Not sure why I didn’t like this one as much as the previous books in the series! As always, Brittany Goodwin does an awesome job with the narration!

These book move so fast. I finished the who series in less than a month. These last 7 books I read one a day. So many twist and turns. Was very unexpected finish with the yacht club. And now she is dealing with teens! That in itself is scary. Lol! But always the professional that Rebecca West with her now exceptional team! Shadow island is safe on their island now!

SHADOW’S FATE is the sixteenth  installment in the Shadow Island Series by Mary Stone and Lori Rhodes and another winning story you will have a hard time setting down.

The Yacht Club has finally been eradicated. Things were looking good on Shadow Island, right up to finding a body in the cemetery.  There will be no Thanksgiving for our team. There's a young girl murdered and dumped next to a partially covered skull. All Rebecca has got so far is 'the witch did it'. Suddenly, one case has turned into two. It will take law enforcement and forensic teams from surrounding areas to help solve these cases.

If you haven't read any of Mary Stone's books and enjoy mystery thrillers, start now. Mary and her co-authors definitely know how to get their lead characters in trouble.  I know  I'm anxiously waiting four the next installment.

I did receive an ARC of this book from the author and this is my freely given and honest review.  I recommend this book and the entire series.

Rebecca West sheriff and her crew of Deputies are involved in investigating not one but two murders, one older found in an unusual place and a new one on top of the older one.
What happened on Shadow Island and why do bad things keep happening?
After solving the Aqua Mafia murders and the horrible crimes they committed. These were members of the Government of Shadow Island in the peoples eyes but underneath all of their lies were the dark and dirty things they did to become the island richest people. Rebecca and her crew thought they were in for some peaceful, slow and way times. But it never happens the way you think it will.
I have enjoyed Reading the Shadow Island Series and keeping up with the stories of the people on the island. I believe you will enjoy this series and if you like Murder Mysteries you will love Mary Stone, Author's books.

This will probably be my last Shadow Island book for a while, mostly because the rest of the series isn't on audiobook yet. I get caught up in the story, so I usually listen to the series on laundry day.

Why did I think that once Rebecca and her team dispensed with the Aqua Mafia, they could catch a break? There still seem to be so many rocks to overturn on this island so the dark underbelly can come to light. I didn't understand the need for the cemetery dig except for the fact it kept Hoyt, Viviane, and Trent otherwise occupied. It didn't really go anywhere.

I felt sorry for Rebecca struggling to trust her instincts based on what happened with Ryker. I still can't believe that one! It was kind of unnerving for the Sheriff's department to keep uncovering these crimes. It sounds like the next case won't be any easier for Shadow Island and their residents.

This entire series has been well written. I have enjoyed each book, and this one is no exception. While trying to find out who murdered a teenage girl, the team literally stumbles onto more bodies. Are they from the notorious Yacht Club? A Serial Killer? How in the world did 34 extra bodies wind up in their cemetery! They knew the prior caretaker was possibly burying people on top of legitimate grave sites, but they had no idea of the number that would be found. While pulling in almost every forensic person and ME available they still have another crime scene to find and solve. Enter the sociopath. A young woman who can twist every story and every person she comes in contact with. What a great mix of characters. I read this in one sitting, and you will too.

Shadow's Fate (Shadow Island FBI Mystery Series Book 16)

This book was amazing, I tried to drag it out as long as I could, but once I got started, I just couldn't stop. I can't believe that I have to wait so long for the next book. Rebecca has her hands full in this one, it starts with the death of a teenage girl, and when she is found in the grave yard, they find another body that shouldn't be there, that sets off a chain of events, that seems never ending. Before the cases are solved another teenage girl is murdered, so this is a cluster f____. They managed to solve the teenagers murders, but have a long way to go to solve the other case. I can't wait to read the next book.

When Whitney decided to ride her bike to the gathering of her new friends out at the “old witches” place she thought they would all be present to further bond them as friends. However when she arrives the place is dark. She explores to see if they are outside somewhere. . Things begin to fall apart when she is suddenly confronted and quickly ends up dead.
Rebecca and her team are tasked with finding out what happened to her. Those who knew her claim she was pretty much a loner, they have no idea who would kill her.
Rebecca quickly decides the group is not revealingly something, and so the hunt for the murderer continues. Really exciting book

Finding a dead teen at the cemetery leads to thirthyfour more bodies

Rebecca is trying to find the killer of a seventeen year old girl that had been left at the side of a hole at the cemetery. When they start to investigate her body they find an other body partially uncovered at the site. As the investigation goes on the forensic team finds thirty four more bodies. This makes the reporters hounding the sheriff’s department fall into a frenzy like a bunch of sharks. They keep interfering in the investigation of the first murder found but the sheriff keeps on the trail of who did it.

