Grace Porter has the perfect job, great pay, a beautiful office, everything she ever dreamed of, if not for one small detail.
She's utterly and hopelessly in love with her boss.

Gabriel Ferrara is tall and handsome, and most days she wants to stab her eyes out with a pencil, anything to stop her seeing his perfection.

Then he opens his mouth and she remembers why.
He's bossy and sarcastic, with a wit so sharp it could cut glass.

Every weekend is the same . . . while he's off living his dream life, she's counting down the days until Monday when she sees him again.

Well there goes one of my most anticipated reads this summer🙄

“I’m the worst person on earth. I’m deserting my own children because I know I can’t not want their mother.”

spoilers incoming.

I was excited for Gabriel and Grace since i've read so many reviews praising his groveling and comparing this book to The Takeover and i freaking love that book. but comparing Gabriel to Tristan??...oh nonono, the audacity to put Tristan in the same sentence as this waste of space idiot manwhore.

Both main characters Gabriel and Grace were so unlikeable. Gabriel is the biggest manwhore who fucks everything with a pulse but is secretly obsessed and in love with his assistant Grace.
Grace is a spineless idiot who worked and pined after him for seven years hoping he'll finally notice her. Seeing how he'll never change she FINALLY decides to quit her job and move to a different city but not before they have sex in his office after what he humiliates her. she then forgives him, again they have sex all night at his place after she literally tells him she'll not move, she'll find another job and they should date. So what does Gabriel do?

“My heritage is very important to me. It is expected that I deliver a strong bloodline; my children’s first language to be Italian.” He thinks for a moment before adding, “I need an Italian wife.”

"It’s the twenty-first century, Gabriel. Why would you think that you need to marry an Italian?” I snap as my anger rears her ugly head.
“Because I want to, Grace,” he snaps. “Because I want to.”

What a great man, truly🥰🥰🥰

Oh well, then the endless drama stared when Grace finds out she is pregnant with twins, tries(and tries is a loose term) to tell Gabriel about her pregnancy, some misunderstandings happen and seven years later Grace is raising the twins, Gabriel doesn't have a clue and he's engaged to be married to a nice Italian girl who can cook pasta as same as his Italian mama like he always wanted🥰

He finds out completely random that Grace was pregnant at that time and tracks her down when oh surprise he sees his two kids who btw are replica of him.
LIKE SERIOUSLY T.L SWAN WHY ARE YOU SO CRUEL?

after the initial shock, he acted like the asshole he was , yelling at Grace (yes Grace you should've tried harder to tell him) yelling at his children!!( dude they literally saw you screaming at their mom), not telling his fiance or his family about his kids bc they are not Italian, his family would never accept them. THE BLASPHEMY.

Grace gives him an ultimatum, he can tell the kids that he is their father if he can be in their life forever and act like a real father or get out. So what does Gabriel do?
He spends one day with his kids as mommy's friend, fantasize about grace every damn second even with his fiance at home and then leaves them again!!!

"You still have feelings for her?” she whispers.
“It’s like she never left. She’s all I think about, I’m dreaming of her. I nearly called Ariana by the wrong name while having sex the other day because in my head I was with Grace."

The way this man justified leaving his own children after meeting and spending time with them forever blows my mind.
I hated how Claire was the one who tried to knock some sense into him about regretting leaving these two poor innocent children.

And if you're wondering about the groveling, there isn't any.
Grace was so infuriating and while the kids were innocent and didn't deserve to be treated like trash she was not. She needed to take responsibility for keeping the kids a secret for years.
Then she transformed into a blubbering idiot who forgave him about every offensive word way too fast and went and had sex with him again!

"Never has there been a more addictive lover, Gabriel Ferrara is the ultimate.
Hung, experienced and intense.
The power oozing from his body is all-consuming.
Every woman’s fantasy."

