Hold On For An Amazing Rock Romance

To say that I love Ms. Mizera’s rock romances is an understatement because she seems to always write her characters that make me feel like I’m right there whether it be a tour bus or a stage.

The storyline between Crimson Edge’s drummer, Agnus and Ryleigh is so wrought with drama that I couldn’t put this book down. So many secrets and twists and turns that left my head spinning. This is definitely a book you want to get your hands on.

Do yourself a favor and read Edge of Forever which is a prequel. This is only the beginning and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for me next.

"This is our life. Our relationship. Our love. It's not a negotiation"
I enjoyed the buildup that led to Agnus and Ryleigh's final capitulation
They balanced each other out perfectly
The story was easy to follow with a pretty solid plotline packed with a diverse mix of personalities, each bringing so much to the tone of the story. Secondary characters I couldn't help but fall in love with.
And the antagonists? Icky enough to make my skin crawl

"Opposites attract, my friend."
Agnus was all kinds of book boyfriend material- both red and green flags 😉
He believed his reasons for being an absolute horse's backside in the beginning were just
; Sure, a few times I wanted to introduce his drumsticks where the sun did not shine (don't judge)
However, as the story progressed, he won my heart over
Big marshmallow gooey guy

"I don't. But I do like when you throw me up against the wall and do naughty things to me."
The friction between these two when they came within 10 feet of one another was nothing but explosive.
And when it came to their angry hate/love moment
Hades level atomic!

"Look, if you don't want to...do whatever it is you're hinting that you want to do, why did you say anything in the first place?"

I enjoyed the back-and-forth between these two. Even when they were going at it in full destruction mode. There was always that underlying sense of desire, no matter what was spewing from their mouths
I was so happy when I thought the author was not going to use the twist in events to induce relationship drama.
I took a breath a bit too soon though
However, it was still a solid read ,and I'm looking forward to reading 👀 Mick's story.

Kat Mizera has truly hit all the right notes with Living on the Edge, the first scorching instalment in her brand-new Crimson Edge series. From the moment you lay eyes on the cover, you know you’re in for a wild, passionate ride—and Ms Mizera absolutely delivers.

Set against the backdrop of a high-octane rock tour, this story introduces us to Angus, Crimson Edge’s brooding, fiercely talented drummer, and Rayleigh, a determined music journalist with secrets of her own. Their chemistry is electric, but life on the road isn’t all spotlight and soundchecks—it’s messy, emotional, and tangled with lies, twists, and hidden truths that threaten to pull them apart just as they’re finding their rhythm.

This isn’t just a romance; it’s a backstage pass into a world where love and music collide, and every chapter feels like a new track in an unforgettable album. If you’ve already read the prequel Edge of Reason, featuring guitarist Sam Fielding, you’ll appreciate the seamless transition into the full tour experience—but if not, don’t worry. Living on the Edge stands strong on its own, gripping from the first page.

If this debut is any indication of what’s to come, the rest of the Crimson Edge boys are in for an emotional rollercoaster—and I’m here for every single encore. Rockstars, secrets, and soul-deep romance? Sign me up for the whole tour.

Living on the Edge, book one in the Crimson Edge series is a fantastic start to this new rock band series. I loved both Angus Jeffries, the Crimson Edge drummer and Ryleigh Tucker, a reporter for Rock Harder magazine. These two definitely didn’t hit it off at first but their fiery banter caught a passionate edge and all bets were off. The overall piece of their story was riddled in secrets about his past, her balancing her personal and work life and all the different personalities of the band members. Their journey wasn’t easy and a few obstacles were thrown in their way but if love and a future together are worth it they will find a way.

I hate it when life gets in the way of reading another awesome book by Kat. I only put Living on the Edge down when I absolutely had to. Each twist pulled be right back in. I love how each of Kat’s book series is connected to her others so I always feel comfortable with and connected to the characters.

Angus Jeffries and Ryleigh Tucker just fit together from the beginning. My heart goes out to Angus and Ryleigh’s convictions are something to envy. They are able to get past the secrets, but can any relationship survive then the trust is severed? One gives up everything and the other is willing to. That’s true love.

Living on the Edge is book 1 of the Crimson Edge series, however there is a prequel to this story, Edge of Forever. Living on the Edge follows Angus and Ryleigh on their journey.

