An introvert. A hermit. An orphan. A virgin. Charley. That’s who I was.
Growing up in nothing but the gloom I was willing to engulf myself in, stuck between hoping to be seen but wanting to remain cloaked in invisibility, I was buried in a heap of scorched black rose petals and love notes the moment I moved to New York City.
I wasn’t entirely unlovable, you see? I had a stalker, someone who was totally enamored with me. He was consistently cognizant, forever lurking in the shadows, constantly craving, and he never failed to notice the unseen me, no matter where I hid.
But sometimes things are not as they seem.
Everything changed the evening I went to that party. I was chased by two masked men through the woods, and from that night on, I’d been swept into a world of chaos and untamed pleasure. Just when I thought the darkness could no longer devour me, as it has my entire life, I somehow found myself falling deeper into it.
Greed. Betrayal. Power. Revenge. Swan. That‘s who I am now.
Authors note: Please check the trigger warnings at the back of this book or find me on Instagram @Jodie_King_Author to read the full list.
I definitely didn't expect that the "death" listed on the trigger warning list would the death of a main character and that completely destroyed the book for me. I just absolutely hate when books that are advertised as why-choose with an HEA ends up with one of the people in the poly-relationship dying.
I HATE THIS TROPE. SO MUCH.
I wish I could avoid it, but it's impossible to know if the author would end up breaking the poly-relationship by killing one of people in it.
The writing is also quite choppy and the timelines confusing, not in a good way.
This was an ARC for me and I'm really sad how much I hated it.
EDIT: Saying it was advertised as why-choose might be wrong BUT it was advertised as an MFM which gives the readers an impression that this is a THROUPLE/POLY. One of the main characters died and there was BARELY any HEA for the remaining couple. This should be a romantic tragedy to be honest.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I’m mopping my brow, scrunching my head, my tissues are beside me, I could not put this one down 🥵🥶🔪💀🩸🖤
As you know I try not to give away any spoilers but this book totally wiped me out (see tissues needed lol). It was a slow burn to start with, to lead you into the story, lots of hot smexy times between our FMC Charley and our MMCs Chaos and Reign 🔥 until secrets and lies slice them apart. Charley has to find a strength she really hasn’t got and it’s hard to read because you want to fight on her behalf. The guys also go through some trauma with their parents and this all leads us to betrayal, again you want to knock heads together 😈 They do get some help from Arlo, he’s a badass too 😱
For our MCs it unfortunately gets worse before it takes a step forward, onwards to something happier 🤔
Gotta say it’s hard to not give you anymore, best advice I can offer is read the book, you’re either going to love it or hate it 🤭 🖤❤️ but if you do have either emotion to it, remember that’s your own opinion it would be a boring world if all readers felt the same 😉 Variety is the spice of life!
I feel like I need to go to church and sit under a waterfall of holy water after this book LOL. This was my first book by Jodie King and she did not disappoint!
This book is an MFM Stalker, Dark Mafia Romance. You've got your innocent, introverted, virgin FMC discovering that she had a stalker since she was 16 when she moved to NYC. One stalker is revealed as two when she goes to a party one day and her stalkers decide they want to take a more... hands-on approach. Her whole world spirals from there.
Our MMCs are AMAZING. Absolutely love love loved them. It was obvious who the stalkers were, but Jodie put in some twists where it really made you question... were they? were they not? what is going on?
She really kept me on my toes with this one. I kept reading purely to know what the heck was going on next, because there were so many questions and twists! She gave hints of information in such small doses that it had you crawling back for more.
I do have to say that I felt like the smut was like 500 pages out of the 624 LOL. Which is definitely not a bad thing, but not typically what I go for when reading a longer book like this one. I also have beef with Jodie for that ending. 😭😤 like she is gonna catch these hands for that.
Overall, I'd say check the trigger warnings then check them again before reading. If you like books on the heavier spice side, this is the one for you! The MMCs also gave me Sean and Dom vibes from the Ravenhood Series, but more dark and rough. Which is a huge compliment because I love them and I have not been able to find another book that gave me the same feels as that book.
This way my introduction to Jodie. And let me tell you it was one hell of an introduction. If you have things that trigger you easily just stay away from this one. However, if think of TW/CW as a checklist make this a priority read immediately.
The story Charley a 21 year old female who has been stalked and terrorized since she was 16 years old. The stalking started after she moved to New York to live with her new foster parent Nana. She had hoped that going to college and moving into a dorm would bring the stalking to an end. Well, she was so very wrong. One night after going to a mansion party with her friend she leaves with a guy. Let's just say things did not end well for the guy. And that's why Charley finds out that she has 2 stalkers working together.