There wasn't much of a storyline and how the same author who wrote Tristan and Harry and Fletch ended up butchering every damn character here. 🤯
Even the family moments with the kids were boring, the dialog felt incohesive and very fake and robotic.
What was with the constant giggling and snapping?
Every conversation between Gabe and Grace was how horny they were. No meaningful connection or conversations.
The book already starts with instalove/lust but fails to deliver later. you just can't convince me they were so in love and that Gabe just happened to change his mind out of nowhere and immediately started love bombing Grace.
You can't treat her like shit, threating her but then forgive her for keeping your kids from you for seven years, breaking your engagement to another woman and then proclaiming your undying love to the same woman you haven't seen for seven years i repeat. how can you be so sure that's the same person, people change every day but seven freaking years??
the endless stupid drama went on and on and why this book had 400+ pages when nothing in reality happened. 🤯🤯

seriously i want the hours i spend reading this shit back. I'm never trusting reviews again.😭😭

Listen, I went into this book thinking I was going to read a silly little romance. WELL, COLOR ME FUCKING CONFUSED BC THAT IS NOT WHAT I READ AT ALL, and let me tell you I loved every single second of it. Idk if it’s because I did not expect the plot to be THAT at all, or what, but this book… WOW, I read it in literally under 24hrs

Self note:

- Second chance
- Secret babies (twins)
- Manwh*re H

I can't remember much, but, Gabriel and Grace's story was part of "His Christmas List". It has a workplace romance (boss and assistant) trope, and this is their full-length standalone book. All the things I'm going to put here were based on what I remembered from their novella.

She used to see him sleep with so many women, as she's been working for him for years (can't remember how long). I think she also sends them flowers once Gabriel is done with them. What a gem, right? 🥴

He couldn't or wouldn't cross the line with her because she's his assistant. Yet despite him sleeping around, apparently he has feelings for Grace, and she's the only woman he's ever loved. Sure, buddy, whatever you say. It was a mutual attraction, btw.

Then she filed for resignation because she had enough and couldn't handle seeing him with many OW. She wanted to have a life outside of work, and working for him won't give her that chance.

So on her last day, he gave her a bracelet (he never gifts any woman and I can't remember if this has a sentimental value), and they had sex that led to her pregnancy. 🤦‍♀️

He didn't pursue her after that because, by then, he had decided to find a suitable Italian woman to marry and she's not it. But of course, he still loves her, but he cannot marry her. 🫠

This is probably where the second chance trope will kick in; based on one review, she had twins, and they're now 6 years old. So almost 7 years of separation is quite a long time.

And knowing this author, I bet that Gabriel either married that hypothetical OW or he wh*red around. And I'm assuming Grace, on the other hand, might probably barely surviving with her babies. I won't be surprised if this has some OWD too.

Idk, I could be wrong. Anyway, not for me.

T.L. Swan used to be one of my favorite authors. I have waited two years for this book. I have never been more disappointed and I have never hated a hero more. I was absolutely disgusted by him.

I'm of two minds about this book.

I really loved a lot of elements...and yet found some others very off-putting. This left me not wholly satisfied with the book as a whole, sadly. I still liked it; however, if I could remove those aforementioned off-putting portions (all of which I felt were unnecessary and did nothing to drive the story forward), this would have been a solid 4-5 star read for me.

Unbelievable and disappointing.

