Time is running out for Scarlett Prynne and Runeclaw to save the captives of the Luminous Veil.
Despite their efforts to disrupt the Veil’s plans, they’re still marching toward their ultimate goal. Whatever that is. It obviously involves the mind control collars, but creating an army of menial servants seems less than ambitious. And if there’s one thing that Camus and the Veil have in plenty, it’s dark ambition.
Amber is using her infomancy to try to track down leads, Snow is working on figuring out the collars’ magic, and Maddox is forever upgrading and repairing Dusk Runner so Scarlett can take the motorcycle back into battle. Are they all just waiting for the other shoe to drop?
They have one lead, but the sand is ticking out on that particular hourglass. The tracer they’d placed on Kingston Trane will expire soon, and it only leads to the location of the next Veil atrocity.
However, Scarlett has always been good at getting into trouble. It’s her own dangerous kind of GPS. This time, the trouble will be the biggest yet, culminating in a final fight that she’d better be sure she’ll win.
What she doesn’t know is going to try to kill her. Camus has been preparing for years to deal with such a challenge.
Can Scarlett and Runeclaw survive? Can they even prevail? As options dwindle, it seems less and less likely.
But a wise person never bets against a witch, her cat, and her crew.
For action, magic, snarky banter, martial arts, mystical creatures, and a dash of mystery, join Scarlett and Runeclaw on their next adventure.
I’m TR Cameron, science fiction author. I’ve been an avid consumer of the genre since I was six, I think, when I broke the seal on my Dad’s copies of the Asimov Foundation books. It’s been all downhill since then.
I have a day job that I love most days, and writing is pretty much my only consistent hobby. When I find time that’s not already filled with my wife, my daughter, my writing, my work, or dodging the affections of our clowder of cats, you can find me playing video games (currently Dishonored 2 – I’m a little behind the times on this one), watching things (Marvel movies, American Gods, Agents of Shield, Justified, The Expanse, Gotham), playing board games, or, naturally, reading.
My favorite authors in Sci-Fi are David Weber, Jean Johnson, John Scalzi, CJ Cherryh, and the giants: Asimov, Pohl, Bear, Heinlein, etc. I read a lot in other genres too, and am a big fan of Matthew Woodring Stover, Michael Anderle, Jim Butcher, and I could go on and on and on. If I had to choose one favorite, though, it would be Stephen R. Donaldson, whose Thomas Covenant series was transformative for me.
Probably my pie-in-the-sky dream for my writing career is that someone would make a movie or television show of my books and I could be a part of the production. Sure, unlikely, but a clowder-dodger can dream, right? My more practical dream is that I can keep writing and both entertaining and connecting with my readers for years and years to come.

As usual, the Bald Baddies, and especially the Leader of the Luminous Veil, who Scarlett calls 'Red', for the robes he wears, are really determined to conclude the plans they have spent years slowly, but surely, building up.
But, of course, there are plots within plots, and it turns out that Red has been working on his own plans that, once concluded, will give total control over to him, alone.
I guess that's what you get when you plot with others as dreadful as yourself! Lol
Scarlett, Runeclaw, and the wonderful people of the Witches on Wheels, and the Spell Riders, know something major is going to happen, and very soon, and so they start to plot together, to try and cover all the bases that each of them can think of.
But, when the final confrontation begins, it will be totally different to anything they might have imagined!
As usual, the fight scenes were awesome and, even for me, as someone who avoids physical confrontation at any cost, I could follow the movements, and got a really good picture in my mind, as to what was going on, which I loved - I'm definitely a much braver person in my imagination! Lol
This final book rolled along with some exciting action, then some calmer scenes, leading on to the crescendo of the final confrontation, and it all merged beautifully, rather like listening to a symphony.
It had everything I've come to expect from the LMBPN stable of authors, and I was left, at the end, with a great sense of accomplishment, as though I, too, had been fighting alongside my new favourite group.
But, as things have to, the book ended - on a high note, if I continue the music analogy - and things were left slightly open, I believe in case of further adventures.
So, now that I've finished this series, I wasn't sure which one to choose next, so I decided to go for the one recommended to me, recently, by a friend.
