An American heiress with a fiery spirit. An English engineer with a revolutionary mind. Chance meetings, where love and ambition collide.
Harriet Crocker, an American heiress, has her sights set on England, determined to secure a titled husband and prove her worth to her powerful father. Overwhelmed with the whirlwind of London’s social season, a Christmastide house party offers a welcome respite. However, when a fierce winter snowstorm derails her journey, it leads her into an unexpected encounter with a handsome stranger, whose reserved demeanor masks a brilliant mind and a passionate heart.
Thane Bradbury, a somewhat reserved yet gifted engineer, has spent the last few years investing in the building of one of England's first steam engines, a project close to his heart. Leaving his family for the first time since his father’s death, he seeks respite at the same house party and longs for a break from the relentless demands of his work.
The moment he encounters the mysterious Harriet, he is captivated by her wild spirit and her unconventional charm. Their connection continues to deepen with each shared moment until a revelation threatens to cast shadows of doubt on their intentions toward one another.
As their trust wavers and discoveries emerge, they must both navigate societal expectations and family loyalties, all while trying to ignore the pull of their hearts. Can their friendship and love survive the pressures of their worlds, or will they forge a new path, fueled by their desire for something more?
“I’ve always been a man of logic, of machines, and of drawings. But you… you have turned my world upside down. Without all the pieces to the engine, it is a lifeless, worthless, yet expensive piece of equipment. You have shown me that a heart needs all of its parts to truly run. And my heart, without you, is missing its most vital piece.”
☕️ Release date: December 5, 2024 ☕️ . . . When a snow storm lands Mr. Bradbury in the path of Miss Crocker (quite literally 🤭) and he wakes up to behold the face of an angel, he has no choice but to become instantly entranced by her captivating beauty. For how could any man not fall head over heels for a woman possessing eyes as blue as forget-me-nots and hair whiter than moonlight in a midnight sky? Theirs was a love destined from the beginning 🤍
Miss Crocker, an American heiress possessing a passionate and fiery spirit, came to England in hopes of securing a titled husband. As fate would have it, she happened upon the most handsome gentleman in an abandoned cabin in the middle of a snow storm. Fate being what it was, they were both headed to the same party where they would have endless opportunities to spend time in one another’s company.
I loved Harriet’s (Miss Crocker) outspokenness and brashness beings she was from America and not used to the customs of English society. Thane (Mr. Bradbury) getting all flustered about it made it all the more better! He was able to get his revenge, though, when he was able to fluster her right back 🤭 All of their time spent together was positively heartwarming!
The friendships formed in this book were of the dearest sort ♥️ I loved watching the love blossom between couples and the fondness and affection between new friends.

What a great story!! I have loved Harriet and Thane ever since they first appeared in “Mischief for Christmas” and have been waiting for their story. They also appear in “A Flower for Mr. Wynters.” Their story did not disappoint! I loved it so much! Now a lot of the first part of the book recaps “Mischief for Christmas” but from Harriet and Thane’s perspectives, which is fun. There is new information as well. I do recommend reading Mischief for Christmas before this one, to get a better grasp on what’s going on with the others involved in the story. I don’t think it’s necessary to read “A Flower for Mr Wynters” in order to understand this story but you should still read it, because it’s great. Anyway, Harriet is amazing! I love her spunk and this she is so fun and hilarious. I also really liked Thane, and how hard he works. I loved getting to see more about their families and what they do, which involves steam engines. Thane and Harriet are a great couple and I loved seeing them get their story. Overall, I really loved this book and definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

An Heiress For My. Bradbury (The Wyntercrest Series Book #2) by: Michelle Angus @authormichelleangus
"I would hope that you can trust that my only interest is in you.”
~An American heiress with a fiery spirit. An English engineer with a revolutionary mind. Chance meetings, where love and ambition collide...
“Thane had never fallen in love with a woman before; but his heart had longed to be near Harriet again; to see her smile; to hear her voice. Her very presence was a balm for his very soul. He just hoped that Harriet felt the same.”