With disappointment, I write this review.
****Spoilers ahead****
I can’t understand how the main male character was written. He was a nasty, egotistical human being that treated his staff and peers like dirt with vapid words and bullying actions. He was described as ‘the world’s most eligible billionaire’….really!!!! How could such a man love anyone but himself and the main female character clearly had such low, self esteem and value to believe that his actions were worthy of love. Her thought processes were ridiculous and unbelievable. What a pitiful state he made her feel. She should have told him of the pregnancy and allowed him to be the deadbeat father that his personality was depicted in the story and be allowed to love a better, more superior human being. It wouldn’t have been difficult! The amount of years this debacle continued for was too far fetched and to top it all I have to believe he loves her and she was never far from his thoughts when having sexy times with other women and his finance……what hardships he had faced, but, do not fear, he treated her like dirt because he has Mummy and Daddy issues, past and present.
The writing was clunky and the conversations between all the characters lacked substance and soul. I have felt more chemistry operating my microwave than what the main two characters had.
The last couple of books by this author depict the same red flag males being portrayed as rich, self-serving, redeemable characters that treat women as sex objects. The two main characters had internal, childish thoughts that made me cringe. The last 20% of book focused on showing that he was a misunderstood, better man, however, it falls totally flat.
There will be no future reads of this author, thereby, saving everyone my negative opinion but honestly, I can read far better books, with strong characters that have all the feels, including strong, successful women knowing their true worth and successful, strong men whom know their way around the bedroom without having to be a total douchebag.
Really sad!

I'm going to start by saying that I used to be a huge fan of TL Swan... unfortunately, that's changed. The last two books I've read of hers were honestly just a mess.

1. These two characters were horrible. The FMC was annoying, whiney, and lacked any real depth. The MMC was an ASSHOLE. Don't get me wrong I love a good asshole. But this guy never grew on me. He was just overall a dick.

2. This reads like a Spanish telenovela. I kept being like... surely no more drama could happen. And then BAM! More chaos.

3. Her best friend needed to be kicked to the curb! I love an honest best friend. But this one just didn't seem to have her back! She kept routing for the MMCs. And the whole time I was like WHERES THE LOYALTY!

4. The beginning 40% of this book was cringy. I kept getting secondhand embarrassment for the FMC.

5. There are so many parts that stuck with me and I wanted to list them... but spoilers. So I'll just use one example.
She was asked on a date (not by the MMC) and seconds after he asked her on a date they were making out in the parking lot of his work.... he dropped some super cringy pickup line and she just melted... 🤢 I physically cringed! This is just one example above many.

I will end my review by saying... the last 20% of the book was bearable. The characters never grew on me. But the kids were adorable. Mark was hilarious. And the overall plot, which didn't seem like it was written for a Spanish telenovela, wasn't that bad. I wish I had something better to say because I used to love her work. Our Way has been one of my favorite books for a while... but this one was just a miss.

this book was literal trash. i don’t know that i’ve ever read a more unlikeable MMC. he had a miserable meeting with his twins (at one point, he called his six year old a prick) knowing that he had no plans to stay in their lives and then returned home to his fiancee, and we had to read about how she was one of the most beautiful women on the planet. this was on top of descriptions of him fucking other women before falling in love with his fiancee and deciding that he would rather marry and have children with her than be a father to the twins he had with the FMC.

this book is for masochists only 🙂‍↔️

Well, here we are again. I tried *one more* new TL Swan book. I said I wasn't going to, but this pretty pink and shiny book drew me in. Plus, I was very curious about Gabe & Grace. I've been thinking about them in the background for years. So, in I went. I had low expectations but I hoped that would be a good thing.

First off, there were some hidden tropes/plot points to this book that I didn't discover until the day before I started this book. But I already had a physical copy gifted to me and I didn't want to back out on reading it. This trope is almost ALWAYS a hard no for me. Very few authors pull it off in contemporary romance for my satisfaction.

This is a Secret Baby book.

KILL ME NOW.

I really wish this wasn't hidden, or maybe I just didn't read between the lines, since I didn't want to know *too* much... but, for goodness sake. Aren't we past hiding these type of things?

I legitimately would have side-stepped this, no matter how pretty it was, if I knew.

But even WORSE than that, it's the WORST kind of secret baby. The kind where the heroine makes the absolute minimal effort, one time, to tell the hero about his child. When she can't contact him, she takes it as a brush off and NEVER TRIES AGAIN?! Are you actually kidding me?

