“Warmth is the all-powerful cure for this sort of thing at night. No puppy can help becoming sleepy in a really warm bed” (36).

Crate training a pup is one of the most difficult tasks, especially since they have such sad eyes and cute faces, we feel bad for leaving them alone in a kennel. We decide to treat them as if they are human. The thing is, dogs ARE children, who need to learn how to be alone at times, even whenever their owners are in the same house. This book brushes up on the important rules for puppy training. At first, they will expect to follow you around (of course, you’ll their companion) but, for the health of their minds as well as yours, you’ll have to “harden your heart” sometimes and ignore their cries whenever it is time for their naps or rests in their crate. This helps them fight off co-dependency. Learning how to be alone will aid them to realize they do not need to worry you’ll just leave them. You’ll always come back.

Step 1: place them in a room, with a comfy bed and some toys
Step 2: use words of encouragement and kindness
Step 3: leave the room
Step 4: check up in them in about half an hour. If they are quiet, reward them with praisal and/or a treat then leave again. This ensures your furbaby that you are not abandoning them. If they were barking, scold them once and leave again.
Step 5: you are one step closer to attaining a happy &healthy doggo! :)

P.S. practice basic commands with them attached to a leash, so you can correct them by a slight tug and “no” before repeating the word.

COMMAND CORRECT COMPEL

Never give a command to your dog if you cannot correct them in that instance. Never repeat a command more than once.

Nice book. A complete guide on to train your dog.

Dogs are amazing animals. They offer us their love, loyalty and friendship. However, they also require a lot of attention and care to keep them happy. If you want to be able to enjoy your dog as much as possible then it is important that you learn how to properly train them from an early age. This can be done through thousands of different methods but one thing is clear: positive reinforcement works best for most dogs!

Positive reinforcement is a great tool for training a dog. It's similar to the way you'd teach your child not to hit their brother or sister. Say, by giving them ice cream when they keep their hands off of each other. Similarly, using positive reinforcement when disciplining your dog can help him learn what behaviors are acceptable and which ones aren't. For example:

If your dog gets into the trash, instead of yelling at him or hitting him with the rolled-up newspaper, take out some treats and use them as rewards for not getting into the trash anymore. This way, he'll learn that if he doesn't get into things he shouldn't be touching or eating anymore, then good things will happen!

If your dog is barking at passersby on walks in public areas, then you don't need to try and stop this behavior; just give him some treats when he stops barking long enough for people to pass by safely!

However, you can also explore sources like Petcarerx to read some good and informative articles to get the tricks and tips to effectively train your dog.

A good book to teach you how to teach your dog. All the basics are here, although I don't agree with using the choke chain as much as she does.
