Teaching children responsibility with love -
Uncle Amos children's book is a great way of teaching toddlers and young children the importance of cleaning up after playtime and keeping their rooms clean. The beautiful colorful illustrations have much meaning keeping the children interested and focused. The parents bond with their young children at the same time explaining responsibility and importance in their lives ahead.
We meet young Ron who is five years old and loves to play with his many toys when his friend John comes over to visit him. Ron and John have great imaginations – Ron disobeys his mother’s rules of cleaning up his toys and reprimands him with no friends visiting and playing at home until such time he begins to obey the rules of putting his toys away and keeping his room clean.
This book is a great way of teaching children responsibility and obedience. A lovely little book recommended for parent to child.

Plain sensible language, easy-reading sentences, fun story-line, nice lesson, clear type-face, and bright happy illustrations come together in Magical Toys, Uncle Amos’ picture book for children and their parents. If your child’s bedroom floor is filled with toys which really belong on the shelf, this is the book for you.

I enjoyed the smooth, very natural language of this story, and I liked the bright colors, clear images, and well-drawn facial expressions on Ron, his friend, and his parents. A video “gift” at the end even allows children to watch and hear the story on their computer, making it something they’re sure to enjoy returning to. And again, the reading voice is as smooth and natural as the text.

Pictures and text don’t precisely agree on all pages, so a child hunting the dog, rabbit and tiger of page 1 will have to wait until later to see them play, just as Ron might have to wait to find them. It's a problem that fits the story well. In one place toys on the floor reappear on the shelf, then return to their game, which might startle the reader. But it’s a very natural game, with natural imagination reminding me of my own sons at play when they were small.

Children and parents will easily relate, and those magical toys have a lesson they will genuinely like to hear.

Disclosure: The author kindly sent me a copy and asked if I’d like to review it. I liked it. I’m reviewing it.

Magical Toys is another book in the Uncle Amos series, which are aimed at teaching young children valuable life lessons. In this tale, a five year old boy named Ron is fortunate enough to live in a beautiful home with lots of toys, probably more than he needs. One day Ron's friend John comes over to play. They use their imaginations to create a circus train scenario with good and bad guys. Suppertime rolls around much to soon; Ron's mother asks them to clean up. Ron promises they will, but he and John have already decided that maybe she won't notice. When Ron's mother discovers the mess, she forbids having friend's over to play. But this is not the end of Ron's dilemma; his toys are going to have something to say as well! Will Ron continue to suffer the consequences for his behavior, and will his toys ever forgive him?

The simple computer illustrations and text will appeal to the very young reader. Uncle Amos uses personification and repetition effectively to make his point that children must become responsible for their actions and belongings. Many young children have difficulty picking up. Parents, teachers and librarians will find this book helpful in encouraging children to be responsible.

Ron had a room full of wonderful toys. He played with them every afternoon when he came home from school. One day he invited a friend over to play with him. They played hard until it was time for John to go home. Ron’s mom told him to clean up the toys. Ron waited to continue playing. When they looked at how messy the room was they knew it would be a lot of hard work. John convinced Ron they needed to leave everything here it was so they could play with it the net day. When Ron’s mom saw Ron had not cleaned his room she was angry with him. She told him Ron couldn’t come over. Ron was just as upset with hi mom. He didn’t think she was being fair. Suddenly Ron started hearing voices. Who was talking to him? What did they want?

Will Ron clean his room? Will mom allow him to have friends over again? Read this wonderful book that teaches children the importance of being responsible for their possessions. Then check out more of Uncle Amos’ books.

We didn’t read the book but watched a video of it after an episode of struggle with my son about cleaning up his toys. The book was great. In a very simple story, the value of cleaning up and taking care of toys was told.

Magical Toys: A story about Organization and Taking car of your toys, is a children’s story that is written for ages 3-8. I have just one little one that is 20 months old and when I read it to her she loved it. Some stories I read to her she sits on my lap and listens to for a minute or two and then shes bored and gets down and goes play with something else. With Magical Toys she stayed interested and engaged. She loved the little pictures of the little boy and the toys. She was pointing things out and letting me tell her what is going on. We really enjoyed reading it and we will read it again and again. I think it does help explain to a child in a fun way that he or she should clean up their toys and take good care of their toys if they really care for them. I honestly think this is a great book for kids and it is on the kindle right now for .99 cents and I think it is worth every penny!

Well thought out story about learning to take care of your belongings. Ron is having a great time with his friend John, playing with a lot of wonderful toys. He knows how to use his creative imagination and when playtime ends, he fails to follow the rules by cleaning up the mess. Punishment is the consequence of not following rules, however, when the toys magically come to life and explain why they must be put neatly away, Ron realizes he has an obligation to take care of them. This is a good book to use as a gateway to understanding responsibility to both yourself and things that are in your care. The toys complain that they are being abused and feel he does not care about them. Ron learns that you have to take care of your belongings if you want to keep them in the right shape. Really a great idea to teach children about being both responsible to themselves as well as others.
