How much is too much for a human being to handle? What is it about the human spirit that enables us to push on through insurmountable odds? When it is easier to simply give up? For Julie and Bill, that question loomed over their heads. Serving his second tour in Iraq left Bill with more questions than answers and the possibility of never seeing his wife or newborn son was again was an ache he felt every minute of every day. He had to get home, he promised he would come back to her, but he never meant for it to happen in this way. He never meant for this.

Tommy and Brittany thought they had turned a corner. Things were finally on track after so much turmoil and they both began to look at a future filled with possibilities. That was before an obsessed nurse went after Tommy, by going after his heart and soul. Tommy was forced to make the ultimate decision and in doing so, gave up a piece of him. How would life ever be the same for them?

For Tommy and Brittany and Bill and Julie it was a question they all needed to know. Can love survive the hardest of trials? Can your soul mate hear you in your darkest hour? Can love endure?

What a great book! Loved how we got to know Julie and Bill, and to see their romance blossom, and their family grow. So happy to see Tommy and Brittany get married and find out they are going to have a baby! Then, to see the heartbreak of Bill going to war, and being injured, and going through the recovery.

Now on to book 4 to see what happens next with this extraordinary, amazing family! It is a truly wonderful series!

When I picked up this novel, I expected to read Bill and Julie's story, but instead it focused on Brittany and Tommy. This was how book two should have been written/ended! This book was, once again, too focused on the other couples rather than Bill and Julie. I didn't mind the focus on Brittany and Tommy because book two never did it! But this should be Bill and Julie with the other couples sparse throughout.

I noticed multiple errors to the point I said aloud, "This stuff erks me. Aren't there proofreaders?!"
There was a line that says "Jack is on he floor playing with his mobile" and they meant Julie's baby David. Grammer and spelling mistakes throughout which made this read annoying and seemed really unprofessional.

Nadler did become a little better especially with the cliffhanger at the end. However, there was still a lot of filler copy that was unnecessary. It novel also made more sense as to why the series is called "Family By Choice." A lot of the history was covered in this novel and how/why they are all connected

2.5 out of 5 stars.