-An Heiress For My. Bradbury, is book #2 in the delightful Wyntercrest Series. While it can be read as a stand alone, my suggestion is to not just read this book. Start with book one! You will love it! Now, you will love An Heidess For Mr. Bradbury, because it is a clean historical romance. It is weaves delightfully with enemies to lovers, endearing Fiesty and ambitious characters, forbidden love, second chances, a grand gesture, delightful humor, swoony moments, sparks of great chemistry, I choose you, and so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed watching dear Thayne and Harriet must both navigate societal expectations and family loyalties, all while trying to ignore the pull of their hearts, to each other. I loved that right from the moment Thayne encounters the mysterious Harriet, he is completely and utterly captivated by her wild spirit and her unconventional sweet charm. 🙌🏻📚💙Simply put, this quick but, delightful tale, is worth the read, my friends!

⋆𐙚₊˚⊹♡ plot harriet, an american heiress seeking a titled husband, finds herself unexpectedly drawn to thane, a brilliant but reserved engineer. their connection blossoms amidst the backdrop of a winter house party, but secrets and societal expectations threaten to tear them apart. as they navigate their feelings and the pressures of their respective worlds, they must decide whether their love can withstand the test of time.
⋆𐙚₊˚⊹♡ my review i didn't expect to be so captivated by this historical romance! the story is both heartwarming and intriguing, with a well-paced plot and engaging characters. harriet and thane are both flawed and relatable, making their journey all the more compelling.
the author skillfully weaves in historical details, creating a vivid and immersive world. the christmastide setting adds a cozy and festive atmosphere. the characters are well-developed and evolve throughout the story. i particularly enjoyed the growth of harriet and thane's relationship, as they navigate societal expectations and personal challenges.
overall, this book is a delightful read for fans of historical romance, or even if you're just trying new genres (like me!) if you enjoy stories with heartwarming romances and a touch of mystery, i recommend this book.
this book got released today, so check it out if u like!!
pre-review 2024.11.30 this book was my first historical/regency romance and i enjoyed it
What a fun historical romance! This is my first historical from Ms. Angus and I am excited to read more! This is the second in the series, but I read it as a standalone. Though I do wish I had read the first book, it was easy to jump into this one! Harriet was so fun! I admired her vibrancy and her courage. She was not easily deterred. She had a strong personality and was unafraid of standing out in social settings. Harriet seemed to connect with people quickly and it was so fun to read about her getting to know other characters. She was so sweet with Amelia and I loved their friendship. Thane was a sweetheart! He worked so hard and I loved his relationship with his family. He really cared for them and did his best to support them, even though they had gone through some difficulties. He and Amelia were so cute! I loved their little schemes together to support their friends and how they genuinely enjoyed each other’s company. It felt very genuine! There was a lot of twists and turns in this story! Even though it was over a relatively short time period in the story, it was full of adventures and surprises. I loved the way that hints were shown early in the story of connections and how things would unfold. It definitely picked up in the second half and I could not put it down as things were revealed! Thane and Amelia’s relationship felt very natural and I loved how she also got to know his family. The Wynters were lovely and I cannot wait to read more about them. Overall, this was a very sweet historical romance set around the holidays. It has only kissing. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review
This was such a sweet, sweet story! Harriet, a charming American heiress, heads to London for her season, while Thane, a hardworking engineer, arrives in London on a friend’s invitation. Their chance encounter sparks a connection neither of them expected, and watching their feelings grow—quickly but tenderly—was such a joy. When they finally acknowledge what’s happening between them, the moments are so sweet—and those kisses? Swoonworthy! Just as their relationship begins to blossom, a looming misunderstanding threatens to derail everything they’ve begun to build.
