The eagerly anticipated sequel to Vulnerable is here! Fearless is a full-length novel (approximately 335 pages). No cliffhanger! A guaranteed HEA. This novel is a direction continuation of my first novel, Vulnerable. While Fearless can be read alone, it will be enjoyed more if you've already read Vulnerable.

Beth Jamison
Since childhood, I’ve lived under a shadow of fear and anxiety, afraid to trust anyone. All that changed when I met Shane. He taught me to cope with my fears. He gave me the courage to let someone in. But the threat’s still out there, and it’s coming back for me. I know Shane won’t let him get me this time, but at what cost? I can’t lose Shane. I just can’t.

Shane McIntyre
Before, I dated one woman after another, never getting attached, never getting too close. Then I met Beth and everything changed. She’s everything to me. She’s the reason I get up in the morning, she’s the very air I breathe. Someone’s out there – someone who wants to hurt her again, and I’ll be damned if I’ll let him. I’m her lover, her protector, and her best friend. I’m also her avenger. I’ll put an end to the threat once and for all, no matter the price I have to pay.

I enjoyed Vulnerable (book #1) so much that I jumped right into Fearless. Things I liked? I enjoyed the fact that Beth finally gets some backbone and that she stands up for herself more. I also liked seeing Shane become a bit unhinged at the beginning of this book. Him become so over protective because he felt responsible and guilty for not being there when Beth gets attacked at the end of book #1. And again, I enjoyed the secondary characters, such as Shane's sister who I now know for sure is getting her own book.

That all being said, what really annoyed and disappointed me with this book from the start is that the book was written in first person and ONLY in Beth's perspective. WTF? I could live with the shift from third person to first person (Vulnerable was written in third person, and alternated between Beth and Shane's POV), but why write the entire book in Beth's perspective??? I wanted to be able to get into Shane's mind, especially with how he started acting all aloof in the beginning and getting even more alpha on her throughout the book. I just don't get it.

While I am all for sex, lots of sex, I felt that in this book, the author almost used it as a crutch. Beth would get irritated or mad or finally stand up for herself, Shane would get mad back but instead of resolving anything, they would jump right into bed. It got a bit annoying. It made the book drag out. In fact, I seriously almost feel like this book didn't need to happen. I think things could have been resolved in Vulnerable.

So I give this one only 3 stars. However, I do like the author's writing style (well, I prefer her to go back to alternating POV between H / h) and I look forward to checking out Shane's sister's book.

This one was... less captivating than the first. I think it was mainly because it was so repetitive. Same arguments, same sex scenes, same wording, same situations all run throughout the novel. There were some things that repeated that seemed as though the author forgot she included either in the first novel or earlier in this one. Editors should have caught these mistakes.

Also, I'm not a fan of all the men in Beth's life not allowing her to learn how to protect herself. They seem to have some sick need her to keep her helpless when allowing her to defend herself would be therapeutically empowering to her. She, again, doesn't get the therapy she so desperately needs to heal, furthering my theory about everyone preferring her helpless. It makes for a twisted relationship between her and Shane and the one between her and her brother.

The unresolved issue in the first book becomes a background plot point in this one and ends rather anticlimacticly. The whole focus of the first book and her need to be protected is almost an afterthought here. Once that's over, the ending of the book happens too quickly.

That said, I do eagerly await Lia's book. Hopefully it will allow glimpses into the lives of characters in these novels, especially Cooper.

This starts where Vulnerable ends and even though Beth’s abductor is still at large, I feel this is more a story about Beths personal growth as an individual and as part of a couple. It is more about relationships than action. That’s not bad, it’s just different. My only problem with the book is there is too much explanation and re-hashing of past events. It detracts from the story a little . I think it should be assumed that we've all read book 1. Still great tho, and there are so many great possibilities of future books. 4 1/2 stars.

Just finished with this one, so I'll get my review out as long as it's still fresh on the mind...

I'm going to be completely honest here, I found this book rather boring compared to the first one. Many chapters were just dragging and the important (unanswered) parts from book 1 could've easily been put into that one book.

