4 - I Need Part 2 Like Yesterday Stars!!

Olivia and Bash, don't meet under the best circumstances. After punching her boyfriend Adams lights out in a restroom for physically threatening her, things get off too a shaky start....

Olivia and her family are in the process of losing everything, and Bash and his family don't really have much to loose, but for some reason despite the mountain of differences between them, they are drawn to each other.

What follows in this instalment of Fix You, I suppose sets the scene for the future instalments, I am on the fence about my feelings towards Olivia for now (I think that will be resolved by her actions in part 2), but as I expected Christine Bell has given me another sexy, rough on the outside, soft as silk on the inside guy to fall head-over-bookboyfriend-heels in lust with, in Bash McDaniels.

When I saw her up close for the first time. I'd wanted to tuck her into my chest and hold her tight. To tell her that everything was going to be all right. To touch her skin because it looked so goddamned soft and sweet. I felt the same this time.

Self defence training has never been so sexy, and if there is a sign up sheet for some one-on-one sessions, put me at the top!

I am just glad we only have to wait until 30/04 for the next part because I am hanging right now!

I adore all things Christine Bell, so when I had the opportunity to get my hands on Fix You, I jumped.

I had no idea what I was getting into… I didn’t even read the summary!

Fix You is a serial that will be told in three parts all arriving fairly quickly, though not quick enough if you’re greedy like I am.

On the outside, Olivia seems to have it all. The perfect boyfriend, the rich family… but appearances can be deceiving for sure. After recently finding out her family is near bankruptcy and her childhood friend turned boyfriend has started getting violent with her and she isn’t sure where her life is headed. A chance encounter in a bar ends up opening her life to someone unexpected, someone she finds herself wanting to depend on.

For Sebastian, the college bar he works at is just a brief stop to make some cash while he trains for the big fight coming on the horizon. But he can’t just stand around and watch some douche rough up this girl when he could do something about it.

Both Olivia and Bash know that whatever chemistry is between them can’t and won’t last yet neither can seem to walk away. Unfortunately, Olivia’s ex isn’t willing to let go either.

I will just say it outright. I adore the characters that Christine Bell creates. They feel real and layered and flawed, just like regular people. The guys are most certainly not perfect and Bash is rough and brash and wants to fight for a living and his past has definitely shaped who he is today and not all in positive ways. And Olivia … There was a lot that I loved about her. I hated the situation she was in, but I understood her desire to want to see the good in her ex, and the determination to not give up that person who she has loved for so long. There were definitely some very wrong reasons she was still holding on, but it made sense. What I liked most about her though, was her determination and strength to want do right by herself.

Holy steamy – Bell does an amazing job with the sexy scenes in her books and this one totally lives up to its predecessors. I am a notorious word freak when it comes to these kinds of scenes and Bell does them perfectly! The chemistry between Bash & Olivia was believeable and so well done.

An instant later, the kiss went from sweet to off the rails. A low growl came from deep in his throat and he closed his hands over my hips, thumbs pressing into my flesh in a way that turned my stomach into a pool of taffy. His mouth slanted over mine and teeth and tongues clashed like it was war.

And it was. A war inside me, at least. My brain had popped back into gear and I knew with every fiber of my being that what I was doing was wrong. I needed to stop, but my body was so not on board with that plan. Instead, I pressed closer, mashing my breasts to his chest, moaning into his mouth when the heat of his skin seeped into mine.

More.

He anchored me to him, crowding me backward until I felt the chill of the mirror against my back. Our bodies were flush now, and he speared a hand through my hair.

It was madness. All-consuming madness.

"Olivia?"

He'd pulled back a scant inch to mutter my name before dipping back in to nip my bottom lip hard. I gasped, stunned at the sensation. It stung, but sent a bolt of need slamming through me so hard, my knees trembled.

"Liv?" he tried again, before tracing my bottom lip with the tip of his tongue.

"I-if you want me to answer you, stop doing that for a sec," I murmured desperately.

The only thing that I disliked about this…. It was too short. I guess that’s the price you pay for picking up a serial, and where Bell leaves part 1 will make you cry because part 2 isn’t out yet, but it wasn’t abrupt or too cliffhangery, (that’s totally a word) if that’s a worry you might have when picking this up.

