July 13, 2024If you're into age gap, stalking, kidnapping, or insta-something, then maybe you should give this a try. It's also a novella, so it's a quick read. It didn't hook me, but other readers might feel differently. 🤷♀️
The FMC isn't a V-card holder, but she might as well be seeing as she only had sex once, and as usual, it was an awful experience. 🙃 If authors are going to make their FMCs non-virgins, why not make them someone who explored their sexuality soooo well and thoroughly before meeting the MMC??? Idk, it would've been better than giving this nonsense crap about her losing it to a lame one-and-done guy and saying that she had a terrible experience. 🥴
Then, of course, we had the MMC—older, divorced, experienced, and someone who's only into no-strings situationships. 🤧 But for some reason, one glance at the FMC and he already knew that she's the one he's been looking for all his life. The missing piece for him or something like that. 🤔

Wrong number de Mayra Statham Serie so wrong, it’s good libro 1
Argumento:
ENVAR. En el momento en que sale el mensaje, Vivian Delacruz y yo somos inevitables.
Ella cree que un mensaje de un extraño es el destino. Mensajes que se convierten en llamadas telefónicas a altas horas de la noche que nos dejan a los dos sudando y jadeando.
El destino no tiene nada que ver con eso. Soy un hombre consumido por ella. Ella no tiene idea de que pasa junto a mí todos los días o que mis manos literalmente duelen por tocarla. Ella no sabe que no hay un momento durante el día en el que no la mire.
Vivian Delacruz puede pensar que un número equivocado nos unió, pero ¿qué sucede cuando descubre que no fue el destino sino la obsesión?
Mi humilde opinión:
Romance con atracción instantánea, diferencia de edad, acosador alfa.
La historia de Vivian y Nix es OTT por dónde se lo mire pero me pareció sexy y dulce con el condimento de lo prohibido y unos límites que se cruzan por amor si estás en los romances con un héroe acosador perdidamente loco por la heroína. Todo consentido obviamente.
Cortito sin mucho más pero entretenido.

We have a cop that catches a single glimpse of the new cleaning girl and that’s it, he’s obsessed. Stalking, breaking into her apartment, developing a weird phone relationship with her by pretending to text the wrong number. What’s a man to do? Kidnapping! He’s lucky she’s the kind of girl who finds that stuff romantic. Like she doesn’t even really put up any fight or have any reservations which was kind of annoying. Standard stalker stuff.

Loved this stalker age gap kinda romance
Nix may be a few years older than Vivi, he also might be a detective and has seen the worst of society, he also is a good man, but none of that stops him from stalking Vivi. The first time he sees her he comes to life and that’s it for him. I loved this stalker age gap romance, well written great characters, wonderful HEA.

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
Nixon is a divorced police detective who spots Vivian the cleaning lady one night while working. He is immediately obsessed with her. What he feels for her he has never felt for another woman. Vivi sees him and thinks he attractive but continues with her work.
Jumps to a few weeks later where she gets an unknown caller call, except she knows exactly who it is, it’s her mystery man Nix. They started talking after a wrong number text that she got from him. It started innocently enough but things have really ramped up, they are each masturbating and orgasming during their phone conversations.
Vivi does not know what her Nix looks like but she does sometimes fantasize when talking and masturbating with him that it’s the handsome detective she saw. Then she feels guilty about it. When Nix asks her for a picture of her after having an orgasm she asks him for one too. He tells her his camera is broken, so she sends him a pic of her hand only.
Nix has been stalking Vivi, he parks outside her apartment each night and follows her everywhere. She works two jobs to save up for I think a car, to get to both jobs she takes the bus, where Nix literally gets on the same bus as her. She never notices, she always looks out the window.
Being a detective does not stop Nix from crossing so many lines, he could be his own Dateline special. He stalks her, breaks into her place, sniffs her underwear, and he kidnaps her!
I didn’t understand why he kidnaps her, he could have just talked to her in the break room at the precinct when she came to clean it. She would have recognized his voice and guessed it was him.
When he grabs her, she of course is ok once the fight response is over when she recognizes him when he calls her kitten, that’s his pet name for her during their calls.
They talk, he tells her he loves her and they have sex, she tells him she loves him too.
Epilogues five years later with him stalking her still and her pregnant, and 14 years later with more kids and him stalking her when she goes for an evening stroll.
Vivi was an ok character, Nix seemed more creepy than sexy. A hero should never be creepy.

Ok, I love a good stalker, and this was a quick read. Nix & Vivi had potential! I just wasn't a fan of the pacing or something. Like, the wrong number trope is was drew me in, but then we don't get to see that interaction! We don't go on that journey with our characters, and I was disappointed. Nix also takes some steps that don't make any sense, because he already has the "in" with Vivi, and could have made things a lot less complicated.
Anyway, I did like both Vivi & Nix, so there's that!

Five huge stars for this!! I love this author so much and she delivers every time with hot and sweet!
Vivi is just such a beautiful soul. Like unbelievably so, despite what she has been through, she sees the bright side, the silver lining in everything.
When Nix first spots her, his heart literally stops but he is the complete opposite to her. He wants more of her sunshine and will stop at nothing, cross lines to ensure she is his!

It was ramping up, the tension was building, and my vag was awakening, and then.....it died a 'dewy' death.
It's almost like this author is afraid to step over the edge. They're either taking sadistic pleasure in edging us readers, or they're not quite ready to go over to the true dark side.
This one had such potential to be down right nasty. It just left me with a limp lady dick. Soz.

If you want to read a well written contemporary novella about a manipulative, selfish guy and a pushover girl in an insta lust plot, go for it. They’re both unlikable. She was so naive and stupid and he was such an unlikable manipulator. If she had pushed back at least once, that would have been something. But she’s such a pushover loser. Yuck yuck yuck.

Interesting take on this story! Obsessed, stalker, and infatuation with this girl, yet Nix's attraction is definitely one to be questioned. When they finally connected, expected to be questionable as to do you just accept situation? Definitely questionable.
