To everything there is a season…

In their almost forty years together, Zoe Wingfield and Spencer Andersen have experienced all the seasons of love. Yet when the rabble-rousing East Coast hippie and the levelheaded Wisconsin farm boy first met, they couldn't have been more wrong for each other. Nevertheless, the young lovers seized all the possibilities life had to offer and carved out a little slice of heaven on earth—successful careers, service to the public, a beautiful family, a dream home. Even when the strength of their union was tested, they endured. Two people so different in so many ways, proving that true love can overcome anything.

This is my 1st book I have read by Anna Schmidt. I enjoyed the characters and getting to know them, but I do not like the format when it goes back and forth through the years. So I read the book, enjoyed the characters, and only gave it a 3 star as I walked away not enjoying the book as a whole. I like to put a book down when I am done saying "that was a good read" and have a happy or good feeling, this did not happen.

They are sixty years old, 40 years of marriage they have been through it all. Now her beast cancer was back, and they drifted back over their life together. He had been Wisconsin farm boy that went to VeitNam, she had been a anit-war protester, somehow they had made it work.

Wonderful touching book, I cried almost all the way through it.
