I am so glad to read this again as an adult. I have a much better understanding of slavery now and was worried to read this as I remember loving it as a child. It does look at slavery through rose colored glasses but the admiration I had as a child for Booker T. Washington because of this biography did not dim by re reading it but grew even more.
