Is he a monster...or the man she deserves?

Some men deserve redemption. Some men are worthy of salvation. I'm not one of them.
I've got so much blood on my hands I'll never wash clean.
I've tried to outrun my sins and forget the day I destroyed everything.
I still can't do it.
No matter how far I run, January James haunts me. She was mine long before I knew what that meant. I loved her, protected her…worshipped her.
And in one horrific moment, I destroyed her.
Now, she needs my protection, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
She deserves better than me, but she's mine anyway. It's time to stop running and fight for her.
She's an angel. I'm the devil on her shoulder. And this is my swan song.
When it's over, I'll either be the monster at the end of this book…or I'll be the man she deserves.

Fight for You is a dark romance that can be read as a standalone. Please see the TWs on the author's website prior to reading.

EDIT: THIS IS MY REVIEW ON THIS NEW NICHOLE ROSE VERSION 'FIGHT FOR YOU':
I am so happy to say that when I read this new version, I was relieved that it felt nothing like the old version from AKM Ayden K Morgan (Nicole Rose's old pen name). I was so afraid of the cheating aspect and I am glad to say that there is NO CHEATING in this new version! Thank you Nichole Rose for making this story safe and have our couple remain faithful to one another. That was really my main gripe with the original, and I am so happy to say that Nichole Rose scrapped that and added a good dose of romance and love to swirl around our couple, even when very serious events happen to them.
They are each others one and only, first and last everything (I would consider it a DV, since we get flashbacks of them when they are kids and then when they start to grow up and in their teens, and they were both virgins, each others first everything and in separation remained very faithful).
Safe
No cheating (neither dated, neither got near the opposite sex, neither was interested in moving on, they were super faithful to each other as opposed to the old version)
No OM/OW
Short third act break up (misunderstanding which lead to a week long separation. I think he should have kept an eye on her, but he didn't and I did not like that)
Separation of 7 years (too long)
No gross condom use when they reconnected (they used it when they started to have sex together in their teens)
Lots of push pull (a bit too much of it)
HEA

