I like reading happy books. When I started this book I was going to set it aside. Then I said to myself “be tough and continue to read”, the charter was a real life scenario. So… I read the second chapter, just as sad as the first, then the third. I lost tract after that, I was so engrossed in the storyline I couldn’t put the book (kindle) down. The different emotions I went through only a good writer can convey. Ms. James did an excellent job. I unconditionally recommend this book, great characters and story. Connie

This is such a heartfelt story. Kristen James really pulls you into Lance and Sierra's lives and gets you rooting for them right away. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. I have enjoyed each of the books I've read by this author, and I look forward to reading more by her. I highly recommend this beautiful story.

I really liked this book.. it was written well to where you fell in love with both of them.. I am so bad at writing a review.. never know what to say so that you will know how much I loved it so that you would want to read it also.. but its a really good book and wish there was more to it I was not ready to give it up yet.. I wanted it to go to where they marry..but then I always do..lol

I think I gave five stars for this just because of the subject matter - namely, our military men and women who come home to us in pieces...mentally as well as physically. The story was good - with lots of sorrow, and joy. I really am glad I read this and know it is worth passing on to others.

I'm not sure if this rating will stay, I might bring it down to a 2 star. I thought the story was okay, but predictable. The ending left a lot unsaid, which is something I really dislike. Glad this was a Kindle freebie.

I loved this book. It was very emotional and discusses the difficult topic of PTSD in the military at current times. the love story is very predictable but still adorable.

I feel cheated I hate endings like that. The story was great up until the last 2 chapters. I was definitely feeling Lance and Sierra's story. It had an instant love feel but the way the author wrote the story it didn't feel rushed at all. The reason that I'm so upset is I felt like I was left in the wind. There is a small suspense plot thrown in towards the end that just didn't work out. And we never find out did they get married? Did they have kids if the did get married? Did she ever have a run in with Zack? It wasn't a bad story not in the least I just wasn't happy with the ending. Maybe one day we get a novella and outtake from this couple.

Heart-warming

This was such a wonderful read. It made me gasp and want to tear up at points. It was awesome to be able to see into each character's thoughts. Seeing the pain from the marine himself and how he dealt with situations and guilt versus an ordinary person dealing with grief and guilt. Both were made for each other and although they had rough bumps in the road, they were able to overcome them and lean on each other for support and healing.
