There is no good place to start reading Wolfgang Giegerich, but I am tempted to say this is the best place to start. Everything Giegerich has written seems to hinge on the concept of dialectic, the negation of the negation, absolute negative interiorization, as analogues to Jung's perspective on psychology as soul, via alchemical metaphors. All the "pushing off," the "going under," the "fermenting corruption," and so on, is well accounted for. This book makes the concept (and its usefulness for depth psychology) relatively plain and clear.