Definitely put Christine Bell on your ‘to read list’ and make sure you pick this one up when it arrives on the 31st. Meanwhile I’ll just be sitting over here biting my nails waiting for Part 2 because OMG!!

Thank you to Barclay Publicity for the advance copy in exchange for my honest thoughts

Christine Bell has done it again. FIX YOU, book 1 in Bash and Olivia's story, was one I couldn't put down and when I got the end I wanted to scream.

Despite a less than romantic meeting in a local bar, college student Olivia Beckett can't resist the draw of Sebastian "Bash" McDaniels. Despite his warnings to stay away, Olivia convinces Bash to give her self defense lessons. He knows her should do them, because he needs to concentrate on his fighting and not the beautiful girl he's training, but he can't say no to her. When Olivia's ex-boyfriend decides to make things hard on Olivia, they become very hard for Bash.

Both Olivia and Bash have issues, which we begin to see the tip of in this first installment. I can't wait to delve more into both of these characters. What we get in this installment are two people trying to deal the best they can with their current situations. For Olivia, that means tightening the spending strings now that her parents are in basically financial ruin and ending things with her long time boyfriend. For Bash, it's focusing on his fighting and finding a way to get out. Neither one of them can really use the distraction of the other, but they can't stay away from each other either.

Prepare for frustration when you get to the end of the book, but hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the next installment to get more from Bash and Olivia.

I get that this is supposed to be a little novella and such but it was pretty terrible. The characters are all such stereotypes and there's no depth to them. I didn't spend a dime on this book and I'm so thankful. Bash is some big manly boxer type that immediately resorts to violence when he himself condemns it (in a good way). I don't understand why he couldn't just lift that jackass Adam or whatever his name was and throw him out the door like a good bouncer/bartender would do instead of punching him. Logic dictates one thing that won't get you in trouble. He's selfish and distant and full of drama.

Olivia is the typical young college girl with an abusive boyfriend and no way to get out. How about not giving someone a key to your room? My boyfriend in college never had one. How about you not being responsible for the actions of your parents and not staying with someone out of guilt and obligation. Sick of the stereotypes.

Sick of the women who justify staying in a bad relationship, especially because your parents squandered their money.

I wash my hands of you Bash and Olivia.

MY THOUGHTS

description

Olivia is in her 3rd year of College - now it's Spring Break - and she could have the time of her life. But not only is her boyfriend getting more violent with each passing day - her family is about to lose all their money.

That's when she meets Sebastian - Bash - in a Bar.

He saves her from being hurt by her 'boyfriend' Andy. By hitting him in the face - Bash's really good at that - he's about to become a professional boxer.

description

That's why he can't have any new complications in his life.
He needs to concentrate on his future.
But this beautiful, sad girl is going to be a huge complication.
Because he's immediately attracted to her - just as she is to him - but there's still Andy. And with the help of his rich family, he manages to get Bash fired from the Bar.
After that he thankfully disappears to Cabo with a few friends, leaving Liv & Bash alone to ...

Well - they both know it's not right and they won't have a future - but they start seeing each other.
Not seeing as in dating, but seeing as in - he teaches her some self-defense techniques.

description

That's how things get started with them
☺☺☺

WILL THE TWO OF THEM GET THEIR HEA???

description

I'm not telling you that of course!! GO READ IT!

I REALLY LOVED THE STORY!!!!!

It was way too short - REALLY short.... :(
But it was a really cute, sexy, sweet and exciting/suspensy New Adult Romance.

Bash & Olivia both have problems in their lives - but they just clicked - they're soo perfect for each other...
But it's not as easy as it could be of course.
Bash wants to get out of Boston to become a professional boxer and Liv doesn't know how her life with be in the future - she probably won't be able to afford school anymore, with her parents' money-problems. And then there's Andy of course - he's not a nice guy!!!

But together they could fight through all the troubles and make a life - I'm really looking forward to find out how they will do that ☺

IT REALLY WAS A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE ROMANCE!!

unfortunately we have one of these.....

description

CLIFFHANGER!!!!!

BUT - we won't have to wait long!!!

Books 2+3 will be out in April & May ☺

This was a quick short,(seriously only about an hour) hot read.

Olivia Beckett life has turned to shit, and her boyfriend is becoming more and more abusive on top of it all.

One night while out, she is saved by Bash McDaniels, when Andy takes things a bit too far.

