The Wolf of My Eye by Terry Spear
Highland Wolf series. #8. Paranormal wolf pack shifter romance. Can be read as a stand-alone but many of the characters are from prior books so better read as part of the series.
Robert Campbell moved to the Highlands of Scotland to be near his sister and her husband. He’s opening a new veterinary clinic there and will be able to help the wolf shifters as well since he is also a medical doctor.
There are a lot of traditions in the Highlands and support from others in the pack. When Robert goes fishing and accidentally snags Maisie MacTavish in the arm when she is taking underwater photos, and then his boat overturns, the pack helps to the rescue. Maisie and Robert fall for each other even as they uncover a murder, search for a lost dog, get stranded by the tide coming in and taking photos of local pets, and farm animals. Maisie also takes pregnancy photos for local couples and reciprocates by buying dresses and plaids for special occasions.
It’s a tight knit community and everyone is thrilled for Robert and Maisie. Now they just need to figure out the murderer and they can put that fishing trip behind them.

Family surrounds both Robert and Maisie as the two get to know each other and the community grows closer even as their numbers grow.
The suspense is very light and almost forgotten as family and pets mix and mingle. A couple from a previous book gets married and the full moon adds a bit of surprise.
Heartwarming and inspiring. Domestic tranquility.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

Robert is relocating his veterinary practice in Scotland to be closer to his family and the pack of wolf shifters. When he goes fishing, he accidentally hooks Maisie, a nature photographer who is in the water. A sudden storm puts their lives at risk, but they manage to return home with only minor injuries. They are very attracted to one another, and wonder if it is too soon for a commitment. The pack is also trying to solve a murder, and some moms-to-be are ready to give birth, so there's a lot going on in this spicy shifter romance. Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for the ARC.

Full transparency, I read to page six and said nope! The main character "catches" a woman/wolf hybrid while fishing? No, thank you. I have better things to read.

I have been waffling on this book. There are parts I enjoyed and other parts I didn't. Having read and enjoyed many of Terry's Silver Town series, I anticipated I would enjoy this book as well. The beginning was a little rough since I had not read any other books in this series so I needed to figure out the players. Then things picked up with the meet not so cute involving a fish hook and near drowning and I thought yep this book is going to be good. This beginning sequence set the tone in my mind for the rest of the story. Some parts of Robert and Maisie's story was fun and other parts were simply long explanations lacking action. The ripping between Robert and the other wolves was also enjoyable but still did not rise to the level of family in the Silver Town books. This book ended up being 3 - 3.25 stars for me because nothing really set it apart or sparked my interest. At times I felt like I needed to force myself to keep going. Overall, I would recommend Terry Spear and the Silver Town series. I will even go so far as to say if you have read the other books in this series perhaps you will enjoy it more than I did. I will probably shy away from this series in the future.
Thanks to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Great addition to a super wolf shifter romance!

Robert is out fishing when he found out he hooked a she-wolf, Maisie who was diving to get pictures of underwater creatures! That was the first of their adventures. Robert is opening a veterinary office, but now is more interested in Maisie. Fortunately, she is as interested in him, but then a couple of mysteries bring more danger into their lives. Can Robert and Masks keep each other safe to get their happy ever after?

The pace is fast and the tone is hopeful with an action and character oriented storyline that has some steamy scenes. The characters are vivid and engaging. I do recommend you read this series in order. That way you get the most from the stories. I like to read the wolf shifter stories in order that they are written no matter which wolf or jaguar shifter series it is. By my count, this is #45 or so for that wolves with a couple novellas squeezed in also. The jaguar shifter series intersects with the wolves, so again I go by when they were published to tie them in. Enjoy these exciting shifter romances that have tons of great characters, lots of action and some fun scenes!

Robert, who has just relocated to be closer to his sister and fulfill his dream of opening a vet clinic. However, while out fishing, he ends up catching more than he bargained for. Enter Maisie, who is out diving and unexpectedly finds herself on the other end of a fish hook—talk about an unusual catch! Both Robert and Maisie are shifters, and their instant attraction adds a delightful spark to the narrative.

The plot thickens when Maisie and her sister, who run a cozy bed and breakfast, stumble upon a wallet belonging to one of Maisie's old flames in their garden. To make matters more intriguing, they discover that a beautifully decorated rock from the garden has gone missing. With the mysteries piling up, these two characters must team up, along with their fellow wolf pack, to unravel the problems plaguing their lives.

There are so many fun characters in this series by Terry Spear, and it's always a joy to read about their adventures. If you’re looking for some lighthearted yet engaging reading, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

This one had quite the first meeting between the couple...talk about the catch of a life time! It seemed once Robert and Masie met, that was it for them. They were smitten and did what they could to spend time together and take advantage of times where they were forced together.

Once they were a couple, the whole clan seemed to chime in on how great of a match it was and to embrace Masie and her family and great additions to the clan.

The drama in the book was a bit crazy and slowly unraveled as time went on. They figured out a great way to draw out the bad guy and it got a bit crazy towards the end. Nice to see how things ended and how everyone was happy and planning their futures.

A beautifully well written tender read.

Robert and Maisie’s shifter love story was fun at times, some action and a mystery that needed to be solved.

We meet lots of the characters from previous books in the series which is always good to revisit and see how their lives are changing.

It did lack a little in the passion and sizzle areas but the tenderness and love which shone through the storyline made up for this.

A wonderful read!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love Terry Spear's books and this one was no exception. This is an awesome series and this book was an exceptional addition. It was well-written with well-developed characters and a fast-paced plot. Terry does an amazing job of pulling you into her world and making you believe that you can meet your own shifter. I was hooked from beginning to end. Terry's books are an automatic read for me. They're definitely a can't-miss. I highly recommend both book and series which I think is best read in order.

This captivating tale is a delicate blend of sweetness, humor, and intrigue. Robert, with his endearingly eccentric personality, experiences a truly charming meet-cute. The story effortlessly incorporates a diverse cast of pack members and newborns from preceding stories. Its seamless flow ensures an enjoyable read, even for those unfamiliar with the series. This beautifully written book is a delightful treat for enthusiasts of heartwarming romances, with Maisie and Robert's chemistry being genuinely believable.

This is a very sweet and light hearted story with a little mystery thrown in. Robert is such a quirky character and he has one of the best cute meets! You have a lot of the other pack members in this story along with the babies arriving from two previous stories. This was a wonderfully written book that you will enjoy, if you love sweet romances. I was given a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Can't even finish this book. Instant love. Not my thing. I tried to give it a chance cause I love werewolves but I'm not into insta love and I can't stand the fact he "hooked her" by a fishing rod. Totally unrealistic.

Another fun Highland Wolf tale. I love the characters and the way they pull together no matter what the occasion.

I've been looking forward to this book since I read the prior book in the series. Unfortunately, this one lagged a bit. Usually, I can't put one of these books down, but this one, at points, just seemed to lag. I'm not sure why, as there was plenty of action, romance, and a unique meet cute.

Fans of the series will enjoy this novel. The author is on my must read authors' list.
