I’m addicted to my stalker.

He watches me at night, sneaking in through my living room window and making my blood turn to ice. I feel him all around me as chills snake down my spine. Each night he becomes bolder, getting closer and welcoming himself into my bedroom, feeding his addiction.

When I feel the warmth of his skin brushing over mine, I pretend to sleep, terrified of what he plans to do with me. But when he touches me … my whole body comes alive.

I’ve never seen his face, and don’t even know his name, but I want to. Every part of me knows this is wrong, but I can’t bring myself to lock the window, to tell him no.

He thrills me, but living life on the edge doesn’t come without consequences.

He’s sick in the head, addicted to this infatuation, and obsessed with his messed-up mind games. But maybe I’m just as sick as he is because, whether I like it or not … I’m addicted to my stalker.

“Pretty Monster” by Sheridan Anne

-This book may check all the boxes on your dark romance wishlist. This book might fulfill any kinks you were curious to read about. I went into this story thinking I’d have a grand old time reading about a stalker and their victim having a super fucked up romance. Well…they did, but I can say with certainty that this is not the book for me. In fact, I would say this book taught me where my hard line is for dark romance: I don’t want to read about an MMC who murders women.

-Yes, you read that correctly, the MMC is a serial killer who stalks women, fucks them, then gets off on killing them. So in the prologue we meet Reid, and he just killed another victim. He goes on and on about how much it gets him off, how much he loves it, and who he has killed in the past. This should have been red flag number one, and a good indicator of my ability to read this story. I simply cannot buy into an MMC who flippantly murders women. They didn’t do anything wrong, aside from fulfill Reid’s fucked up purpose, and once they were of no use he disposed of them.

-Then we learn about Reid’s next victim, Kyah, who is a tattoo artist living in Brooklyn. But wait, she’s not like other girls! She’s not afraid to walk down the street at night, she doesn’t clutch her purse whenever she walks by strangers. She’s so stinkin’ attractive, literally every other male character mentioned in this book aside from ONE wants to fuck her. So…red flag number two, every guy is attracted to her. That’s boring, and completely unbelievable; it reads like a self-insert fanfiction I would have written as a fourteen year old.

-My last straw was when the MMC compared the euphoria of fucking Kyah for the first time like if he got an extra patty on his McDonald’s cheeseburger. At that point I was done, there was no way I could possibly lose myself in the story and root for the couple.

-I decided to skim the rest of the book to see what shenanigans Reid and Kyah get into, and I do have to give the author credit, she did a good job keeping the reader in suspense. Who is Reid? This is a multi POV book, there are Kyah, Reid, Viper, Crew, and Alex chapters. The reader has to work to figure out who Reid is, and once that’s revealed it’s like…idk, it’s fine I guess.

-Like I said, this book might be for you, but it definitely wasn’t for me. Please check the content warnings at the beginning of the book. Oh, and the ending is a nontraditional HEA. I don’t have a problem with those, but I know some people might find them irritating. Do with that what you will~

pizap-2 ❀ 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 ❀ Is a full length contemporary stalker romance book by author Sheridan Anne. Spoken in 'Multiple POV's.

So being in a book funk, picking up a few books then discarding them, I’d kind of lost hope, I had everything crossed that this would pull me out of it. And after one clicking I dived in with high hopes, I can gladly say that this took me on such a thrilling, suspenseful read that I couldn’t put it down!

Having men and a stalker wanting to claim her as theirs and theirs only had me glued to the pages, inhaling this wickedly hot inferno of a book, had me eating up everything this author threw at me. I didn’t want it to end.

Twenty three year old Kyah, has worked at 'High Voltage Ink' since she was taken in off the streets and taught everything she knows by the owner 'Big Jim.'

The stalker, He's always known something hasn't been quite right, that need to stalk, to chase, to kill, to find the next victim.

Crew & Victor, both these men want to claim her, one to make her his old lady, the other is watching and waiting until she's ready to settle down. Both overprotective, both fighting to claim her before the other.

Alex is the new man in town and he lives right across the hallway from Kyah, these two are profoundly attracted to each other as soon as they lock eyes, but she's made it clear she won't date neighbours or co workers.