Okay, I'm gonna calm down. I actually have a full 15 minute rant on my youtube channel: https://youtu.be/b4NO57VKgwk

So please feel free to watch that for more coherent and detailed issues I have.

If you can't tell, Secret Babies are a trigger for me. I don't have to apologize for that. I think it's wrong. I think Grace betrayed Gabriel. I don't care if he's a playboy. He's a freaking billionaire and he would have been a supportive and loving father right from the beginning.

Grace just didn't try hard enough because SHE felt rejected. And as Gabriel put it, that wasn't her choice to make. He can reject her as a partner and still want his KIDS! Seriously, the stuff she does is what a lot of Other Women do in books. The kind of stuff that makes us hate the OW and wish for better things for the hero.

Okay, got that off my chest. Moving on.

As for the rest of it. Once we get to the present situation I was at least able to enjoy myself a smidge. Which is why I didn't rate this lower.

I liked seeing Gabriel try to get to know his kids. I liked that his son gave him a hard time and was protective of his mother. I liked Gabriel moving to the town and deciding to give them a real chance. I of course, loved seeing his mother taken down a peg. (She has always annoyed me.)

I wish Grace had done a bit of grovelling. I feel like Gabriel made 90% of the changes. Though I didn't like him coming in threatening (even though I obviously understood his anger), he doesn't know his kids at all, so demanding to have them equal time... well, that ship has sailed. We have to ease in.

I loved the peek of Claire, and her pep-talk. Loved the mention of my man, Tris. I do like how connected her whole universe is. So those were some bright spots. I would have loved if this ended at a Christmas party and all of our favorites were there, though I get the logistics could have been a lot. Haha!

But yeah, didn't mean to write so much. I obviously had some FEELS. I've been reading TL Swan for 7+ years, so I shouldn't be surprised, I guess I just need to move on.

3.5 stars (rounded down)
3 on the spice scale

This book was not it for me… I used to love this author’s writing and would binge her books. So I was really excited to jump into this one! However I found the writing really cringy and found myself wanting to DNF within the first couple of chapters.

I saw a lot of potential for the story line, it’s everything we’re used to with TL Swan’s books… however, this one just really did not live up to the hype.

I am officially done with Swan's books. It's always the same shit.. The hero treats the heroine like shit, fucks everything that moves, hurts the heroine soooo badly... and he doesn't grovel. I just never want a happy ending in her books. I want the hero to suffer and watch the heroine have her hea with anyone but him.

Grace deserved so much better than him. I'm done this time.

I was so thrilled to finally read The Bonus! From the snippets we’ve gotten I already knew I adored Grace. I felt for her and I connected with her. Grace was intelligent, had grit and sass. She was no doormat for Gabriel which I really liked about her. I thought I knew what I was in for with Gabriel. He was a grumpy head strong boss man in all aspects of his life. Truthfully, I didn’t think I was going to like him. I was so wrong. He swept me off my feet and I still haven’t touched the ground. The chapters from his perspective were some of my favorites. Their love story charmed my heart while feeding my soul. It’s irresistibly spicy and undeniably witty. Grace and Gabriel are endearing characters with an emotionally driven and relatable love story that TL Swan excels in writing. She weaves her magical, sexy and evocative words into our hearts and makes us fall in love over and over again. The Bonus was definitely worth waiting for and then some.

3 Soapy but also really fun ⭐️

This is simultaneously one of the worst books I have ever read and one of the most entertaining.

Not once did I want to dnf it😂 and there is a lot wrong with this, and yet I was unable to put it down. It’s a conundrum! You could not have pried this out of my hands. The first 6 chapters are complete garbage but after that it’s like you are completely hooked!

I still can’t figure out what to make of it. 🤔 Think Dynasty on steroids with sex. It is so utterly soapy and delightful.

It’s an office romance that goes into secret baby, with a lot of anger issues.

