Lots of information and where to go; what to do; where to stay; and what to see in Madeira. Only setback with this travel book is that there isn't enough photos of the places that the author recommends which would help the reader get a better idea of the surroundings. Otherwise a book packed with a lot of information. Makes one ready to go on a trip. Hope to get to Madeira one day. Especially for its wine!
You only need two guidebooks for Madeira- this one and the popular Sunflower book for walks & hikes.
The Lonely Planet guides are always up-to-date and useful, with these little pocket books being even handier to throw in your bag. It may be compact in size but it covers everything that you need to know for visiting Madeira in a friendly manner.
Great restaurant recommendations, always a pleasure reading these guides about the locations before a trip. Very nice to have a real paper book as well, it beats constantly looking at screens for information.
This guide is one of the only Madeira-specific guides I found, and luckily it was great! Great suggestions of attractions, natural settings, restaurants, and shops. We used it multiple times and found everything to be up-to-date.