I really liked Shane as a hero in book one, even with his overly-protective ways towards Beth. He was protecting her, but it was still kinda sweet because I could relate to it. Now, in this book he was nothing but annoying and bossing her around, kept her prisoner in his home and didn't let her take one step unsupervised or without his knowledge.
He tracked not only her phone, but also her shoes and purses without even telling her.

He completely kept her in the dark about her kidnapper, even after everything that went down in book one.

He told his family members and co-workers to treat her with kid-gloves during the gym workouts.

The list goes on...

And then there's Beth herself. Why the heck doesn't she tell him where to stick his 'rules' and just leaves him, at least once? The one time she does anything similar to that () and sleeps away from him, he comes to her at night and sneaks into bed with her. He didn't even give her one single night to gather her thoughts and get away from him.
Shane practically dictated each and every single part of her life, going so far to even place an imposter into HER home without her knowledge. I would've been livid, but she's just mad at him for 2 solid minutes - until he takes off his shirt and all clear thought flies out the window.

Also, the whole buildup to the big finale with two books and then the final showdown is barely two pages long. Heck, the whole Andrew fiasco had more importance than taking down her kidnapper Kline.
I personally found the side characters in this book way more interesting than the main couple, which is the only reason I'm giving this book 3 stars. I definitely want to read more about Cooper, Jamie, and even Erin, Sam and Jake. Lia seems a little annoying, but if I'm in the mood, I might pick up book 3 in the series at some point and see if my mind changes about that.

All in all, I can't say I'm impressed with book two, even though I thoroughly enjoyed book one in this series.

There's a fine line between an alpha hero and a bossy asshole, and while I definitely enjoy reading about the former, it's off putting if said hero turns into the latter within the span of one book.

Did not finish and couldn't bring myself to do so. I put it off even before reaching the 50% mark and it's been weeks since then. I want to tell myself it was because I have a lot of things going on in my life and I would be lying if I said that. I mean, I could still read this before going to sleep you know. The truth is, this sequel does not interest me anymore and since I was a "cheater", I browsed through the pages 'til I reached the end, and nah, nothing is there to keep me reading. I hate to write bad reviews especially if I didn't read the book in its entirety. But...I really couldn't go on reading this. I'm on to my next read.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

After reading Vulnerable and experiencing the raw sensuality and suspense that April Wilson created with Beth and Shane, I couldn't wait to read the rest of their story in Fearless. This second helping of the McIntyre series that fans have been eagerly anticipating has given us more sexy intrigue and a powerful conclusion for Beth and Shane. In Fearless, tempers flare, passion reignites, and secrets are revealed.

Beth Jamison has been victimized more than once in her life, but the timid Beth from Vulnerable is slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with. She has recovered from her latest trauma and is ready to get on with her new life as the owner of a book store and being with the sexy, broody, Shane. If only she wouldn't have to fight Shane every step of the way. Even though danger still lurks around the corner with her childhood abductor being set free, Beth wants to assert her independence, stop living in fear, and stand up and fight. It was great to watch Beth become more assertive with the direction of her life as well as with her sexuality. She is no longer bashful in or out of the bedroom and knows how to go after what she wants.

When Fearless begins, we see a more subdued, guilt ridden, introspective Shane McIntyre, yet he still oozes sex appeal and alpha maleness. He vows to protect Beth from any future danger even if that means distancing himself and keeping secrets. His new fiery Beth is having none of it and is going to push all of his boundaries to the limits. I loved watching the sparks fly and ignite between these two. The passion has not waned between this bossy Hero and his ever evolving heroine. Which makes for some hot arguments and even hotter sex scenes.

While Fearless may be the end of our journey with Beth and Shane, there is no reason to mourn because there is still more of the McIntyre clan that we haven't seen the last of. I am already impatiently waiting for April's next read Broken which will feature Lia McIntyre along with the rest of these intense, extremely sexy body guards and security team. I highly recommend for a read that will provide nail biting suspense along with window fogging steam and sigh worthy romance.