The slow burn here is beautifully done. Michelle expertly immerses you in Thane and Harriet’s friendship first, giving you the chance to fully enjoy their growing feeliings. On top of that, the side characters and their own love stories add so much charm and keep the story lively. I absolutely loved the instant connection between Thane and Harriet—and that first kiss? Perfection! 💋
If you’re looking for a sweet Regency romance filled with witty banter, heartfelt letter writing, a touch of matchmaking, and a friends-to-lovers dynamic—with no spice but plenty of swoonworthy moments—this book is for you!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, and this review reflects my honest opinion.
This is a kisses only Regency Era romance and the third story about these characters. The first is a novella connected with a different series. (Mischief for Christmas) The other is the first in this series. (A Flower for Mr. Wynters) I think it is helpful to have read those other books because I think this story is taking place at the same time as those. Both of those couples get together in this book. Even though I had read the two previous books, I was getting confused with those storylines. Maybe it would have been easier if I had binged them back to back. I can appreciate the author's intent with including them here though as well.
This is a long book. It took me much longer than usual to read it. Partly because of a busy time in life, partly because of an injury that made finding a comfortable reading position difficult and partly because the story was so long. Sometimes it seemed like too much was going on. There are 4 engagements in this book!
I did enjoy the story. It is not your traditional Regency romance though. It has elements of romcom and propriety is often not adhered to. It makes for an entertaining book but probably not historically accurate for those that are concerned about those things.
I was given an opportunity to read an advanced digital copy of this book by the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
In December, I put An Heiress for Mr. Bradbury down because I was in a reading slump. I was enjoying the story but was struggling to want to read anything. This month I picked it back up to read and absolutely loved it.
Harriet and Thane were amazing characters. Even when she was mad at him, you could tell it was hurting her just as much as him.
I really like the writing style of Michelle Angus. Everything is lite hearted and just a nice, easy read.
An Heiress for Mr. Bradbury by Michelle Angus is a delightful regency romance book that delivers. the. swoon. Mr. Bradbury and Miss Crocker are opposites – he is a British engineer and she is an American heiress. Everything from their mannerisms to their expectations in life are different. However, their journey from friends to lovers is full of engaging moments that kept me turning the pages and being left with a huge smile at the end!
Things to love: The meet cute! Matchmaking Blindfolds and Secret passages Miss Crocker’s gloves Coming to the rescue “Friend” The Roof First Kiss Christmas presents Grand gesture
There are so many moments that tugged at my emotions – the writing style is incredible and full of wonderful descriptions that made me feel like I was in the story. The secondary characters add a lot of depth to the story and the ending was full of surprises. From start to finish, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!
An Heiress for Mr. Bradbury is the second book in the Wyntercrest series, and can be read as a standalone, but with all of the amazing characters, reading book 1 is recommended as well. I can’t wait for book 3!!!
If you are looking for an entertaining ride full of unexpected twists and turns, look no farther!
I will never tire of American’s causing havoc on and in proper English society. This story provided that in spades.
Miss Harriet Crocker, the American heiress, is beyond ecstatic to finally get to go to London! Never in her dreams did she think she’d meet her match during the first social event she attended.
Mr. Thane Bradbury has poured everything, including all his family estate’s money, into developing a steam engine. Nothing holds his attention more than making this venture come to fruition. That is, until Harriet comes along.
Thane and Harriet become thick as thieves during a short house party. When his work conflict’s with her family back in America, can their friendship survive long enough to find out if it is love?

Review: This was a nice read. The romance was very fun to read, they had a good friendship building before they got together, and their conversations just deepened their connection. Harriet is a flirt, claiming her American heritage was her excuse to get away with it 😂 and seeing her flirt with Thane and challenge the social norms he grew up with was hilarious. He eventually became used to it, but it was funny to know his internal monologue and how he struggled with her "Americanness"😅
We also follow a historical event, the creation of the steam engine. It is not the focus of the story however it does play an important role in the story to both our main characters.
There is a third act conflict (😒) which brought the book down for me. There was one conflict previously that was handled well and like adults, but the second one was not in my opinion. I would've like the story better if that was excluded.