I've read a few books similar to this one, stalker climbs in heroines window etc etc, but here's the thing with this one, this guy had some BIG ASSED BALLS on him!! He was like spiderman and Ninja rolled into one scaling her wall to climb through her window, even though he had a key to her front door!! *wait what* lol Yep!!

And like our heroine did, I also fell under the spell of her stalker, making me question fast tracking to therapy 😳😂😇🤣

But wait there's more, he's a cold blooded killer who knows no bounds when it comes to protecting *coughs* what's his..Yes his!! These other guys who claim she's theirs have nothing on this guy!!

And like our heroine, when it came to the stalker, I was kind of rooting for him, ok a whole lot!!

Psychological mind games and kinky fuckery!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤💚❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: 😔😃😤🥰

The heroine: Kyah - she works as a tattoo artist in a shop in Brooklyn, New York called High Voltage Ink. Her boss took her under his wing when she was in her late teens and plans of giving her the place when and if he ever retires. Kyah is wanted by a few of the handsome men she deals with including Crew, who works in the station next to her and Viper, the vice president of the Grim Reapers motorcycle club who wants to make her his old lady. Though she is interested, she knows it would never work out with either of them. Viper isn’t the type to stay faithful to just one woman and with Crew, it might get messy working together.

The Hero: Reid - he is a serial killer. He gets picks a woman each time, stalks her, getting to know everything about her, and toys with her before killing her, though he is getting a bit bored lately. Killing is his job and his obsession. He is very meticulous with his kills, cleaning them thoroughly before burying them, there is never any DNA, fingerprints or anything that can get him caught. He often buries them deep, covers them with soil and buries a dead animal over them in case the grave ever gets dug up.

The Story: Kyah becomes Reid’s latest obsession. He starts stalking her and learning everything about her. He thinks he is saving her from having a horrible life with any of the other men that want her. He has no compunction about following her, sneaking into her apartment to watch her sleep or even pleasuring himself while watching her.

I like stalker romance and love the psychopath who falls in love trope. Though I was very wary about this one from the start. First of all, I didn’t like the fact that he seems to kill random women. I don’t mind an assassin or even a Dexter like character who kills bad people. But I don’t really like a psycho who just kills women for the thrill of it. Then when he got off in her bedroom while she slept, that was another big red flag for me.

“It’s always been so straightforward. I find a woman, I learn about her, I fuck her a few times, mess with her head a little, and then finish it. It usually lasts no more than two weeks. But with Kyah, I’m five weeks in already. I’m taking my time, really making it count, and while the thought of dragging a blade across her throat excites me, it also chills me to the bone.
I’m not ready for this one to end, not yet.”

This was definitely a dark romance and there were times I really liked Reid and times I was a bit sickened by him. Especially how he didn’t care about the fact that he was always ejaculating and making mess whenever he got excited about something, whether it be killing or watching Kyah. It was just a bit gross in my book. Though I do like how protective he is over her, even though at times he terrifies her and gets off on it. He isn’t the only one in her life that is a danger to her. In a way, most of the men in her life are dangerous to her and that makes this book all the more twisted and interesting.

I found this book through TikTok, since it carries some tropes I enjoy: Dark romance, stalker romance, morally grey male interest, and “touch her and I’ll kill you” vibes.

Book starts off with the Reids POV, who is a woman serial killer. He enjoys stalking, using, scaring and then killing women. It gets his marbles going and he brings it up in literally all of his chapters.

The FMC, Kyah, was perhaps one of the most annoying characters in this book for me. She is the next girl in Reids radar, but she’s not like his other victims, she’s different, a tattoo artist, feisty. Besides her stalker (Reid) she has three other men trying to get in her pants. 1. Crew, a coworker who at first saw her as a little sister because she started working with him since she was 17, and now sees her as a woman since she is 23. 2. Viper, a biker gang member/client of Kyah who wants to make her his “old lady” and brings it up constantly. 3. Alex, Kyah’s new next door neighbor who likes walking around their apartment complex without a shirt and only grey sweatpants. He is very flirty with her, but notices that she has a lot of men after her and claims that he will not chase her but rather wait for her to make up her mind and come to him.