Fast forward a week or so Charley is talked into going back to the mansion for a laid-back pool party. Which is where she meets Chaos and Reign the owners of the mansion. The two men quickly become her protectors and lovers.
This story has everything hidden identities, lies and deception, revenge plots galore, pain, secrets, trauma, loss, and so much delicious smut. You'll be hooked by the first chapter. Just be prepared to be taken on one the of most emotional book rollercoasters you've been on in quite a while.
Talk about an emotional uppercut. Jodie did not pull her punches with this book.
The first half of this book is heavy on the extra spice, throughout it though, there’s little nuggets of information that relate to the plot. I think it was so freaking cleverly written, as you really had to start mapping out what was going on, and if you think you’re on the right track i guarantee you’ll end up on the wrong one. Jodie had me guessing then second guessing till the end, then broke my heart, then fixed it.
The smexy spicy scenes in this book are so fucking hot - which is something I come to expect from Jodie now. The MFM action in the fun house at the carnival? Hellllllo primal play.
As always check your triggers, while this book isn’t as dark as The Hollow Trilogy or TIL Def, it’s emotionally charged to the max. There are also quite descriptive scenes of r@pe and violence so be aware before jumping in - it’s still a DARK dark romance.

Book overview:
We have Charley, our introverted FMC who grows so much in this book. She has been stalked for 5 years by two stalkers who keep attacking her dates - leaving her feeling alone and isolated. She attends college and befriends her roommate, who invites her to a party of a famous rapper. Enter Chaos (I love you) and Reign. These boys are brothers in every sense but blood. And of course, Charley catches their attention. They help her take down her demons and transform into a queen.
Jodie King will make you fall in love with her characters, scare you, break your heart, and build you up again...all within Into Darkness We Fall. You will smile wide, your heart will beat a mile a minute from fear, you'll cry angry tears, and you'll scream and bawl when your heart breaks. Trust me, Into Darkness We Fall is one hell of an emotional rollercoaster, and I'd read it all over again. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and it's a book that if I could read it for the first time again, I would.
Charley has lived a very tough life. She's bounced from foster home to foster home until she settles with an elderly woman whom she calls Nana. Nana takes in Charley and treats her like family, teaching her Russian, saving up for her future education, and more. During her 5 years with Nana, Charley has held a very big secret, she has a stalker. A stalker that is obsessed with her, never hurt her, but is very clear in what he/she wants - Charley. When Nana passes, Charley goes to college in New York where she meets her roommate and best friend, Lucy. Her stalker has followed her to NY. While at school, Charley decides to branch out with her friend Lucy, even though she's quite the introvert. During a few of these outings, Charley meets a local rapper, Chaos, and his best friend/brother, Reign, a local MMA fighter.
Chaos is a local rapper who indulges quite frequently in herb. He's a lyrical genius and tends to prefer being alone. His father is the head of the local Russian mafia, the Bratva. Chaos is his heir. For the last 5 years, Chaos has been on an assignment with his best friend/brother, Reign, and during this time, they've done everything they're required to do and more. When Chaos sees Charley at his home, he's enthralled with her and how different she is from every other fan and family member and friend that hangs around his house - just using his fame for attention. Chaos is persistent and pursues Charley...bringing Reign in because what's better than one Bratva member covered in tattoos, muscle, and is a closet romantic...two of them, minus Reign isn't too keen on expressing his emotions.
Reign is a local MMA fighter whose father is also the leader of the local Russian mafia. Reign is his heir to the throne, to be seated with Chaos. Besides his MMA career, he's also been following through on orders from their fathers for the last 5 years and doing so with strict dedication. When Charley walks into his life, Reign is experiencing feelings he didn't know existed. She's an enigma for him, a saving grace, and absolute perfection. It's has if she was made for him and Chaos.
Unfortunately, Chaos and Reign are withholding a secret from Charley that she soon discovers that changes everything. Will Chaos, Reign, and Charley be able to come back from the deceit? Is forgiveness an option? Can Chaos and Reign go against their family to protect Charley? Is Charley capable of spreading her wings and flying? Or will Charley run from her life's destiny?
Into Darkness We Fall is a dark Bratva romance that encapsulates everything regarding the crime syndicate - lies, deceit, secret families, revenge, vengeance, murder, loyalty, disloyalty, spice, and more. Charley's character growth, completely encouraged by Chaos, is immense, and you'll be cheering her on like she's your best friend. Chaos goes from a man trapped within his father's shadow to the man willing to give up everything for the love of his life. Reign discovers that he's capable of not only showing emotions but expressing them. All three main characters grow and become a force to be reckoned with. Their story will take you on a wild ride that you never want to end.
