Secret Copenhagen

A riding school in a former airship hangar, giant whale bones in a parking lot, a bunker under a school, an elevator that never stops, a vast network of tunnels in the bowels of a hospital, superb secret museums, little-known architectural wonders, hidden gardens ...   Away from the crowds and the clichés, Copenhagen reserves its well-hidden treasures for those who venture off the beaten track, whether residents or visitors. An indispensable guide for those who thought they knew the city well or would like to explore its other face.

surprisingly excellent, would recommend! not usually a fan of guidebooks except as a sort of functional tool, but this one is fantastic! it's totally weird! It's just full of ridiculously trivial things like "this one building has a cool doorknob" and "in the back of this bank there's a mural; you can't actually go see it." I didn't actually manage to go see anything out of it but I really enjoyed reading it on my way there and am happy I took this to Copenhagen with me. Now it's overdue and the library wants it back, oops.

A printed book in the vein of Atlas Obscura, Secret Copenhagen commits to paper a lot of unusual things in the city that it might take you years to discover. It would take you years to find all of the things in here, but it's useful, with enough backstory to give you a feeling for why these places are important.
