THERE IS A RISING PAGAN THREAT TO THE CHURCH AND AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE.
Pastor Lucas Miles, bestselling author of Woke The False Messiah Destroying Christianity, delves into the alarming resurgence of pagan ideologies within the United States, posing significant threats to the church, the nation, and the world.
Unveiling the complex interplay between ancient beliefs and modern society, The Pagan Confronting America’s Godless Uprising meticulously exposes the inherent dangers that challenge the core fabric of our faith and civic unity. From exposing an evolving techno paganism to blatant idol worship, Pastor Miles navigates the intricate terrain of safeguarding the nation and the pulpit against the rising tide of paganism.
The Pagan Threat serves as an insightful guide, a warning and a call-to-action, urging readers to understand, confront, and ultimately fortify the foundations of their faith and the principles that define our great nation, and is a necessary work to prepare God’s people for what comes next in a society experiencing moral and spiritual decline.
If you enjoy assuming everyone who is slightly different than you is Pagan, well, this is the book for you.
This book, which proudly mirrors the irrational fear-mongering of the Satanic Panic, does nothing to accurately present the subjects it talks about. Abortion? Pagan. Gay people? Pagan. Democrats? Pagan. Wanting to protect the environment? Pagan. Acknowledging the complex history of Christianity and critiques against using the Bible as a bludgeoning tool? PAGAN!
Everything, it seems, is Pagan. Or Marxist. Or *Feminist*! Nothing is given any nuance, nothing is complex, and nothing overlaps. The book works in absolutes, refusing to be even slightly generous to anything perceived as opposition. Why is being Pagan/Marxist/Gay/Feminist/Trans/etc bad? Uh…because it’s super bad, man, duh! Much like other ‘Panic’ books I’ve read, this is used to stir up division and stoke fears.
It should be noted that ultimately, this book is an advertisement for TPUSA- A multi-million dollar organization that works as a conservative propaganda machine. Being a Christian is simply not enough, you must also be under the TPUSA brand of Faith(tm) to properly Worship(tm). Why do any thinking or research on your own when these men have already done it for you?
All pastors and priests need this book! It describes really well all of the quickly metastasizing pagan threats to the church. But, more importantly, ends with solutions that churches and individual Christians can implement to combat these within and outside of the church.
The dedication immediately grabbed my attention. “To the faithful- those who refuse to bow to Baal.” I was hooked immediately. And next came the foreward by Charlie Kirk: “Casual Christians like to imagine we have already won a permanent victory over the worshipers of Moloch, Baal, and Jupiter, but those gods are now back with a vengeance bearing new names like “progressivism,” “tolerance,” and “social justice.” And just like the old Pagans, its ultimate agenda is domination and moral anarchy. Thankfully, people like Lucas (author) realize the danger and are fighting back. They are fighting with a true vision of Christianity- one that isn’t always polite and isn’t always “nice,” but is always on fire for the Lord and His truth. This book will not always be a comfortable read. It’s not pleasant to realize that our faith and our way of life are in danger. Denial is always more pleasant in the moment. But if you are willing to open its pages with a heart tuned to the Holy Spirit, it will also equip you and embolden you to see clearly, speak truthfully, and stand firmly in the face of darkness. We have a faith and a country to save.” I was excited to keep reading. Here are my notes on what I felt were the most important takeaways:
*Wokeism is not new, but rather the modern fruition of ancient Paganism. Just as Pagans of old were devoted to their gods and rituals, today’s Woke adherents are fervent in their devotion to the new dogmas of gender identity, critical race theory, and earth worship. And cancel culture acts as a modern-day inquisition, imposing public shaming, deplatforming, and societal ostracization if you refuse to bow to the left’s ideology.
*People are being pulled away from the faith, or toward more progressive variations of it. Commonly seen now are eroded views of scripture, a progressive sexual ethic, and a strong critique of historical Christian beliefs, which for many, is enough to shipwreck their faith. The popular “deconstructionist” approach involves dismantling the authority of Scripture, recasting it as a flawed human document (rather than the divinely inspired Word of God), and by doing so, they can then strip away the Bible’s moral and theological absolutes, replacing them with a more fluid and subjective interpretation that aligns with modern cultural trends. This “reinterpretation” downplays or outright rejects traditional Christian teachings on issues like sexuality, marriage, and the sanctity of life. The result is a form of Christianity that bears little resemblance to its historical roots, or worse yet, an abandonment of the faith altogether. People are now seeing truth as “relative,” meaning they can change or redefine it as they see fit (moral relativism).