Set yourself up with your reading device, a couple of drinks, a box of tissues, some comfy clothes, a blanket and a pillow. Once you're settled in to begin the story of Charley, Chaos, and Reign, you will not want to stop.
Well this book too me on one hell of a journey. What started out as a timid girls dark fantasy nightmare, of being stalked by a masked stranger. Leqving her creepy messages to remind her that she belongs to him.
Turned into something way more powerful and scary.
Secrets unlocked, intense steam galour, broken souls stumbling through the darkness of the world.
She just wanted to be loved, to feel wanted and to feel like she belonged and by god did she get it from the unexpected of people.
Once a so timid, fragile and vulnerable little thing turned into the most powerful queen ever.
This will have you screaming at the bad guys and crying many times for our broken trio. You will most def swoon and melt for the bad boys, Reign (the beast with a soft centre) and Chaos (wordsmith and sweet gust of wind)
I highly recommemd this book, but read at your own risk because this book is not for the faint hearted. This book is dark with a light at the end of the tunnel, but it will build you up and break you over and over again till you can no longer take it. But will reward you for your devoted bravey with the sweetest of endings.
• When I tell you I was obsessed from the very first page? It’s not an understatement. Jodie wrote an absolutely phenomenal book, I was seriously so engrossed and I was completely and utterly blown away.
• The MCs. Let me tell you something. I friggen loved them so much. Charley, the FMC, absolutely stunning character. Whether it’s her upbringing, the stalking, her newfound sexuality, her trauma, she is an absolute BEAST. Nothing makes me happier than a bada$$ FMC. And the MMCs? Chaos and Reign. We all should strive to have men like that. Their power and presence, their primal energy. Talk about MAJOR swoon. 2 new book boyfriends to my list? That’s a big fat YES! 🥵
• I honestly cannot recommend this book enough. Absolutely 100% read this one. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
🖤 MFM Dark Bratva Romance 🖤 Double - Stalker 🖤 Introvert/Virgin FMC 🖤 Age Gap 🖤 Emotional Rollercoaster 🖤 Lose/Grief … and more
From start to finish I was consumed with this book, these character's omg I swear it had me by the throat the whole time I was reading. I was at first upset with what happened in here. I kept denying it hoping it wasn't true but I understand why it had to happen, but ugh I'm still not okay that just broke my heart. These character's will literally make you fall in love with them like they did with me.
“But always know, Char, that I now sit in your darkest hours with you, and you will never be alone. Your tears and sadness now belong to me. You don't have to carry it by yourself; it's equally mine, and if it becomes too much to bear, I'll need you to fucking share it with me so I can shoulder the weight and give you some time to rest and revive.”😭
This is my first book by this arthur and it won't be my last. This book is for all those who love their book's dark it will check all the boxes. It's a must read.
Beware of the triggers before going in so check them before reading.
This book has it all: MMF, stalker romance, mafia romance, mask play, touch her and die. The dynamic between all three characters was perfect and very well balanced. Chaos and Reign were everything you would want in a protective MMC and gave their all for Charley. In the end, I really enjoyed. I gave it 3 stars because I felt like the smut kind of overshadowed what would’ve been a really good plot. However, if you’re a mood reader and smut is what you’re looking for, then this book is 1000% perfect for that.
Jodie King never disappoints! You will fall in love with her characters. She is a phenomenal story teller. She will capture not only your mind but your heart as well.🥀💘
Into Darkness We Fall is a eloquently, hauntingly beautifully written dark romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It made my heart pound and I cried like a baby. I absolutely 💯 ♥️ love this freaking story. It has so many twits and turns and will literally keep you guessing. Grab a drink, kleenex and quiet corner and be prepared to lose all space and time. Please be mindful of the Trigger Warnings⚠️ ⚠️Mature Content ⚠️⚠️
"Into Darkness We Fall" by Jodie King is a spicy and emotionally intense read that takes readers on a wild rollercoaster of suspense, romance, and raw emotion. From the start, the book pulls you into the life of Charley, a young woman whose seemingly ordinary college experience is anything but. Living in New York, Charley has been plagued by stalkers for five years, making her reluctant to form meaningful relationships, especially romantic ones.
The narrative shifts dramatically when Chaos, a charismatic and irresistibly attractive music artist, enters her life. Their chemistry is palpable, and the growing tension is both thrilling and heart-wrenching. Adding to the mix is Chaos's brother, Reign, who finds himself unexpectedly drawn to Charley, creating a complex and enticing reverse harem dynamic.