This is a series set in a modern Romance genre - something I've not read since I was a teenager, and discovered Fantasy and Sci-fi, so over 40 years ago. But I promised her I'd give it a fair go, and so I shall, even though she tells me the books are a little 'spicy'! Lol
So, I'll be starting the 'Hello' series, written by Kelsie Hoss, with Book One being 'Hello Single Dad'.
Once I've finished it, i'll catch you on the flip side, and let you know what I think about the more modern Romance story! Lol
A fine and fitting ending for an even better story.
Well, this series ended with the exact imagery I’d had in mind from nearly the first book. So I certainly can’t claim to be disappointed.
It will be a shame to bid this series farewell, even though TR does have another series in the works already. I will have to say that this series ties with Federal Agents of Magic for first place on my personal rankings list for Cameron’s Oriceran books.
I have been trying all the way along to identify what it is about this series that resonates so strongly with me, but I remain at a loss. The answer lies somewhere in the broad expanse that he employed for showing us Scarlett’s character. It has SOMETHING to do with the style in which he portrayed her. Maybe, and I’m not sure, it’s the vulnerability she demonstrates. I recently re-read the FAM series, and I had forgotten just how vulnerable they all were in that first series, regardless that they ultimately turned into the biggest “Monty Hall” characters one can imagine. At the beginning though, before all their upgrades and personal AI, they were often quite vulnerable and insecure.
In the end, though, it doesn’t matter, because regardless of what it resonate with me, I have every confidence that you’ll connect with it as well, and then you’ll find your own reasons for loving it and mine really won’t matter at that point.
Scarlett, Runeclaw and their friends have finally got an idea where the kidnapped girls are being held, and it will take all of them to perform the rescue and end the baldies. As usual there are plenty of fights and lots of humor in this book. I am sorry the series has ended, but the author did a great job and I am looking forward to what he comes up with for his next series.
Good series ending. Somewhat contained (thankfully) on the snarky/stupid comments between Runeclaw and Scarlett. I continued to skim most of them since they were annoyingly repetitive. Long Techno-emersion with Amber - per usual. It didn't seem to make a lot of sense. Some overlap with Cara and Rath but very short. Overall, closing the remaining threads but some things just seemed to be checks in the box and not really fleshed out. Good to finish this off.
TR has written some interesting characters here. I like the world he developed as well. The idea of witches riding motorcycles was kewl. I wonder if TR rides?
Lots of possibilities. It always seems to me like something is missing or a bit unfinished at times but overall, well done!
This was a very good series. Great characters, who evolved into a big family. Very good story line. Each book is complete in itself and a part of the story arc. Plenty of action and suspense. Already hoping there will be another series with these characters. Recommended.
This eighth book in the highly entertaining The Nomad Witch series was an excellent finale.
Scarlett and Runeclaw took on the big bad Camus, and what a battle it was.
I would happily read more of Scarlett, Runeclaw and Lins adventures as they travel the open road on their respective bikes. I highly recommend this book / series.
Thanks for a very enjoyable series, kept me going from b4 Christmas to New Year 2025. Thanks for such a fun set with loads of different variables thrown in. Liked the Dusk Rider what a magical tool to get from A to B. All the great elements all neatly wrapped. Highly recommended.
I read the series, was introduced to others characters from other series written by T.R. Cameron and ended up reading the other series as well. Great story lines and a love for the partners of the main character. Well written and great story telling. Thank you for allowing us a glimpse into your world, Mr. T.R. Cameron
If you like snarky bike riders. Then these books are right down your road. Long bike rides, snarky banter and edge-of-your seat fights. And a talking cat is just the cherry on top of everything else.
I've had so much fun reading about Scarlett and Runeclaw! All the snide comments are hilarious. The adventures are great, and the battles epic! I can't wait to read more about them and all their friends!
Excellent characters! I can see some of my friends in them. Insulting one another and stepping up as support. Some of the little actions or phrases. Like Rath’s, “Here kitty, kitty!” Had me in stitches.
From the first book to the last, I couldn’t put it down. It stayed entertaining to the very end! If there were 8 more books, I would continue to read every one.