Gracie is Gabriel’s PA. She is so in love with him, and has been for years, she has to give up and decides to cut ties with him to move on.
But on her last day at work, they have a ons, she thinks there will be more after that, but he cruelly rejects her because she is not Italien.

Heartbroken and rejected she moves to Maine and finds out she is pregnant. She tries to tell him, but he doesn’t pick up her calls and she is rejected from the office building when she goes to tell him in person.

So she gives up and goes back to Maine to do it on her own.
She has twins, a boy and a girl and creates a life for herself and her children, a life that is quiet and sweet. However 6 years later that all changes when Gabriel suddenly reappears in her life.

Listen this was so cringy and there was way too much smut vs. plot but I WAS NEVER BORED. 😂

I wish the author had toned down the constant yelling and anger, it was a little OTT.

Should you read it? If you can handle a soapy, steamy read that is a little too long, but will keep you entertained. Think US weekly or People magazine.
It’s empty calories but sometimes that hits the spot.

I will preface this by saying that reading is subjective. What’s a miss for some may be a hit for others.

These two characters are insufferable. I love an alphahole who redeems himself in the end. Gabriel is not that. He’s been a jerk since we first met him back in the Miles High series, and he only gets marginally better in this book.

And Grace. I get that she was upset with Gabriel. She had a valid reason, but there was very little growth of her character. I can’t get into her character too much without giving away spoilers. Suffice it to say that she is whiny and could do with a healthy dose of self-reflection.

The timing and pace of this was off putting as well. There are time jumps with no notice. One paragraph is now and the very next paragraph is sometime in the future. How far in the future? Who knows? We are rarely told how much time has passed.

Look, I loved the Miles High series and the Mister series. I had high hopes for this book, but was a miss for me.

"My name is Gabriel Ferrara and I am utterly and hopelessly in love with Gracie Porter."

"I loved him, but more than that, I love to hate him."

Wow, this took me by surprise. I picked it up by chance, not thinking much would come of it. I've been either DNFing or skim-reading a lot lately, just giving books a try, hoping something will stick. Well this one definitely did. I was instantly hooked by the main characters and the story. I loved their funny banter. Highly entertaining (maybe a bit childish and OTT, but I don't care because it worked for me in my current mood) and addictive. The angst was just right and the hero was deliciously alpha. Of course, I'm a sucker for the secret baby trope, and Ms. Swan pulled it off here. I connected with Gabriel and Gracie. Normally, I pass on stories where there's a long separation between the main characters, but the 7 year separation wasn't a deal breaker. I must say, however, when there are secret kids involved, it's a bummer to see so much time wasted. Gabriel and Gracie wasted so many years they could have spent blissfully together. If I recall correctly, it was 14 years in total. The 7 years she worked for him where they both hid their feelings for one another. Then, the 7 years where they were separated with no contact.

"From the moment I met her, I knew she was the one. My heart ached for what I couldn’t have. So I loved her from afar."

It was clear they both loved each other very much and belonged together. I felt their connection, and their chemistry was sizzling. I was exceedingly happy to see them reunited (he goes to find her in Chapter 10; @ 24%). His groveling was absolutely delightful. How the tables turned. She did not make it easy for the fool. He went all out to win her over. Their twins were cute and endearing. The secondary characters weren't dull or annoying or got in the way of the story (which often happens!). Was this perfect? No, but I'd still call this a winner. I know I'll come back for a reread.

A few negatives or observations:
Some repetitive phrases and descriptions. I noticed the main characters sometimes expressed themselves too similarly; they would use the same turn of phrase, for instance. I've seen this in other books and it always breaks the spell. It pulls me out of the story momentarily, even if it's for a split second, because I no longer see the character, I see the author behind the character, failing to differentiate her characters. But what do I know, I'm not a writer.

This book was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions, and I loved every minute of it! TL Swan did an incredible job bringing this story to life with a beautifully written storyline. I laughed, cried, and swooned my way through the pages, and I never wanted it to end!