Shadow's Fate is the sixteenth book in the Shadow Island series by Mary Stone. This collection of twenty books (so far) is a gripping ride through mystery, suspense, and human darkness.
With former FBI agent Rebecca West at the helm, the books masterfully weave high-stakes investigations, layered characters, and island secrets that kept me on edge.
Each installment balances chilling crimes with deeply personal stakes, rendering Shadow Island both a paradise as well as a nightmare.
This is a fast-paced, twist-filled, and psychologically compelling series - a page-turning must for fans of thrillers and atmospheric mysteries.
Happy Reading…

ARC received

Shadow Island is again plagued by a murderer. But this one has had a surprise of their own! While attempting to bury their first victim they find another skeleton already in the shallow grave, which just happens to be on top of a real grave. As the Shadow Island police investigate this they find not just the one skeleton, but two are there. Then they find more. So, has the Old Witch gone on a killing spree or what? Between the two separate cases & the media frenzy, Sheriff Rebecca West has her hands full. And it’s Thanksgiving for criminy sake!!

Does the end of the Yacht club end the crimes? Well , Rebecca and her team finds the hard way. Island’s secrets and myths are just popping up as fast as the dead bodies. Split into two groups Rebecca is trying to solve fresh murders of the young girls, while Hoyt is busy to count the uncovered skeletons in the local cemetery. The book starts with the bang again and ends with the new crime. A lot of suspense and surprises in between. And of course the media news does not help. Poor Rebecca. Do not hesitate. This is the one of the best books Mary gave us so far. Bravo!

A fanatical coven is now enveloped in Shadow Island. The problem is the death of its young teenage victims. One teenage victim is found partially buried in one of the graves in the local cemetery. upon further inspection. There is more than one body in the grave. It seems the deputies of Shadow Island have uncovered the illegal body dump of the now dead Yacht Club. With sonar equipment they begin the task of looking for more double graves in the cemetery. How many are they about to find? Excellent series to read. Very well written with everything a good novel should have.

Shadow Island’s Sheriff Rebecca has put an end to the Yacht Club mafia but has that ended the murders? A teenage girl has been found & half buried in the local cemetery with markings indicating the witch’s curse is back. But that isn’t the only thing buried in the cemetery. As Rebecca investigates the teenage murder, deputy Hoyt is investigating the cemetery occurrences. Are they related, who is behind the new murders? A page turner, for sure!

It’s the week of Thanksgiving and a young girl is discovered next to a freshly dug gravesite. A simple case? Not likely as it seems another body has been placed in the same grave as the intended victim was intended to be placed. Coincidence? E-bike Rebecca is chasing down the latest murder, Hoyt and team are digging up graves. Not how anyone wants to spend their holiday - trying to find a killer and discovering 34 extra bodies I the cemetery.

Absolutely love how Mary weaves one book in the series into the next while still presenting us with wonderful characters, seamlessly interwoven plots and a brand new case to figure out. This case is tragic as more young teen girls end up dead. Once again, the plot is tired into the notorious "witches cottage". Meanwhile, the team is overwhelmed by a plethora of other bodies that seem, at least in part, to be related to the dismantled water mafia. A must read to find out how it all ends!

Two Cases

The murder of a teenage girl who was taken to the cemetery to hide the body caused a needed search of all the graves to see how many additional bodies were in the cemetery. Rebecca split the two crimes in two so that one was about the new crime and the second about the extra bodies buried in the cemetery. It was an interesting story. How and why the two situations were handled was interesting.

A fast read with plenty of investigation into two primary mysteries. One - 2 current murders, two a whole group of past murders. Teenage girls are primary suspects for two deaths within a small group of friends (?). An unearthed skeleton in the cemetery leads to a grueling and massive team effort to unearth more than 30 "double burials" potentially linked to the Yacht Club assassin. Rebecca also finds herself severely roasted and slandered in the media. The question is by who, and why.

more evil deeds, more Aqua Mafia fallout

A teenager’s corpse is found next to a partially dug up burial plot in the cemetery - but an unrelated skull reveals an older crime victim, entombed atop the official burial plot.

More complications as two separate, unrelated investigations split Shadow Island’s forces.

Shadows Fate

This was a hard book for me to get through. I don't think all of the crude language was necessary nor did it add anything to the story. I didn't like the storyline of this book especially dealing with the occult. I finished the book only to go on to the next. I hope the next one is better.

Really loved this whole series

I started out thinking I wouldn't like the first book, but ended up reading all 16 books one after another. So gripping!
I would recommend them to anyone who wants to be sucked into a story & has a hard time putting a good book down.
I usually don't enjoy books that don't end happily, but this pulled me right in. Can't wait for book 17!

Not for the easily depressed.

The details are a bit morbid and depressing. I am a banker in a small town. I know about gossip and rumors ruining a good person who is only human but not allowed personal faults.

More trouble

Rebecca and her team tackle a case that becomes 2 cases. Rebecca and one deputy take the original case and most of the story is based on it. The second case is more involved and ends up connected to past cases.
