Rate this book
The Show Me State has lots to be proud of--the Pony Express, Mark Twain, the International Bowling Museum, a billion-gallon underground lake to name just a few. Everything has a story. With Josh Young at your side, enjoy a hilarious tour of Missouri, where there's a law against worrying squirrels and a museum celebrating "the unexplained."

Read it once, now I need to read it again with a 2009 calendar at hand to write down all the special events. I bought this hoping to find some material for my blog (Craves, Caves, and Graves) and I did find a few things I didn't know about.

I know he can't cover EVERYTHING, but there were a few choice "Oddities" left out. I don't remember seeing Stanton in there, and they have Meramec Caverns, the Jesse James Wax Museum, AND a Toy Museum, all right there off 44.

I expected lost of roadside balls of twine and the largest twinkie in the world kind of stuff. It was more like parks with big rocks and really old trees. A little disappointing. Probably won't do the Missouri Roadside Oddity tour I was planning this spring.