***I have received this book as an arc in exchange for an honest review***
Harriet is a young American woman who travels to London to spend a season in England. When she is invited to a house party of a respected family, she happily accepts. But when adventurers strikes and Harriet and her maid are forced to wait out a storm in a shack, they are surprised to find a man in a dire situation after being in the elements too long. I loved Harriet’s way of being unapologetically herself at all times. She was funny and a good friend. She defended others and was open and honest about her feelings. The way she embraced those feelings for Thane instead of finding reasons why they shouldn’t be together, despite the different social standings, really made me like her!
Thane is a young man with the world on his shoulders. After losing his father and taking over providing for his mother and three younger sisters as well as being a business entrepreneur, he is very busy! I loved his humor and devotion to those he cared for! His relationship with the Wynter brothers made me laugh several times! I loved the variety of ways he put Harriet first, whether it was accepting her help, writing letters if he couldn’t be there in person, or his words of assurance, he was always ready to make sure that Harriet knew how important she was to him.
Now I can’t wait to read about Tav! He made me laugh so many times in this book and I think he’s story will be so entertaining!
What a wonderful, closed door, regency read. I absolutely fell in love with every character that was introduced. They each felt so real and each had their own little quirks. The last chunk of the book had such a twist that I was unable to put it down until it was finished. I feel like there were elements of Emma, Pride and Prejudice, all the good stuff. It was just a feel good read, but heavy on the swoon! I highly recommend it!
When a snowstorm throws Mr. Bradbury literally into Miss Crocker’s path, fate sparks an unforgettable love story. Thane awakens captivated by Harriet’s beauty, while Harriet, a spirited American heiress, is drawn to the charming engineer despite her plans to marry into English society. Their banter and undeniable chemistry make every moment between them a joy to read.
I loved Harriet’s fiery personality and Thane’s endearing fluster as they challenged and balanced each other perfectly. Their slow-burn romance, filled with heartfelt letters, witty exchanges, and swoonworthy kisses, made this story impossible to put down.
With a delightful mix of friendship, love, and just a touch of matchmaking, this sweet Regency romance will leave you smiling. Perfect for fans of closed-door romance with plenty of heart!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, and this review reflects my honest opinion.
I love all of Michelle’s books and I’ve been waiting for Harriet’s book since this time last year. Harriet and Thane are such opposites but compliment and balance each other perfectly. She understands him emotionally, but also his job and saves the day. Harriet is a refreshing take on a regency era FMC that you don’t usually see in both where she is from and her personality. The glove slapping bits are honestly the best in the book and they made me laugh so hard (because, ladies, we’ve all been there). And the way Thane came to Harriet’s rescue with the roof? Swoon worthy. You don’t have to read any of the other books to understand what is going on but I would recommend you do only because it does tie in to the other books so it makes it more enjoyable. I can’t wait to see where the series goes next (p.s. the title is already out there) and I can’t wait to see what mischief happens in the next book!
Michelle Angus combines warmth, humor, feistiness & romance in all the best ways! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed her Regency Romances. Think Jen Turano but Regency England. An Heiress for Mr. Bradbury was a delightful read with a feisty, lovable American heroine & a reserved, English engineer. Their chance meeting seems like fate when a snowstorm brings them together & they find out they’re both headed to the same house party. But, when societal expectations & devastating secrets arise, will their romance survive?
American heiress Harriet Crocker finally has the chance to visit England. She’s determined to snag a titled gentleman to impress her father after a disastrous incident at a ball. While traveling to a house party for Christmas, she rescues a handsome, stranded stranger during a snowstorm. Their attraction is instant, and as they get to know each other over the course of the party, their friendship is solidified, but Harriet wants more. Can she convince the reserved Mr. Bradbury to offer her more than friendship?
Thane Bradbury’s a talented engineer who’s been working for years on a prototype steam engine. Needing a respite after his father’s death & demanding responsibilities, he accepts an invitation to a house party. When he meets Harriet, he’s immediately captivated by her unconventional American ways, her ethereal beauty, & wit. As they grow closer, he worries he’s far beneath her station. When a letter threatens to tear them apart, will he have the courage to fight for her love?
