4 - He was the master of my torture and my ecstasy. Stars!
Part Two of the Fix You series, pretty much picks up where part one left off, Bash is in all-sorts of trouble, and getting out of it unscathed and without a criminal record is looking highly unlikely. Add to that the fact that he hasn’t seen or heard from Olivia since his arrest, and he is not in the best place.
I couldn’t seem to remember a time when she didn’t have me, it was like my cells were filled with her, and the harder I tried to purge her from my life, the more I craved her.
There is always a risk that a middle book in a series is going to feel like a filler, the beginning always sets the scene, and the end is usually where everything is rounded out and wrapped up. So the middle can at times just be a coaster book, that doesn't really add much in the way of storyline. There isn’t a major amount of progression in Bash and Olivia’s story in part 2, but pretty much the whole novella is just about the two of them together. I liked that though, as there was opportunity for the exploration and further development of their relationship on an emotional and physical level.
”Forget about what you think everyone else needs, and take what you need for once, Bash.”
Matty (Bash’s older brother) ends up going to extreme measures in his attempts to raise the cash to help Bash with his legal situation. The deal turns sour, which prompts a late night visit to the brothers gym whilst Olivia is there on her own, by a couple of the local Crime-Lords thugs, and a few less than idle threats being made, while a baseball bat is being swung around. The novella ends with Bash, on the cusp of making another decision that will possibly crush fragile foundations of the relationship that he and Olivia have started to build together, as well as possibly putting him even further away from the escape from his current life that he craves.
The McDaniels boys might not be good for much, but we were good at a few thing. Fucking. Fighting and fronting.
You need to read book 1, to understand what is happening in this instalment of Bash & Olivia’s story. I will certainly be looking too read the conclusion as soon as I possibly can. I love Christine Bell’s writing, but I still don't know if I will ever grow to love the ‘serialised novella’ trend that is around at the moment. I am an impatient bunny, and waiting patiently is never something I do well! Luckily I have part 3 already on the Kindle.
ARC provided via Netgalley in exchange for the above honest review.
This one picks up where part one left off. Bash continues to be awesome and Liv, recovered from her bout of stupidity at the beginning of the first book, manages her way onto my "heroines I love" shelf--which, I'm going to be honest, is a lonely shelf, because I'm really picky about my heroines. But she continued to be amusing and loyal to Bash and just generally awesome, so there it is.
We got a bit more about Matty in this one, in preparation of Matty's books! (Squee!)
Once more, Bell's writing is fluid and lovely. There were a couple of mistakes (a missing word, an instance of mixed up word order) in my copy, but it was an ARC from Netgalley, so I assume those were straightened out in the published version.
This is just such a great series (with humorous, realistic characters!), and I totally started it on a whim. So glad I did. :) If you haven't yet, the first one is free! Just, if Liv irks you in like the first I wanna say 30% of that book, don't stop reading! Push through, she recovers and realizes her stupidity and then she's good. :)

The first book ended with Bash being arrested for hitting Olivia's Ex Andy. And it happened at the worst time too - he was in the middle of training for his first big fight as a boxer.
Now Olivia and Bash's Brother Matty are doing everything they can to get the Bail and Lawyer money to help get him out of jail.
Bash doesn't know if he should keep seeing Olivia - she would be too much of a distraction for him and his upcoming professional life - but more important it's not good for her - he's not good enough for her.
But Olivia doesn't let herself be pushed away so easily ☺
We have lots of sexy scenes
and moving and sad and suspensy scenes - BUT.....
WILL THE TWO OF THEM GET THEIR HEA???
I'm not telling you that of course!! GO READ IT!☺ ....but since this was only the 2nd book in the series - we probably won't find out yet... ______________________________
I LOVED THE STORY!!!!!