*When the church loses its distinctiveness- when it begins to mirror the values and beliefs of the surrounding culture rather than challenge them- it ceases to be the transformative fore it was meant to be. Instead, it becomes just another voice in the chorus of competing worldviews, offering little more than spiritualized self-help and moralistic platitudes.
*Individual life was of no importance (in Pagan world)- therefore abortion, infanticide, human sacrifice and more were just a part of (everyday) life. And today= When lives are not valued, they are easily disposed of through abortion. Convincing people that this is a “sacred” right and that opposition to this belief is oppressive (or that we as Christians should just remain quiet on the topic) is a morally subversive ideology that has infiltrated even the church. This is producing what is known as the “Christian left”- Christians who either knowingly, or unknowingly, adopt leftist, socialist, and communistic thinking, ideals, values, and innovations. This is happening for several reasons, some of which are pastors refusing to address current moral and political issues or topics (for fear of offending people), and schools indoctrinating the children immediately and consistently throughout their educational journey. Today 60% of mainline Protestant Christians in America support legal abortion (a practice that, while sanitized by modern language, is fundamentally a socially acceptable form of child sacrifice). Despite its CLEAR violation of Scripture and its condemnation throughout church history, it is often excused in the name of personal freedom or political expediency. But the justifications don’t stop there…
*Take for example: The opening ceremonies of the last Olympic games. The perverted performance that sparked debate as to whether it was a representation or satirical take on DaVinci’s portrayal of Christ’s last supper, or a representation of the Pagan feast of Dionysus, the Greek god tied to wine, fertility, and celebration. At the center of the table was LGBTQ+ activist and drag performer Barbara Butch, who was surrounded by 17 other half-dressed drag and transgendered performers, including one male performer who had his scrotum protruding from the side of his shorts. It reeked of Paganism sexual debauchery and anti-Christ sentiments, but was allowed to occur under the seemingly innocent guise of “it wasn’t meant to offend anyone” and only “highlight diversity and inclusion.” Whether the performance was intended as a parody of the Last Supper or a reenactment of the Feast of Dionysus, it was wildly inappropriate and riddled with near pornographic imagery. But they (media and powers that be) provided ideological and spiritual justification for dismantling traditional moral values by imposing socialist tactics and cult-like pseudoscientific reasoning on the general populace (which is effective at blurring moral distinctions and obscuring the truth). It distorts views of truth and the natural order while bearing a superficial resemblance to Christian values. It is a strategy necessary to deceive the masses-as they are trying to control thought and ideology at a global scale (and break down current cultural standards of morality). By constantly feeding people content that blurs the lines between acceptable and taboo, they can condition society to accept and even embrace what was once considered immoral or fringe. And because of this, many Christians actually defended the opening ceremonies performance (I have personal experience with this). They justified it and rationalized their alignment with it, claiming it to be “permissible,” (whether out of ignorance or intent, they bring into the church what belongs outside it, diluting the Gospel and weakening their faith). This is a dangerous compromise as they are prioritizing social acceptance over Biblical fidelity. They are redefining their faith to align with society’s expectations. These expectations are often framed under the guise of love, inclusion, and tolerance which (in their minds) seem so “Christian”-like.
*If a Christian stands against the societal expectations or dares to speak up/out about them, they are labeled “religious extremists,” “intolerant,” and “oppressive.” But Christians MUST NOT remain passive. Far too many Christians are content to stand on the sidelines while the very soul of our nation is at stake. It is complacent and cowardly. We MUST advocate for the policies rooted in Biblical justice, defend the unborn, protect children against radical indoctrination, and uphold the sanctity of marriage and family. From the statehouse to the schoolhouse, we must demand that the laws and policies reflect God’s truth, and NOT the subjective morals of a secular culture. We must prioritize supporting leaders who will stand strong against moral decline. We need to encourage Christian involvement in politics, as a means of bringing God’s truth to the public arena. The rise of godless leadership threatens everything we hold dear. It is not optional, it is critical! Christians must step beyond the church walls and actively engage in shaping the cultural and political landscape. We must not abandon truth, but be compelled even more to proclaim it!!