I loved Harriet & Thane! Harriet’s adorable, feisty, confident manner was so much fun to read. I loved the ways she discombobulates Thane. But, once Thane gets his bearings, he gives it right back. I enjoyed their planning to help Harriet’s fast friend Amelia, their exploring secret passages, & a hilarious game of blindman’s bluff. Their first kiss was amazing especially after so many almost kisses. Their friendships with the other characters also added to the charm of this story.
This book takes place at the same time as Mischief for Christmas & A Flower for Mr. Wynters. While it can be read as a standalone, it’s more enjoyable if you’ve read the previous books. Highly recommend to Regency romcom fans! I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author but also purchased a copy from Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are my own & voluntarily provided.
Before I begin, I would like to thank Michelle Angus for allowing me to read her upcoming book, An Heiress for Mr. Bradley, which is the second book of her Wyntercrest series and will be available on Amazon on December 5th, 2024.
American heiress Harriet Crocker wants to go to England to find a rich husband and make her father proud. When she’s in London, she accepts the invitation to a house party and finds herself trapped in an abandoned cottage with her maid and a handsome stranger. Thane Bradbury is a reserved but talented engineer that has spent the last few years investing in the development of England’s first steam engines. Tired of working too many hours, he decides to go to the same house party for a break. Each time he and Harriet interact; their connection seems to strengthen until they discover something amiss. Can Harriet and Thane balance social norms and familial loyalties, resulting in their romantic relationship becoming even stronger? Better yet, if they do succeed, will their relationship be limited by societal expectations or will they define their love and lives for themselves?
I loved this book. You have Harriet, a sassy, charming, beautiful, and honest young woman that cares deeply about her loved ones and doing the right thing. You have Thane, a hardworking, skilled, earnest, and handsome young man that does his best to provide for his family and collaborate with his colleagues. It was lovely seeing familiar faces from the first book of the series, A Flower for Mr. Wynters, whose events were parallel to this story. The interactions between Thane and Harriet were sweet and funny and their protectiveness towards their family and friends was admirable. There are a couple of plot twists that surprised me, and how the characters responded were beautifully written. Overall, if you like great banter, humor, complex characters, healthy relationships, and sweet historical romance with low amounts of spice, then I would highly recommend this book. 👩🏼🤭🤣I adored the very bold, Harriet. She is honest to a fault, stubborn, and quite hilarious. Her sassiness cracks me up. Miss Crocker (Harriet) has a sharp wit about her. I sure wouldn’t want to get on her bad side, or you may get a slap across your cheek. Harriet had me laughing out loud throughout. Don’t let that piece fool you, she is a sweet young lady. I loved the loyalty and kindness she shared with her friends and family.
👱🏼♀️👩🏼🥰loved the close friendship that formed between Amelia and Harriet. They reminded me of sisters, sharing all the happenings going on.
👱🏼♂️Thane was a true gentleman. He was proper, honest, and dignified. Thane should be praised for being dedicated, dependable, and an extremely strong work ethic. He is going above and beyond while working on the steam engine drawings. I thought it was so tender hearted how he was toward his family. Thane loved his family and was truly devoted to them. Harriet grew to love the Wynter’s family as well. He helped his family however he could including helping his little sister, Jane out of a pickle.
🇺🇸I thought it was cute, honorable, and humorous when Harriet had to remind others that she was an American. She certainly wasn’t shy about letting people know of her ways.
👩❤️💋👨I loved the time Harriet and Thane spent together. It was so heartwarming. Their relationship felt very genuine. It was nice to see their relationship grow slowly. It was fun to watch it shine. They wove their way through society and their own challenges and continued on the journey of a budding relationship. Sure, they had some bumps, but they became stronger together.
♥️There were several twists and turns in the story, especially in the second half, but that only made for more entertainment. I also loved the cozy and lively Christmastide setting.
