I just finished reading this fabulous (but slightly outdated) travel book by National Geographic on Paris.

Paris is a beautiful city, and I visited last year in the spring. Of course, we hit the highlights...the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, you know, the usual sights. We even managed to discover the Catacombs. But this guide gave me some new points of interest that most likely I would have never discovered on my own: gardens, palaces, cafés, little known areas of interest with brilliant histories.

This guide on Paris is certainly one that will remain on my bookshelf for future visits to the City of Light.

I was too busy seeing Paris to read the last 15 pages, but now I'm through it all and I just loved it. No one makes travel guides quite like National Geographic. I have three more months of studies in Paris (YAY!) and so I'm by no account done with the guide, but I wanted to mark it as read and to advice any who might want a full and interestingly-written view of the City of Love to get this, you won't regret it =)

[3 Can I "heart" this twice? I actually own the version that came out around 2000. The best Christmas present I ever got! The book was beautiful AND helpful. I could clearly understand and read the maps found in the book. It was wonderful! My sister was given the book on France that same year. We both decided after our trip that using the smaller, single city book was much better. The information was easier to find and carry!

The goal is to know Paris so well, that when I actually go there for the first time in February, I'll be a little bored.

Well organized and has a good section at the back for customs, getting around, french phrases and useful translations (eg. food/restaurant).