The story is filled with dark twists and secrets, with the stalkers' identities and Charley's hidden past looming over every chapter. King's modern writing style adds authenticity to the dialogue and brings an edge to the narrative, but the author doesn't shy away from explicit content. The intensity of the relationships and the darker themes might not be for everyone, so readers are encouraged to check the trigger warnings beforehand.
Despite the provocative elements, what stands out most is the emotional depth. King expertly balances the heat of the romance with the emotional turmoil of Charley's journey, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. There's a feeling of urgency as the truth slowly unravels, and the stakes are continually raised.
"Into Darkness We Fall" is a compelling read that blends romance, suspense, and mystery. It will appeal to readers who enjoy a spicy, reverse harem setup with plenty of drama and emotional intensity. If you don't mind explicit content and are ready for a story that takes you through a whirlwind of feelings, this book is highly recommended. Just be sure to brace yourself for the twists and turns along the way.
First off the cover is gorgeous & the page art is 🖤 • My thoughts during this book. I had percentages but took them away bc you can’t peek lol. ⬇️ My mind is reeling. I am speechless And my heart breaks for Char I’m rendered speechless AGAIN. I cant wait for what’s to come. It was perfect I currently can’t move and I am not fond of Jodie in this moment. I am glad for the HEA & the ending. • I am currently numb. I don’t think I’ll ever read a book that will compare. Ever. Jodie, I have never in my life read a book that took me on such an emotional rollercoaster. Charley is fvck1ng amazing, she fought through every outer and inner battle and rose above it. Chaos, well. I don’t know where to start, he is perfect and I can’t say anymore bc I won’t be a spoiler. Reign, the power he has in everything he does. His name fits him PERFECT. I’m not a huge rereader but I will wear this one out. Thank you for picking me to be apart of this beautiful ARC read. It was such beautiful chaos. 🖤🥀
With the reviews, I thought this would be the next read that would engulf me.
Needless to say, IT DID NOT!
The writing format was not cutting it for me. It felt a bit over the top with the many extra added words! It just made me feel like the author overused words to make it more appealing, but no, it made it not so relatable.
Had a good storyline, but missed the mark for me. Disappointing 😔
This is a MFM double stalker DARK mafia romance. It will not be for everyone and you MUST check the TW/CW before starting. The content, both on and off page, will not be suitable for everyone. This covers dark topics that may be triggering.
If you’re looking for a book that is both super spicy and emotionally charged; this is the book for you.
This story follows the life of 21 year old Charley and her masked stalker secret. One party changes everything and what she thought to be true, turned out to be the tip of an iceberg full of secrets, lies and revenge. Charley was plunged into the chaotic world of the Bratva.
I’m currently living my masked stalker era right now and this book did not disappoint. It ticked all my boxes and gave me the fear factor for free.
Jodie totally smashed it with this book; it was the perfect plot to spice ratio. It was full of raw emotion and pure pleasure; it had you trembling in both senses. It was a clever mix of wicked sin and emotional turmoil. The plot was cleverly thought out with the spice woven throughout the scenes. Yes, the spice was heavy; but it didn’t deter from the emotional conflict of the story. There were times during this read that I felt like I’d received a sucker punch to the gut and I struggled to physically breathe. The emotions this book dragged out of me were staggering. It puts you through your paces so buckle the fuck up; it’s a traumatic ride. It has that many twists and turns you won’t know which way to look.
Jodie painted a truly amazing picture here and it sucked me right in from very beginning. The characters were beautifully written; each so unique. The detail and depth shown to every character was outstanding. The trauma featured in this book was handled respectfully and with great care and empathy.
Charley was unknowingly beautiful and just wanted to be loved. This new world sucked her in, chewed her up and spat her back out. She suffered greatly and it broke your heart. It amazing to watch her rise from the ashes and become the Queen she always was. Reign and Chaos were everything you would expect from possessive MMC’s but they each had their own twists and you just fell for both of the hard. I had a soft spot for Reign from the beginning, he gave me serious daddy vibes. Chaos was emotional and loving and I wanted to hug him and never let go whereas Reign was harsh and dominant and struggled with the emotional side. They made an excellent duo and their characters worked.
🥀MFM 🥀Double Stalker 🥀Enemies to Lovers 🥀Age Gap 🥀Trauma 🥀Dominant MMC’s
Would highly recommend to those on the search for a book that was emotional and panty wetting at the same time ♥️
I was completely consumed by this book. I loved every second of it. It was an amazing book. The darkness was perfect and the spice was 🔥. The sad parts made me ugly cry so much.