It was way too short again - REALLY short.... :( But it was a cute and sexy and suspensy little novella and I'm really looking forward to find out how they will hopefully manage to get their Happy Ever After in book #3☺
Bash is such a nice guy - he only wants what's best for everybody - but Olivia and Bash's Brother Matty only want that too - so they all do things that the others might not agree with - it's interesting to see how they all try to do the right thing and I really hope that nothing bad will happen and we'll have our HEA in the next book!!!!
IT REALLY WAS A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE ROMANCE!!
unfortunately we have one of those Cliffhangers again.....grrrrrr Bash!
BUT - we won't have to wait long!!!
Books 3 will be out in May ☺
and now PLEASE HURRY - I need to read the next books ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! This serial series is MAJORLY addicting! I just can't get enough!!! Here I just finished Part 2, and I am dying to get Part 3 of Bash and Olivia's story in my hands. When I came to the last page, I was like, "No!!!" I was so sad that it had ended. Bash and Olivia's story is intense! I don't mean intense in the sense of being overly dramatic or melodramatic. I mean intense as in highly suspenseful, passionate, great characters, and a thrilling plot that continues to thicken, as one thing after another occurs, and just when you think nothing else can happen, it does! There are so many twists, turns and surprises in this story, and I could not turn pages fast enough!!!
I highly, highly, recommend Bash and Olivia's story! It's one of those stories that hooks you immediately, and you find yourself completely taken in. Part two begins right where part one left off. Bash is in jail, and Olivia is trying to get money to bail him out. His brother Matty hates her, and blames her for his brother being behind bars. Things take an interesting turn for Olivia, Bash, and Matty in book 2. The suspense continues to build, and the book leaves you begging for more!
I give, Fix You, Bash and Olivia Book Two, by Christine Belle, 4 Fantastic, Fast-Paced, Frenzy Filled Stars! Add this serial to your TBR list for a great romance, with lots of passion, suspense, and plot twists! These installments are perfect to read in one sitting, and you will not be able to get enough of Bash and Olivia's story!
I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest feedback!
I feel like I've ranted about this before... but WHAT IN THE WORLD is up with this new phenomenon in which novels are written and then broken up into three books, with the first two ending on a cliffhangers?
Honestly, it has really turned me off from some books lately. But back to Fix You: Bash and Olivia Book Two.
Olivia is a girl who was raised with money and had expectations of marrying her long time boyfriend to keep life easy for her parents. However, a turn of events and the realization that her boyfriend wasn't who he said he was left her in an odd situation with Bash as her witness.
Bash and Olivia as characters are both really round and engaging characters with interesting back stories. Unfortunately, this is a novella and you don't truly get to dig deep into their characters. Just as you are getting invested in their story, the novella abruptly ends and you are left to find out what happens next-- in the next book.
The writing was interesting and had the author combined books 1, 2, and 3 together into one developed, interesting, and complete story-- this would have been a 5 star read. But as it stands, the lack of development doesn't allow for you to get properly invested into your characters.
I am not made to be a serial reader ... I mean I used to be, but I've become so impatient for the whole story that reading these is like torture.
Part of the reason is that Bell does an amazing job pulling you into this story and making you care what the hell is going to happen next. After part 1, I was dying to find out what would happen with Bash and Olivia and I wasn't at all disappointed in this installment.
We definitely find out and then some in part 2. We start out by finding out just how much trouble Bash is in and it's not good. But we also learn a little bit more about Bash's brothers and then ... AND THEN... Christine Bell leaves you dying for more right at the end.
I can't wait to see what part 3 brings us and the only thing I have to say (beg) is this...I need it now!!
I am so falling in love with this series. It is written so well and the characters just grab me and wont let me go until the book is finished. The story is fantastic, I can truly feel everything they are going through like its me, and let me tell you if it was my story there would be a lot more black eyes! I am away to buy part three...I need to know whats going to happen...NOW!!!
I really liked it! Bash's sexy professor fantasy...Actually, you know what, I think I'm going to bump it up a star, lol. This was definitely the best of this series so far. Hopefully the third one will be as good as this one!
