“A brilliantly crafted series of stories that gave off serious Twilight Zone vibes.”—T.D. Fleming, author of Lightning Strikes

Stephen King has Castle Rock. H.P. Lovecraft has Arkham. Anthony D. Farr has Raven’s Bend.

The snow falls heavy and thick on one fateful winter night, trapping Raven’s Bend, Maine in a frozen embrace. As the blizzard rages on, strange and terrifying events unfold…

A widow desperately attempts to escape a supernatural time loop on a snow-covered highway. A family encounters a sinister man with the power to control minds. The night shift at a warehouse becomes a desperate battle for survival against a horde of zombies. A man grapples with the shocking revelation that his entire existence might be nothing more than a story struggling to become real.

Experience the horror, mystery, and suspense in these and other interconnected tales that unfold throughout One Snowy Night.

Brrrrr!

Anthony Farr's "One Snowy Night" is a thrilling anthology that perfectly captures the essence of winter with a chilling, horror-infused twist. Each story in this collection is meticulously crafted, enveloping the reader in atmospheres that are as frosty and foreboding as the season they depict. Farr's writing style is exceptional—elegant yet accessible, it weaves complex characters and eerie settings into narratives that are engaging and spine-tingling. The characters are the heart of this collection, fully realized and vividly drawn, making each encounter with the supernatural feel personal and terrifying. Farr's ability to conjure the eerie silence of a snowy night and the creeping dread of something unknown lurking just out of sight is commendable.

"One Snowy Night" is a must-read for horror enthusiasts looking to be captivated and frightened in equal measure. This book stands out not only for its thematic cohesion and striking imagery but also for its ability to leave a lasting impression long after the final page is turned. A true masterpiece of winter horror!

The Power of Stories

This is a brilliantly crafted series of stories that gave off serious Twilight Zone vibes. I loved the opening and closing that framed the stories…which created a powerful unifying concept for the book. It also gave some thought provoking discussion on the power of stories. There were some sad and touching moments intermixed with moments of horror and terror and some of those moments were my favorite parts. The paranormal elements were woven in quite well and did not overwhelm the stories. The writing itself was exceptional. It felt like there was some Stephen King influence…but it was quite original. Very well done. I enjoyed it and imagine most people will since it has something for everyone.

One Snowy Night by Anthony D. Farr
🌟🌟🌟
A fun collection of 11 short and spooky stories.
It wasn’t as scary as I thought it was going to be, but I enjoyed most of the stories. They were entertaining and the author has an interesting writing style!

A few standouts for me are:

Bread and Milk
Down From the Mountain
The Overpass
Loose Ends

Thank you to Anthony Farr and Velox Books for an audio of this exciting book. The Narration was great!!

This was a great collection of short stories, especially with them all connected! I'll admit that it took me a little bit to get into it, but when it did, I couldn't put it down. (I hope I won't spoil it some, but the chapter with the zombies in the warehouse--PERFECT! Suspense, horror, tension, action, the hopeless feeling of being trapped in a maze...)

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this “One Snowy Night” anthology. I usually find some stories in a collection that don’t hold my interest. These stories were an exception. They were unique, captivating page-turners with plot twists I didn’t see coming. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves reading good short stories tied together in one night in a blizzard.

Castle rock light creepy and vivid but not scary

A great set of "scary" tales from Ravens Bend a town that feels like Stephen Kings Castle Rock, except more creepy than scary. I could see teens and the horror adverse enjoying this. I liked this a lot and feel like I needed to read this with a cup of cocoa and a fire, or wine. A great escape for an evening.

Breathtaking

This reminded me a bit of the thousand and one nights. Obviously, it's not about someone telling stories to keep herself alive, but the feel of all the stories told by the same person gave me that feeling. The book truly drew you into the cold harsh winter night and permeated a haunting but beautiful atmosphere. A wonderful world to step into.