This was a truly wonderful book with an awesome plot and amazing characters! I loved it!! 🩷🩷
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 2 in The Wyntercrest Series and can be read as a standalone, though I think the reader experience will be better if readers also read Mischief For Christmas and A Flower For Mr. Wynters. An Heiress for Mr. Brabury is told though Harriet and Thane's pov and is a clean and sweet romance.
When we first met Harriet and Thane in Mischief for Christmas, I was hoping they'd get their own book and I'm so glad that they did. Harriet was spunky, feisty, and not scared to flaunt her American ways. With Thane being raised to follow proper customs of polite society and his dedication to his job, they were opposites yet were a good match. While Harriet certainly flustered Thane, it was fun whenever he got the upper hand. Their interactions were flirty and entertaining. Their romance was one of an insta attraction that grew stronger as they became better acquainted. The kisses were descriptive but didn't get too heated. As for conflict, there is enough drama to keep readers interested but it's not over the top. Overall, I think readers, especially those who love historical romance, will enjoy Harriet and Thane's story.
Harriet Crocker has been waiting for two years to go to London and experience the Season. But, being an American heiress has its trials as she navigates polite society. Whoodoggie! Don’t get Harriet upset unless you want a glove or a hand slap across your cheek! I most definitely want her as my friend so she can ward off bullies and rude people. I loved her sassiness and her fierce loyalty to family and friends.
I was intrigued that Thane Bradbury was a mechanical engineer and inventor. He and Harriet were a great match since both of them knew the railroad system. His dedication to his family and his work as well as his perseverance in building an engine were admirable. He never gave up and tackled things that were difficult. I was glad to see that he and Harriet were able to navigate the bumps that came along in their relationship. It only helped make their commitment to each other that much stronger.

This is the second book in the Wyntercrest series, but can be read as a standalone. This would be a great book for those who enjoy historical romances.
I was given a complimentary copy with no obligation to write a review. All opinions are my own.
I had the privilege of beta reading this, and it's also my first read for Michelle. I ADORED Thane. I'd like to just kidnap him and keep him all to myself, please. He was such a sweet and kind man. And intelligent! I enjoyed the elements revolving around the steam engine as well, which really added to both the historical aspects and tension in this story. I'm excited that we'll get more of Tav soon. He's sure to be super fun. His character (and love interest/story) were introduced well.
*Pacing is slower (the book is on the longer side), but my half star deduction comes down to one specific characteristic of Harriet's. She has a tendency to slap anyone she is peeved with. It became a bit too much for me personally, esp in regards to the MMC, but other than those moments where she is slap-happy, I did enjoy her character and her connection with Thane.
"An Heiress for Mr. Bradbury" is a beautifully-written and original story from author Michelle Angus! The historical setting is described with clarity and detail that helps the reader feel immersed in the story and in the lives of the characters. I always admire this author's amazing ability to create characters that feel three-dimensional and like real people along with an amiability and warmth to their personalities that really draws the reader in and makes them feel invested in the characters and their happiness. The speed of the plot is perfect, the writing style is smooth, the romance is sweet and swoony, and the story itself feels new and refreshing. This is a book that is as witty and charming as it's characters! I cannot recommend it highly enough. 5 stars!
Thank you very much to the author for the wonderful opportunity of being a part of her ARC Team again and for providing me with a digital copy to read and review honestly.
I loved this book, it was such a great story. Harriet and Thane had great chemistry and faced many challenges. They were determined to help each other and succeeded! Harriet was a spitfire, she had me laughing so hard and Thane was a perfect gentleman who complemented her perfectly. I enjoyed reading about Thane’s work on the steam engine, very fascinating. The story really pulled you in and kept you guessing. The ending was phenomenal!!
Another great love story. I loved the railroad connection across two continents. Harriet and Thane make a good match for each other. Glad to see the appearance of other characters we know from the other books, but from a different point of view.
I enjoyed seeing the first book’s characters again and following their lives. I'm fully invested in this family's life. I loved the author's notes. I'm excited to see book three is in the making. I had one dislike about this book. The main character slaps people she has issues with this shows weakness, not strength. I received an arc.