In book two about Bash and Olivia, the story picks up after Bash has been arrested for protecting Olivia from her abusive boyfriend. His fighting career is being threatened as he sits in jail. I like how the author makes Bash question his relationship with Olivia. His doubts are realistic and so is his resolve to move on. However, Olivia refuses to give up which makes me like the girl even more. She is willing to make sacrifices for Bash and she does help him get out of jail. He is torn when it comes to Olivia. He wants her but he believes he isn’t good for her. There is a lot of angst, doubt and sacrifice in this second part. Olivia continues to be with Bash even though everyone is against it, even to some extent Bash himself. Olivia is probably my favorite character. She stands up for what she wants and refuses to let Bash self-destruct. It was a fast read and kept things interesting. You felt as if you were a part of the group as things went down. It was a great read. I give it a 4 out of 5.
An absolutely fantastic story. Bash and Olivia may have embarked on a drama filled journey but they are simply perfect for one another. This is a definite page turner. Great Story
This is part two in the three part serial Fix You. I really enjoyed the romance from part one and surprisingly enough, the cliffhanger-ish ending to part one didn’t bother me one bit. I think knowing that part two was right around the corner helped! Thankfully, part two did not let me down on the romance.
Yeah, yeah… not everyone is a fan of the serial format. I had the opportunity to read and review this series so I gobbled it up based on the premise and the timing of the “books”. They were only a month apart. This one worked for me personally but if you want the entire story, it’s only $4.99 on Amazon right now (about what you pay for an ebook anyways).
After what I would call an awkward beginning to a relationship, Bash and Olivia are proving that they truly have chemistry together. I really enjoy Ms. Bell’s writing style. She does a great job illustrating the couple’s mutual attraction for each other in completely different voices in her story’s dual POV. I really love a woman writer who can write a guy’s voice well – not too perfect and all man :)
Ms. Bell does a fine job writing supporting characters that you just want to throttle over the head with pipe wrench for their stupidity. One such supporting character does indeed make a stupid mistake for the sake of the plot so my aggression towards a certain brother of Bash’s is totally warranted.
Unfortunately, it was this whole added plot twist that hogged “page time” in part two therefore I didn’t learn anything new about the abusive sociopath boyfriend and his meddling ways. Really, he was basically MIA.
But, by the time we were nearing the end of the book, I was gladly sidetracked by some phenomenal lovin’ between our awesome couple and a crazy, didn’t-see-that-coming, plot twist. I just hope there’s a beautiful HEA at the end of this ride or I’m going to seriously be pissed!!!
This is the second installment in the Fix You book series. If you have not read the first book you truly need to start there as this is a serial series and you will need to go in order. I have to admit I am not a fan of the serial books but I had been lucky enough to receive the first book and I was officially hooked.
This book takes off straight from book two with Nash in jail. Things are strained because of this between Bash and his siblings and especially Olivia and Matty, Bash's older brother. Everything is messed up and Bash is wondering what is going on with Olivia as he has not heard from her while she was in jail and the parting words he heard her say to her ex before going off to jail haven't helped. But as the reader, we know that Olivia is all in. She has been working hard to get things taken care of for Bash and she comes through. Unfortunately it all happens just a little too late and Matty has gotten himself in a bind with his efforts to help Bash. This has Bash seeking his own way to remedy the situation but it really puts him in danger and he is doing it behind everyone's back. As far as what happens next....I DON"T KNOW because the book ends with yet another cliffy. I swear this book will drive me crazy til I get to the end.
Seriously, any book that hooks you so well is worth the read. Some may prefer to wait until the entire series is complete and then start so you won't be stewing until the next installment comes out. Definitely worth the read though as Bash is one man worth the wait. All I'm gonna say is his answer in truth or dare....