As I said this is a short novella so it spans a week and is the beginning of Bash and Olivia's story.

Olivia stands to lose everything.
Bash doesn't have much to lose.

A new take on the uptown girl and the guy from the wrong side of the tracks, that I for one can't wait to see how it concludes.

This is my first Christine Bell book but I think I will def be hitting up her other books. Novella's are hard to master, they either give everything away too quickly. Finish too soon. Don't get enough chemistry to like the H or h.
However Christine has done just that. We get enough back story to be intrigued.
Enough chemistry to like the characters.
Enough mystery about what's to come in the future and enough hints to start our brains working on what that might be.
Well done.

As for the characters: Olivia I'm not 100% sure on, something about her annoys me, but I'm hoping is fixed in book 2..
Bash.. sigh he's a boxer so I was always going to love him. Just like an egg. Hard on the outside soft on the inside.
Matthias - Interesting, I'm assuming as the series is called "McDaniels Brothers" that he gets a book as well - Oh and did I mention he's a MMA fighter? No. Well he's a MMA fighter ^_^
Andy is an asshole.

Oh and I know you all wanna know how the sex is right?
Well I can say that while sexual chemistry is off the charts hot and goes throughout the book.
There is only one sex scene. Not the hottest thing I have read, but def steamy.

OH AND BEWARE... CLIFFHANGER! but only 1 month wait till the next is out.

big shoutout to Barclay Publishing for gifting a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I'm really torn on whether to give this 4 or 5 stars.

On the one hand, the first 25-ish percent was a bit of a struggle. Olivia's excuses for an abusive boyfriend she wasn't even in love with annoyed me greatly. I disliked how she didn't even have a backbone with her fake friends. Somewhere around that mark I thought she was going to be a weak heroine and I debated not finishing, but it's not like it's a long book, so I soldiered on.

I'm really glad I did. By 34% I was warming to Olivia. Shortly afterward, I liked her, even though her particular faults often annoyed me.

For example--and the best one I can give, since I had to put the book down for a while after this paragraph: There are a lot of reasons women stay with abusers, make excuses for them, try to "manage" them instead of dumping them like they should. I know this. I get it. Typically it's love; love can make you excruciatingly stupid. Sometimes, also stupid, you want to "fix" him or help him. Sometimes it's not about love, even if you try to cling to that, it's about security. Maybe you live together and don't know where you'll go. Maybe all your friends are his friends and your family loves him/you love his family and don't want to be alone in the world/lose everything.

These are not necessarily good reasons, because there is no good reason to stay with someone who abuses you, but they are excuses you can at least somewhat understand.

The single worst reason I have ever heard to stay with your abusive boyfriend that you don't really love anymore?
"If I walked away from him now without giving him a chance to open up to me about whatever demons he was wrestling, what kind of person would that make me?"

Fury. So much fury. Bash inwardly mocks the "Maury Povich" response of "But I LOVE him!" but you know what, at least that chick is owning it. At least she's saying, "I'm being an idiot about this because even though I shouldn't, I am still very much emotionally invested in this jerk that I love."

That, to me, is much more respectable and human than, "I'm going to give him another chance because I want to be a good person."
WHAT ABOUT THAT MAKES YOU A GOOD PERSON? Nothing! It makes you a fucking idiot, but it doesn't give you any good person points. You're not doing anyone else any favors by being with this sociopath. You don't owe this guy anything. These are not reasons to be with someone, let alone stay with someone who hurts you. Just no.

So that obviously made me mad. Get some self-worth, dammit. Worst abuse-excuse ever.

But the fact that I still liked Olivia despite this is testimony to her character; I am very particular about my heroines, and she could have easily entered extremely-frustrating-heroine status and become really unlikeable, but she didn't.

Aside from all that abuse-excuse crap, I really enjoyed this book. The characters were realistic, which I love, and Bash was really great. Every interaction was written so thoroughly that I could constantly see the characters as I was reading, see what they were wearing, what they were doing, how they were moving around the scene... I often fill in those blanks myself as I read, that doesn't bother me personally, but I really enjoyed the flow of this book. I liked Olivia's cute awkwardness around Bash. (Didn't love the name Bash, but I guess with guys out there named Sculpt and Horse and Picnic, I shouldn't complain about Bash, lol.)