Angus is the drummer for Crimson Edge. He hates reporters, but must deal with them now that the band is on tour. He has secrets, boy does he have secrets, that only two people know outside of his family.

Ryleigh started a social media channel while in college featuring reviews of bands and their albums, as well as their shows. Over the years her following has grown. But when her dad is on his deathbed, he makes her promise to join the staff at Rock Harder Magazine and become a real journalist.

When Ryleigh joins the Crimson Edge tour, Angus is leery about her intentions. He questions her morals about what she is really there to report on. They butt heads regularly, but it is like foreplay for these two.

When Ryleigh asks Angus for a favor, he vehemently says no and walks away without even listening to what the favor is. So when she comes across him having a discussion with someone on the bus, she pieces together the facts and passes the information on to her editor, who runs with the story.

When his truth comes out, will it impact the band? Will it impact his personal life? Will it impact anything? Time will tell.

When Lexi decides to go public, through Ryleigh and Rock Harder, about her pregnancy, the story she was sent to dig up falls in her lap. However, she does not write it in the manner her editor was expecting. Instead, she spins it as a positive and not a scandal.

But when Rich, the editor or Rock Harder magazine, expects her to write a story about the band's reaction to Angus's secret, she is not able to bring herself to write it as a scandal. He keeps telling her he has a source that is telling him they are breaking up after the tour. Is this true? Or does he really have a source telling him that? Or is the source just trying to shift focus from them to another "controversy"? So many questions.

Since they are now dating, Ryleigh allows Angus to read the story she is emailing to her editor, right before she hits the send button. He loves the story and the positive spin she puts on the scandal and rumors.

But when the story comes out, it is not the story she submitted. It has "truths" in it, but she did not write them. And when Angus reads the story, he is livid. He trusted her. He gave her everything. Why would she do this to him? He does not even give her a chance to explain.

Is this the end of Angus and Ryleigh? Or just a bump in the road? Will his family support him and his decisions, or will they continue to press him about his duties?

I have so many feelings about this book. Angus has so many secrets. When they are revealed, he goes in to a tailspin. I feel bad for him. He has worked so hard to remove himself from his family and protect the band from bad publicity. But his "deceit" is handled differently by each of his bandmates.

Ryleigh has ethics. Why she wants to work for Rock Harder is beyond me. I know she made a promise, but sometimes you have to take care of yourself first.

Both Ryleigh and Angus are fiery people. They do not want to like each other. But when they finally come together as a couple, they need to remember that bad things can happen. They need to take in to account forgiveness and communication.

I am really looking forward to more stories in this series. I am hoping to see Kirsten and Sam get a story in the future. And Jonny. I have so many questions about him. I am questioning some things after reading this book and my mind is racing with possibilities.

LIVING ON THE EDGE is the first instalment in Kat Mizera’s contemporary, adult CRIMSON EDGE erotic, rock romance series-a spin off set in the author’s Rock Hard and Rock Harder worlds. This is thirty-two year old, Crimson Edge drummer Angus Jeffries, and twenty-four year old, journalist Ryleigh Tucker’s story line. Several characters cross over with, or are mentioned, or have connections to characters in the author’s Rock Hard series, Rock Harder series, and Las Vega Sidewinders hockey series.

NOTE: There is a prequel novella-Edge of Forever- focusing on Crimson Edge guitarist Sam Fielding and teen singing idol Kirsten Aiken.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Angus and Ryleigh) LIVING ON THE EDGE follows Ryleigh Tucker as she struggles to make a name for herself in the world of music journalism. Ryleigh’s late father worked for the music magazine Rock Harder, and gifted his daughter a shot a fame working for Rich Fowler and Rock Harder magazine. A music reviewer and online blogger, Ryleigh is desperate for a full-time job, and her first assignment is to write an expose on the up and coming rock band Crimson Edge but from the outset Ryleigh’s place with the band is fraught with issues of trust, and when secrets are revealed, Ryleigh is forced to take the blame for something she did not do. Crimson Edge drummer Angus Jeffries is hiding a secret, and if exposed, his life with the band may spiral out of control but Ryleigh Tucker is about to uncover a much darker series of lies, and pay the price for someone else’s sins.