This book gutted me at the end. I cried at almost every chapter towards the end. This book will gut you completely and then slowly put you back together again.
This book didn’t capture me as much until about 30 percent. But once it did I was hooked. I fell for Reign immediately and I truly think he deserved better in a way. Although I am pleased with the ending. The last 20 percent did almost end me.
This review is coming a few days after finishing this book because I needed some time to collect my thoughts.
I am so dang impressed with the writing of this book. I was fully invested from the get go. I was in the story with the characters.
I loved the fmc Charley so much and felt everything she was feeling. I felt her rage, felt it when she cried, the heartbreak, the disappointment, the love and even the SPICY SMUTTY scenes. 🥵🥵🥵
Reign and Chaos were amazing mmc's. Chaos was the more sensitive in his feelings while Reign was a hard one to crack. When I tell you I cried thought this book, I mean I sobbed. It was so beautifully written.
I will forever be a Jodie King fan and she quickly made it to my auto buy author list.
My BEST read of 2024! It’s been such a long time since I’ve found a book that made me feel as though I was living the FMCs life through book. The emotional rollercoaster I was riding I was not expecting but Jodie did NOT disappoint! This book checked all my boxes- the smut, the angst, the men in masks. From feeling giddy and happy to down right crying in the club, this book will be the book that lives in my head rent free. The book I recommend to anyone when a certain trope pops up, and the book I’ll think about years from now I see similar tropes. If you’re looking for a book that’s downright filthy but also has a great plot, HIGHLY recommend you read this book!
Spice? 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5
Please make sure to read TWs as there are some heavy ones 🫶🏻
I’ve been waiting to read this for ages and let me tell you it did not disappoint! Absolutely beautiful story by an amazing author who writes so beautifully. I had a lot of emotions about this book, I cried, laughed and it also broke my heart. The characters were so amazingly written and I loved each personality in the book. Amazing plot, one minute you think you know what’s going to happen and you really don’t, I was really not expecting it to end the way it did but it was a happy and kinda sad ending. Overall absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone who loves dark romance!
WOW!!!! Into Darkness We Fall is a beautiful story of strength, love, and betrayal. Jodie did an excellent job telling the story of this trio. It will definitely pull at your heartstrings as you will go through so many emotion’s.
Please make sure to read trigger warnings!
I would definitely give more stars if I could because it was that freaking beautiful.
🌶️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I’m super pumped to read more from this amazingly talented author. You’ve got a fan!! 🤗
Charley is a college student who had a stalker. She’s has a stalker since she was 16 years old. One that threatens any man in her life. She’s thrown into Chaos & Reign’s world against her will.
I enjoyed this book. I was able to guess who her stalkers were, but there were a few plot twists that I wasn’t expecting. And while the ending wasn’t the one I was expecting, I still had fun reading this book. I enjoyed watching Charley find her own voice & stand up for herself.
If I could give this book 10 stars it still wouldn’t be enough. This is my first time reading a Jodie King book, and I have to say she did not disappoint. This book is poetically written and will leave your soul aching. It is a book that all dark romance readers would devour. Jodie King is my new favorite author and I can’t wait to dive deep into the next book.
If I could give this book 6 stars I would in a heartbeat. This book was full of plot, drama, spice, and the character connections were 10/10. Charley, Chaos, and Reign were top notch characters 🔥🔥
Oh my. This is a MFM story between Chaos, Reigns and Charley. 🖤 yes. No? Who knows. Twists, turns, spice, and lots of questions keeps you engaged through the entire book. Ma’am why tho?!? I’m not crying you’re crying 😭
‘I will become your favorite sin. Your guilty pleasure. A fucking obsession, just as you are to me. We'll revel in each other's madness."
“Sometimes I just want to end it all. All the flashbacks and I can feel him crawling all over my skin. I hear his cruel, hurtful words whispered repeatedly in my mind when I am trying to sleep. I cannot stop it, no matter how hard I try.”
“But always know, Char, that I now sit in your darkest hours with you, and you will never be alone. Your tears and sadness now belong to me. You don't have to carry it by yourself; it's equally mine, and if it becomes too much to bear, I'll need you to fucking share it with me so I can shoulder the weight and give you some time to rest and revive
OMG!! This sent me through all the emotions, happiness, sadness, angry, mad, devastated, happy again, devastated again. This was brilliant!! The story had me engrossed from the first chapter! Loved the character development. I especially appreciated the the Russian text, being Russian myself, this was a beautiful touch! Loved this. Jodie King is just the QUEEN of writing amazing men, love stories and ripping my heart out and putting it back together!!