I will not get into details of what happens in the book, just write my feelings on this book which is very VERY long, but it needed to be long because we needed to feel that Kincaid staying with his January and not leave her again is true and certain. Kincaid leaves for 7 years and never once tries to get news on January, how she is doing none of that, and I have to admit that this part of the book is what I still hate him for. They were both around 22 years old, and now are 28/29 years old when they reconnected, so still young. He cowardly ran and never turned back, thinking that the death of her brother/his best friend and another loved one of January's, was his fault. She did yell at him that she wants nothing to do with him and blames him for everything, but she didn't mean it. I do understand that they both felt grief and hurt and blame themselves, and I understand that the crux of the story is a second chance at them finding one another again after 7 years, but for me second chance romances aren't my cup of tea, because he abandoned her. He left her when he promised never to do that, and she was hurt and a shell of her former self because he left and she had to mourn alone and deal with drug gangs alone. So that is the main thing I did not like about Kincaid and I still think of him as a coward, because he protected others during his stay in Seattle, but the one person, the single most important person to him, the one he shared everything with, his most intimate self with, he abandoned, never hearing from her again, even avoiding her because it hurts to think of her even though she is all he thinks about. Worse is he left her in gang riddled LA, so he left her in danger. I also did not like that he came back to LA on mission to look for someone else (not an OW, just another character that needed to be rescued), which tells me that he did not come back for January, and if not for his mission, I don't think he ever would have come back to her. In this NR version we may have thankfully avoided a cheating coward, but he still remains a coward and his love was strong enough to be faithful, but not strong enough to go back to her.
So those are all the things I hated, but I did love that he was truly loving and wanting to stay in LA with January when he laid eyes on her again. I loved that they instantly reconnected with passion, facing each other, forcing him to tell her why he left and him meakly wanting to give her everything and beg for forgiveness. I loved that he covered himself in tattoos of things reminding him of her. I loved that he did fight for her, regretting leaving her. I loved that they both remained super faithful to one another, neither wanting to move on, or even trying to. THAT is mainly what got me to like the story more and forgive more. He never even thought of another woman, all he did was jerk off to thoughts of January, and she never even thought of dating or other men, she only went out with her best friend (a woman) to have a few drinks and occasionally go to the movies. That is really the main change from the original that made this story easier to read, and easier to immerse myself into. I think they are broken, they always will be, even with the happy sunshiny epilogue with their HEA, which I believe in, there is still that looming cloud above them and even though they both accept that him leaving, abandoning the love of his life is just part of their story, I still cannot forgive it. That does not mean that I think he will leave her again, I believe he is here to stay with her, and that is very hard to convince me when the hero abandons the heroine for years, and yet, I believe him when he swears never to leave her again. But that looming cloud of that time apart will always be there, which left me saddened. Again, I believe he loves her, enough that he remained faithful, and strong enough for him to stay this time, but it was not strong enough for him to go to her on his own terms, and was weakened to the point of abandoning her with the knowledge that he would never go back to her. That part is the looming cloud of sadness that I cannot see past.
Had I not read the original, and known how sad and bleak this story would be, I would have avoided it, but I am glad that I read it, as it swatted the narly, nasty hand of AKM, and replaced it with the soothing hand of Nichole Rose, taking my own guiding me through the story. It replaced the ugly version of this story, into a love story that had me turning the pages with fervor. The romance and love was there, the Nichole Rose sweetness was there, thankfully as I was so afraid it would be absent like it was in the original, and that made the reading experience better.
I started to see AKM fade into obscurity, and the sweetness of a Nichole Rose romance soothe my bleeding heart whenever a heart wrenching moment would occur in the book. I still like the happy happy rom coms of Nichole Rose the best, because my heart just cannot take so much sadness and grief (there is already so much of it in real life that I try to stay away from the dark, sad, heavily emotional love stories), but I am glad that it was very different from the original. They were super faithful and still in love with each other before, during their separation and after they reconnected. We really did need the book for it to be well over 350 pages in order to feel that, yes, I think they will be ok and have a future together, and I am convinced that he will not abandon her again. Kincaid is here to stay with his little monster (January) this time.
It is long, heartbreaking, heavy, a tearjerker, emotionally heightened, but it is wrapped in a cushion of Nichole Rose signature romance and love with a happy, sweet HEA that I enjoyed and was very much needed. The fact that they were each others first, last and only everything and super faithful to each other, never even a fleeting thought of moving on, again, is what saved this love story for me. I could not stop turning the pages, I was invested and I am so relieved and glad that Nichole Rose is here to stay, and hoping that AKM fades into obscurity. I don't think I will read the rest of the series, because my heart can't take heavy reads like this. If the rest of the books are safe stories, with DV couples with no cheating and no OM/OW drama, then I might give it a chance, but I will wait for reviews to make sure. Otherwise, I will avoid them.
Below are thoughts of what I thought of the original AKM version of the story (which was not safe and had cheating), that I wrote a few months ago, and I will leave it to remind myself of the differences between the two. That is the end of my review on this new version. I am so glad that my question on whether we would get the AKM cheating coward, or the worthy NR hero was answered. I am glad to say that Nichole Rose prevailed!
Normally I end my review wishing everyone happy reading, but I am left in a state of melancholy, but I still have a sad, little smile on my tear stained face. Still, happy reading everyone.

THIS IS THE REVIEW ON THE ORIGINAL AKM VERSION OF THE STORY I READ A FEW MONTHS AGO, NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS NEW NR VERSION. I am keeping so I can compare the two versions.

