This level 3 Magic Reader gives a basic look at American alligators including where and how they live. The text is accessible for new readers. The illustrations are an odd digital collage of photographs and background textures that distract from(rather than add to) the text. At $21.79 I would expect a Lexile to be included – more useful than a reference to common core on an introductory page. This is an optional purchase for larger collections.