Gabriel, the charmingly infuriating billionaire, totally won me over, and seeing his softer side was a treat. Grace, on the other hand, is one of my favorite female characters—strong, sassy, and fiercely independent. Their chemistry was off the charts, and I loved every moment of their journey together. The drama kept me hooked from start to finish and I found myself completely immersed in their world.

The narrators did an excellent job bringing the characters to life, making it feel like I was watching a movie. This was my first TL Swan book, and I'm definitely a fan now! If you’re looking for a book that’s a total page-turner and makes you feel everything, this is it!

I wanted to like this, I really did. I loved the Miles High series, but I feel like this book was written by a different author. I have no idea how this book has so many 4 and 5 star reviews. This will be long, but I practically never rate a book so low so I want to explain myself.

First, it felt very familiar in the beginning. I thought it was maybe a novella that was made into a full length. After reading another review, apparently that was the case. Here were the problems; Grace and Gabriel were both incredibly immature and selfish. I wasn't even rooting for them to be together. There was nothing redeeming for the longest time. I honestly debated many times on whether to finish. After loving Miles High, I felt like it had to get better and I pushed myself to keep going.

The author is clearly not American (nothing wrong with that!) Except she apparently hadn't done any homework on American English. Grace was supposed to be American, but there was so much British/Australian words and phrases, it was distracting, I don't know how this could have happened. I started highlighting examples until it was just too many. I've not read any other series to know how this one compares. The Miles High I did the audios, and I dont remember the language being an issue, just the non American English threw me so much, it was hard to get thru this one.

I've never seen a grown woman giggle so much. It got to be annoying and I actually checked. Giggle was used 44 times in the book.

There were many sex scenes in the book, and I ended up just skimming them to get thru. I just couldn't get into these two as a couple. They weren't good for each other. She was flat out ignorant to him so many times, and so petty. He was no saint either, but he finally was coming around to be a decent human being towards the end.

I almost forgot about the time jumps! Some were just random within a chapter and you didn't know how much time had passed. It was confusing more than once, like, wait, what? I don't mind a time jump, but we need to know, a month later, a year later, something.

I truly feel bad rating it so low, I pretty much only read authors I know I love, and this one was just disappointing.

I guess this book brought me out of retirement from writing reviews. I’m going to make this short (edit: it was indeed not short💀) because I don’t have good things to say and my momma taught me that if you don’t have anything good to say then to not say anything at all😂

Where to even start? Was it good? No. Was it the worst book ever? Also no.

I’m on the fence because there was some parts of the book that I did like but the bad parts overpowered it.

1. MMC: Gabriel Ferrera
Hated the MMC with a passion. He was a walking red flag in every aspect🚩 and just an asshole in general. Like there was no qualities I thought to myself and said oh yes I like this. I don’t even think he liked Grace as much as the author was trying to convince us. I feel like it was very superficial because he was just trying to get into her pants all the time. He was super rude and egotistical. Like if he didn’t get his way, he would give her the silent treatment and that is a narcissistic tendency if I’ve ever seen one. I don’t even want to talk about how he blamed her for not telling him about the pregnancy (it’s truly both their faults). I also feel like he was more invested in her than his children. Some of his inner monologues/thoughts were so rude. Like the way he would talk about the kids or the FMC. By the end of the book he was really trying but I hated him with all my being by then. Also, at the end of the book we find out why he pushed her away so much when she was his PA and there is an epilogue which details his upbringing and kind of his “trauma”. These two elements are very important details that I think we as the readers should have known earlier in order to truly understand his thought process and why he was acting the way he was. It doesn’t excuse all his behaviour and actions but it makes me understand it more. Could’ve been a good way to have him do a redemption arc.