There is a lot I could say about this book (maybe I should have taken notes while reading), but will try to keep this short.
I really did not like the first half, every comparison the author gave related how some “new age-y” or secular belief mirrored Christian beliefs, giving more credibility to [what he calls] their made up religions (he references each person mix and matching parts and pieces of other “beliefs” to come up with something they like) that could be taken as other modern faiths could be viewed as the same similar…
While trying for arguments in other areas, the author misses points against those beliefs, their lack of morals, and barely talks about human sacrifice while trying to relate those required sacrifices to abortion in just a couple lines, but not explaining why or giving examples.
There are a lot of other things the author started toward, but then just veered away completely without stating corrupt and evil behaviors and actions.
Another issue was tap dancing around “wrong doings” of the Catholic Church instead of addressing and [needingly] attacking them directly…
It was like he was trying to “cherry pick” what could be viewed as the most outside (of unspoken alliances) and how vial some outcomes could potentially be (opening the door for demonic activity or possession) what helping to continue to hide the corruption in some of the largest and most powerful religious “organizations” on the planet [the Roman Catholic Church will do anything to keeps its power, influence, and money].
Now for the good…towards the end, the author discusses the foundations of the church, acknowledges there are differing denominations and groups, but that they/we can and need to work together in being examples. He also (greatly) warns in the end about taking an extremist’s view or trying to force conversion—Although I wish he had beeper discussion about platitudes and falsities such actions would cause—in trying to “speed up” confront this threat.
I know many have really enjoyed this book and think they got a lot of information from it (it was recommended to me and someone gave me a copy to read); but there are many things that needed to be addressed that were completely skipped over, interactions with other organizational type movements that are not compatible, other other material(books) that were referenced in a single line at the topic that actually should have been expanded on more deeply and why they were referred to at that subject and left out of other subject areas they would have fit into better…
All in all, it was okay, I expected…well, I guess more.
I had heard about this book coming out before it was published. And I was just beginning to learn more about turning point USA and Charlie Kirk when he was assassinated by a coward on the Pagan side -specifically an anti-Christical Trantifa lost soul.
Then he made an appearance on the Steve Deace Show after Charles murder. So I knew I needed to be sure to get this book and absorb the lessons about these various groups that hate Christianity and how we need to not only take deeper into our own faith, but be prepared for the spiritual warfare that is being wage up upon us every day from various groups. In many cases, we are oblivious to the over and the subtle actions that these groups are taking to separate us from God and from society.
I really enjoyed the breakdown of the various groups and how they are making havoc in today’s world. I think it’s important to identify each of them like the author did so you can better understand who they are and who they aren’t. As well as what they’re doing and what they’re not doing. That was very informative to me, even though I think I am on top of some of these world views.
This book is not particularly long but very effective. Now will the various Christian and Jewish denominations pick this up and listen to it or read it? Will they internalize an act on it? Only time will tell. But while I was not very familiar with turning point, USA and Charlie Kirk, it doesn’t take a mathematician to add 2+2 and come up with four when you see him being murdered in cold blood as well as he several attempts to kill our president in the same manner. Add in all of the Antifa and Trantifa violence as well as importing millions of freedom-hating Muslims It’s time to start fighting back. And that starts by opening the Bible every day and getting our head and hearts, right.
Gave it 2 stars because Miles didn't get everything wrong. He's right that various forms of spirituality that we might broadly term "neo-paganism" are on the rise in the West, and that it's something the church should be aware of. But over all, not a book I would recommend to anyone (I read it for the sake of being able to comment on it and the stream of thought represented by it). I remain unconvinced by his conflation of "Wokeness" and neo-paganism, even if there are some parallels between them (of course, I sympathize with neither--though "Woke" is one of those terms that always needs further definition, since it's not always clear what counts as being "Woke" in someone's mind, but I digress). I think he represents that stream of evangelical thinking that prioritizes winning the culture war (he speaks of "the battle for cultural dominance" as something the church is obviously supposed to be engaged in), failing to think carefully about what the Bible would present as the mission of the church.
