Rate this book
A powerful businesswoman, a yak farm, and a cowboy collide in a mountain town...

Stacy Timmons doesn’t know why a distant relative left her a ranch in the middle of nowhere, but she’s determined to sell the place as soon as possible. She has a great life as a bank executive in Chicago, and she would never consider leaving her beloved hometown… Or would she?

After high school, broken-heart Tyler Bennington moved away from his hometown of Friendly. He wanders aimlessly through life until he finally realizes that there is no place like home. Upon his return, Tyler finds himself lost and unsure of what the future will bring. That’s when he stumbles into a “fancy lady” from the city.

When a free book shows up with the same basic plot outline as the unhinged Hallmark pastiche you and the group chat put together one evening, you download it for funsies.

Will there be a secret enclave of werebison? Probably not. But there is a yak farm.

I need to stop downloading the free kindle books… did anyone even edit this book? I feel as if I could have written a better book than this one. Stacey and Tyler were fine, I had no issue with either of their characters overall and I’m glad they fell in love; but the story was just so silly and rushed it wasn’t even enjoyable. If you’re looking for something brainless and absolutely no spice (not even a kiss) then this is the book for you. Keeping with my theme of unhinged book reviews for 2025, this one is also getting a 2/5 stars ⭐️ from me.

A successful black female bank executive goes to a small town to sell her deceased aunt's property and decides to stay for an unemployed 30 year old that lives with his parents.

If you can look past that and continue reading you will find a book that is rushed, riddled with typos, and has subplots that serve absolutely no purpose to the main storyline.

That's gonna be a no from me, dawg.

This book was definitely giving Hallmark movie vibes but it wasn’t executed very well.

This story has heart And good characters

I enjoyed the characters They were not perfect,, they were just down to earth. The insecurities of the main character Were a good quality the author wrote into him it made the story work. The strong business woman coma coma was exactly the opposite of him But deeper in her heart she was the same as him. Well I gave Well I gave this a little rating the storyline was A good story line 1 that I enjoyed but In 2 different places in the book The same lines were repeated So I read 2 chapters twice And later on 2 chapters twice again. So I would recommend There be a lot of editing redundant to this book...

middle of nowhere.
Tyler’s dream is to be an actor but after several years doing just commercials, he feds up with all the problems he had and gets back home to Friendly.
This is a slow clean romance that I enjoyed a lot.

Frozen Cowboy (Friendly Valley #1) has a good plot. However, a couple of things - twice, chapters were repeated in the book (more toward the end). The last few chapters were all in bold (which drove me nuts). And, the end felt hurried.

I also would have liked to know how Stacy reacted to it, which was never resolved.

Cute

This was one of those typical romances with a few unique characteristics. Hometown boy has heartbreak and moves away just to come back years later. Family member's death brings big city girl to country town. Throw in a couple weird and sort of unfinished twists, yaks, and a quick dislike to romance to wedding relationship, and that's the story.

i don't typically rate DNFs, but this was SO bad editing wise it feels justified. several chapters were the same twice in a row, lots of errors in general and some chapters were in bold for no reason at all.

The rest of the book weren't great either, but would probably have finished it if not for the obvious lack or editing.

Have a plan and work it

Interesting how two completely different backgrounds find each other and begin to live a live they both dreamed of. Cowboy and a vice president of a bank made things happen.

This book was ok. It definitely needs to go through editing because chapter 13 and 14 are the exact same chapter. The characters didn’t have enough chemistry buildup, there wasn’t even kissing. Everything felt rushed and really complete to the book.

A quick easy read that I really enjoyed. A meeting of a couple from completely different lives who made it work because of love.

Okay

Good but super predictable and every single character had the same voice. Some editing and more conversational dialogue would have gone a long way.

How two different people with different backgrounds meet and end up getting what they actually need makes this book worth the read.

My first cowboy romance and it fell flat. The characters were so one dimensional and the book felt rushed. There were a lot of typos and the dual POV got confusing but I never knew when they switched. The idea was cute but not executed how I would have wanted.
