JOANN GROTE lives in Minnesota, where she grew up. She uses the state for most of her story settings, and like her characters, JoAnn seeks to serve Christ in her work. She believes that readers of novels can receive a message of salvation and encouragement from well-crafted fiction. She has over 35 books to her credit, including novels, "The American Adventure" series for children, and the "Heartsong Presents Inspirational Romance" series. She captivates and addresses the deeper meaning between life and faith.

I remember devouring this series as a kid, and I especially read and reread the books set in the Depression and WW2. If you aren't familiar with the series, it begins with the pilgrims and ends with WW2, a total of forty-eight books in the series. Some of the stories cover little known incidents in history but offer a snippet in the beginning of each book to let you know what happens REALLY happened. Our church library just acquired the whole series, so I am currently like a kid in a candy store revisiting my favorites. 😁