The world building focuses on the dynamics of the band as the pressure to succeed is threatened by someone else’s jealousy and hate. A perceived betrayal will push Ryleigh out of Angus’ life, a betrayal meant to destroy and break out story line hero. As the band begins their climb towards stardom, someone else is determined to take them down.

The relationship between Angus and Ryleigh begins acrimoniously as the band isn’t found of someone reporting their every move but Angus quickly discovers Ryleigh is much more than a wanna-be journalist, she is the woman who is about to destroy his heart. Ryleigh knows that to get involved with Angus Jeffries is a potential conflict of interest, and in this, Ryleigh battles between head and heart when someone else takes advantage of her burgeoning career. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to the energetic members of Crimson Edge: guitarist Sam Fielding and his girlfriend, teen singing idol Kirsten Aiken (Edge of Forever), lead singer Jonny Gold who struggles with the betrayal of his band ‘brother’, bass player Mick who is in love with another muscian’s girlfriend, rhythm guitarist Tate Jeffries, band manager Sasha Petrov (Anatoli -Las Vegas Sidewinders 4), singer Lexi Rousseau from Nobody’s Fool; Ryleigh’s questionable boss Rich Fowler, musician and Crimson Edge nemesis Callum Yates, and his girlfriend /model Taryn Blakeny, and bus driver Ben.

LIVING ON THE EDGE is a familiar story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, jealousy and manipulation, trust and heartbreak, forgiveness and love. The rock star / journalist love affair has been done by many authors, and all with the same take on betrayal and forgiveness but none the less, LIVING ON THE EDGE is a spicy tale of heart break and forgiveness. The character driven premise is captivating, dramatic and edgy; the romance is passionate and intoxicating; the characters are determined and charismatic.

Living On The Edge by Kat Mizera is book one in her new Crimson Edge series. This follows the rock band Crimson Edge and their rise to fame. We start with the drummer Angus Jeffries and the music journalist Ryleigh Tucker in this rockstar romance. There are lots of secrets and we get to see the consequences of them as they are slowly revealed. A slow burn, age gap romance involving hidden identity, betrayal and lies, heartbreak and forgiveness before their HEA.

The band members of Crimson Edge have a really strong bond and friendship, having worked hard to get where they are. After years they have finally got a record deal and are off on tour supporting Nobody’s Fool. Angus is the grumpy and mysterious member of the band who has kept his real identity hidden from the rest of the band along with other secrets. It has been three years of lies and he is worried what will happen if it all blows up and everything revelled. He feels like he has betrayed them but always had their best interest at heart. Angus loves a redhead and is attracted to Ryleigh straight away but is furious when he discovers she’s a reporter and coming on tour with them.

Ryleigh has grown up around rockstars as her father was a music photojournalist. While at college she started a social media channel about bands, concerts and new music called Rockin with Ryleigh. Since graduating with her degree in journalism, she has only had a few jobs. When her father died a year ago she promised him she’d work as a reviewer for Rock Harder Magazine as his friend is the editor. As much as she hates the idea there are reasons she needs the job. She feels it's a dream come true when she is sent on tour with Crimson Edge because she loves their music. It turns out her boss also wants her to spy on Nobody’s Fool due to rumours about them. She's put in a hard situation as knows neither band will be happy when find out why she there and she hates being dishonest but needs to prove herself as a entertainment journalist.

Angus has really good reasons for his deception and knows it will affect the band but he finds Ry hot and smart. He tries to fight the temptation, knowing her job could reveal his secrets. It is a conflict of interest for her as their relationship develops and she tries to build her career. I liked how each of the band reacted differently once the truth came out. Johny Gold is the lead singer and a great spokesman for the band, struggles the most. Tate Jeffries, the rhythm guitarist, was understanding as best friends with Angus. Bass player Mick Lips gives Angus the benefit of the doubt because he is in love with Ry’s friend Taryn, who happens to be the girlfriend of a rival musician. Guitarist Sam Fielding accepts what is happening because ehe is so in love with his girlfriend, the teen singing sensation Kirsten Aiken. (They have a prequel Edge of Forever.)