I also think the book covers are spot on! The character descriptions fit the covers completely, so good job there!

Definitely going to check out the next book to see what happens, and then when I get time, I'm going to read some more Christine Bell. :)

Fix You, Bash and Olivia Book One (The McDaniels Brothers #1) by Christine Bell

Christine Bell has written a short novella that is around 74 pages that introduces us to The McDaniels Brothers series. This novella is well written, story flows extremely well and was a very enjoyable read. Fix You tells us the story of Bash and Olivia.

Olivia life is falling apart, her boyfriend who she thought was great is now showing his true self and she is not sure what to do about it and how to get away from his anger and the violence before he hurts her to much. But on the other side Olivia still can see the good side to him and ends up confused, hurt and alone with no one to talk to.

Bash McDaniel walks in her life and saves the day and maybe even her life. Bash is not sure if he should get involved as he has his own plans that do not involve saving the amazing beautiful girl. Growing closer, attraction building he knows he can't walk away from Olivia plus he really needs to make sure she is safe. Bash and Olivia become friends. The attraction between Olivia and Bash is right there in front of you and you can almost feel it. So when things heat up between these two it is HOT! and Exciting!

Christine Bell does an amazing job with this story, even though it was a fast read everything about it was great. This is Book One and I for one cannot wait to read Book Two in this series. I have rated Fix You a 4.5 star rating and would recommend it to anyone who loves romance, hot sexy alpha males and a great story.

I've only read one other serial novel before, so I was prepared for the novella feel, but in no way was I prepared for the ending! It wasn't a cliffhanger per say, but it definitely left me desperate to get my hands on the next book! I really enjoyed reading Christine's books from the Brazen line, so I knew I would I enjoy this one. For being the first serial, it sure packs a steamy punch!

Pacing: Due to the fact that these are serial reads, the pacing is very fast- Christine does not hesitate in jumping right in and introducing you to the characters and describing their immediate attraction to one another. For this type of novel, I felt it really worked well.

Storyline: I feel we got a pretty good introduction to the characters and their personalities here. Olivia and Bash come from different worlds and circumstances, but after a chance encounter, neither can stop thinking about the other. They know nothing can come of what they feel, and yet they find themselves wanting more, consequences be damned. I really do love the forbidden type romances because it makes every touch, feeling, and thought that much more passionate and powerful.

Characters: Overall, I liked both Bash and Olivia. They have some serious chemistry together and I am really excited to see where Bell takes them next! On the outside it may seem Olivia Beckett has a great life, but in reality, it's not as perfect as it appears. Olivia's family's financial situation is quite serious, and Olivia is on the verge of losing everything. Her seemingly perfect boyfriend, Andy, has a much darker side lurking and if Olivia isn't careful, she could end up in some real trouble. I really felt for her, but I'm glad she realizes the seriousness of the situation and attempts to do what's best for her, instead of sticking around because it's what expected. It took her a little longer than I liked to find that courage, as the situation with Andy has been a volatile one long before that night she first met Bash. She is convinced that the sweet boy she used to know is still there and he's just an angry drunk.

I liked Bash immediately. He is a good guy and I really feel he's getting the short end of the stick here, simply because he saw a potentially dangerous situation and took charge of it. We don't find out a whole lot about Bash's past, but we do discover that he has two other brothers and is a boxer who wants to get the hell out of Boston. He gives the term 'knight in shining armor' a whole other meaning here and I don't blame Olivia one bit for not being able to let him slip away without him understanding her gratitude and also her regret for what he did for her. He tries to distance himself from her because he knows anything they have can only be temporary, but Olivia is sweet and sexy and he just can't stay away no matter how hard he tries.

Final Thoughts: I am really looking forward to seeing where Bell goes with this and see if Bash and Olivia will be able to overcome the multitude of obstacles in their way in order to be together. They both have a plan for their lives and whether it will involve the other is still to be determined....

Unfortunately, Fix You was not for me. I have been known to enjoy the serial books that are becoming a "thing" but, I think this book would have been better off sitting a little bit longer and coming out as a full story and not pieced out. I feel that the serials are meant for very emotional, and raw stories. Fix You didn't accomplish that with me. It felt disjointed and very rushed. I could not bring myself to like the heroine, Olivia, she seemed childish, and naive. Whereas, Bash has so much riding on his job, and seemed to be a stand up guy for his family until Olivia makes him lose his head. It just didn't click with me. The story, the characters, their circumstances and their chemistry. Something just seemed off.

