This is a comic book about a super hero who goes back in time and discovers information about plate tectonics. He learns about tsunamis, earthquakes, and erupting volcanoes. The books explains what is in the center of the Earth and other facts like why the Earth moves.
I like the way this book is written. It is full of facts and important information, but it is written in the form of a comic book that will appeal to some readers that don’t like other nonfiction books. It contains a lot of information, but it is not hard to read or understand. The super hero is a good fit, too.
I would use this book in any Earth Science unit. It explains many happenings that kids hear about on the news or read about online every day. I would also add it to a reading center. There would be kids who would be drawn to it because it is a comic book and end up learning things.

I am definitely not good at Science...or math..... and I presume I am not alone in that category This book is refreshing and makes things a lot more understandable for people like me. It would be a welcome addition to a classroom or library and I am sure that class of "I don't get it "(like me), would happily pick up a kid-friendly version of a science lesson and enjoy the experience of being taught through a fun, comic-book format. If you even said to me what do you think about plate tectonics, I would stare blankly at you and reach for my iPad to Google the term immediately and then get back to you.

This book is interesting and informative and presented in full-colour for your child's viewing pleasure. Who doesn't love super heroes and the incredible feats that they can perform? Geo is a school-age kid with a robot dog named Rocky. The two of them time travel and their adventures teach them about the formation of the continents through drifting tectonic plates. The timeline goes from 200 million years ago to the present time. In the beginning the plates were fused together and formed a humungous land mass dubbed "Pangea". As time marched on this land mass broke into the seven continents that we know of today. An interesting fact is that these plates continue to move ever slowly, "at just about the speed fingernails grow."

Other great things that kids will learn is the cause of earthquakes, the make-up of the Earth's centre, and the formation of islands out of volcano eruptions. Sometimes stuffy textbooks seem boring to kids so this perfect, action-packed book can be used as a back-up should that problem appear. This comic has been billed as "an amazing, Earth-shattering adventure!' and they were right on the money. Kids will be scrambling to be first in line to swap their boring encyclopedia or text book for this lively substitute and be reluctant to pass it on when they are finished.

This slim graphic novel is both an adventure story and an informative text about plate tectonics. The main character, Geo, is studying up for a test at school. To help him remember the subject matter he imagines himself as a kind of superhero who is experiencing all the material first-hand. I think this format will help young students, particularly reluctant readers.

The graphic novel format of this book will make it appealing to many readers even though it is educational. The real world connections to scientific principles makes it easier for readers to understand. With that being said, I just didn't get into the plot as much as I had hoped. Additional information for further study can be found in the bunch of fact pages following the brief story.

This is a great book that presents geology in an interesting and fun format. Not only is it great for science-lovers but it also helps people who struggle with science learn (and retain) the information.

I cannot wait for the next in the series!

An interesting format for an educational book. It aligns really well with the geology curriculum my son is currently studying at school. Maybe the comic format will help him remember the vocabulary.

I like the fact that there is a comic book about plate tectonics, and I hope that there are more volumes in the future.
