Good conclusion to the series. It all started when Angie's father, JD Lassiter, had a heart attack and died the day before Angie and Evan were supposed to get married. Angie and Evan worked together for the family company, Lassiter Media, where Angie has been giving it her all to show her father that she deserves to be the next CEO. When the will is read, she is devastated to learn the JD has left leadership of the company to Evan. She is sure that Evan worked behind her back to steal the company from her, so she breaks their engagement and spends the next five books trying to overturn the will and get her company back. At the end of the last book, JD's machinations are revealed and Angie is back in. But her future with Evan is gone.

Evan has left Lassiter Media, of course, and is restarting his own business, trying to make a clean break. But when his friends, Matt and Kayla (Beauty and the Best Man) need his help with getting their wedding set up, he has to work closely with Kayla's maid of honor, Angie. Not just work together, but pretend that they are getting back together. Evan is still hurt and angry over the way Angie treated him, and her lack of trust after the reading of the will. He'll fake the reunion, but trusting her with his heart again is something he doesn't want to risk.

Angie isn't happy about having to work with Evan either. She is also still dealing with the feelings of betrayal she felt over the details of the will. But now that it's all over, she also has a few twinges of guilt over the way she treated Evan. Faking a reunion with Evan is also showing her that what she felt for him isn't dead after all.

I really enjoyed seeing Evan and Angie together. The chemistry between them is still hot, and the love they felt for each other is still there, but the hurt feelings and broken trust are going to take some work to repair. Neither of them is really willing to risk their hearts again. I liked the way that they were willing to put their animosity aside to make their friends' wedding happen. They thought that they could get away with their pretense just with the wedding venue owner, but he called their bluff and soon they had to make it public. Evan accepted his feelings much more quickly than Angie did, and started to use their deception to turn it real. The only issue is that Lassiter Media is still coming between them. Evan sees that she is having problems and wants to help her, but she won't accept it.

Angie really fights her feelings. They are strong and real, but she can't forget what happened with the business. It takes some time, but she and Evan start talking and spending real time together. She wants to believe they have a chance, but the company keeps getting in the way. Angie is very stubborn and tends to get very focused when something is going on. She starts to slip back into old habits when a crisis with some of her leadership happens and shuts Evan out. When he calls her on it, pride takes over on both of them and harsh words are exchanged. She has to decide if her pride is worth losing the man she loves all over again. I loved the scene in the sports bar when she made her move.

There were some really fun parts in the book. I loved seeing Evan push some of Angie's buttons and get her really stirred up. I had a great time seeing the relationship develop between Evan's playboy friend Deke and Angie's friend Tiffany. She really made him work for it. Seeing Angie finally come into her own and face down her three VPs had me really grinning. The epilogue was fantastic.

was a good book but it made me a little frustrated with how they kept pushing each other away & not opening up & talking the truth of their feelings & just guessing how the other felt. I did enjoy Angelica's fight for her company against the stuffy VP's. I also thought the part when they were helping fight against the flood, I thought it would move them together faster, but!!! For a long part of this book I actually kept thinking they aren't going to end up together at the end. This series was well written & I enjoyed it a lot. I would like to know what happened between Deke & Tiffany, I wonder if there will be a book about them. It would be nice.

I like a good reunion story, but I feel like Angie and Evan had gone too far down a path to really forgive, forget, and move on. A little more hashing out what happened to them would have been better, but really I read how many books to find out the secret of the will and it's a shame JD died because I would have liked the characters to be able to give him grief for what he did. Overall, not satisfied with the ending of this series and really didn't believe in the HEA.

I did enjoy it, but I thought Evan deserved a proper apology from Angelica and he never really got it so although I was happy with their HEA I wasn't completely satisfied...

Loved this story. Both Evan and Angie were too hurt and stubborn for their own good. Thank goodness they realized it before they were lost to each other forever.
Best book in the series. Good way to end the series.
JD did know what he was doing in the end. He lived his family and did know his children better than they knew each other.
Trust is so important. If people talked and trusted that those who loved them would understand, life would prevent a lot of sorrow and broken hearts.
Honest truly is the best policy.

These kinds of books make me want the throw up. If you like them i apologize but they're just so awful. This book reminded me a lot of the movie The Proposal, staging a fake wedding but in the end actually falling in love and having a real wedding with real feelings. This story takes place in Santa Monica California and the main characters are Evan McCain and Angelica Lassiter. Angelica's family owns a big media company but in her fathers will he states that she will be on top and fires her ex fiancé as CEO. They then must pretend to be a couple to make their friends wedding work. Evan soon begins to like this idea and the kisses aren't fake anymore. The real question is can he keep it together and trust her enough again for her to become is bride?

These books are dumb. I don't enjoy the idea of reading soft porn every 5 pages in a book. It's okay you want to have sex but i don't need to know every single detail about you "making love", I don't care, I just don't. The general story line was okay but very redundant The ending is very for seeable based on the title. Very uncreative and annoying. HUGE SPOILER IN THE TITLE!

I never would have dreamed of reading this book on my own. Reading it was such a struggle and very boring. I would never read anything like this again. The end of the book really killed me. I saw it coming from a million miles away. OBVIOUSLY YOU'RE IN LOVE AND GOING TO GET MARRIED. no secrets there. This book makes total sense of the sappy stereotype of a fake love story.

Evan McCain and Angelica Lassiter were engaged when her father's will left Evan in charge of the media empire. Then it was discovered in some manner revealed in another book in the series that Angelica actually was meant to run the businesses. The engagement was broken and hard feelings ensue. Now their best friends are getting married and Evan and Angelica pretend to become engaged again so as not to mar their friends' wedding. Lame storyline plus Evan is way too ready to tell Angelica how to run the business even when his opinion was not requested. Angelica just says "I'm sorry, you were right." Not very realistic.

"Great character development combined with the right amount of emotional conflict make this story a stand out. Loads of passion, interesting secondary characters and a dramatic flood scene make this reunion worth the wait" (RT Book Reviews, 4 1/2 stars).

Solid writing for the genre. Fun to read. Loved the use of different settings and a community disaster to make the characters real.

The story was good as far as reunions go. I've read all the Lassiter books and I never quite liked Angelica. she was spoiled and whiny. This story made poor Evan look like a weiner!

One of the better efforts of the continuity, i would have given it 4 stars however Angie just annoyed me too much and was too immature for my tastes.