And most fundamentally, Miles operates with far too small a view of the sovereignty of God. This actually comes out explicitly in what he says about responding to the problem of evil, and in his cautions against certain forms of prayer (going so far as to say that intercession that does not respect a person's free moral agency is almost itself a form of paganism! Apparently we're not supposed to pray for people's conversion, repentance, etc.). But it's also inherent in the way that he tries to provoke his readers to action by stirring up fear of this "godless uprising," as though it's up to us to do something, and soon, if we don't want to be ruled by a bunch of Christian-hating pagans. He pays lip service to the fact that change has to happen by the Spirit's power, but *our* efforts take center stage.
This guy has no clue what he’s talking about clearly. As a pagan, I obviously am biased BUT let me just say paganism has been around WAY longer than Christianity. First of all: - Christmas trees: pagan. They came from the Yule log. - Halloween: pagan. -advent candles: witchcraft. It’s candle magick. - communion: witchcraft. - there are many, many more things Christians draw from paganism and witchcraft and I’m sure Miles has done many of these things so in his eyes he would be going to hell or whatever the Bible says. Also we are NOT a threat. Like I just want to do my own thing I couldn’t care less if people are Christian, as long as they’re happy and aren’t being hateful. Also, labeling everyone that is different from you as pagan is stupid. In your eyes, even if I still practiced Christianity, I’d be pagan because I’m trans and pansexual. Which is stupid. Just because I want people to have the right to choose what happens to their body you would label me as pagan. I don’t why you think this as paganism is an umbrella term for a bunch of religious beliefs (Wicca, Hellenism, etc.) not for wanting basic human rights.
I don’t know where Miles and a bunch of other people got the idea that pagans are a threat to you but you are so, so wrong. You are a threat to yourself. I’m not a Christian because a Christian used his beliefs against me and said I was going to hell for just having gender dysphoria and liking girls. And that was my own fucking dad. So go off all you want about how witches and pagans are ruining Christianity but maybe before you do that check what people in your own religion is doing. I think you’ll find more of an issue there.
Pagan Threat: Confronting America's Godless Uprising by Pastor Lucas Miles is a cautionary call to Christians about the subtle rise of pagan influence in American culture. Miles argues that entertainment, social media, and politics are increasingly shaped by spiritual ideologies that conflict with biblical values. He introduces the concept of “techno-paganism,” suggesting that digital platforms are being used to spread godless beliefs. Through historical comparisons and cultural analysis, the book frames this shift as part of a recurring spiritual battle. Ultimately, Miles urges believers to stay spiritually alert and reaffirm their commitment to truth in the face of cultural deception. I would highly recommend this to people who are concerned about hidden messaging in modern life. One part that stood out to me in Pagan Threat was Part 2, “Lilith and Lucifer.” Pastor Lucas Miles explains that Lilith is not a real figure from the Bible but a mythological character from ancient folklore, often misused today to symbolize rebellion and self-worship. He also discusses how both Lilith and Lucifer are being reimagined in modern culture as icons of empowerment and enlightenment instead of warnings against spiritual deception. This shift, especially in media and progressive narratives, seems to be a deliberate effort to blur the lines between good and evil. Reading this section made me more aware of how these ideas are influencing society and reminded me why it's so important to stay rooted in biblical truth.
So the root of all evil, the malignant cancer that is sweeping the nation/world and taking over the souls of our youth all started with . . . Wait for it . . . “‘Arry Potter!” (Shouted with a pronounced British accent.)
As a practicing Wiccan, I was actually going to hold my nose and buy this book as research for a series of books (fiction) I’m writing. You know, to get inside the head of “Christians” who act like anything but, so that I could better flesh out my (evil) antagonists (righteous religious men who think they know the mind of God).
Instead I read the sample first chapter and experienced a feeling I’d never experienced before. Is there a German word for gearing yourself up to confront the enemy only to discover they’re woefully inadequate and pathetically ignorant? You know, like Schadenfreude, but instead of joy in another’s pain, a word signifying relief in an adversary’s fecklessness.
Also, sounds like the dude relies heavily on TikTok for most of his “research.” That’s like relying on Peter Thiel to teach the tenets of Christianity. (Oops. I guess y’all already do that.)
Worst of all, the author takes an admittedly scintillating premise and makes it SO boring.
If this is what we pagans are up against, all you holy rollers better start praying. Lol, you’re doomed.
Paganism isn't threatening the once great USA, an authoritarian regime built on the false ideology that only a Christian God can save us all is literal Scheiße.