I did feel sorry for Angus over everything but felt he didn’t handle the situations he found himself in as well as he could have. She had strong ethics and worked hard on her articles and social media but was never going to win with her boss. I understood that no matter how much he hurt her, she still loves him, I had hoped she’d make him grovel a bit more. I thought the members of Nobody’s Fool were really great especially how they backed Ry. There is some drama with their another band as there is history between them and I think it will continue into the next book. Although repetitive in places, I liked the found family aspect and the girls intervention to help the couple fix things. Glad they found their way back to each other in the end.

Rocking start to a new series

WOW! That's how you start a new series. LIVING ON THE EDGE is an enemies to lovers, age-gap, opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine, rock star romance which is packed filled with emotions, drama, passion, and twists and turns. I was hooked on this book from the beginning, fully entrenched in the story of Angus Jeffries and Ryleigh Tucker.

Ryleigh is a social media blogger/influencer who wants nothing more than to become a permanent music journalist. A promise to her dying father leads to a position at Rock Harder Magazine and the opportunity to tour with and write about Crimson Edge, a rock band who is slowly gaining popularity. Angus is the band's drummer, and a man who is hiding a secret which, if revealed, could destroy the life he has built with the band.

Ryleigh and Angus are drawn to one another, yet animosity and mistrust exist between them. A night of passion should have brought them closer, but it has Angus wanting more and Ryleigh feeling used. Eventually they are no longer able to ignore their feelings for each other, and a friendship begins to build. Just as things are moving smoothly along secrets are discovered and revealed, blame is laid, hearts are broken, and enemies are plotting. There are numerous layers to this story, and as they were peeled back it showed just how much trust, understanding, forgiveness, and love played pivotal roles.

LIVING ON THE EDGE is an excellent beginning to the Crimson edge series. It is emotional, has terrific banter, and a great introduction to the band's members. Kat Mizera has definitely written a character driven story, which is what I love about her writing, and I am really looking forward to Muck, Tate, Jonny, and Sam's stories.

A highly recommended read.

I’m so happy Kat Mizera has started a new rockstar romance and I loved Angus and Ryleigh’s story. “Living on the Edge” is a steamy, swoony and heartfelt rockstar romance that was the perfect start to this new series.

Ryleigh is a struggling journalist who made a promise to her father before he passed that she would make a strong effort to make it in the publishing world. And now she’s on assignment touring with Crimson Edge, an up and coming rock band. Her editor wants her to find out any dirty secrets they had. But as she spends time with the band, she sees how close they are. But the drummer, Angus, is a man with a secret. And if the band finds out, it could break them up.

Ryleigh is amazing and someone that I connected with right away. She lost both of her parents and was trying to find her way in the world. She’s genuine, smart and loves being a part of the music world. I loved how she hit it off with the band right away but also butted heads with Angus. Angus is a great guy but hides behind his bad boy drummer appearance. His family secret isn’t something easy for him to share and when we find out what it is, I totally get it. And none of it is his fault. The band took the secret kind of hard but they worked on forgiving him. Ryleigh and Angus had an undeniable chemistry and the banter back and forth between them was great until they gave into that attraction. And when they finally did, the steamy scenes were great. I loved how Angus took care of Ryleigh when she got sick and that really set the tone for their relationship. They were incredible together and made for each other. Even though they had a couple bumpy moments, they were able to work things out. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series when it’s released.