Thanks to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
FIX YOU: Bash and Olivia by Christine Bell continues with the second novella in the McDaniels Brothers series. Sebastian "Bash" McDaniels and Olivia Beckett have found love but their lives are in turmoil in the aftermath of Andy, Olivia's wealthy, sociopathic ex-boyfriend’s revenge for Olivia walking away from him.
Ms. Bell continues to write these two characters with a magnetic attraction and so much sexual chemistry between them it’s palpable and draws you to every word. With the odds, and seemingly everyone they care about against them, they still can’t stay away from each other. The gorgeous, sexy, hard-working, Bash is still trying to keep his eye on the prize, getting into his first big-time bout. Olivia is trying to finish up her college semester, while fretting over both her part in Bash’s troubles and what has happened to her father’s fortune.
I also love the family dynamic Ms. Bell brings to this series. The McDaniel brothers have only had each other to count on for so long and are clearly ready to lay down their lives for one another. Matt, even with how much he blames Olivia for Bash’s being arrested, goes to great lengths to free his brother. Bash in turn, goes to equally great lengths to free his brother from the obligation he incurs. I am really enjoying the drama, the suspense, the romance, and the rawness of this well-written story by Christine Bell. Looking forward to third novella and seeing Bash and Olivia get their HEA! 4 stars

When Bash in unable to help himself and left at the mercy of others his brother gets in way over his head in order to help the only way he knows how. At the same time Olivia is also doing what she thinks she has to in order to save him from something she deems entirely her fault.
It comes down to a simple misunderstanding. Bash is hurt because he thinks she doesn’t return his feelings, but he still would have done the exact same thing that landed him in jail given the chance again. Olivia doesn’t think she’s worthy of him. All she’s done is get him in trouble since the night they met. She understands perfectly why his brother hates her, hell she hates herself for what happened. But when it comes right down to it, they just can’t seem to stay away from each other for long.
“The days we’d spent apart since I’d last seen her were hell. I tried to tell myself I was doing the right thing by staying away…by not leading her on. But being without her felt so fucking wrong.”
Just like in part one it was easy to get caught up in the story and therefore it is completely too short. I think if you want to read this series you should wait until it’s complete, because the cliffhanger endings are killer! I absolutely cannot believe what Bash is going to do. Now I’m left holding my breath and waiting for part three. Thank goodness I don’t have to wait long.
I received a copy of Fix You for an honest review.
Eeep! Okay so the first book in this series I wasn’t really feeling the characters. I mean it seemed like the books were going to be just about sex and I am so not into that. Fix You definitely turned that idea up on its behind. Seriously it blew my mind.
Olivia is doing everything she can to help save Bash from her ex-boyfriends arrest charges. I thought it would end there but oh no it gets so much worse! The mob is involved and things are becoming dangerous for the McDaniel’s brothers and for Olivia. Bash and Olivia are trying hard to not be attracted to one another and to just be friends but that just isn’t possible.
Olivia and Bash are so perfect for each other. They are both going through a rough time but their chemistry is beautiful!
After reading the first book I didn’t think I would care to find out what happened to Bash or Olivia but this second installment has totally changed my mind. This second installment was intense and deep and so full of tension over what will happen next that I seriously need to know WHAT THE HELL IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT!
Great sequel Ms. Christine Bell can’t wait to see what you surprise us with next!
Bash & Olivia are two young kids drawn together & now separated by Olivia's nasty ex-boyfriend who claims Bash beat him up while fighting over Olivia. Bash's future hangs in the balance as Olivia tries everything within her power to get the cash to get him out of jail & get him the best legal representation. She feels completely responsible & she figures Bash won't want anything to do with her. His brother Matty feels that Bash should avoid Olivia, that she caused all of these problems in the first place, and Matty also searches out the means to raise funds for Bash's release not realizing he is causing even more headaches. Olivia's parents are in some deep financial trouble which they are staying quiet about, but at least she feels like Bash is having a problem trying to stay away from her. She is back in his loving arms and their sexual chemistry is way hot! They play a short round of Truth or Dare because it instantly gets them horny, even when they only choose Truth. Bash has to focus on his big boxing match months down the road but right now he might have to fight for save his brother Matty. Olivia is left in the end with her insecurities about a future with Bash. Words shared in the heat of passion seem to be lost now. Very good book but a little short.