Brief overview of the Ayden K Morgen version, it is bleak, it is depressing and it is was NOT safe, there was cheating, there was 10 year separation, the hero is a pussy, the heroine tried to date (don't know how far she went), the hero tried to fuck OW during their separation but as soon as his dick was out he stopped
Quote,
"How could she not know she's the only woman I've ever loved? How can she think for even a second that I'd want anyone else? I tried. For years, I tried to forget her and move on. As soon as I'd have my dick out, her face would flash through my mind, and I couldn't do it. No matter how wasted I got, she was always right fucking there. It was her face I saw, her body I wanted. Her name I called out when I jerked off."
THAT IS STILL CHEATING! He still got hard, and how far did he go before he whipped his dick out?? There must have been spit swapping, groping, dry humping, clothes coming off, his dick comes out to play and then he stops. When he says it was her face I saw, her body I wanted, that was when he was in the middle of trying to fuck another woman! He tried to fuck plenty of them for years! That made me SO mad! And then he says, how could she think there was another woman? BECAUSE THERE WAS!! So when he tells her there was no one else, he fucking lied!
The book was doomed the moment he turned his back and left her for 10 years. It was filled with angst, far too much angst, and I did not feel the love between them. It withered when he abandoned her and died when they tried to move on with other people. The dreaded Ayden K Morgen is resurfacing under a new pen name, Nichole Fallon and I am so worried we will loose the sweetness, the romance, the swoon worthy MMC's that fight for each other and stick to each other like glue. Even the safety factor is in question.
I am still curious to see how she plans on rewriting it. Are we getting the Nichole Rose hero and heroine we know and love? Or are we getting the cheating coward? We shall see when the new version comes out.

3/5 a beautiful second chance romance

It’s been seven years since I last set eyes on her. Seven years since I destroyed her and ripped my own damn heart out.

TROPES:
-childhood friends to lovers
-they’re each other’s one and only 💗
-second chance (7 year separation)
-gangs/MC/mafia

This was an emotional read, but I enjoyed it. I usually don’t pick second chance books because I hate the separation in them but this was done so well.

Cade met January when he was 7 and she was 4. That’s when he became best friends with her brother, Titan. The two of them do everything in their power to protect her from their shitty, poverty-ridden neighborhood. Ever since he was a kid, a man named Kaleo has wanted him to join his gang. He’s the bad one in this story but trust me, he gets what’s coming to him by the end.

This book is told in flashbacks, something else I don’t like. But the flashbacks to their childhood was beautiful, innocent, and sweet.

This book starts off with Cade, 29, a DEA agent, living in Seattle. 7 years ago he lost his true love January, who lives in LA. But when he finds out she’s in trouble (cue Kaleo) he immediately goes to her side.

They had an argument 7 years ago that pushed them apart, and Cade is holding a big secret from January. They fight and argue but still love each other. The hate sex was great!

This book deals with tough subjects like suicide, but it’s done well. You can feel the love the main characters have for each other within every page. I enjoyed it.

Why the 3 stars? It was too long, for one. It should’ve been condensed because it dragged in some places. Also… the spice wasn’t spicing. 😭 The first few sex scenes were great but it got repetitive quickly. There’s lots of riding in this book and I just wasn’t a fan. 🫠

I say give this a try if you like second chance romances. Their love story is beautiful. Their trauma is beautiful. I just wish it had a bit… more. I also feel incredibly ripped off because there was no flashback to their first time!! 😭

SAFETY:
-dual virgins, but we don’t get to see the first time they had sex. They are each others one and only, even during the 7 year separation.
-no OM/OW except for slight OW in childhood
-no cheating
-triggers: depression, grief, PTSD, trauma, suicide attempt. gun and gang violence, murder, sexual assault, attempted kidnapping, child abuse, human trafficking, violence against women.
-kinks: rough sex, breath play, praise kink
-HEA? yes, it’s beautiful 🥺💗

(4 Stars)

Coming back after seven years, Cade thought he could do what needs to be done and not see January in the process. When that doesn't pan out and he does indeed see her and in fact saves her (one of many savings), all the feelings he has kept down slam into him and he is reminded of just how much he loves her and misses her. But he also knows he is not good for her and is determined to end the threat to her and then walk away again. What happens when January makes it known that she has been waiting for him, missing him just as much as he has her?

If you are looking for puppies and rainbows, this is not that story. We get some drama, but mostly loads of danger and violence, and naughty bits that were steaming hot. I give this 4 stars.

Honestly, this blew me away. It was intense, it was emotional and it was so good. January and Cade’s story is heartbreaking, and yet beautiful all at once. The emotions in this story are just so strong as is their fight for one another. This is definitely one of my favorites from Nichole.

I have been sitting on this review for about three weeks now. I was lucky enough to get to beta read this and I have been anticipating its release. I can't wait for you all to fall in love with Cade and January and their amazing story.

