Praldia

Avalonian's love for life.
At fourteen, Princess Zira Sallee's family was massacred by the barbarian who now rules her planet. For the last nine years, Zira has hidden with her kin in Praldia, enjoying the Cyran and Praldian ways of life. But her parents were just executed for high treason, and now it is Zira's turn to go before Prince Luther Saboa, heir to Cyra and the ruler of Praldia.
Expecting to be killed like her parents, Zira is surprised to learn that is not her fate. When Zira's parents were executed, Zira, having not reached wisdom yet, instantly became the property of the throne, along with the rest of her family's land and belongings.
Cyran Elite Soldiers train for years to control their inner chaos, but Luther's desires have been in the making for a long time, and now that they are within his grasp, he won't let them go. As Zira's official state guardian, Luther means to take full control of the exiled Avalonian princess, even if it takes him to war.

I did like the story quite a lot, but I have one huge issue with it.

I hate third parties involved in the couple's relationship. I'm fine with reverse harem if the people stay faithful to each other. Luther loved and wanted Zira for years and yet he had many lovers and many pregnancy scares. He didn't know if Zira will sleep with him, so he chose to have another lover on the side just in case.

He was planning to get another mistress when Zira got pregnant, but he found out that Zira craves sex during her pregnancy so he didn't do it. So, now he's planning to get the mistress after Zira gives birth and will be recovering and busy looking after their child. What a great guy.

He's even encouraging her to get a lover for herself. He knows she's in love with one of her guards and he doesn't mind. Luther refused to remove him from his position even when Zira asked. He keeps telling her to go for it.

I don't believe in his love. He did so much to make her his companion and yet he can't imagine not having sex for a while. It's not like his dick would fall off. It's stated that members of his elite guard had to live in celibacy for 5 years and this dude can't go without sex even if it's for the love of his life.

It's such a shame. I really enjoyed this story, it's well written and pretty unique, but this ruins it for me.

Intriguing. The world building is interesting and the characters are well done.

Zira is a princess and the womb of her next king. Hiding on another planet, her parents are killed for treason. Prince Saboa marries her, to protect her and have her for himself, not fully knowing much about her.

Assassins come, and their lives are threatened. Stopping the barbarian is the only way. But there are secrets and secrets can cost lives.

A fun read.

So good!

I read this in one sitting. Quite a love story with suspense, betrayal. A young daughter of traitors is given a chance. She is a strong lead with a mind of her own. I loved it.
