I was able to finish the entire book in thirty minutes! There was no direction or a certain focus on the so-called facts this book was trying to offer. There are a lot of information errors that I kept having to add notes where I would be correcting the author. There were some statements that were not cited and were simply assumptions, such as "Rose is one of the most popular companion." Based on what? Where there any specific study conducted to determine this?
The "facts" were not even remotely interesting. When it comes to the facts on the characters, this book basically tell you what happened in the TV series. Go watch the show rather than read this book.
This body of work was clearly a work of no passion and thrown together in hope of making some bucks. Luckily, I downloaded this book for free. There are many other factual books on the TV show that are intelligent, well researched and done with the labor of love that deserve attention and our money, such as Telos Publishing and Mad Norwegian Press. Don't buy this rubbish!
Most of this reads like it was copy and pasted from websites. There are a few spelling errors, but that isn't even the worst of it. This would probably be a good fact book for someone who has no interest in watching the show, but knows a lot of fans. Other than that, I couldn't recommend it to someone who has watched Doctor Who. I question how much of a fan the author is, since some of the "facts" seem to ignore the actual characters and their personalities.
I'm very glad I got this free because it was quite a let down. I was hoping for facts I couldn't just learn from a Google search.
I love anything to do with Doctor Who, but this short "book" took less than an hour to read and is just a list of things anyone with even a tiny level of interest in the show would already know. There are also some inaccuracies in it so it can't be relied on for the real facts. I got it for free otherwise I'd have been very cross to have paid for something so short and shoddy.
Would be okay for someone who really isn't familiar with the show....but be warned- some of the "facts" in this book are not right. Also, the author got some names wrong. He should have done some better research.