You know, I thought I'd read plenty of epic love stories over the years. No. I have not. This. This is the MOST epic of love stories I have EVER read. Hang on tight for a rollercoaster of emotions. I cried a lot while reading this. Cade and January have been through the ringer. He's back to protect her from an enemy of their past. Things are different. It's been 7 years since they have seen each other. But you know what? They never stopped loving each other. They are each other's end, beginning and everything game. There is no one else for these two. And I absolutely loved that fact. Nichole brings us through their past while dealing with their present and it was so well done. The past memories are absolutely needed for this. We have to know where they started and what happened. This is a dark romance. There are going to be dark, bad and violent things happening. These two grew up in a rough neighborhood in LA. Cade's only goals in life were to love and protect January. In their past things go wrong that hurt and tore them apart. But love like this doesn't die. It is forever. Their love is palpable. Their chemistry is beyond explosive. They are forever. You feel it all while reading their story. You feel their hurt. You feel their joy. You feel their love. You feel everything. Cade was everything I would ever want in a MMC. He has been obsessed with January since he was 7. He has always felt connected to her. January was amazing too. She didn't see herself as strong. She is resilient. She's been through so much but she's still standing. She might be bruised but she is a survivor. The secondary characters were all awesome. I especially loved her bestie, Mariah. I hope we see her again. Of course, Roman Gregory was in this and I already loved him. Luke and Octavio were incredible too. They were surrounded by so many good people. Well, other than Kaleo. Lol. In the end, I was so freaking happy and emotionally spent. But every page was worth it and then some. I didn't think Nichole could top Mister Gregory or any of her other amazing books. Fight for You is officially my favorite and her absolute best.

I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Cade /Agent Michael Kincade is literally a warrior since he was a kid and only his baby girl January calls him Cade. January is a teacher and she has amazing best friend Mariah (hope she gets a story too) who gives her the wisdom she needs. AND she gave Cade so wisdom when he needed it most & kick up ass...no spoilers

They are childhood sweet hearts and their past is full of darkness and heartache that everyone fears most. The town they live in is not very safe and no one gets put of the town to male a name for themselves. Apart from Cade who makes a reputation of himself in the police force and everything gang crime they fear him. He is the monster you send to take on other monsters

"I don't see Michael anymore. I killed him little by little, smothering him beneath years of hard living. I'm Kincaid now…the only son of a bitch crazy enough to stroll into the middle of gang territory and declare himself judge, jury, and executioner."

This is no ordinary story. It's about reuniting two soulmates and both they need to talk about the past that left a mark on their hearts and souls. They have been handling the pain on their own and they finally learn taking it on togther makes the burden alot less painful.

Do not worry it's not all action, suspense and spicy scenes. There are so many characters and brilliant banter that eases the heartache of the push & pull of Cade & January ♥️

"We can don our armor and pick up our weapons again later. But for five minutes, I just want to hold him and grieve. We never even got to do that. Not really. Everything was so fucked up back then."

I need to know Tristian & Lillian story. These two are Cade's best friends and the one that gave him the badge...no spoilers. Lillian is like a sister to him and Tristian's wife and they both cams back from a crazy & dangerous mission. I need their story ASAP 😅 Yes there is a few characters that I want more of and I just want to learn more about Cade's friends & teammates

Michael “Cade” Kincaid, broken, a man who lost everything in one night. Michael, he would have gladly given his own life to protect those he loved, and he failed. He could not protect his best friend, his brother, if not by blood, but by choice. Michael swore as a boy he would protect January, his best friend’s little sister, he failed. He failed at protecting the ones he loved!! Michael swore, that he if could not protect the ones he loved, he would protect others. But when Cade was told that the one person he loved more than life itself was in trouble, he knew that nothing would stop him this time.
January James, a woman who lost everyone she loved, her beloved brother, Titan and the man who she had given her heart, body and soul to, Cade. January would never give up her home to the drug dealer who wanted to take over her street. She would protect it with her life. January was hurting, she wanted to live a peaceful life, but her heart would not let go, not let go of the past or of Cade. When Cade walked back into her life, her emotions took over, and she was angry, scared, joyous, thrown back to a terrible time in her life.
Fight For You is a much different book than this who have read any of Nichole Rose’s books. It has dark themes, and it has to be stated, check your triggers, there are scenes of violence, SA, CA, unaliving oneself, violence against women, and others. This book is magnificently written, and Nichole Rose wrote characters that I felt, I felt their pain, I felt their joy. I loved this book, I cried, and felt my heart shattered, and my heart heal. I have re-read this book twice and I know I will be reading Fight For You again. “There are no heroes here. There is just Cade.”