Its 300+ pages of utter nonsense

Total crap.. Boring.. Beth is the worst lead i all the books i have read.. She inspires nothing.. She is treated like a baby in neonatal.. The whole book has nothing different from book one.. Shane n Beth argue on little things.. Then Beth is seduced.. Followed by 10-15pages of erotica.. Beth has no voice of her own.. She is just a stupid dumb lady.. 10 year old has more personality than here.. Shane is a control freak sugar daddy.. Plz dont waste time reading this book.. So wish there was an option to gice negative stars

Tyler is right, Beth is too young to be with Shane. She acts like a little baby the entire book. Lia even calls her princess. Shane is too controlling and interrupts her every time she tries to make a stand.

Okay.

This is the conclusion/continuation of Shane and Beth’s story from Book 1 in the series. I think I’ve gotten the sense that the suspense element l in these books is not very suspenseful and that these are more romantic dramas set around a Security/Bodyguard firm- which is fine. Did this have to be a whole full on second novel? In my opinion, no. I feel like this conclusion could very well have been part of Book 1 in the series. If anything, this book to me, weakened Beth as a heroine and made her seem childlike and not very respected by secondary characters or by Shane for that matter. I think that what worked as submissiveness in Book 1 came across a little as immaturity in Boom 2 and I think Shane and Beth’s story would ha e been much better ended with this ending in Book 1. However, this author is entertaining and this didnt drag too much. I think an editor is definitely needed to do a proofread and clean this up a bit. It’s quite a spicy book so much so that it felt a bit on the filler spectrum especially since the rest of the book didn’t add anything significant to the story that existed in Book 1. However, in all, this was fine and I still care about the McIntyre family and would read more of their series.

Yeah, No

I thought the first book, Vulnerable, was pretty good. This one, however, just was not up to par.

First, nothing truly happened in the first three-quarters of the book. Nothing major, anyway, that enhanced the storyline. Since this was the case, I feel like this book wasn't even needed and everything could have been said in the first book. There was an overabundance of redundant and unimportant details, that I got pretty bored.

Second, I HATE how every problem was just fixed with sex. Almost every time Beth had a conflicting opinion to Shane, they just used sex to fix it.

Third, I'm sorry but you can't portray Tyler as the overprotective big brother, yet he's never around, neither in person nor by phone. Same goes with Beth's best friend Gabrielle. Your best friend is attacked yet you now barely see her??? Not buying into Tyler and Gabrielle's disappearance. Not to mention her own mom is MIA, as well???

Fourth, after all that, the "climax" scene at the end was completely lackluster and ridiculous. After all that writing, everything was over in a snap.

Sorry, not worth it in my opinion.

Wow.

I mean honestly there is only so many times I can roll my eyes in one book. The first book I really enjoyed. It gave good perspective with it being in Shane and Beth’s POV. But this one with it only being in Beth’s POV it made her sound like a whiny brat. Things just kept getting repeated. Like YES! We KNOW you and Shane met a Clancy’s YES we KNOW what Howard did to you. Honestly this could’ve been read as a stand-alone because you basically know exactly what happened in the first book from Beth retelling things over and over again. Also so far most complaints are about Shane and how overprotective he was but Beth acted like a spoiled brat 90% of the time I don’t blame him. Just small stuff she did annoyed me especially when she insisted on being right in the middle of the action when she knew all it was doing was putting people in more danger. I won’t get too into it but I’ll definitely read the next books it’s just that this one just annoyed me and I’m surprised my eyes didn’t roll out of my head.

Wilson keeps you begging for more...
….and with all the teasers and tidbits we learn from the McIntyre brothers and sisters, it will be well worth the wait!
Fearless completed the story of Shane and Beth, but I have a feeling they will be making more than a few appearances in the next several books. I personally fell in love with Jamie and can’t wait to read his story. Lia is totally badass and I’ve been intrigued with her since Vulnerable.
The cover of Fearless draws you in, the editing is flawless and the story captivating.
I read Vulnerable first, but if I hadn't, I don't feel I'd be lost in this story. It could be read as a standalone. The author does a great job of giving just enough information from book one without being overbearing with it.

"I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review."

This book is a wonderful conclusion to Beth and Shane's hot story that began in Vulnerable. As the author states, Fearless can be read as a standalone and has no cliffhanger but is best read after Vulnerable, also awesome! I like that Beth isn't a kick-ass heroine, she has had difficulties and Shane McIntyre is just the man to protect her. I did feel that there were times Shane overstepped his protection of Beth but he loves her fiercely and would do anything for her. He is a handsome, sexy and powerful alpha male and the sex scenes are hot hot hot! This is a great book I enjoyed very much, would highly recommend!