Angus is the bad boy drummer for Crimson Edge who has a secret that will lead to major fallout if it gets out. Ryleigh promised her dad on his deathbed, she would become a real journalist after he called in a favor to get her a shot at Rock Harder magazine. While in college, Ryleigh started a social media channel reviewing bands, their albums, and their shows. Angus and Ryleigh butt heads after Ryleigh joins the tour with Crimson Edge, and Angus questions why she is really on tour with them. How do the rest of the guys in Crimson Edge react when they learn Angus's real identity? When Lexi's pregnancy turns out to be a non scandal, will Ryleigh's editor push her to dig for a scandal involving Crimson Edge and the fallout from Angus' true identity? Will Angus and Ryleigh's relationship change after he takes care of her when she is sick? Will Angus be mad when Ryleigh confesses she outed his secret to her editor after he made her mad? When Ryleigh's story about Crimson Edge is published, will Angus let Ryleigh explain that the story she submitted wasn't one published, or will he push her away in anger for revealing secrets about him and his family? Can Angus and Ryleigh learn for forgive and find their way back to each other? I loved Living on the Edge by Kat Mizera. Angus and Ryleigh are an amazing couple with a scorching hot chemistry. I love all the guys in Crimson Edge and can't wait for their books. I would definitely recommend getting Living on the Edge by Kat Mizera. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Living on the Edge (Crimson Edge Book 1) by Kat Mizera is a rockstar romance between Angus Jeffries, the drummer for Crimson Edge, who has secrets, and Ryleigh, a reporter for Rock Harder magazine, who has a hidden agenda. Ryleigh has been assigned to tour with Crimson Edge in hopes of revealing scandals with the band, Nobody’s Fool that Crimson Edge is opening for. Ryleigh is a Music Influencer who is working for Rock Harder magazine in hopes of getting a long-term reporter’s position to fulfill a promise made to her photojournalist dad before his death and acquire health insurance since she has a DNA gene that can become breast cancer. Angus Jeffries has been hiding family secrets from his fans and has neglected to share them with his bandmates over the last 3 years. Ryleigh and Angus are a combustible mess that clashes with Ryleigh’s no-holds-barred interview questions. Living on the Edge (Crimson Edge Book 1) by Kat Mizera is a slow-burn rockstar romance with many smoldering embers flaring up into raging flames. There is family, band, and work drama throughout that interferes with their budding romance. Will Ryleigh follow her heart in writing the magazine article, or will it tear Ryleigh, Angus, and both bands apart as they tour together? Kat Mizera’s Living on the Edge embodies real emotions, and her characters convey them realistically, making the story all the more memorable.

After reading Sam and Kristen’s story in the prequel, Edge of Forever, I couldn't wait to read this next installment of the series.
Living on the Edge, book one in the Crimson Edge series follows thirty two year old drummer Angus Jeffries and Ryleigh Tucker, twenty four year old music journalist for the magazine Rock Harder. When Ryleigh’s dad passes away, she goes forward with his dying wish, to get a job as a real reporter working for Rock Harder, and when she gets a job touring with the band Crimson Edge, she is excited to put all her heart into the article. Angus hates reporters, but he loves a fiery redhead, and Ryleigh is both but the two constantly argue and butt heads with one another until they finally give in to the sparks between them. But when Ryleigh hears something she shouldn’t, she starts to piece together some of Angus’ background and inadvertently causes drama within the band. Writing a story about Angus and the band backfires when her editor, Rich Fowler tweaks her story, paying someone else to get the dirt that Ryleigh can’t bring herself to write about her new lover and friends. Will Angus give Ryleigh a chance to explain? Or will this article be the end of their love story?
I can’t wait to read the next installment, bass player Mick and Ryleigh’s best friend and supermodel, Taryn’s story and how that develops when Crimson Edge goes on tour with Taryn’s current boyfriend, and their enemy Callum’s band, Karnal Death.

I recently finished Living on the Edge by Kat Mizera, and I thoroughly enjoyed this emotionally charged rockstar romance. The story introduces readers to the members of the band Crimson Edge, with a strong focus on Agnus and Ryleigh, whose chemistry and banter kept me hooked from start to finish.

What I appreciated most was the character-driven narrative, which balances raw emotion with witty, engaging dialogue. Mizera does a fantastic job of blending the intensity of the music world with the personal struggles and growth of the characters, making the story feel authentic and relatable. The emotional depth, combined with the roller-coaster plot twists, gave the book a dynamic pace that kept me invested throughout.

While the story is packed with drama and passion, some plot elements felt a bit familiar within the rockstar romance genre, and a few moments could have benefited from deeper exploration. However, the strong character development and the vivid portrayal of the band’s dynamics more than made up for it.

Overall, Living on the Edge is a solid four-star read for fans of rockstar romances who enjoy emotional complexity and great banter. It’s a compelling start to the Crimson Edge series, and I’m looking forward to following the rest of the band’s stories. If you’re into music-driven romances with heart and heat, this book is definitely worth checking out!