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is one intense read. You need to buckle up before diving in to this book. It is the story of January and Cade. This is one of those stories that is going to put you through every emotions known to man to get to where we need to go. The ride is not always easy. IT is intense and at times a little depressing. But don't lay it down. This will come to light and you will love reading this book just as much as I did. January and Cade have been though so much. My heart soared for them, broke for them and then I was on edge. He is back and he is going to protect her not matter what he has to do. There is an enemy in the picture that was once upon a time in their past. He can't let this stand and Cade won't let it stand. These two have not seen each other in seven long hard years. But the one constant is that neither one of them never stopped loving the other. However, you just can't pick up and things be the way they were seven years ago. The best things in life are the ones you have to fight for. We get to see their past while they are dealing with the present. These two are not little back woods had an easy life growing up. They were born and raised in LA in the darker parts of the city. They are survivors. These two are soul mates. All Cade ever wanted to do was love January and protect her from all the evil in the world. That stands true even seven years later. Soul mates only come around once in a lifetime. Though in the danger and you are rooting for these two the entire book. They have some absolutely amazing chemistry that will have your kindle heating up. You do not want to miss this book.

Wow. Just….wow. I think this may be the best Nichole Rose book for me hands down. If you read the book previously, I would encourage to reread the rerelease. I don’t normally cry during books, but this one had so many raw emotions you could feel it coming off the pages. I definitely cried a few times, but this book is everything. I didn’t pick up another book for a few days after reading this, I just had to sit with it for a bit, it was that good. It does touch on suicide attempts, mental health, attempted SA, etc so watch the trigger warnings. But the love in this book was palpable. Everything Cade did, every decision he made was because of his unconditional love for January. He loved her since he was 7 and there was never anyone else for him or for her. This book felt real in so many ways and showed their growth as people and in their relationship. Cade is my all time favourite MMC. He had so many layers to him, he was funny, a complete badass and he loved so fiercely. He led a hard life, but protected everyone around him and became an incredible man. January was loved by everyone, incredibly sweet, but struggled with mental health and was a very real and relatable character. Honesty adored this book and will be rereading over and over. It is a darker book and touches on some very real but dark subjects, but it sticks with the no OM/OW while together or apart, no cheating, they were each others firsts and only’s, HEA and an epilogue in the future. All I can say is, well done, this book was incredible! I’m excited to read Hernandez’s book next and see what the other characters have in store.

I understand this is a re-release, but as I didn't have the pleasure of reading it the first time round my opinions are based solely on what I've read in fight for you.
I've been a fan of Nicole's work for a while, I love her instalove, curvy female leads, and alpha males. Fight for you however has changed that for me. I love her writing even more, I felt engaged with this, her characters were put through the ringer, and everything written had a purpose nothing was just to pad out the book and drag out the story everything hit hard and had meaning.
Cade is definitely a morally grey hero, but with the best of intentions when it comes to January. You can tell that out of everything she is the one thing that will bring him to his knees , they are both each other's beginning, middle and end. And while their relationship is 100% not plain sailing, its a truthful one that shows highs and lows rather than a sugar coated everything is OK.
Nichole has taken her time and put so much thought into this, as the acknowledgements say this is very much her life woven through this story.
Cade and January are well thought out characters, each with their own character arc which keeps them as independent characters. While simultaneously bringing them together.
I loved it, so much and we do get a "happy ending" (grateful by the way) it was a brilliant read and one I would do again.
5/5 stars, Nichole has smashed it and I'm so happy I got to read this.

