TURN YOURSELF ON - Anna Hushlack and Billie Quinlan

🎉 HAPPY PUBLICATION DAY 💫

Thank you to Viking books for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The authors of this book hold very little back when discussing all matters of boundaries, intimacy and sex, including some deeply personal stories. It's a bold countering of the idea of women as submissive, care givers that most of us grew up with. And instead, reminds and empowers women to assert themselves both inside and outside of the bedroom.
They have broken the book down into practical steps for change and interlaced it with real experiences and examples.
A new type of self-help which will hopefully make changes for women in future generations.

More general than I was expecting, but full of information nonetheless such as conflict resolution, boundary setting and enhancing communication. Personally I’m not a fan of this informal, chatty style of writing - it comes across patronising and feels dumbed down. I feel like this mainly happens with books written by women for other women. I don’t think writing needs to be like that in order for me to understand and be engaged with the science behind the literature.