Fix You: Bash and Olivia, Books 1, 2, and 3 (McDaniel’s Brothers)
If you are the type person that does not like "waiting" then I recommend you purchase all three Ebooks and have them ready to read accordingly.
Christine Bell "hooked" me from Book 1 with her strong characters and the great plot. The story flows extremely well and was a very enjoyable read. Also Christine did well with the dual POV. I loved being able to read both sides of a story a once and not in two separate books.
I really enjoyed the drama, the suspense, and the romance from the beginning abusive tendencies of Andy, to the perfect sexual chemistry between Bash and Olivia, the background story lines for Olivia regarding her family that plays-out through all three books) and the McDaniel’s Brothers background (regarding how they grew up and why they are so close now), the action (boxing/fighting), the right balance of disappointment vs. achievement, the fear, the love, and the hope.
It is a story of two people from totally different backgrounds falling in love, dealing with the turmoil of life and pulling through at all costs with a little "sexy" thrown in for all around balance. I would highly recommend all three books to other readers interested in this type story.
I really wish I could review this all as one book. It’s difficult to review bits and pieces of a story when it’s broken into parts like this; which is another reason why I’m not a huge fan of serials. I need it all at one time and then write one giant review.
This one starts out with Bash in prison. I wanted to beat the crap out of Olivia’s ex and his dad. And Olivia in the beginning too, but only because I didn’t know any better. I should have known she’d never leave poor Bash hanging. They are too great together for that. It took me a while to warm up to Bash’s brothers. I still think Matty’s a jerkface and Reid we barely know him, but he seems all right’ definitely the baby in the family.
Again the way the book ends, makes me angry. This time I wanted to punch Bash for being a dummy. Why do boys not think things through or talk them through with more level headed people before making ridiculously huge decisions? Of course, I had to rush right to Amazon to buy the third book in the serial so I could find out how it all ends.
Arc provided by the publisher via Netgalley for an honest review
Grrrrr.....this is why I don't do serials! They suck you in, make you fall in love with the characters & then it's over. You're left with a cliffhanger wanting & craving more until the next part is out. I also find reviewing serials to be kinda hard. Where they're only a few chapters long, you don't want to say anything that'll give anything away.
Of course this takes place right where Part 1 left off. In a nutshell, Bash is in jail for protecting Olivia form her ex, Olivia is trying to scramble to get money to help bail Bash out & then some, Bash made a deal with the devil to not only help his brother out but, also to not burden Olivia. Oh & thrown in all that madness, Bash & Olivia have some hot sexy times! Phew, get all that?!
Christine Bell does a fantastic job of sucking you in & making you fall in love with her characters. While at the same time writing a story that's not only well written but, also entertaining, raw & gritty. I love it! I NEED part 3 now!!!
This is the second book of a series of a total of 5. This is still dealing with Oliva and Bash. Bash is in jail and his brother is not happy that the money they have must now go for bail and an attorney. He told Bash to stay away from women but there is something that is pulling him towards Oliva. Oliva is selling items in her apartment and her car to pay for his bail and to manage to come up with a way to get an attorney. Her former boyfriend says he will drop all charges if she will marry him but she will not do it. As Bash walks out of jail she is waiting and explains to him and his brother is there wanting to beat the ….. Out of him, but instead walks away. Where does this story go now? I don’t know waiting or trying to get the next book to find out, but the characters have depth and the storyline is full of power that will hook the reader into the story immediately. Good books. I got this book from net galley.
