Julian is an important high-ranking soldier of Il Destino, and Alessio is grooming him for bigger things ahead. When he’s captured by the Russian Bratva and is left to die, Miliana comes to the rescue. Julian convinces himself he is repaying a debt by making her his wife. Milana ran away to escape a treacherous marriage her father set up with the enemy. Being the daughter of a traitor means she’s spent most of her time on the run. She’s avoided being found for years and one act of kindness in saving Julian may mean the end for her. Julian and Milana are thrown together through a mass of commotion and must make their union work. Respect is a good start, but love would be even better
Apparently this is not the first in series but was easy to read and follow characters. Milan and Julian are the main characters who are thrown into a marriage of convenience. That rituals depicted were barbaric and I need not like that the women were subservient to the men. Besides that I loved this couple and the way they grew to love each other in a short space of time. *** I received a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own and freely given.

Reign Of Commotion is the eleventh book in Dark Reign series. This is a fast-paced and engaging story that balances romance, intrigue, mafia and danger. It is thrilling, gripping, dark and twisted, making for a wild ride that is enjoyable from start to finish. The writing and storytelling are effortless.
Julian, a high-ranking soldier of Il Destino, is destined for greater responsibilities according to Alessio. However, he's captured by the Russian Bratva and left to die. Fortunately, Milana rescues him. Milana has been on the run to escape a treacherous marriage her father set up with the enemy. If she is discovered saving Julian, she risks being caught. Julian believes he's repaying his debt to Milana by marrying her. When Julian and Milana are thrown together in chaos, they must navigate their unexpected union and partnership. With time running out and danger closing in, they must be careful not to make any mistakes. These two don't trust easily and their opinions often clash. The chemistry between them is palpable; the tension and intrigue are built up slowly; and their story engaging.
Fantastic addition to this series. If you love enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, found family, hero and heroine saving each other, and perfectly imperfect characters with a character driven storyline then this book / series is for you.
Eagerly anticipated the eleventh fabulous book of this incredible series and it didn't disappoint. What makes this book stand out is the author’s willingness to take on new plot lines for this book. It is easy for an author to stick with the tried and true that always works.
Here, for the first time, the Dark Reign series takes a long look at dementia. A timely and important storyline that fits so wonderfully into this incredible story. The other new nuance is the look at a mental health issue. This is ably provided through the character of Barry. It is done in a touching and emotive style that tugs at the heart.
A wonderful addition to a fantastic series. The story of Julian and Milana is another slightly different take on the mafia romance but very well done. The love scenes are still super-hot. The mafia violence is slightly reduced personally missed by this reader so no warnings about violence!
A great read that tackled new storylines with quality and talent. The 12th book will be highly anticipated by everyone. Again, one must ask, why isn't A.G. Kirkham up for a Booker prize? Canadian authors with this much talent must be recognized. I recommend getting book one of the Dark Reign series and just bingeing all the way through to eleven for a great read!
Tropes- Arranged Marriage, Sins of the Father, Rescue Angel, Dude in Distress, Found Family, Do-Si-Do with the Mafioso, Guest Starring the Bratva

What I liked- I found myself really rooting for the hero and heroine. I think they fell for each other even before the book started.
What I didn’t- I really didn’t like that the playlist was in the back, after the story. I’d prefer it to be in the front of the book so I can listen while I read. And the beginning was a bit much the way they had her prove her loyalty.
I liked Julian and was thrilled when his book came out. Disappointed in that the author changed things from the previous book: Previous book Miliana, this book Milana ( can’t spell her own character) Previous book Rafaele used his marker to rescue Nina on behalf of Aris, this book he used the same marker to release Milana to Julian
Why does every new wife make the same cinnamon pancakes?
Book was confusing, names are so close ( Angelo, Antonio, Anton etc) it’s often hard to keep who is who and who’s side is he on.. all in all not well written especially when you add in editing..many sentences missing words , poor quality book.
Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. As this is a mafia trope, you can expect violence, bloodshed on page and some mention of abuse, drug and gun trafficking so sensitive readers to read with caution. I love this author's work as the plot is always well thought out and characters well developed with a nice mix of action, suspense, intrigue, steam and love, to keep you glued to the story. This one focuses on Julian and Milana and their connection started with her saving his life which lands her in trouble she had been running from, but what started out as a 'marriage of necessity' to keep her alive leads to them falling in love and finding their HEA in each other.
Maliana pulls Julian away from the brink of death and in return Julian pulls Maliana away from an assured death. This unlikely pair learns to trust one another and learns that there is good in people when they do the right thing. This story is the next in the series of Mafia families where they hold on to traditions, but they admit that the world is advancing around them. New priorities take precedence over old traditions. This is another well written story with action, intrigue and romance. Highly recommended.