Angus has secrets that not even his bandmates that he considers family know about so when the aspiring journalist, Ryleigh, comes on tour with them he walls go sky high. Ryleigh just wants a job doing what she loves and to keep her promise to her father, she knows it won’t be easy to get the band to open up to her, but she isn’t expecting the hostility that rolls off their drummer, Angus. Ryleigh is a great person, a creative writer with morals, and super sweet, but she isn’t afraid to stand her ground against him. Their story is a whirlwind of rock n roll, secrets, and more that I loved the direction it was all headed in, especially when these two got over their stubbornness. Yet, in the end after all had been said and done, Angus still doubted her without even letting her explain and I get he has been put through a lot but to go from I’m going to marry her to sorry I don’t trust you, was very harsh. I also understood where the friends she made in the band came to her trying to get her to talk to him after she already said her peace, irked me some. I know that was the push they needed but it happened too soon after she told him goodbye and it was very pushy on their part. Overall, this story was fun, very hot, and the characters were amazing.

Ryliegh and Angus were a surprise. Two people who had that thin line between hate and uncontrollable chemistry. This is a story about a young band starting to make a name for themselves, secrets and hidden agendas. Ryliegh is alone in the world now her father is gone and he requested she try something that she is not sure she wants, however security is very important to her. Angus just wants to play music, hang out with his band and stay away from his family. His secret is out and it was not as a dramatic reveal as he feared, however he has a hill to climb to get back in the good graces of his band. As things heat up with Angus and Ryliegh, as we all know good things have a way of crashing when you least expect it. Ryliegh's world falls apart when her article is published, however it is not what she turned in yet no one believed her or cared that her article was hijacked. She runs and loses herself in the process. Angus is angry and when he learns that her article had been rewritten by Rich, he does everything he can to make Ryliegh forgive him. This book was heart wrenching and painful at times, however it is a book you can't miss. Love the characters, love that we also get to keep up with friends from other books.

Heart, Heat, and Rock n’ Roll

Kat Mizera delivers with this high-stakes, emotionally charged romance - the electrifying first installment of her Crimson Edge series. Each page sizzles with her signature blend of heat, heart, and a glimpse of the rock n’ roll lifestyle.

The novel is set against the backdrop of rock band Crimson Edge embarking on their first major opening act tour with Nobody’s Fool and Living on the Edge centers around the main characters - drummer Angus Jeffries, and rock journalist and influencer Ryleigh, who are as complicated, compelling and each harbouring their own secrets. Their relationship is combative at first but becomes raw, real, and deeply emotional, exploring what happens when secrets are exposed, and ambition collides with vulnerability and truth.

This is a novel that’s as passionate as it is powerful. In short, Living on the Edge is a captivating start to what promises to be another thrilling and heartfelt series. Whether you're a long-time Kat Mizera fan (like I am) or new to her work, this book will hook you with its intensity, charm you with its heart, and leave you eager for the next Crimson Edge installment. A must-read for romance lovers looking for a story that hits hard and loves harder.

Rock star romance is one of my favorites, so I was excited to read this one. This talented storyteller delivers a heartfelt, compelling romance full of secrets and angst.

Ryleigh Tucker needs an interview with the guys from the band Crimson Edge and ends up on tour with them. Although her editor wants all the salacious gossip, Ryleigh finds the superstars are just regular guys who pretty much keep to the straight and narrow. And when she starts getting close to drummer, Angus Jefferies, the line between professional and personal gets blurred.

The whole pharmaceutical industry and health insurance issues could have been handled more gracefully. Far too much time was spend reiterating that big pharma is bad juxtaposed against one character's obsessing over getting health insurance. The themes were so strong that they overshadowed the more important elements.

Despite this, I was all in on Angus and Ryleigh's romance. The way Ryleigh's ethical dilemma and Angus's secret being revealed were handled made for some riveting reading. I loved the secondary characters and the bad players, which all made for a lively backdrop to a hypnotic, heartfelt, rewarding love story.

Talented Writing Makes for great story

*Some spoilers——-*. Ok I’ve read a lot of poorly written (self published?) books so reading this one felt like coming home. Real writing. Creative plot. Real characters. The main couple fall for each other despite their best intentions. Problems in their relationship seem to come at them from all sides- family, the band, her employer. You will definitely get caught up in the ride to a HEA. Sex scenes are spicy as well . My only complaint is the ending seemed rushed. They went from “ I will never trust you” to”ok lets move in together” without hashing out their issues and expressing her hurt and pain. The author seems to avoid it by writing they will do therapy. They also could have had some great emotional scenes with her boss and her confronting as well as conflict with his mother. But Raleigh deserved to express her hurt directly- he would not even listen to her and immediately believed she was a liar and user. Also would rather have had her pickupher you tube channel. And how was him quitting the band supposed to vet them together. Overall excellent book.