That being said, Fix You does have the potential to grow into a book I would like to read. It did end on a mild cliffhanger which will probably intrigue me enough to move on to the second book. But the second serial is going to have to possess major growth where Olivia is concerned, and more explanation where her family is concerned, and build more on Bash and Olivia's relationship. The way part one ended, it just felt like a physical connection with no deeper meaning between the two.

Again, I don't mind serials but they have to be done fantastically. This one was just so-so, and the fact that it was a serial on top of that just made it more frustrating than anything. I want to be left needing and wanting more. Fix You just left me perplexed and wanting it to have gone the extra mile and reach its potential. I sincerely hope this was just a slow start and then next parts in the book will rise to the occasion.

Happy Reading!

Sebastian (Bash) is a boxer hoping to make it big so that he can finally leave Boston, once and for all. He lives above a gym that he and his two brothers own and has a rigorous training schedule. In his off time he works at a local pub, that is until he gets into a fight one night protecting a girl from her abusive boyfriend. The boyfriend is rich and ready to make Bash pay, especially when he thinks that Bash is out to get his girl. Bash doesn’t need the distraction of a girlfriend right now while he has his eye on the prize, but Olivia has gotten under his skin.

Olivia is a once spoiled little rich girl whose family has lost everything (this part of the story wasn’t particularly well developed). She’s a college student whose rich boyfriend is abusive, especially when drunk. When the hot, muscled Bash comes to her rescue in a bar bathroom one night, there is an immediate attraction. Bash tries to distance himself but continues to be pulled back to her, even with the legal case against him and preparation for his big fight, he jumps into a relationship with Olivia, against his brothers’ protests.

I liked both of the characters. Olivia was a strong heroine and Bash, despite being tall, dark, and handsome was relatable and not over the top alpha. The chemistry between the two was sizzling and it made for a quick, easy read. The book was good right up until the end. The last two chapters or so felt very rushed. There was a lot of build up and hype over Bash making it to the big time and it was all glossed over, he made it and that’s it. I really wish there had been more resolution because in the end, it really felt like I was missing something. This is the first book I’ve read by Bell and I would definitely pick up another.

It seems an upcoming trend to cut one novel into three pieces and release each piece every couple of weeks. Honestly I do not understand why authors are doing this. I'm one of those people who reads her books in one breath, like start and finish it on the same day, week maximum. So reading a story and just when things gets interesting, the book stops and I have to wait three weeks 'till I can read the next part, it is not meant for me. First of all I don't have the patience for that and second it makes me lose interest in the story. The only way to get me to read the three parts is after they are all released and I can read it in one setting.

I also find it really difficult to review only a part of a story. Of course I have a lot of questions to what has happened to Olivia's family with the financial ruin and Bash's history. We get glimpses of that in this part, but more to come I guess.

As for the overall storyline so far it's not original and I feel like I've read this a couple of times before. Also the certain use of words and the sentences are a bit over the top and tiresome. The flow is good and I finished it really quickly, but I was mostly glad it was over.

Bash and Olivia are interesting characters, though once again not very original. Olivia did make a couple of choices so far I can not agree with and that made it hard to connect with her. While Bash was certainly appealing, I had trouble seeing the attraction between these two characters. It was all too instant love-ish, which I'm not a fan of.

I do think the die hard fans of New Adult will like it, but it just wasn't for me.

My review of “Fixing You.”

I liked “Fixing You” by Christine Bell. It was a short read. More a novella than anything else. I didn’t know that when I got the ARC to review it. I probably would have reviewed it even knowing it was a novella, but it’s more than that—it’s a serial. And I just don’t like serials. I don’t see the point in them. Had I know that’s what it was, I would have taken a pass on reviewing “Fixing You.” Not because it wasn’t good; it was. But I have so many books lined up to review that, unless I’m asked to review each book of the series, I won’t have time to read them. And that is disappointing.

The characters in the book were real. They had issues like we all do—well, maybe we don’t all have their issues. Because they had some big issues to deal with. Bash just wanted out. He wanted to start a new life in a new city with a new job. He wanted out, the sooner the better. Then in walks Olivia and everything went to hell in a hand basket. She had everything, but was on a downward spiral. Losing it all, including an abusive boyfriend. Yeah, they had problems and that’s what made them relatable.