My issue is Kyah is very contradictory. She says she doesn’t want a relationship, that she’s not ready for that, that all she wants is mind blowing casual sex. Which there is nothing wrong with that but then she goes on to say that she is not a whore and not an “easy screw” that men can just use for sex. That she doesn’t want to be with someone who is going to go behind her back and screw someone else.

First guy she ends up having sex with is Crew, and he first seems to be pretty chill, talking about he’ll wait for her to be ready for a relationship that they can just have sex for a while and screw other people in the meantime but that he knows that they are end game. That turns out to be a load of crap. Because he gets pretty possessive and blows up her phone constantly talking about how she is his and belongs to only him.

She get annoyed with Crew and during a girls night out she bumps into Viper, who offers her a ride home. Once they get to her places she tries to make a move on him and he declines and leaves, which upsets her. Once in her apartment she texts Alex that she’s screwing herself and not thinking about him or will not say his name when she is done.

During all of this (mind you it’s within a span of maybe 4 days) Reid is there just watching everything go down. He’s stalking her and breaking into her house and tapping into her phone, just watching everything.

The morning after the night out, Alex goes to her apartment trying to take her out on a date. When they come back, Kyah’s door has been kicked down, and she immediately connects the dots back to Crew who she has been ignoring since he has been acting super possessive. She goes to confront him at the tattoo shop, and he ends up being a complete a-hole and punches her straight in the jaw after she tells him that they will never have sex again.

Here is where I couldn’t continue going. Reid sees this happening, and his blood is boiling, because how could anyone touch his precious Kyah. But what bothered me the most, was that Reid went on to talk about how horrible of a man Crew was because his family is involved in human trafficking and how he beats women behind closed doors.

I mean, Reid is a man that MURDERS women for fun, but Crew is the monster?

Reid then proceeds to kill Crew in the tattoo shop after Kyah leaves, and cums while he watches him die.

I really can’t keep going, I don’t know if it’s because to much is happening at once or because things are just to contradictory, or because the characters are annoying and lack depth. But I honestly wouldn’t recommend.

This just didn’t hit for me. The “not like other girls” when she clearly is, the men all having pretty much the same personality and way of speaking, the “pick me” energy.

I don’t think I’ve ever questioned myself as much as I did throughout this whole book! I have loved every single book Sheridan has ever written but Reid may just be my favorite psychopath! When someone asks me who did this to you my answer is now - Sheridan Anne!

If you like the dark depraved and overall amazing stalker hero this book is 1000% for you!!!

I gave up on this the first time I read it because it’s basically all smut, which is normally not an issue, but it was getting old at the time. I don’t love this book and it was pretty obvious where the author was going with it. This book just didn’t hit like I thought it would.

Sometimes when I read books like this I think about how anyone can be a writer. Make a completely worthless, air headed FMC that has a magical vagina that no one can resist. Mix this with an alpha hero who is a crazy stalker murderer and add in some asinine quotes about comparing sex to McDonald’s cheeseburgers and earth shattering insights like “good for the hole does not mean good for the soul” and bam you have this literary masterpiece.

I feel like this book was written around tropes instead of just a dark romance. It seems like the men are being portrayed as growly, OTP/ possessive, but honestly it was just cringey to me. I absolutely love dark romance, it’s my jam, but this just felt like the author was doing too much with these MMC’s.

There was also just a lot of hate towards the male population, and it honestly felt like I was reading from the POV of a scorned woman, but this was in a male stalkers POV.