Crimson Edge #1

Ryleigh Tucker 24, is an influencer who does album reviews etc but when her dad dies she loses health insurance that she so badly needs. Her dad had set her up to get a job with Rock Harder Magazine and she hopes it will lead to a full time position. Her first job with them is to go on tour and follow the band Crimson Edge and get all the dirt she can.

Angus Jeffries is 32 and the drummer for Crimson Edge. He's none too happy to hear they will have a journalist following them for the tour. When he meets Ryleigh he is a little smitten with the redhead, his favorite but he has secrets that he doesn't want to get out. In fact the band doesn't know about his secrets and he certainly doesn't want them to get out as it could hurt the band.
There's no denying the sparks and chemistry between Angus and Ryleigh but it's her job on the line, the age difference and oh yeah all the secrets he doesn't want out. Will they cross that line? Let's not forget trust.

Great start to a new series. There are some twists you don't see coming.

I devoured it with my heart in my throat, an emotional roller coaster.

I suppose I might be biased since I’ve been reading Kat’s books for years now. Her books are my comfort reads because I always know I will love it and this book is no exception.

As always, I love her down to earth style. The way the characters challenges seem so real and practical that it could be your life or mine, we are reading about, even though the MMC is an actual rockstar.

Kat’s characters are always so relatable, and it’s so easy to understand them and their motivations.

This was quite an emotional read for me, but I always trust Kat to deliver a satisfying HEA.

Both Ryleigh and Angus are dealing with pressures and constraints from their families and their stations in life. They both have their secrets, and their goals seem to be conflicting.

However, their chemistry win out and soon they find themselves more involved than they planned to be. At the same time all those secrets and outside pressures are conspiring against them.

This is a beautiful spicy love story. I already know I will adore this whole series.

I have received an ARC of this book and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

Kat Mizera brings her readers into the world of Crimson Edge the hottest new rock band. We start off with Agnus the hot drummer for the band. Ryleigh catches his eye from across the room and then he finds out that she is a journalist from a magazine that is going to be following them on tour. Agnus hates the press and is more than willing to not share. As we read on we find out that there is more to Agnus than we think and more than even his band knows. Ryleigh has past that is riddled with lost and is dealing with her own issues from that. It is these issues that made her take that assignment to tour with the band even if its really for other reasons then what she is telling everyone. As the story plays out there is so many different twist and turns to the plot it made me not want to put the book down. The story constantly makes you want to read on so that you can see what happens. It definitely helps to read Edge of Forever the prequel to get into the story. I can't wait to see where this band takes us.

This one was just ok for me. I had a hard time connecting with the main couple. I get why Angus kept is past hidden, but it annoyed me why he was so bent out of shape when his all his bandmates didn't just get over it when it came out. It annoyed me more when towards the end, a big family secret came out and he once again didn't give someone else any consideration, especially when he and Ryleigh had been building something. It also annoyed me that Ryleigh kept her original task hidden, although she clued Angus in, in the end and how she did so made his getting upset about the article even worse. She let him read it and was in on the back and forth with her boss. The last thing that annoyed me was how it was decided what the band was going to do next. When 2 members had such big reservations, those should have been taken in consideration more. I know things are going to end up a shit show and money isn't going to fix it, but I also guess that is what is needed for the next book.

I really enjoyed this story. I do like rockstar storytelling that doesn’t rely on booze and drugs to bring the story, and this one has a well plotted storyline and is well paced from start to finish.
Crimson Edge are a band on the verge of making it. They have just released their debut album and are on tour as the opening act for Nobody’s Fool when Ryleigh, a music influencer, wanna be journo, joins them on tour to write for Rock Harder magazine. Her goal, a staff writing position, her task, to spy on the singer of Nobody’s Fool and write an expose about her alleged pregnancy.
Angus, drummer for Crimson Edge, is hiding his own secrets and when these two meet, the chemistry is palpable.
What follows is a slow burn romance, where trust is gained, secrets come out, stories are written, liberties are taken, and underhanded actions lead to explosive outcomes. Will the story that is published blow up everyone’s lives?
It is well worth reading this entertaining and gripping story to find out!!

