No One Promised Me Tomorrow

Rate this book
In the bustling docklands of a post-war city comes a story of unrivalled strength and courage — and one mother who will risk everything to protect her daughter.

Southampton, 1926. Lily Pickford has fought tooth and nail to create a life for herself and her daughter that is far removed from her troubled past. And now Lily is the proud owner of Club Valletta, a thriving establishment in a city reeling from economic hardship.

But when a financial catastrophe leaves her on the brink of ruin, Lily must take a risk. She adds a gambling club to her bar that attracts questionable patrons. It could save her livelihood — or destroy everything she’s worked for.

Lily will not sit by idly and accept a life neither she nor her daughter deserves.

The club thrives and money rolls in, along with the unwanted attention of Quinn Gifford, a well-known criminal who takes an immediate interest in Lily. Her rejection only forces Quinn’s obsession with Lily to grow.

But when a man enters her life and reawakens feelings she thought she’d long since buried, Lily finds herself caught between a man who won’t take no for an answer and someone slowly bringing down the walls around her heart.

Lily’s luck is bound to run out soon . . . But how far will she be forced to go to protect herself and her daughter?

From Bad Times To Good

The hard times were not fun to take but the good times made it worthwhile . Help came just in time for a good ending.
