. I admired the communication between the two main characters, Bella and Wyatt. The way they guided one another through their respective insecurities and challenges in such a loving and respectful way was so pleasurable to read. I was enthralled with their obsession for one another.
Thanks for giving me the read I had no idea I needed, K. Sinko. I encourage everyone to read this book if they’re looking for a spicy, and delicious, love story.
“Choosing to love someone has nothing to do with what you think you deserve or don't deserve. Love is deciding that despite it all, you still choose to love that person forever."
This book was Chefs Kiss! *wink wink* I love how different this book is compared to her first books. It goes into details about health problems and insecurities that aren't talked about enough in books.
I loved the relationship between Bella and Wyatt so much. They were always there for each other and understood each other and just loved each other so muCh.
I love the Russo family so much! There may have been secrets and fights, but they always ended up working it out together. I love the relationship they have with each other and how they always have Sunday supper together.
Food was talked about so much in this book and it always made me so hungry! definitely make sure to have snacks while you read this because all the talk about meatballs sure will make your stomach grumble 😂
This was the coziest, most wholesome read set in NYC during the fall season! I couldn’t get enough of Bella and Wyatt and loved the storyline following Bella’s family and Wyatt’s life as an executive chef at one of NYC newest hotspots. I loved the importance of family and the Italian tradition of getting together for Sunday supper. Bella and Wyatt’s chemistry was magnetic and their understanding and respect for one another was refreshing. I enjoyed the mystery of uncovering family secrets and liked the strong female friendship between Percy and Bella. Lastly, the ending left me feeling so happy and emotional. Perfetto!
2 stars 🌟 i liveeee for a good meet cute and wyattbella definitely had that 🧑🍳🍝🥯 i really liked how they met and how their relationship took off pretty seemlessly 😊
now where did this all go wrong you might ask…well i would say that the 3rd act breakup was dumb AS FUCK and unbelievably dramatic 😭 sooooo much drama i was rolling my eyes for the entirety of that last 25%
also—bella is better than me (and lowkey a little annoying about this) but i would never have befriended katie after what she did omg i would be pissed for LIFEEEE 🙈
Okay but why was this book so good? I literally binged it and couldn’t stop reading it, I didn’t put it down except to go to the bathroom!
I absolutely loved this book every aspect was just perfectly put together!! And I just couldn’t get enough. I loved the fall aspect but the family secret, the tension and just everything made me fall in love!
So now we know not only can K. Sinko write amazing YA but also amazing romance!!! Read this book because you won’t regret it!
Round up to 4.5! Oh my gosh I LOVED this book. The romance between the two main characters was *chefs kiss* (pun intended). I loved that I also found the rest of the storylines throughout this book just as intriguing and would’ve liked even more of them. Minus .5 stars because the main character, even though I know she was struggling, felt like she had very little regard for her friend and that annoyed me. Otherwise a fantastic read!!
This story is perfect for fall! The autumn in NYC setting was beautiful. I loved the relationship between Bella and Wyatt. I also appreciated that K. Sinko wrote the spice into specific chapters that are listed in the front so it’s easy to skip. The food descriptions were amazing, it definitely made me hungry!
This was the cutest thing ever. Italian Americans? Dante’s in the village? Red wine? Black and white cookies?! I loved it. This book weirdly showed up as an add on insta, and I’m glad I was targeted because it was perfect for me!
Pleasantly surprised by this little kindle unlimited read! Once I got into it I basically read it in one sitting. Loved the fall NYC vibes, plot was moving and grooving along, & the characters had some umph to them! overall really enjoyed
It’s official! I will read ANYTHING K. Sinko writes. I absolutely adore her characters, the depth of her stories, and her beautiful prose!
Sunday Supper is the ultimate foodie romance (is that a thing??) and I felt completely transported to New York. I’m ready to visit Little Italy—and gosh dang it, some one get me some meatballs, stat! I need to see what the hype is all about! 😂
Wyatt is an AMAZING love interest for Bella, and watching them fall head over heels for each other was a delight. This is an instance of “he falls first”—and boy, does he fall hard.
She grinned. “You’re so obsessed with me.” “Bella.” He dipped down and cradled her in his arms, his head burrowing into her neck. “You have no idea.”
I love that they both deal with real world struggles and figure things out, together and separately. And I love the focus on family, both found and biological! But mostly I was completely swept away by the storytelling. This author knows what she’s doing!
If you loved the chef energy in Seven Year Slip, read this! If you loved the best friend relationship in Just for the Summer, read this! And if you just want to escape to NYC for a bit this fall…read this book!
Content Notes: -Adult, sexual innuendo and descriptions throughout -2 open door scenes with content warning at beginning of book for when to skip -Moderate use of strong language -Potential TW, also disclosed at beginning of book
Absolutely obsessed. Like actually loved this book so much. Wyatt, my short king!!! I’ll be honest, yes I am a Carmy berzatto girly, and yes I did picture Wyatt as Jeremy Allen white, but!! Wyatt is definitely not as toxic as Carmy 😂
“Forgiveness is one of the many ingredients it takes to being in love. Forgiveness from your partner…and forgiveness toward yourself.”
“Yes, Chef.”
Adorable. Heartwarming. Tender. Real. Delicate. I devoured this in one sitting!
Bella and Wyatt are wholesome and somehow I didn’t mind the meatball banter between them- yes, actual banter about actual meatballs. Sounds lame, but it had me literally lol-ing.
Bella, who has willing put herself through countless blood tests to try and figure out answers to certain health issues, uncovers a massive family secret- a secret uncle that is! In her attempt to find out more about this secret uncle, she meets her “Yes, Chef.” guy, Wyatt- who is our confident and charming short king.
I couldn’t get enough of the visualizations of NYC in the fall! I loved seeing it through a locals perspective, and l now I’m finding myself planning a weekend trip so I can pretend I’m a local too 😂
We cover some heavy and generally under discussed topics in Sunday Supper and that held a lot of appeal for me.