That was a fun little book. The story is interesting, it’s a Dark Stalker Serial Killer romance.
This book has multiple POV’s and it’s basically porn, that’s how much smut it is in this book, but who’s complaining? Not me.
Khaya is a gorgeous sexy tattoo artist, she has many fans but 2 are really expecting more and they are working for. One is Crew, he is the sexy tattoo artist that works with her for 6 years now and they do have a lot sexual tension and some “playing”, but nothing ever truly evolved till the day it did.
The other guy is Viper and he is the vice president of a motorcycle club and he is also been waiting for her for 6 years. He is convinced she will be his old lady even if he needs to force her. But in reality he is very protective of her and does all in his power to “save” her for situations she doesn’t even know exist. The other guy is Alexander Reid and he is the insanely gorgeous and sexy stalker serial killer, the other guys are bad news and they are both criminals but none comes close to Alex, one by one he eliminates the extra man in her life and inserts himself in it.
The one thing that was weird to me is HOW much these men were willing to close their eyes towards her behavior because they wanted her in the end…. It’s some BS in there……
No shade to Khaya because she from the beginning makes it clear she isn’t the relationship type and she is very open with her sexuality. She doesn’t care, she goes after her pleasure and you know what? GOOD FOR HER. Overall was entertaining, not much plot but fun to read

Not the Best

Weirdly enough I can tell this book was written by a woman because the way the stalker character Reid down-talks his gender is very woman-like. Hate to say it. The writing was also repetitive at times. Reid kept saying he was a cold-blooded killer and kept saying how much k!lling gets him off, and after the third time I was just like "alright I get it already!"

I also thought this book was all over the place. Kyah says she's not a wh0r3 and wants to be treated like a queen but at the same time isn't ready for a commitment and wants to continue sleeping around. One of her love interests, Crew, says he wants her to do whatever makes her happy because he knows she's young and they'll be end game, and but then the following day, after having s3x, he begins to treat her like a possession and wants to know where she is at all times. Kyah says she doesn't eat where she sleeps, but sleeps with her coworker, tries to sleep with her client and sleeps with her neighbor, Alex. Speaking of Alex, she goes on ONE date with him and suddenly she's rethinking her no-commitment rule. Nothing anything anyone said in this book was consistent.

Also the suitors in this book were the absolute worst. They all felt like they had some sort of claim on Kyah and were overly possessive, overbearing, and dangerous in one way or another. Kyah saw the humongus bright red flags, but got off on their desire for her and kept them all in like this push-pull relationship which was so annoying to read. I really REALLY hate to say this, but she was the ultimate tease. She would then weirdly get shocked once their masks dropped and she discovered that they didn't have a problem hurting her to get what they wanted. I don't know why she was shocked because one guy legit said (warned) he would stop accepting her nos and she said "maybe I'll let you". 🤮 You can't tell me that doesn't sound a little r@p3y, or like foreshadowing. Basically, she would tell them all no, set boundaries, break her own rules, try to reset boundaries, the (crazy obsessed) men would ignore these new but old, already broken rules, and then she would get more attracted to them for being "dominant" with her. She had no clue what she wanted, therefore I as a reader had no clue what she wanted.

I felt like the author surrounded Kyah with awful men, who somehow all wanted her, just so we as readers would be more accepting of her ending up with a serial killer. And it worked. Everytime one of her suitors became a danger to her, she would make excuses for them or ignore the impending danger, so of course Reid had no choice but to get involved. She had no survival instincts which made her dumb in some ways. Kyah was made out to be some bad*s tattoo artist who could take care of herself when in fact she could NOT take care of herself. So, if you're looking for a strong heroine, you won't find one in this book. Overall, this book had an interesting concept and it wasn't necessarily terrible, because I did finish it. It just wasn't worth the effort of reading or getting excited about.

OH MY FREAKIN' GOD 🤯🥵

This book was everything I expected from Sheridan and SO MUCH MOREEEEE. I had guessed who was you know who but the reveal still shook me. I had so many questions!! I still do tbh. But ahhhh I wanna read this book over and over and over again. *chef's kisses*

Everything about this book was phenomenal. It had everything I look for in a dark romance. I do think it could've been more dark but that's just my black heart talking. This was such a perfect book, I adored it so much. Can't wait to get it a reread soon.

The spice, oh my God, the spice 🥵 Top f'ing notch!
Pleaseeeeeee can I get an extended epilogue? 🙈😅

Highly highly recommended to all dark stalker romance lovers.
YOU GOTTA ABSOLUTELY READ IT! 💯

☾⋆⁺₊🎧✩°。 0:32 ──♡───── 3:47 ☾⋆⁺₊🎧✩°。

🎶 Tell all of your friends that I’m crazy and drive you mad. That I’m such a stalker, a watcher, a psychopath 🎶

Kyah Renee Bailey (h) has had a tough upbringing but has made life worthwhile as she has worked her way up and is now one of the best tattoo artists. She has two men pining for her attention and, recently, a third – her neighbor. Oddly, strange things start happening, and she leans on the men for support; unknowingly, one of them is the cause of it all.

