Ginger Chambers was born in Texas, USA. She had no plans to become a writer while she was growing up. But she always loved words and stories, so it was only natural that the inevitable happened, when she published her first romance novel in 1981. After writing over thirty books, Ginger still loves the profession she was ultimately drawn to. She considers it one of the great joys of her life to be able to create characters that come to life on the page and place them in situations that entertain her, as well as her readers. She authored the popular seven-book series The West Texans.
Her two children now grown, Ginger makes her home with her husband near the beautiful Pacific in Northern California. Ginger loves to hear from readers. You can reach her through her web site or email her and at gingerchambers@sbcglobal.net
I found this book to be easy reading. Cassie felt she didn't belong in Love,Tx. She was ashamed of who she was in the end found love and reality came in and played a wonderful role in her later days. Would recommend any romantic to read.
Could have been 4 stars but I could not stand all the unfinished thoughts or interruptions. I understand when it comes from one character but many is too disruptive of the story. I just don't like it when - . There were just too many of them in the story.
This book was so romantic and a good story. You could feel the emotion like you were there. I always feel though they could leave out some of the details that just serve to make the book longer.
Cassie grew up in Love, Texas with her eccentric mom. Cassie was embarrassed by her mom all growing up, so she just assumed EVERYONE thought she was a lunatic... Therefore, Cassie closed herself off to people her whole life but perceived it as the town shutting her out. There was a group of boys, however, who pretty much tormented her. She was accosted by them one day and Will came to her rescue. As soon as she turned 18, she high-tailed it out of Love and headed to Houston. Now she works for a wealthy man who buys real estate as investments and he has his eye on a trip of the Taylor ranch in Love and he wants Cassie to go there and make it happen.
Will's family has been on this land for over 120 years. He went to college, but had to leave before graduation when his dad died suddenly and Will had to take over running the family ranch. Times have been tough the last few years and the ranch's future is in serious jeopardy. They have had to resort to opening up their house to visiting tourists and leasing land to hunters in order to make ends meet. Will has been so focused on keeping the family ranch that he hasn't spent any time looking for a woman. When Cassie shows up with her boss's offer, Will is definitely interested in the offer, but he's almost more interested in Cassie herself.
Cassie has pretty much been in love with Will since the day he saved her from the group of boys tormenting her. When she shows up at the ranch to stay there while negotiating the land deal, she's instantly reminded of how Will makes her feel.
These two are shocked by the intensity of their feelings toward each other, and neither one of them REALLY know how to handle it. Once the deal is finally sealed and the contracts signed, Cassie flees back to Houston to determine whether or not her feelings toward Will are real.
This story was very sweet. I liked Cassie and I enjoyed her journey of self-discovery as she came to realize her perception of her mother and her life in Love wasn't completely accurate. And I really enjoyed Will. He's sexy, which is a requirement for a Texas cowboy, and has a heart the size of Texas, which is a requirement of any sweet romance story. I thoroughly enjoyed their journey as they discovered their feelings for each other and what they wanted for their lives. When they finally admitted their undying love for each other, my heart completely swelled!
This was a well-written, clean romance, with a good storyline and defined characters. I don't usually read contemporary romances, especially westerns, but this was definitely worth the read.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily offering my honest review.
THIS BOOK SHOWCASES SOME OF THE HARSHNESS OF RANCH LIFE, HOW HARD IT CAN BE JUST TO HOLD ON AND WHY SOME PEOPLE LOVE DOING IT. CASSIE'S KNOWS RETURNING TO HER OLD HOME TOWN,OF LOVE,TEXAS, IS GOING TO BE VERY DIFFICULT FOR HER. SHE FINDS LOOKING AT HER CHILDHOOD THROUGH ADULT EYES CAN BE A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE. THIS TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE WILL CHANGE HER AND HER FUTURE FOREVER. I LOVE HOW THE CHARACTERS WERE SO WELL WRITTEN, I FELT I REALLY KNEW THEM.
