Refreshing Storyline

I realize that Chris Salcedo's book is a ScFi fiction, but the frustrations of the past eight years rings very true to Chris's story - Liberty Rises... The quotes highlighted at the beginning of each chapter speak of the importance of self-government and our freedoms... These quotes were penned by early and late individuals relative to our freedoms. I have confidence powers taken away from our citizens can be returned to them. We need to go back to a smaller government with an elimination of waste and inefficiencies. The main character, Jack, saw that the fictional President was taking away the desire for companies and individuals to succeed by strangling regulations and taxations. The years from 2008 through 2016 pointed towards more government controls and less appreciation for the individuals innovative contributions. Chris's story also is so timely when we see a president's power used while ignoring the need for the balance of power split between legislative, judicial, and administrative. Great storyline, and therefore one that will hold your interest throughout. Read and enjoy...

I really liked this book. When I first started reading it I thought it was a non-fiction, but it's actually fiction. It was scary how accurate some of the points in the book are today regarding political and government control. I would recommend this to my friends.

Great book, highly recommend it.

I read this very quickly and was completely engaged. Though sometimes I found some of the minor points of the plot to be somewhat implausible or incomplete, the writing carried it through and made the story fun, thrilling and exciting. On a serious note, the content is very familiar as we watch contemporary domestic events and news in the United States unfold. This book was published in 2014. The clarity and foresight by the author is amazing and is perfectly aligned with many themes we’re seeing play out in real life. Namely, suppression of views and news that don’t align with liberal groupthink and a fast-moving push of socialist policies and censoring that, in the case of this story, brings America and freedom to its knees.

You can see this actually happening, faster and faster, in our everyday life. I would have thought the whole plot line unlikely in 2014. But, in 2020 I think it’s completely plausible.

Land of the Free

Cloaked in a great story, are the underpinnings of where America is headed if we do not listen closely to their words. History is a great teacher, and there is wisdom in history. May we wake up and question our govt leadership, their motives and goals. We are on the same road as these patriots, will we recognize this direction before it is too late? This book was a gripping page-turner!

Good storyline: Truth reveling

I chose this rating due to the fact that it was written 6 years ago and much of it, because of today's events in our country, is predictable. That does not in any way take away from the excellent(though fictional)futuristic storyline.
I did ,throughout the book ,substitute President Dunham's name as Obama.

🖋️ Here is a good science fiction-y novel with a political twist to it. It kept my attention from cover to cover. Also, even though this novel was written in 2014, it really screams of our current political atmosphere. The characters' dialogues are believable and memorable, as are the scenes. I greatly enjoyed reading this for the plot and the smooth writing style that Chris Salcedo has.