Fight for You" by Nichole Rose, writing as Nichole Fallon, is a powerful re-release that takes readers on a dark, emotional journey filled with heartache, danger, and the complexities of second chances. This intense story of January and Cade, offering a raw and gripping narrative that delves deep into the pain of love lost and the struggle to reclaim it.

The story follows Cade, a dark hero who has already faced unimaginable loss. Seven years ago, his world was shattered, but now he’s determined to ensure history doesn’t repeat itself. As Cade fights to protect what he holds dear, readers are drawn into a tale of passion, danger, and the undeniable pull of destiny. Nichole Rose masterfully crafts a narrative that is more than just a romance; it's an epic journey of love, redemption, and resilience.

The emotional depth of "Fight for You" is matched by its intense and suspenseful plot, making it a page-turner from start to finish. The characters are richly developed, their pain and longing palpable, and their love story is as beautiful as it is heartbreaking. The stakes are high, and the emotional rollercoaster is relentless, but it all culminates in a heartfelt and satisfying epilogue that will leave readers deeply moved.

If you're prepared to embark on a dark and emotional journey, "Fight for You" is a must-read. Nichole Rose delivers a story that is as gripping as it is touching, proving that love, no matter how lost, is always worth fighting for.

Excruciating pain runs through Cade when Roman says her name. Seven years. Seven years since their world fell apart. Seven years since she told him she hated him, to leave and never come back. Seven years of guilt because he is the reason their world crumbled.

Seven years of holding a secret that could destroy them for good.

I loved this story! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This book is highly emotional and will hit all your feels so have those Kleenex ready.

Cade fought hard to stay out of gang life growing up but that didn't stop it from destroying everything he had so he fought back. He became the cop that the gangs and cartels feared. He did everything in his power to keep the innocent safe... everything.

Cade and January's story is action-packed and full of danger as he returns home to finally rid their neighborhood of a threat and fight his demons. January is a kindergarten teacher who refuses to leave her home and is determined to fight to keep her neighborhood and school safe.

This book is smoking hot and highly emotional as both Cade and January fight their demons of guilt and try to piece back the shattered parts of their hearts. This is the first time I have read anything by this author, but I hope not the last. Definitely a one-click author.

Highly recommend!

Michael “Cade” Kincaid moved into Ma Lucia’s house when he was seven. Ma Lucia was his mother’s nanny when she was little. When she found out the Cade was in a group home after his mother died, Ma Lucia went and brought him home to her house. Titan James lived next door and they became best friends. Titan’s little sister January was four years old at the time. Cade has always felt he had to protect and take care of January. Then tragedy strikes and Cade leaves Los Angeles. That was seven years ago.

Cade, now 29, is a federal agent living in Seattle. He and his partner, Tristan Riley are in Los Angeles because Tristan’s wife was kidnapped by the cartel. Luckily, they were able to save her. Roman Gregory, who is based in Los Angeles, comes to Cade to tell him that January needs his help. Curtis Kaleo wants to rule the block her house is on and take over the park down the street, but January is not budging. Cade has not seen January since she told him to leave and that she hated him seven years ago. He still loves her but doesn’t think he deserves another chance with her.

I felt so bad that both Cade and January were each torturing themselves during the seven years they were apart. This was an incredible story from start to finish.

This is a very emotional story told through the eyes of Michael Kincaid and January James. The story tells of the first meet as kids. January was 4 and Cade 7ish. He was smitten from the moment her saw her. He vowed to always protect her. He would scorch the earth for her.

Cade had a tough exterior but a heart of gold when it came to January. She had he wrapped around her finger from the age of 4 and it didn’t change as they got older. He read books to her, dressed for Halloween and protected her from the dangers in the neighborhood. He was always there for her until tragedy pulled them apart.

Valentine was a sweet girl. Spoiled and protected by her brother and Cade. She loved Cade from the moment she met him. She followed him and her brother everywhere. As they grew up and fell in love, all her dreams were coming true until tragedy struck.

7 years later he is back to protect her again. They are both a mess. Surviving but not really living. Their journey is emotional, traumatic and eventually cleansing. Their love was a messy but powerful. It was written in his tattoos for her to see.

By the end of this story, the reader will experience every emotion available.

