Elle How much can a person take before they shut themselves off? The answer? A lot. After running away from my abusive ex, I settled back in my hometown of Stone Ridge. I kept myself busy, chasing around after my son and opening my dream business. Finally, life was good. Until he walked in. Jaxon Beckett was my very own tattooed teddy bear. With one flash of his panty-melting smile, and one glance into his deep blue eyes, I was drowning. My heart screamed yes, but my head said no. The right thing to do would be to listen to my head, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Can I trust my heart this time around? Or will it once again lead me astray, and shatter my last remaining ounce of trust?
Jaxon Life can be cruel and unpredictable. After losing my mother, and then my father only a few months later from a broken heart, I closed myself off from love. I witnessed what that all-consuming, life-altering feeling could do. I didn’t think I could handle it. Instead, I buried myself in work and meaningless one-night stands. That is until I met her. Elle Davis walked in, blowing my life to smithereens with her sassy mouth and permanent scowl etched on her beautiful face. A scowl that always seemed aimed in my direction. Luckily for her, I’m my father’s son, and will do anything to bring a smile to the lips of the woman who owns my heart and soul. But giving her my heart leaves me vulnerable. Can I trust her to keep it safe?
Wow… this book made me cry so many times. Some of them were happy tears, but mainly it was because this book is so heartbreaking.
Elle and Jaxon’s story is full of love, caring, friendship and kindness. They both have found their family and eventually they found a way to each other. It wouldn’t be a romance book without obstacles and challenges, but this couple fought for their love.
Jayme’s writing is raw and she gives it to the reader as it is. And those are the books I appreciate the most.
I don’t know where to start with this one. Oakley and Jaxons bond makes my heart hurt, they are the sweetest. Then there’s Lola’s growth🥹This book is absolutely everything, from the fmc giving the Mmc a hard time, to them finally giving in to each other.
Elle escapes with her baby, to follow her dreams of opening her own business. Jaxon vows to make her life easier anyway he can whether she knows it or not. You follow them on their journey of grief, growth and love.
All The Little Things by Jayme Louise is book 2 in the Unexpected Love series and I am I love with this book!!
Where do I begin because there was nothing about this book that I did not like. Jayme had me emotional in this book and that’s hard to do. Her writing captured perfectly the struggled of coming out of an abusive relationship and starting over. Elle was hurting and so closed off to letting anyone in. Jaxon was so sweet, protective, and patient. I loved how he patiently waited for her to meet him where he was in how they felt about each other. Not only did I love the MC’s, I loved the side characters as well.
This story was so well written, the plot was amazing, the friendships that turned into family, the banter between all of them was great. I think my favorite part of this book though would have to be bond between Oakley and Jaxon. The way Jaxon loved Oakley like he was his was awesome. However, the way Oakley loved and gravitated towards Jaxon melted my heart. I don’t want to give anything away so please just read this book I promise you that you will fall in love with every single character minus that good for nothing ex-husband. Thank you Jayme for letting me read the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions. I love this book!!
I have waited with bathed breath for Jaxon and Elle's story.
I loved meeting them in Just The Way You Are. As soon as my eyes came across Elle I said: This woman right here is my spirit animal.
Meet Jaxon The Tattooed Teddybear - Jaxon has a gruff exterior, tattoos as far as the eye can see, shaggy hair, and sensational coveralls. But as gruff as his exterior is, as soft and cuddly he is inside. Meet Elle The Caffeinated Mama Bear - Elle, a sexy and curvy momma, has one speed and one speed only: keep her son healthy and happy.
So when carefree Jaxon and wound-tight Elle meet, there's no surprise for anyone to see sparks flying, and a couple of eye-daggers too, because Jaxon is the sledgehammer to crumble to dust the fortress Elle carefully constructed around her.
Tears, smiles, laughs, fans on full speed (cuz my man Jaxon has some moves, dayum. And Elle bring out the... oh well, we're keeping the review PG13, aren't we?)
All The Little Things is a raw story of healing, forgiving, and learning how to allow yourself to not be alone anymore.
Jaxon, wanting a family with everything in him, and so brokenly perfect and afraid to reach for what he wants. It was sad as it was humbling to see his growth and his dedication. Elle, wanting to be strong, and wishing for a safe space to fall apart, and so beautifully prickly as she fights tooth and nail to stand on her own two feet and regain a sense of who she is, not who she was told to be.
One of my favourite reads this year.
I can't wait to see what comes next in the Unexpected Love Series; I believe little miss Sassy is just about to short-circuit an electrician! Bring on the tension. We measure it on "Ahs, and ohs" instead of ampers and volts.
Thank you Jayme, for all the little things that made my eyes tear, my stomach flutter, and the precious details that I hold so near and dear to my heart.
When I tell you how excited I was for this book, after meeting Jaxon in Just the Way you Are. Mitch's goofy, lovable best friend demanded his own story, and boy did Jayme Louise deliver! This ex-playboy is the perfect cinnamon roll mmc - seriously, guard your ovaries, his POV chapters are deadly!
Single-mom Elle is independent, raising her adorable son while she tries to start her dream business. Her connection with Oakley brought tears to my eyes more than once, so did her past, and all the things she overcame. She handles life with a fierce sense of humour, which I absolutely adored, and I was happy to see how Jaxon helped her to escape that protective shell she had hidden behind for so long.
As I learned with Jayme's first book, you're going to be laughing, crying, and fanning yourself as you read. The spice is HOT, you have been warned! While I loved Just the Way you Are, I'm sorry Mitch but I think Jaxon has officially dethroned you, and Book 2 is now my favourite of the series so far!
... At least until Book 3 comes out.
Thank you Jayme for the privilege of reading All The Little Things, I cannot wait to see what you have in store next!
So much to love - jayme Louise's unique brand of humor, the suspense, the sweet children, Jaxon's tats... Elle is a strong woman and a single mother after escaping an abusive marriage. Jaxon saw what love did to his father and thought it made you weak, but it isn't long before he accepts she the one, but her past makes it hard no matter how bad she wants him. It was a well-written and unforgettable story.
So perfect! I absolutely loved everything! The suspense, the emotions, all the deep rooted feelings and the absolute strength each character holds. A beautiful small town! The love was fast and the burn was thick and angsty that when they came together it was on fire!