Living on the Edge (Crimson Edge Book 1) by Kat Mizera is a rockstar romance between MMC Angus Jeffries, the drummer for Crimson Edge, and FMC Ryleigh, a reporter for Rock Harder magazine, who has a hidden agenda.

Ryleigh is on tour with Crimson Edge trying to reveal scandals within the band Nobody’s Fool (Crimson Edge is their opening act). Ryleigh is trying to get a full time job as a reporter and she needs medical insurance. Angus is hiding secrets from the fans and his bandmates. Ryleigh and Angus are a terrible mess. Angus hates Ryleigh’s questions. Their romance is a slow burn that turns into a raging inferno. Of course there is all kinds of drama from band, family, and work. What will happen if Ryleigh follows her heart and writes the magazine article she was hired to write? Should she risk tearing apart her relationship with Angus and both bands?

This is a gripping and memorable story!

This is the first book in the series but I think it's definitely worth reading the prequel novella first if you can. There seems to be lots going on in this series and I liked how there are some elements with the band that will likely be resolved in time in other books so there are still some questions to be answered at the end. And hopefully people that will get their just desserts... Finding out the couple from the next book in the series has me really excited as well.

Anyway, Angus and Ryleigh had great love/hate chemistry and I liked the slower burn aspect to their story. I wasn't a fan of how he reacted when things went wrong but there was always going to be a blow up and it made sense I guess. If you're a fan of rockstar romance then this is a really well written story with interesting characters and band relationships woven throughout.

Kat Mizera is back in her rockstar era, and I am loving it! 9not that I don’t love her other eras LOL)

Okay, so I’m gonna cliff note this for you because I just finished earlier this afternoon at the doctor’s office and I’m tired LOL but it’s release day so you should get something.

This is not a story you haven’t read before. The rockstar vs journalist angle has been done many times. The circumstances in the book have also all been done. Nothing new. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good story, because it was actually a great story.

Did I like the last minute stupidity? I’m not even gonna answer that except to say that I REALLY wish authors would STOP throwing in “last minute conflict” especially when a story carries inherent conflict within it. It’s obnoxiously maddening and I want it to stop.

Thanks, that’ll be all for now.

The first book in this new series but what a start it was. I truly like a rockstar romance but was also intrigued how the story was told but I also liked the lead characters Angus & Ryleigh. It definitely held so many emotions that were a true rollercoaster at times; hoping for that happy ending. Excited to see what comes next!

Ryleigh has been through a lot and when she starts a new opportunity as a reporter with Crimson Edge on their tour, she's willing to do whatever it takes to hopefully hold a steady job. When she first meets Angus, they get off on a rough start as he doesn't trust easily. He's not happy to have a journalist on the tour but it seems he doesn't have much to say about it but as they are getting to know each other, he starts to slowly come around. But both still hide a secret that might change everything. Will they all be okay in the end?...

I truly loved reading Angus and Rayleigh's story. It was a great way to kick off a new series by this very talented author.

Angus is a rockstar drummer who has a secret past. Rayleigh has promised her dying father that she will become a journalist and work for his friend who is in the music business. When she gets chosen to write a story about Angus he is worried his secret will get out and potentially hurt his band. Rayleigh doesn't want to hurt anyone but she has a not-so-nice boss who is wanting a story. When Angus's secret comes out he has to deal with the fallout with his family and the band. What will happen to Angus and the band? What will happen with his relationship with Rayleigh? You have to check this one out. I look forward to more in this series.

Thanks to the author for my advanced copy. This is my honest review.

Living on the Edge is a fantastic read. I loved this so much. I could not get enough of Angus and Ryleigh. Angus is the drummer for Crimson Edge and has secrets he's keeping from the band. He is talented and guarded. The band is ready for the next step. If you've read the prequel you have a head start to who is who. Ryleigh has dreams to be a writer and it's her job to get the ins and outs of what is happening with the band on tour. She is a victim and some what villain thanks to her boss. You are going to love how close Ryleigh and Angus get. Their chemistry build and banter in this one. I love how even as secrets of Angus come out their is still support within the band even as he has to work a little harder to get some members to trust him again. I could not put this down. I cannot wait for more Crimson Edge to come. Go click this now.