I think the characters were well written and the story was well thought out, although I don’t know that it was quite believable that two people who had so much trouble in their relationship would continue seeking each other out. The pacing was fast, as seems to be the norm in serials. It’s a quick read, but a good one. The ending did a good job of hooking the reader for the second book.

Bottom line: I liked the book. I do not like that it is a serial.

What a hot and sexy read! I had no idea what I was getting into when I started the first volume of Fix You by Christine Lee but I’m SO glad I jumped in with both feet. In Fix You, Book One, we meet Bash/Sebastian and Olivia. Bash is this super-hot and sexy boxer who’s preparing for his next big fight. He’s surrounded by his brothers and is working to stay under the radar until he’s ready to leave town. Olivia is a college student who’s wrapped up in a relationship with a boyfriend who’s not the nicest guy in the world. She’s sweet but has a strong personality…although I do wonder if she’s not a bit too naïve about her boyfriend…

Oh, and did I mention that Bash and Olivia have chemistry that practically leaps off the page? Um, yeah. I could feel the sexual tension between them and couldn’t wait to see if anything would come of it!

I loved the dialogue, the humor, and the back and forth with Bash and Olivia. This is a book that I raced through in one sitting! I couldn’t put the damn thing down!! The only downside was that I didn’t want it to end and when it did – let’s just say I was scrambling for the Book Two while simultaneously emailing Christine Bell to let her know how much I loved her book and absolutely could not wait to dive into the next one in the series! (Never fear, Books Two and Three are now available)

Overall, a sexy, quick read that had me burning up my kindle with how fast I was turning pages. It was fresh, sweet, and placed Christine Bell on my authors to read list!

In Book 1 I’m pretty sure Bash stole my heart, we all love a knight in shining armor but we love one in a tight t-shirt so much more! Bash swoops in a saves Olivia from one bad situation and that sets the ball rolling in their journey for the next 3 books. Bash is a fighter in every sense of the word. He’s fought his entire life to get somewhere and be someone more than he is. But all that is put into jeopardy when he bumps into one girl. And all his work to keep his eye one the prize is put into jeopardy. Since when does being the good guy have to cost so much? He saves Olivia only to have the whole situation take a false turn and he finds himself in jail. Sometimes power and money can trump all the good things you do in your life.

Fantastic story! I love how this story has been written and the authors excellent choice of words. This is definitely a series I would want to continue reading. This is a 'real' story about bad things happening to good people, sacrifices that needs to be made for the ones you love. Yes you get a glimpse of the good, the bad and the ugly, but you also get to see the real, the love and mix in some sexiness! Loved it!

Great read. The writing totally sucked me in.

We get dual POV - my favorite!!!

This book kept me turning the pages.

Bash is totally yummy. Stand up guy, he saves Olivia when she needs it the most.

Chemistry between these two is off the charts.

BUT ohmigod, what a CLIFFHANGER!!!!!!! That is brutal.

I can't WAIT to read the next book.

Oh sweet Lord.

I liked Olivia, but not completely loved her. At least not in this one.

Bash, on the other hand, loved him. The guy has the shittiest of lucks though, lol.

Andy. Oh Andy, I want him hanged by the balls by the end of the series. JS.

Attempted to read in the Love & College anthology.
DNF before chapter 3. Either this is crap, or I'd well and truly grown numb to the three previous crap stories which preceeded this one..

Olivia's boyfriend Andy has been getting a little crankier than normal, last week he left bruises on her and shook her violently. This time, he pinned her against a wall, punched said wall right next to her face then grabbed her throat. Nightclub worker and hottie Sebastian aka Bash, came to her rescue.

She's an idiot. Andy's rich daddy has made sure Bash is fired and she hasn't actually broken up with him, because her parents are broke... stupid.
Perhaps this would get better for me, but I don't care enough to find out.

Bash and Olivia are from two different worlds. She's privileged, he's trying to make end's meet by boxing and managing a business with his two brothers. Her boyfriend refuses to let her go, so Bash has to cut those ties.

Eh

I didn't like how extremely naive the female character was. I guess it would get better the further I read, but so far not a great first impression.