Reign Of Comotion is Julian and Milana's story. It's another intense addition to the Dark Reign series so make sure you check the trigger warnings before you start. These two are an intriguing, unlikely couple and it takes a good bit of work before trust comes about. They truly do save each other's lives in every sense of the word. This author continuously brings characters and stories that completely engulfs her readers. Hanging on to every word, turning every page all in anticipation of what's coming next.
When Miliana saved Julian from the Russians she never thought about her safety, she’d been hiding from Il Destino because of her father and has now been caught. To save her because she saved him Julian asks Alessio and Rafael for her hand in marriage, they agree, but Alessio insists on traditional conditions and she accepts, but she’s now in danger from the Russians. Can Julian protect his Honey?
Fantastic addition to the Dark Reign Series, I can’t wait for Ivo’s story.
This is my favourite author! I have read all her books , love how she introduces her characters and gives them their own stories in each book. I loved Reign of Commotion. The story was written with such compassion and forgiveness. The characters are able to have a new beginning and through love and acceptance new relationships are formed. Loved Julian and Milana’s story, this book will not disappoint!!!
Mafia. Insta-love. Milana saves Julian's life but then must prove her loyalty to the family because of her father's betrayal. Good story line as the Mafia families work together to find out who tried to off Julian. I also liked that the story included real life health issues and how to deal with them. Although this has a series story line, it can be read as a stand alone with no problem. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Kirkham is a favorite "go to" author when I'm in the mood for a good mafia romance. The books offer a fantastic romance between men, hardened by the life they are required to lead, and the woman, who tames them. In Reign of Commotion, Milana is tainted by the acts of her father and her one selfless act to save Julian puts her in the crosshairs. They unite to ultimately save each other. I love the family drama, old traditions, and character interactions in each of these books.
One thing bugged me right off - I didn't like the initial attitude of the male characters, and their suggestions on what to do with Milana when they found out she was the daughter of a traitor. She was not responsible for what her father did! Once I got past that, I enjoyed this story a lot, as I did all previous books of the series. I liked these characters. Milana and Julian have good chemistry and the story held my interest all the way through. It has surprisingly little violence for this genre, some steam, and some heartwarming moments. Looking forward to the next book of the series.

Julian was beaten badly and then put in a freezer to die but Milana was watching and helped get Julian out and away from the Russians. I love these books about a new type of mafia men who are moving away from the old ways of women being property. I highly recommend this book and the whole series, When you start reading one you want to get the other books. I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
I enjoyed reading this book. Once I started reading about Milana and Julian, I didn't want to put it down. The storyline grabbed me from the start. I enjoy mafia romance with arranged marriage so this is right up my alley. I don't want to give details as I don't want to spoil this book for anyone. I recommend reading this book! It is fantastic!
When Milana saved Jullian it put her life back in danger from who she had been running from before, but for Julian to save her they need to marry, can they make a go of a marriage for real? Can he keep her safe from the demons of her past? Well written engaging, drama, action and more! A great addition to the series
This is a new to me author, and I will definitely be getting the previous books in this series. The characters were believable and the storyline moved smoothly. I just loved how the characters interacted with each other. I was in the passenger seat watching the blossoming and growth of the characters.
I absolutely loved this book and this series!! Respect is a good start, but love would be even better I don’t usually read mafia books but this series it’s an exception because I can’t stop reading them. I’m obsessed with these ultra-hot men and these interesting and very different women. This one is a bit more slow-burn than others, but it worth it. There are great sexy times, but mostly sweet and respectful moments. There’s a bit of aghast, shooting and action. Totally addictive. Julian and Milania’s relationship started in an unorthodox way and certainly developed in the same way. A very enjoyable read as always from this author.

This is the eleventh book in the Dark Reign series. I loved Julian and Milania’s story. There’s action, drama, great chemistry between the characters and it’s so well written. A fantastic read.