I honestly don't even know where to start with this one. I love a good dark romance and this ticked every one of my boxes. Please make sure you read the TW. This book may not be for everyone and the author is extremely open about why that is within the TW.
This story made me feel so much. And I don't say that lightly. The raw pain and gut wrenching turmoil that January and Cade experience feels like a living thing. This story was personal, and visceral, and so damn beautiful. Definitely be prepared to cry. But fear not, there is a HEA, though the characters have to work hard and deal with all of their emotional baggage to get there. I think that's why I appreciated this story so much. Real life is often messy, full of grief and heartbreak, and for some of us, it's hard to not let the darkness swallow us whole. But if you work through, there is so much good waiting on the other side. I feel like January and Cade encompass that truth and shine brightly while doing it. If you want a story to make you feel all the emotions, and give you hope for peace and more, this is it. Well done and I cannot wait to read the others in this series.

OH MY HEART😭🔥🩷 Please check trigger warnings before you read this!!!!

To say I love this book is an understatement!!! Once I started I couldn’t put it down! I haven’t cried so much in a book before now😭 You FEEL EVERY SINGLE EMOTION January and Cade are feeling!! These two have been through some shiznit, together and separately.
Brother’s best friend, Childhood sweethearts, these two are true soulmates!
My heart completely broke for what January and Cade had to go through!!! Grief, survivors guilt and so much more, just ALL THE FEELS😭
I can personally relate to both January and Cade and some of the things they went through or felt at times. The chemistry between them is so far off the charts and when they are together it is HOT AF🔥🔥🔥 The smexy times between them are so freaking delicious and spicy 🥵
January is just as bada** as Cade is! They are both fiercely protective of each other it had me swooning!!!
The side characters are some of my favorites and I can’t freaking wait for their stories!!!
This is by far my favorite book by Nichole and that’s saying something because I love ALL of her books!!!! Thank you for this phenomenal story! Highly highly recommend it 🩷🩷🩷

First let me say..read the CA and the dear reader in the front of the book!!
If you are looking for a light, fun and easy read, this is NOT the book to read!! If your looking for a book that's dark and emotional, grab this one. This isn't a regular Nichole book, this is different but so d@mn good.
I've thought about 3 words that would describe this book and I've come up with heartbreak.. Determination..and forgiveness.
They are all the best way I could describe this story.
I loved Cade and January.. Cade is a tortured soul. He was a good man who had seen and done bad things but the bad things he did were to protect other people. January is lost in the world. She doesn't really know how to live her life. She just works and comes home.
This book broke my heart but it put it back together by the end. It is a book that made me cry and Im not an emotional reader. I could just feel the emotions the characters felt. Nichole wrote an unexpected story because its so different from her normal but I honestly loved it. So thank you Nichole for sharing this somber but exceptional story with us!!

First I want to thank my book buddy Nichole for recommending this book. Next I want to thank the author, Nichole, for delivering such a phenomenal book. This book was one of my absolute favorites & for so many reasons. I loved, LOVED, that Cade & January were each other’s first & ONLY’s. Since she was 4 & he was 7, they only saw each other. Even during the 7 years apart, there was no one else. Their relationship & love was such a special & beautiful thing. So many emotions ran through me when I was reading this book. It was beautiful, heartbreaking, gut wrenching, & very steamy. Cade & January’s story is anything but smooth & easy. It’s rough, bumpy, tragic, dark, & sad, but it’s those elements in a stories that make it so much more satisfying in the end. To see 2 people like Cade & January, who share a past like they do, come back together again was just epic. There was absolutely nothing that man wouldn’t do for her, & the way he loved her f/a child through a teenager & into a man was beyond beautiful & how every woman wants to be loved.
This was such an incredible book & I can’t recommend it enough!

This book!
Guys!
This book!

I couldn't put it down!

Was it an easy, fluffy light-hearted read?
No! This is not that kind of book

This was raw, this was painful this was beautiful in a way that makes your heart bleed right along with Cade and January, you literally walked this journey with them, you didn't just sit here and read about it.

Fuck man! The tough choices they all made, the hard truths, the guilt and the devastation ...

But the love they had for each other, though?

