Michael went to college in upstate NY at the State University of New York, Albany (a.k.a. SUNY Albany), and he graduated with a degree in Psychology and English. He's had many jobs: a pizzeria dishwasher, a supermarket checkout boy, and spraying cologne in a department store (he got fired on his first night). He's worked making smoothies, selling retail clothing, and he washed enormous party tents for one day. He's worked for a software company, and temped at various jobs in the movie/ TV industry, including an assistant for Tom Hanks for a few months. He's tutored for the SATs (verbal) and has been a script/ book reader for various movie and television companies, including Dreamworks/ Dreamworks Animation, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network. Some of his friends describe it as getting paid to write book reports; they're not entirely wrong. But he's happy - he loves to read, and he's making money doing it.

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series, it was with high expectations that I began reading this third book in the Simon Bloom series. Unfortunately, by the time I had finished I felt a bit of a let down. I think that this came, primarily as a result of the seemingly long, drawn out, and confusing explanation that Simon makes to explain the three laws of thermodynamics. Not being a student of science I don't know of any other way that this could have been done, and I have to assume, that the author did the best he possibly could have to explain this to the unlearned. Unfortunately for me it was still too confusing. I almost wonder if it would have been better to just state what the three laws are without trying to go into detail trying to explain how and why they work. Outside of this I found the story to be quite enjoyable. Although I was surprised by it, I like the way that the conflict with Sirabetta concludes. All in all, I must say, well done Michael Reisman and thank you for such an enjoyable series. This is one I quite often recommend to my readers who think that they just don't like Science Fiction. Often, it causes them to change their minds.

Amazing

I had read the first 2 books and wanted to see how it all ended. Some other series’s with 3 books, and the third was terrible compared to the 1st. This book blew me away. It was one of the best books I’ve ever read, and I’m so glad I read it.

Great Book

I especially liked how it was silly but serious at the same time. Simon Bloom has taken me through one hell of a ride, but I’m glad that the books I found interesting as a child remain interesting now that I’m older.

I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first two, though I liked the ending and how Reisman wrapped up the series. There was actually too much action in this one -- this is probably a big selling point to his actual target audience (and I didn't hear my 9-year-old complain about it), but the actual plot really boils down to 1) "Let's go find that guy" and 2) "Oh, no, now we've got to go stop them over there!" It only takes the whole book because there's two battles before step 1, there's around 5 separate battles when they hit step 1, there's two battles between 1 and 2, and then the giant, multi-phase battle at step 2. Also, the science was not explained as well in this one as in earlier books, which was really one of the most unique features of these books.

Cameron and I loved the first two books in the Simon Bloom series, so we were excited when we saw that the third book was finally available. We read this one together. I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous ones, I think in part because there was such a big gap in their release dates that it was hard to follow. I had a hard time remembering specifics about characters that likely would have been relevant to the plot of "The Order of Chaos." I wish we had listened to the first two books on CD as a refresher before starting the third book.

This was a wonderful book. I loved every bit of it. This may have been the book that started my love for Scfi. I cannot decide what was better, the way it taught me about the sciences in an entertaining way, or the interesting narration technique used by the author to help let the readers get to know the main characters better.Overall I think this is an amazing series and I definitely recommend reading it.

Fabulous series, it needs more attention. This book wasn't quite as good as the first two, there was probably too much science explanation but there was plenty of action, fun and comraderie. Alysha was a bit too stereotypical but everyone else was very three dimensional. The story is somewhat young adult, happy ending, not too many deep issues but again, absolutely perfect for my 11 year old.

I got this book, and couldn't put it down! So great! Physics (Science) meets HP (I'm a potterhead, get over it), with a tinge of evil bureaucracy. Plus Mr. Reisman is really cool, and this book was totally worth it!

The order of chaos

This book was wonderful, and had multiple interesting twists. However, I hope that there is another series or book to tie up loose ends and to continue with these interesting characters.

A decent end to the series, although a little touchy feely and "everything's going to work out in the end"

I thought that the book was an interesting end to the Simon Bloom series. It also left a lot of questions unanswered implying that there may be more books.
