The Godhunter #12

Perchance To Die

Rate this book
The Godhunter enters the Realm of Dreams. The excitement continues as Vervain discovers that even her dreams are no longer safe. Vervain Lavine, Godhunter, Witch, Shapeshifter, Goddess, and Faerie. Life has become a little confusing with so many titles but the one place Vervain could always find sanctuary was in her dreams. Now even that is taken from her when an unknown god starts hunting the Godhunter in her sleep. Then there's Odin, or rather Griffin, who has yet to remember his true past or the part Vervain played in it. Add to that the assembling of a mutant army led by a sharp-dressed and sharply coiffured Indian, and you have a recipe for an epic nightmare. If only she could get a moment's rest, Vervain might be able to deal with it all but even in Faerie she can't escape. The newly created dark fey are having problems controlling their element. Between the dark fey and her dark dreams, the Godhunter's unable to find any solace and sleeping has become only another way to die. The saga continues, taking the Godhunter across the realms and through her dreams. Join the adventure, hurry and grab your copy today!

Amy Sumida is the Internationally Acclaimed author of the Award-Winning Godhunter Series, the fantasy paranormal Twilight Court Series, the Beyond the Godhunter Series, the music-oriented paranormal Spellsinger Series, the superhero Spectra Series, and several short stories. Her books have been translated into several languages, have won numerous awards, and are bestsellers. She believes in empowering women through her writing as well as providing everyone with a great escape from reality. Her stories are full of strong women and hot gods, shapeshifters, vampires, dragons, fairies, gargoyles... pretty much any type of supernatural, breathtakingly gorgeous man you can think of. Because why have normal when you could have paranormal?
Born and raised in Hawaii, Amy made a perilous journey across the ocean with six cats to settle in the beautiful state of Oregon which reminds her a lot of Hawaii but without the cockroaches or evil sand. When she isn't trying to type fast enough to get down everything the voices in her head are saying while her kitties try to sabotage her with cuteness, she enjoys painting on canvases, walls, and anything else that will sit still long enough for the paint to dry. She prefers antiques to modern furniture, tea to coffee, night to day, and Tom Hardy to Tom Hiddleston. No; Tom Hiddleston to Tom Hardy. No, wait... Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston to Tom Cruise. Yes, that's it.

I think this might be the end for me. I’m finding the Godhunter series a complete bore. 🥱 The middle of the road writing & recycled plot line is boring me. After toggling between the last two books I thought the series was picking up some but no. How many times will the FMC get abduct by the bad guy before it’s been overused? 13 books in & we have little forward momentum on the overall story arc, what a disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend this series if you’re interested in Amy Sumida’s work I’d point you towards The Twilight Court series. It’s a more involved plot line with an interesting FMC.

So many wonderful things happen in this book that even if I was willing to put out spoilers, I wouldn't know where to begin. I liked the new characters, the dark fey and the god of dreams, and hope to see more of them, whether they redeem themselves or not. There was a lot of redeeming going on in this book, and some of Vervain's true fears are exposed. I love this series, and hope Amy keeps writing more.

I would have given this 5 stars but the fact she was captured against her will again it only gets 4! Still love this series though!

I don’t like starting a series and not finishing it, and this series does get better the further along you go.

This just keeps getting better and better. What I love about Vervain the most is her self-awareness. Even she gets tired of being abducted. Too bad this isn't a series split pair, I've gotten used to reading two books at a time and her time with Arach is decreased here. And Odin! I'm just glad for what happened here since my eyes are still a bit swollen from crying a few books before. This totally makes up for it.
I was dreading that she's going to add another male but thankfully, V's been insightful and didn't allow M to be one

Three cheers for Vervain!!!!

Follow Vervain on her journey and you can really get into it. I love that the descriptions of things are JUST ENOUGH to give me a mental image but doesn't ramble on and on in description. The spoken content vs descriptive content is almost 50/50 So there is a TON of great interaction to really give these stories flow. You can't get any better than Any Sumida!

I've read this series over and over with each new book that gets released and yet I still cry each time!
Amy is such an amazing talent and I'll keep on reading as long as she keeps writing. I especially enjoy learning about all the different culturals mythologies. Tied in with Vervains story it's definitely an exciting ride!

Wow

I was up and down in this book....does Vervain mean trouble. I can't believe that there is still that much trouble looking for her. Hopefully fairie is balanced out, that whole dream thing freaked me right out.

While there were interesting things happening here, I didn't feel as if there was much progression of the overall storyline. Yeah, stuff happens, but the action felt slower paced than normal. A good story, worth the read, but predictable for the most part.

Godhunter 12

Vervain and the Godsquad are back. This time trying to help Odin remember himself. Then Vervain is getting a visitor in her dreams, her dark fey are misbehaving and Tehron's twin brother is creating mutants. A roller coaster ride for sure.

This is a review for books 1-13. I am actually enjoying this series a lot. A couple of things I wasn't a fan of was the 4 books that you had to switch back and forth. Other than that it was pretty well done.

I love this series so much! I’ve been binging it for 9 days now and have read 14 of the books. Great for quarantine when there’s nothing better to do.

In this addition to the Godhunter series, Vervain is having problems with the new "Oden." He's not who he wants was, and he's not taking things very well. Then add in the fact that every time she tries to sleep someone is invading her dreams and things aren't going well there either.

Vervain is in danger, and must have help figuring it out before it is too late for her.

This book was good, and sad. I hated the stuff that was happening with the new Oden. I just want him to be Oden again. But, it was interesting to see Vervain deal with new obstacles and issues that arose as well.

Excited for more in this series!

I love this series!

This series is awesome! The ups and downs are intense and I have loved every adventure so far. Vervain is a kick ass heroine. I also love her multiple loves and how that aspect of the story is written. I definitely recommend this series and can't wait to read the next book.

So many problems are introduced in this book its like the opener for the next one (maybe two) books in the series. A few of the issues in the last book are resolved and our team finds new allies and of course troubles. Excited for thr next few books before 16 cuz that is the *spoiler* book. Alot is about to go down over the next few stories. So excited.

This one as well just wasn’t that good. There were some great scenes, but they wear off quickly. I need more!! Even Odin coming back wasn’t that wow anymore.
