A tale of adventure and romance, filled with many "nevers"...
Darcy and Elizabeth find themselves spending extended time together at Netherfield. Despite his best efforts, Darcy cannot help but fall deeply in love with her. Elizabeth is oblivious to what lies beneath Darcy's reserved exterior. Just as Darcy prepares to reveal his feelings, an unexpected adventure unfolds, leading to a series of events filled with angst, surprises, and ultimately, a happily ever after for the couple.
The plot was interesting and even though I skimmed quite a bit, I did finish the whole book. However, the writing is atrocious & frankly reads like a first draft that was never edited at all. The novel even includes a repeated sentence along with the many errors and simplistic style. I think if this had been well edited it could have been great.
I read the free sample. It seems promising but would benefit from another round of editing. The language comes across as ESL writing, perfectly comprehensible but the grammar may be a bit awkward here and there.
This is a book for those who prefer telling over showing, which I confess, is not my preferred style. It is an interesting plot and short enough to be a palate cleanser after longer variations, but everything is very much on fast forward, so you will be told what the characters are feeling (rather than shown) and the end of each chapter anticipates future events.
Like so, and I'm paraphrasing, "Mr. Darcy loved Elizabeth, but he didn't know he would be telling her this that very day, but that she would be unconcious". And each chapter ends that way, hinting at what is to come, which is a style choice, and again, not one I personally enjoy, but others do.
What I liked about this book was Mr. and Mrs. Hurst. I really liked that Louisa stood up to Caroline and came to defend Elizabeth, and that Mr. Hurst had a part in foiling some of Miss Bingley's plans. While the Hursts are generally overlooked or just on Caroline's side, I thought this was a really refreshing change of pace.
Yes, the premise is interesting. Elizabeth changes Darcy after explaining exactly why she despises him. Then she no longer despises him, she falls in love with him.
Then, she gets abducted in a Wickham inspired nefarious plot to extort money from Darcy. Strangely, Darcy finds her within hours, but she is injured. She will heal, but those she tried to protect are extremely grateful.
Mr Darcy and Elizabeth love each other but stupidly refuse to confess such feelings.
The most annoying part is the grammar, spelling, and editing errors!!! I feel pained when Colonel Forster has his name mangled into Forrester or Foster, or Kympton is twisted into Kempton. And 'do you know HOW I am?' was asked by Catherine de Burgh. So many things wrong, I just shook my head. I endured to the HEA but I won't return to this ANNOYING variation.
The errors and the flow of the writing has me convinced this is an AI product! What happened to Wickham? A normal writer would have explained what happened to the villains, all of them! Good story line but very poor execution!
This variation was wonderful in giving hits but not giving everything away. I also enjoyed how the action move the storyline along. There were a few slow paced pages but overall enjoyed this variation!
An interesting premise and entertaining twists in characters in this variation inspired by Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice by Durga Ekambaram.
This was an interesting plot but I put off by the disconcerting use of weird words throughout the work. Also the author used teasers at the completion of each chapter which I am not sure added to the work .