It was incredible to witness, they loved each other even though they hated themselves.
And when they realised that they could live and love and prosper despite all the heartache and guilt and darkness, and they made their way back to themselves so that they could be together as whole, it was so damn fucken beautiful.

It's late, but this book isn't one of those read a couple chapters at a time kind of books, it literally, from the first page, sunk it's teeth into me, and I had no choice, I absolutely had to finish it.

I'm so glad I did! It was worth it.

Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes. Kincaid and January have a long history. They were in love 7 years ago and tragedy struck and Kincaid left and never came back. I will say I hate when miscommunication causes something like that. It was obvious they were both hurting but they both thought the other did not want them around anymore. Fast forward to 7 years later and they are strangers. It was obvious that they both had feelings that never went away.

I like the story but this is not for a reader who is looking for some perfect love story. They both did things they regret. There were things that happen that made me not like either one of them but in the end I was glad that they finally got back to each other.
Thank you for the ARC!

**This is an ARC review for my honest opinion**

If you have read Mister Gregory and you liked that just imagine that but ten times deeper. This is not like the Illicit Love series this comes with a disclaimer. If you have possible triggers then this book is not for you. It was good I did cry a little bit but Cade and January's story was dangerous and beautiful at the same time. The growth you get with them through each chapter had me invested into what was to come next. This was a really good read it's kinda long so don't start looking for a quick read because this isn't it. Five out of five I would recommend this book to a friend who I know this wouldn't trigger them in any way.

This is Michael / Cade and January’s story.
One decision and Cade’s life was changed forever, losing the only women he ever loved in the process. When January becomes the target of an enemy, Cade will do whatever he must to keep her safe and protected.
This is a well written action packed, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, drama, angst, danger, suspense, intrigue, secrets, survival, violence, guilt, palpable chemistry, second chances, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, haunting, unpredictable, and tragic, dark romance.
I look forward to reading more from this author whose work recommend.

I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was such an amazing story. It was probably the most emotional story I’ve ever read from this author and it really moved me profoundly. I loved the structure of the book with the story being told both in the present and in the past, not knowing exactly how the past went down made it have a deeper impact when you found out. Cade and January had such a strong bond and they really had to overcome so much to get a HEA. I think that January is my favorite book heroine because she felt so real and I understood some of her struggles because they have also been mine and we both overcame them.

Such a tragic story!

Cade and January have been through a lot. Cade's young life was tragic and after fighting for so long to keep himself and his best friend and the love of his life, safe, he finds himself alone and fighting for so much more.

A second chance at the life they were fighting for has presented itself, but will they both be able to put aside the hurt, tragedy, and pain that they've lived with for so long now? I loved this story and the characters were great! January and Cade's story is tragic, but also redeeming. It may take a bit for them to find their way back into each others arms, but once they do there's no one that can stand in their way.

Fight For You is a slightly different read from Nichole Rose but still a great one.

If you're looking for sunshine and rainbows this is not for you.

This was a very intense read packed with emotion.

The story between the two MCs is heartbreaking and their journey to their HEA is not easy. This book will have your emotions all over the place.

Filled with steamy bits, drama, and some violence you won't want to put this book down.

I received an ARC copy and am voluntarily leaving my HONEST review.

Too long. Redundant and had a lot of unnecessary filler information. I skimmed A LOT and it still took me days to finish. I really struggle with romances that are over 400. I did like the story though. Loved that they were both celibate. 7 year separation is way too long IMO. Unnecessarily long in this situation. A lot of miscommunication and " the deaths were my fault.... no they were my fault"... all to realize 85% of the way through it was her brothers fault 🤦‍♀️ so yeah. Had some stuff i like but also many of my pet peeves unfortunately.

I'm very disappointed. I have always been a big fan of Nichole Rose. She is one of my top 5 authors. I love her books no cheating n how safe it is. That's what draws me to her work plus other things. She has been one of my safe reading , my go to authors for love . I'm jus disappointed about the H . He truly didn't care for the h . He cared more about others n missions than her. It hurt my heart knowing this H was irredeemable in my eyes. Now I'm second guessing my self. I felt bad for the h ..she deserved a better H . It bothers me to rate this a 1 star bc that's never happened.
