Rate this book
Kid's bedtime story book about Claire the daughter of Max Maximillion the French business zillionare. What is it like to be the only daughter of a zillionare? They were not able to live normal lives. They were always followed by the press and the public. They escaped to travel for a few days vacation on Max's ship where Claire met Charlie. Everyone thought Claire was too famous to play with a kid like Charlie (a commoner), but together they had a great time. Still others made a big deal of them until Max also got worried his daughter might grow up to marry Charlie. In the end, nothing happened and Claire was able to convenience her father it was silly to worry about things in the future that had not happened. When the others left them alone and the journey on the ship ended, life was a little better for Max and Claire. They had both learned a lesson to not worry about what others think or things in the long distant future.

good rhymes in this one, and also a subversive message about how wealthy people suck. (1994 signed copy with a personalized message from the author, who is a friend of my grandparents 😄)

Loved this book when I was small and I recently rediscovered it in a box of my books from my parents' house! I love Sorel's illustration style and the rhymes are really fun. I definitely can see specific words entering my vocabulary via this book.

I really love the illustrations in The Zillionaire's Daughter. The rhyming story is fun too, but some of the rhymes don't really work.
