Four classic stories, of which I was only familiar with one. This is a quick read. By today's standards, the literary devices are far from new and the foreshadowing is much too obvious. But read in context of these being classics upon which other literature has been built, well worth the time. They are all nice simple stories which explore the softer side of humanity.
Read primarily for Crane’s short story “The Brides Comes to Yellow Sky” - ,.
Both Garland and Crane feel, depict a difference between the East and the West in terms of wealth, education, cultural interests, taste and comportment.
Yellow Sky is in Texas, west of San Antonio on the Rio Grande.
This audio collection includes four short stories: The Bride Comes to Yellow Sky by Stephen Crane, The Last Leaf and The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry, and The Lady with a Toy Dog by Anton Chekhov. I'd read the latter two years ago while in college, but I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting them both on audio. All four stories were well-performed by Frank Muller and George Guidall.