Did this book get me all tingly inside? No
Did I finish it and have a book hangover? No
Did the hero (Shane) make me swoon? Sometimes

I didn’t hate this book, but it also won’t be going on my favorites shelf either. I said it in my review of the first book, it was way too long. Honestly, the author could have skipped the whole Andrew Norton drama in the first book and combined the first two books together. Once again there was way to formal of language used that it was irritating.

Too many sex scenes. I love a good steamy sex scene but this book was constantly having them. It was if they were a placeholder and the author was just trying to fill up space in the book because hello it was way too long! Plus, they got to be repetitive in how it was described. I found myself skipping those scenes towards the end because I couldn’t take hearing Shane or Beth say “I should shower” when the other was going down on them. Ugh 🤦🏼‍♀️ like live in the moment people

There was a lot of repetitiveness in this book in the sense of how the characters handled things. Shane would be overprotective, Beth would get mad and confront him and then Shane would distract her with sex. They never talked anything out.

I knew I was ready for this story to be done when I found Beth’s storyline with Clancy’s more interesting than anything else.

The best part of this book was the last scene because it was the only part that I actually had that swoon worthy moment.

I was disappointed with how the characters were developed over the course of two books. It seemed like the author was trying to make Beth grow stronger and be more independent, but in the end she still just depended on Shane too much. It would have been nice if the author showed her getting emotionally stronger. Shane did a complete 180 in this book. He went from a sweet, loving boyfriend who wanted to keep Beth safe to a controlling a****** at times. He use to be the one person who was always telling people Beth was stronger than they gave her credit for, but he started treating her like some fragile glass figurine that would break.

Cooper, Lia & Sam made this book for me. They were hands down the best characters. Funny. Caring. Kick butt and take names. I love how Lia & Sam would describe or interact with The Dragon Lady. Hilarious by far the best part of the book. These characters are the reason I gave this book 4 out 5 stars.

This is the sequel to book 1 and continues Shane and Beth's romance.
Where book 1 ends Fearless begins, Beth is still in danger from her past and the man who put her through an ordeal that has haunted her through-out her life.
She is also still in recovery after the event that left her injured and hurt, she is now living with Shane.
Shane is 10 years older than Beth with a reputation of being a playboy,he is very wealthy and Beth is still coming to terms with her man's past with other woman, and his money.
Shane is besotted with Beth though but she still has her doubts why he is with her....Now if you think Shane was possessive in book 1 he is EXTRA possessive in this book...To the point he is a bit overbearing and demanding,he talks down to Beth someimes like she is a child...I didn't like that side to Shane..
But he does redeem himself.
Beth actually starts to stand up for herself and looks up to Shane's sister Lia who is like a spitfire she is strong and a fighter Lia takes no nonesense from anyone, and Beth wants to be like that...she wants to be less reliant on Shane and to be able to defend herself.
So she goes back to work and starts self defence classes, even though Shane disapproves.
Fearless sees Shane and Beth go through some rocky times in their relationship, they are still as steamy as ever.
But the threat still lingers over their heads and Beth feels like the nightmare will never end.
I enjoyed this story which is narrated wonderfully by Grace Noble who portrays both Female and Male characters..I loved the emotion she brought to the roles she was playing and I really liked listening to her narration.
April Wilson does a great job at continuing Beth and Shane's story and it kept me entertained and riveted by what would happen.
A fantastic audiobook.