Hate how short these are you don't get enough time to really soak in what's going on. If it's not one thing with these guys its another, seems like the only sane one is Reid. Olivia still has no clue about what's going on and I have a feeling Andy is still lurking waiting on his chance to strike. Bash has just set himself in with a down right bully and I'm thinking he's agreed to more then what he really wants. Didn't seem like he worked out enough details with Mickey and that has to be a problem. Plus it sets him up for more trouble down the line with his own big fight if he gets hurt. To top that off it still is not worth what Mickey is demanding from Matty. I think Matty's heart was in the right place and he even came to his senses with Mickey. But in the end it's still costing him and I won't be surprised if he runs to Mickey for the same thing Bash has since he doesn't know what Bash has done. Either way good read and I can't wait to see what happens with them.
4 stars partly because its part of a series with cliffhangers and I really, really don't like short stories or volumes because I have absolutely NO patience.
***********SPOILER ALERT************
Please do not read this review if you haven't read book 1
We pick up where book 1 left off with Liv springing Bash from prison. Bash knows in his head that he needs to stay away from Liv, but his heart just won't let him.
Liv is just trying to right the wrongs, but of course this is easier said than done.
I don't want to give away any of the story, so I'm just going to say that I love the chemistry between the characters, the love between the brothers, for me, it had just the right amount of everything, angst, hope, love, fear, and frustration.
I can't wait for Book 3!!!!
I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
Going to keep this short and sweet, this is a must read series and I CANNOT WAIT for May 20th for the final installment in The McDaniels Brothers series.
SO many feels after reading book two this morning, the chemistry between Bash and Olivia is off the charts. It's hard to review a book you've enjoyed so much as all you want to do is rave about all the hot & emotional stuff like the hot bedroom, car, gym scenes <<< trust this scene had me fanning myself lol Then add the drama and everything going on between the brothers and what's going on in Olivia's life I would be giving everything away.
SO I highly recommend you read these books, trust me you will not be disappointed.
Thank you to Christine Bell for the gift, you truly made my morning/day.
SO much better. I like the Olivia who's taking charge of what she wants, deciding what's important and then doing what she's got to do to make it happen. She may not have known much of 'real life' before Bash, but she's a fast learner and pretty determined.
I love Bash but I hate that he's put himself in a situation that might not be good with no one there for him. I hope his asshat brother finds out what's going on and shows up. Too bad we can't throw Andy in the ring.
Yeah, I am not cut out for serial series and I'll make sure it's all complete before I start another one. But at least part 3 of this is out on May 20th, I need to know what happens!
Bash needs to learn how to be part of a team instead of trying to do everything alone to spare those he cares about. For that matter, they all do. I understand people want to keep those they care about out of pain and sadness but these things that are happening to them with Bash and now issues with his brother, well it is way to scarey to do this on their own.
I have to wait and find out what happens to Bash next. How will Olivia take it. And Matty better get his act together too! I hope he finds someone, he needs a gentle touch of his own. Another cliffhanger. (insert sad face here)
Thanks Netgalley for a free book to read and review.
My definition of a book is more than 75 pages, so this feels more like a serial or a novella.
This second part of this book had a better vibe to it, but the situation is getting worse. The more we go along, the more we realize how dire the situation is. I had hoped the third part would be on netgalley but so far I haven't seen it. Bash and Olivia make a definitely beat the odds pair, and I'm hoping these two find a HEA but it doesn't look good. Can this young love survive? Overall entertainment in this tiny book was four stars, and I would love to read the next.
Book Two starts out with Bash being held in jail and Olivia in a pawn shop. Olivia pawns some jewelry to get enough money to release Bash from jail. (She also wants to sell her car) His brother gets a loan from the resident Goodfella, Mickey, and now owes him $10k. Bash decides to fight in Mickey's illegal (of course) fight club to pay off some of the debt. Before he goes to fight, he and Olivia say they love each other. Bash hasn't told Olivia that he was fighting, but his brother goes to Olivia for help to get Bash before he gets into the ring. Instead of talking things out, both Bash and Olivia think of the worst case scenarios.