They need someone to blame for their failures. It's not Pagans, it's not the LGBTQIA+, it's not the Taliban, the Cartel, or Aliens. It's the cult of their own making that is destroying a once vibrantly diverse landscape. It fostered kinship, tolerance, and inclusion. WE THE PEOPLE. Not WE THE CHRISTIANS.
It's a cop out. We are at the tipping point of 1928 in Central Europe. Read the books. First, it was the Jews. Now it's the Pagans, and the people of different backgrounds, the queers, and the immigrants. This country has not learned from its past; it's attempting to re-create it with a cry for witch hunts.
This world has not learned. It continues to perpetuate, aid, and allow authoritarian rule. Pay attention, one day your children will read about what is to come in history books, how a once great nation was led back into the dark ages. The same way they study the World Wars and the Salem Witch Trials.
- whew- Now I'm tired My initial response to this load of weapons grade HORSE SHIT is to laugh uncontrollably not just that some religilous twat published it to take advantage of the rubes but that people actually believe it.
Then I took a breath people will BELIEVE this.
Dangerously gullible lazy brained people. and that thought is terrifying to me. The naked fact that too damned many people lack the brain band with to see the grift.
Very revealing as we understand the different pagan worlds.
The text explores the profound insights into spiritual growth and the multifaceted influences that shape our personal development. It delves into the intricate ways various external and internal factors contribute to our understanding of spiritual pathways, highlighting the complexity of human experience and the diverse approaches to personal enlightenment and self-discovery.
I read this as I work in a library and I know some folks in my area will be drawn to this title; the fearmongering could cause some to fight against the community's better interests, like right to read, freedom of information, etc.
Also, this was made more tolerable to read immediately after finishing On Tyranny by Timothy D. Snyder. Nearly every paragraph in Pagan Threat calls for some action that flies in the face of Snyder's 20 lessons to maintain a liberal democracy. Like fascist bingo!
Great publication of Truth! Had to read piecemeal as the truthful concepts needed meditation and prayerful acknowledgment. Motivated to read more of this author and learn to practice the Lord Jesus Christ's teachings and His examples addressing secular and pagan cultures. A special thanks to Charlie Kirk and Pasture Miles. Praise God and His only Begotten Son!
I must admit, it was and is eye opening. I had no idea that what’s going on in this world has been going on for centuries. The evil indoctrination of us and our children must be stopped. This book should be read by Christians everywhere. We have a fight on hands and this book outlines what we’re up against and how we should fight against it.
Such a hateful, Pseudo-Christian paranoid rant. The summary seems to be that if you're not a Christian, you are a Godless Pagan. If you practice natural healing you're a Pagan; apparently "Christians" only rely on healing that Jesus/God can give. Hmmm, is scientific medicine Pagan too? Good grief, this is such a sick morbid rant.
This was fantastic! You really are provided great information and history regarding Paganism and tnr parallels with the radical left that we have seen seeing in our culture. It also shows how it has slowly been creeping in to what we are seeing now. Great read!
This book is a real eye opener. I hope the young people take time to read it. Older people, keep up with the changing times. Be aware. Always have faith and trust God.
I find it far-fetched. Is paganism really kidnapping our children. Is Harry Potter turning our children into witches? Or is secularism the real threat? I think the latter.
A must read in the aftermath of Charlie's assassination in which, at the time of publication, he was alive. Lucas Miles is someone who can pick up where Charlie left off and lead the next generation into the Christian faith. Loved the book, listened on audio but followed up by buying a hard copy
The first half of the book makes fascinating connections between Paganism and Marxist/far left ideology. The second half mostly gives tips on how Christians should evangelize and preach the Gospels. Book is written with clear and precise prose.
Really enjoyed this book. Makes a clean description on what being a believer is about, and discerning false teaching. Whatever church you go to or are involved with, compare their actions and words to The Holy Bible and Holy Spirit.
This book was great until the end. It had lots of good information but ended up leaning on the promotion of Catholasism, their creed and the universal church under the premise of unity. What a bunch of garbage. Anyone who reads their Bibles knows that Catholics are not Christians.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This man clearly has no idea what paganism is but is quick judge and make it a threat, keeping up the us again you culture war going. Christians lack of values and sheep mentalityis the real threat