─── ・ 。゚☆: THOUGHTS*.☽ .*:☆゚. ───

Kyah had terrible luck with men, and I am not surprised she ended up with a serial killer who happened to be her stalker. This book had me thinking I was reading a reverse harem because she was interested in multiple people but didn't want to be in a committed relationship and just liked to flirt with all of them without settling down. She is just a girl living in her world, genuine. I knew what I was getting into when I started this book and the moral implications, but Alex is insane. The prologue didn't deter me from reading the book, so it wasn't a dealbreaker, but maybe it should have. He needs severe therapy and needs to be locked up.

He is unhinged, and the boy needs to be in an insane asylum for the sake of everyone's safety. There were also a bunch of inconsistencies with the book and the fact that he was on the run and had a warrant out for his arrest. What name did he use to get his apartment? He used his name at the tattoo parlor? What other training did this man have to be doing this? Either the authorities are not doing a good job, or this man has a high IQ.

[Crew]

Crew is the kind of man to treat me like a kid sister. He values my input and comes to me with his problems, but those few times where we’ve crossed that line, he treats me like a dirty little secret, and that’s never sat well with me.

He treated her like a younger sister, but as she got older he saw her differently. Well, is it because of puberty? All the men in her life were deeply disturbed and Crew was no exception. She considered him one of her closest friends and one of the men she valued the most and they had a weird relationship. For starters, they worked together and he was protective of her, when Viper was around and Kyah said that being with Crew was inevitable because she felt deeply for him. She genuinely cared about him and for this, I assumed (1) Reverse Harem (2) He is the stalker. It was none of those options. That man was just there to add to the plot and some romantic tension or competition for the stalker. Even so, how old was Crew? She met him at seventeen and he didn’t like her then, but as time went on he grew a liking to her until their bond escalated.

I was shocked when I told you that Crew had an entire personality change from one moment to the next. He went from being this protective person who cared for her to sleeping with her and becoming possessive. Then, he became physically abusive towards Kyah, and her stalker killed him for it. It all happened within a few chapters. What is crazy is that he was one of the closest people in her life and treated her like his own, but when she didn’t want to give in to being in a relationship with him, he switched up and became a different person. He became another person, whether it was because he knew his time was up, and his brother would collect the debt sooner or later, or he was always an asshole who just wanted to claim her. He was criticizing Viper for treating her like property the entire time, but when it came down to it, he did the same thing.

She knew him so well but didn't know he had a brother. How is that something that he was able to omit for so long if he was the main person in her life? Crew wasn't a random person. He was involved and saw her every day, and while they would have small flings, nothing came from it because they didn't want to ruin their dynamic, but then they did take thighs further, and then it changed. Crew was not the villain at first but was made out to be because the stalker was the main love interest. I am telling you that Kyah had genuine feelings for Crew and knew it would be him. She was deeply hurt when he was killed and didn't know how to act, mainly because she told him he was dead to her then he died. It was a very tragic ending for these two.

[Viper]

“I’m growing impatient,” he says. “When are you going to give up this hard-to-get act and become my old lady?”

“I’m twenty-three, Viper,” I remind him. “I’m not looking at being anyone’s old lady anytime soon. Besides, you and I both know that if I were to agree to this, I’d be property to you, not an equal.”

Kyah expressed interest in him, too, but she was just attracted to him and didn’t want to be with him. At first, this was fine with Viper, but then he saw her with Crew and Alex and became unreasonably jealous, so he would claim whether she wanted it. While he claimed he would never hurt her, it was noticeable that the man was losing his patience. He was her primary customer, too, and gave her a bunch of clients, so to him, it felt like she owed him for what he did for her. Men are weird and cannot do things without strings attached; there is always a contingency. Viper demanded her respect and almost choked her out (not in a smutty consensual way), and she backed off because she knew he meant business. Since he got out of hand and put his hands on her, the stalker did not like this and offed him too.