Over Protective Alpha Boyfriend & His Wonderful Friends & Family!😳💘🔥🙏😍
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
Fearless (McIntyre Security Bodyguard #2)

This is part 2 of Shane & Beth's origin story, how they met & fell in love and all of the bumps and dangers along the way!💘🔥💥 It picks up towards the end of her recuperation from the severe attack on her. She's feeling disconnected from Shane because he's pulled away, she doesn't know where they stand anymore, it's gutting her!💔 Her new friend, bodyguard Shane's sister, Lia, sneaks her out for some much needed space. She makes some big decisions during her time away.👍

Kline is more of a threat than ever so her safety is a priority.😳 Now they've worked their issues out, mostly, they move back to the penthouse & she starts work at her new business, learning from the bottom up and she absolutely loves it.😍 She's become very close with most of Shane's siblings as well as Cooper, his old C.O & his right hand man, who she sees as a father figure.💞 She'll need everyone's support as things come to a head!!😱😭

I really found all of the sex scenes tedious, there are SO many of them. We get it, they're hot for each other but we don't need every single time described in full, Gesh!🙈😷 I also hated how dictatorial Shane was with Beth, it was demeaning!😡 I did like that she started to argue back & stick up for herself, especially when she won, even if it wasn't often enough for me! I'm not sure I'll carry on with this series, I'm really not in to this kind alpha, there's protective & possessive & then there's a dictatorship!!😡👎

I am amazed that, Shane didn't do anything about the weasel that wrote and ran, the article in the newspaper. Hope he sued the paper or something. I am so happy that Beth finally stood up to Vanessa. Dragon Lady seemed to be disliked by all.

Now, I’m sorry, the whole situation with, Shane and the lady, DA, doesn't sit well with me either. Because he could have removed her hands, from him but he didn't. When he saw, Beth he look worried and caught and started for her. Which was better until he let the B-itch pull him back to her as well as his attention. Shane’s just lucky when she turned to leave, Cooper was there or she would have. Because he let her know his old F-buddy was more important than his “dumb girlfriend” who took the time to through the party. Right?

Being a logical person, I can understand that, Beth needs to see the proof that, Kline is dead. But, for, Beth to put, Shane and his team in harm's way seems, selfish and irresponsible. I thought all the people on the detail for that operation are her friends or future family member. So, why split all their thoughts and focus, when it should be on the threat? Yet, to now put part of it on her? Thinking will she make a sound, have a panic attack, have an asthma attack, or scream out when Kline speaks?

But, then her brother, Tyler gets involved. Causing an even bigger divide between Shane and Tyler. He keeps pushing he will push his sister out of his life for not respecting her wishes. Tyler is getting on my nerves. His big brother's routine is getting old. Then, again the way Shane acts so OTT is so wrong, too.

This book ends much better than the first one.

Erotic Romance 5 Stars: Plot 2.5 Stars

In pure erotica it’s a FIVE star book. If you are looking for a lot of hot sex and don’t care about plot issues and repetitive dialogue and scenes then jump on. The plot line which is kidnappers revenge, it’s about two stars. As there were no chills or thrills, book one did a better job in providing those. The author using repetitive dialogue in the book again, knocks the star rating down. Character’s constantly repeating themselves is irritating. Beth’s nightmares are repetitive and boring, we get it she was kidnapped. If you need to see how child trauma nightmares are brilliantly handled in a story read JD Robb.
The characters not remembering previous sexual anal play made the book drop in stars. If the character’s can’t remember it, and the reader does, just demonstrates sloppy editing. There is a lot of character’s not remembering prior views in situations.

After two books by this author I don’t think I will be continuing the series. Honestly all that happened in this book could have been wrapped up in book one. There was really no point to this book beyond the sex.

One more thing that truly flummoxed me was that the series starts out in book one written in third person, but this book is totally in first person with Beth as the narrator. Beth as the narrator makes Shane look like a complete and utter douchbag control freak. He went from a delicious character to someone who had major issues. Wow, I won’t be continuing the series via kindle unlimited.

Very Repetitive

The character Beth was kidnapped when she was 6 years old and kept tied up naked in a dark space for 24 hours. She was not beating or attacked, but within the current timeframe of 24 years old Beth she is terrified of every little thing. She needs to be continually reassured and coddled. Shane even calls her "young lady" a few times in this book, whereas in the 1st book he stresses that even though there is a 10 year age gap she is a women. Beth doesn't evolve from the 1st book. To me it seems like she back peddles a bit. Her fear goes overboard. She nearly has a panic attack when she runs into her ex boyfriend that only embarrassed her in a past event when she had a panic attack to almost having consensual sex with him. She also starts to panic when she has flashbacks of the breakup she had with Shane in his office (in re previous book) that pauses her office seduction attempt. The author is very repetitive in the story of Shane and Beth both in the series (at least the 1st and 2nd books) and this book alone. She wrote a scene where Shane introduced Beth to anal sex by slowly inserting his finger in the 1st book. She writes the exact same scene in this book. The only difference is the setting is his penthouse instead of her townhouse. The explanation of why the service dog is explained in detailed word for word more than once. The story of what caused Jamie's blindness and why he writes is also retold. All is told through only Beth's POV.

