Moving to the country by Reeve Lindbergh Story of how those born and raised in the country couldn't wait to go to the city. Those raised in the city treasured their time in the country. Birthing so many and then a miscarriage is about all she can take and he's so busy at work and about to lose his job due to a technicality... I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
To be fair, a 16 year old might give this book a 5. The writing was ok but the story did not interest me, nor did any of the characters.. I have no interest in what goes on in kids minds. Too much into every ones emotions. who cares? not me
This is a good book, it's not just the celebrity of the author (Charles Lindbergh's daughter) that got it published.
It must have felt quite au courant when it was published in 1983. Now the style feels somewhat dated and the issues discussed are still interesting, but strongly linked to that time. It's become, through the years, a period piece.
The writing is still quite beautiful though, especially in its attention to nature.