[Alex/Reid/Stalker]

“I underestimated you,” I say with a grin, a giddiness creeping through my veins. “But don’t worry, it won’t happen again.”

“Fuck, I should have run into you ages ago,” he says, a boyish grin pulling at his lips as he watches me out the corner of his eye, making my cheeks flush again. “What do you do, Mace?”

I didn’t quite understand Kyah’s instant fascination with Alex. I admit, the first interaction was full of teasing banter, but she had just been with Crew, who she liked, and was flirting with Viper. This was a third love interest that she wanted to add on because she wanted to keep her options open. Yet, out of all of them, she felt deeply connected to Alex for some reason. He was persistent and didn’t take no for an answer, which should’ve been her first warning sign. He was also her neighbor and closest proximity to her, and he had access to her apartment because he made a copy of her key and randomly showed up at her workplace, where she never told him she worked. Now, she still doesn’t realize that Alex is her stalker. Kyah is just as twisted, though. She likes the fact that someone is lurking in the shadows and watching her. She craves excitement and likes someone's interest in her, so she welcomes him and even begins to leave the window open and put on a show. It becomes so twisted that she becomes paranoid and thinks her stalker is in the building, but it’s just her mind, and when she goes to Alex for help, he genuinely runs out because he is worried someone else is messing with the object of HIS fascination.

“That’s just the thing, Mace. Everything that I threw at you, you were more than ready for. You just didn’t know it,” he says. “Running through the park last night, it was the fear that got you off, not me. Before I’d even touched you, you were already soaking wet, but…

When he finds out that she knows he is the stalker, he loves it. He treats it like a game, and he kidnaps her until she realizes that she doesn’t have many options. This man is insane, but the stalking should have been the hint. In most stalker romances, the MMC is solely fascinated with the FMC and would never hurt her because he cares about her that much and has a warped sense of love. What’s crazy is that Alex is a stalker AND a serial killer and genuinely enjoys hurting women and men and gets sexual gratification from it, a discovery . Now, this is alarming because he isn’t a vigilante with a warped sense of justice; this man is just psychotic. Now Kyah knows all of this and is scared, but she has a fear kink, so they just fuck the angst out. Both of them are insane and deserve each other. Alex isn’t likable because he genuinely enjoys murdering people for fun and loves to torment the objects of his fascination psychologically. What’s to say he won’t get bored and kill her because he wants something new? He WANTED to kill her; that was the original plan. However, he saw that Kyah was slightly unhinged like him and felt intrigued and like someone could handle him. Romantic *note the sarcasm*. It’s how he is a literal killer but Kyah draws the line at knife play and he’s afraid of needles.

“Absolutely, I did,” he tells me in that thick, rich tone, his body tensing beneath my hands. “When I first saw you, I knew immediately that you would be my next victim. I dropped everything I was doing and followed you. I had to know everything about you, and over the next few weeks, I learned everything there was to know about Kyah Bailey. The more I learned and the closer I got, the…

Alex was strategic with becoming her next door neighbor befriending her and making her trust him. How did he even pick her? When did he find the time to select her and strategically move next to her? I won’t question him because he was that insane and had some underlying issues that go beyond the book. I think I need a book on his life story to understand his brain and his abnormal actions he thinks are completely normal. He sees no wrong in his actions and thinks he is better than most men because at least he never claimed to be a good person. OKAY.

The romance wasn't enough to keep me involved, but the aspect of the stalker watching her from the shadows was interesting. I didn't think that Alex would be redeemable, nor am I rooting for the romance between Kyah and Alex , but I can still think the book was interesting without agreeing with what happened in it. It was chaotic and messy. It could have been executed without Crew or Viper and had a focus on Alex because I couldn't even care about him. All of them were terrible and corrupt, and the stalking wasn't the worst of it. Also, this is a stalker romance, but she didn't know she had one till the book was almost over, and it felt like a forced side plot instead of the focus.

I was actually made to complete this book, when really I wanted to DNF it right after my suspicions on who the killer is, were confirmed.. but hubby had his way, so I completed it with him..