Romantic thriller (sort of)

No plot spoilers
There are some potential triggers relating to violence and kidnap.
There are quite a few grammatical errors that really irritated the life out of me, no idea why the editor/proof reader didn't pick them up.
I have to be honest and state the FL Beth is so annoyingly sweet I almost broke a tooth, she is also clueless and naive to the point of pain. I kept hoping she was going to get killed off by the baddie (who is so textbook bad guy it's laughable)
The ML Shane is the atypical alpha male who never tells Beth anything and is so over protective I was surprised he let her pee by herself.
Surprisingly, the supporting characters are well written, I want to know more about Cooper and Jamie.
However, being totally honest I have to warn that every other page is sex. They have a conversation followed by sex, they go for dinner/lunch/breakfast/coffee followed by sex. They use the office, the elevator, the sitting room, three different bedrooms and the hall wall. Frequently.
Inbetween and during all the sex they drop short conversations which moves the storyline forward. Slowly.
I tried skipping the sex scenes only to realise there was some storyline hints being revealed so that didn't work out so great for me.
There is also some swearing, just in case you are a prude.

This continues Beth and Shane’s story from Vulnerable, and it just keeps getting better.
Shane is still just as bossy and over protective and Beth still manages to get her own way by being strong, loving and making Shane compromise without him even realizing it. It works well for both of them.
In this book, Beth’s past comes back to haunt her and it terrifies her. Shane isn’t about to let anything happen to her, though, and if he could lock her away at his country estate until the threat was dealt with, he would. But, of course, things are not going to be that easy as Beth won’t be controlled and manipulated.
The author has an incredible knack for writing characters that are perfect and flawed in a stellar combination. They feel real and true and you can’t help but want to live in their world, be their best friend, if only for a day. From the first page you are drawn in deep and can get lost in a world of fierce, burning love, family and close friends, drama and laughter, and you really don’t want to even come up for air. The sexiness and drama is overflowing and reading the last sentence on the last page leaves me wanting more. Good thing I can jump straight into the next book in the McIntyre Security Series.

Guys, I tried. Lord, did I try!

I literally just finished my review of the first book not even an hour ago. Made a claim that I would read this book just because I was interested in the side characters and was afraid I was going to miss something, but...

description

I made it 15 minutes... which is 7%... CHAPTER 3!!

Beth was trying to learn some self-defense moves from Liam with her ever dutiful bodyguard Lia present and observing, when Shane rolls in. Yelling at her and declaring what she can and can't do. With her own body. At this point, it's been about two months of healing. She starts standing up for herself and he kisses her. And that is how this argument ended.

From the other reviews I have read it seems like that is all this book is and, if that is the case, I would be better spending my time picking fights with my husband. At least then I'd be the one doing the deed!

I'm losing what little faith I have in this series but I really want to read Lia's story. So, let's see how this goes.

I’m sorry to say that I was disappointed in book 2 of this series because I had enjoyed book 1 so much. This book was very very repetitive. There were far too many sex scenes that were almost exactly like previous sex scenes. At the end of book 1, which did not end in a cliffhanger, we were expecting to come into book 2 and see the bad guy who wasn’t dealt with in book 1 get what he has coming.

This book 2 is more than 300 pages and I don’t think the author spent more than the final 30 pages on the bad guy. Most of this book was just general filler about the characters that work for or are somehow related to McIntyre security. There was a story arc about the mean manager at Clancy’s bookstore that ate up a huge chunk of the book but did nothing to advance the core story. I like the characters and I like the core story about these protectors so I will read book 3 and see if the author returns to the good job of storytelling that she did in book 1.

Book 2.5 is about a day Shane spends in jail. It looks like this novella will take at least two hours to read and it’s only about one day so I don’t trust that the story will be advanced in any way.