2. FMC: Grace Porter
Our FMC, had no backbone. She was very much infuriating as well. I wanted to slap her through the screen almost all the time. I gasped so many times from reading her decisions. This girl was so in love with him to the point where I was like she has no self-respect. I truly questioned how she could be so “hurt” by him but still allow him to get close enough to repeat the same shit. And the way she just let him back into her pants? Like girl last time he did that he left you pregnant with twins😀✋🏼 but to each their own. She didn’t even make him work to get her back. There was no GROVELLING AT ALL because she so easily gave in. But at the same time he would do one little thing and expect her to forgive him asap and if not he’d get upset so that was manipulation at its finest. Let’s also talk about how she didn’t try hard enough to let him know she was pregnant. I’ll give her the benefit that she did try twice and the last time she had seen him (pre-🤰) he had told her they had no future and didn’t want anything to do with her ever again. But at the same time she changed her number after the second time and literally moved states😐

3. OUR FMC AND MMC AS A COUPLE:
I was not rooting for them. I was actually rooting against them. At one point Grace is in a serious relationship for three years with another man and the guy is about to propose and I was hoping she would say yes and get married just to rub it in Gabriel’s face. I felt like it was all lust because we didn’t get to see the 7 years previous where they had worked together 24/7 and got to know each other. And until the epilogue we got to see how into her he was from his POV. I didn’t believe in their love.

4. I think the only part of this book I liked was the twins. They were funny and cute. The moments of them as a family were the best parts of the book.

This was fun because the H is such an out of control, ready to flip out drama king at almost any event. He reminded me of Jerry Maguire in that he is a needy nerd trapped behind a handsome-ransom H's face and six pack ab body.

His reaction to the heroine's leaving is priceless. Sadly he falls into some stereotypical bad H behavior. but all ends up okay and he doesn't so much grovel as turn his life upside down to win her back.

I'm tempted to just give it three stars for some incomplete plot points as in the Mark/Deb issue as well as the H's father and mother, but I enjoyed his antics too much.

I can’t stop reading this book. The couple are really lovely.
It’s a great story but I think it doesn’t need to be so long.
It’s worth reading

So this book starts out with Grace being crazily in love with her boss and her boss treating her like garbage. She quits working for him, he finally let himself bang her and then discards her like she was nothing. Literally!

“He gestures to the elevator. “Let’s go.” He walks to the elevator, seemingly unaffected. “I have to get back to the party.” “Oh.” He’s just going back to the party? What the hell? That’s it? I get into the elevator beside him and we turn to face the doors. He straightens his tie and twists his neck as he stares straight ahead. My mind is racing a million miles per minute, what the hell is going on here? I glance over at him, and rather than make eye contact with me, he looks down and fiddles with his cuff links. He’s hard and cold. There’s no banter, no conversation. Nothing.”

Grace gets pregnant that night, moves to a different state. She tries to tell him she is pregnant but he brushes her off and she never get to, so 7 years go by of them being with other people, but they "love" each other and think about each other but completely move on? 🙄 At this point I just couldn’t read any more of this garbage. I cannot even think I actually payed for this.

DNF @ 25% - I tried. I was into the set up. I love a pining, hopelessly devoted, heroine. I love it when all their wildest dreams come true…. And I was into all the angst… but girlfriend doesn’t tell him about his babies for 6 years and never plans to tell him. She tries ONE time while she’s pregnant. Thats just not acceptable to me.

Plus they both move on with OP during the separation and fall in love with others. They fall in love with good people, not villains. 🫤

The hero doesn’t even try to find her. Not once. He doesn’t even know where she lives and he’s just fine with it.

I don’t like either of these people or think they have much of a love that deserves a second chance.

Meh

This review is gonna kill me to write.

Let me preface: I am a TL Swan STAN okay? I love her.

I did not love this book. I honestly tried so hard to even LIKE this book and I couldn’t.

The writing, the characters, the story… literally none of it jived with me. There was not a single character in this book I enjoyed.

Ugh I wanted to love this one but it was not for me. However, I will still be reading her new Kingston Lane book the second it comes out 😂