Now, EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE in this book was annoying and stupid AF..

The FMC-Kyah was the worst. I could not get behind her brand of indecisive stupidity when it came to most of her trivial dilemmas that she has with these chemically imbalanced males, that seem to find her oh so irresistible. #GagMe..

There was nothing endearing or cute or even sexy about Kyah. The things she did, thought and said just did not jive with me at all, considering the level of serious sh^t she found herself in. Not to mention she does make ALOT of obvious stupid choices too, for the sake of moving this awful plot along. To the point of absolute ridiculousness.

Alex, Crew, and Viper- NONE of these men gave me vibes of that dark, mysterious thing you'd expect males like them to have. Clearly the author was trying to convey this but she completely missed the mark with me on that. Alex was the only one that was hot and easy on the eyes but even he, considering WHO he is, still wasn't a deep or intriguing character IMO..

To list this as a Dark Romance is an insult to dark romance writers and readers alike.

And that ending? Are you kidding me?! These two nuts totally deserve each other.

I gave this one 2 stars instead of 1 because there was one scene out of this entire book that I thought was hot-Tattoo chair, Alex and Kyah.. This happens around the 70% mark of the book, BTW.

P.S. If you really want to laugh at how ticked this book made me, read over my reading progress below this review.

I was in the mood for a dark stalker romance and heard a lot of good things about this one, so I decided to download it on KU and see what all the fuss was about. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. The MMC is a serial killer which seems like it would be fun to read about but the way he was written was overly feminine. He didn’t strike me as a stone-cold killer with no morals, just a man a woman was trying unsuccessfully to write about. Secondly, I couldn’t stand the FMC. After it being drilled into our heads that she’s a strong independent woman one would come to think that she actually was. However, every single thing she does in the book points the other way. I feel like the author wanted us to just take her word for it without actually showing it to us. Finally, I guessed who Reid was within the first 10 percent of the book. The author just made it SO obvious that I rolled my eyes and almost DNFed it on the spot. But I powered through because I wanted something darker. Now I wish I just stopped reading because despite some good smut there’s not much else redeemable about it.

OMG, this story was something else! Told from multiple POVs, this is an exciting, suspenseful, "keep-you-on-your-toes", thought provoking, page-turning, ignore-everything-else-in-your-life, kind of read! Just when you think you've figured it all out, bam! Everything you thought you knew.... right out the window! This book had everything... it's dark... it's funny... it will make you swoon... make you scared to be alone... definitely a must read!

This follows Kyah who at the age of 17 lost her way and came from a difficult family life. She was found outside a tattoo parlour High Voltage Ink with nowhere to go and the owner Big Jim gave her a job to start her on a new path. Over the years her co-worker, head of a motorcycle club and new neighbour obsesses over her but she also has the threat of a potential stalker.

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE WRONG MAN.
Don’t get me wrong I love this book and recommend it if you want something where men pine over her, lives are taken and the spice is delicious.
The MMC was so unhinged he gave me whiplash. One minute I want him the next he is a walking red flag, making me question my morals and that should 100% be in jail. The FMC is strong for the most part but I found her a little weak at times. The monster toy I was here for. It was a great laugh and a good time. Lastly, I wish there was more out of the Viper and Mason storyline. I wanted more of a fight maybe to throw the threat off a little bit. Just needed a little more plot as a personal preference. Also Justice for Viper I'm gutted.

If you enjoy reads that are dark, twisted and a little insane, this is the book for you. ALL of the characters were at least a little mentally twisted (one a WHOLE LOT MORE than the others!), but it was a lot of fun reading about them.
As we learn from the first chapter, one of these characters is actually a serial killer, BUT through most of the book, we're not absolutely sure which one he is. When I got my first concrete clue, I was losing my mind, as I was lining up the two men together in my head that we've been reading the POV's of.....
I don't want to say anything else, as I hate to give spoilers away.
If you have a twisted little mind as I do, I think you will enjoy this story.😉🥵🤭

This is a fucked up story.
It amused me to no end.

I could not help thinking though, that I could have done the Killer's job with much more flair and purpose.
